Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

It’s Shavuot – which is also the birthday of the Ahavat Yeshua (Love of Yeshua) congregation that came into being in Jerusalem eight years ago, so reports is pastor Eddie Santoro.  We hope you were able to tune in to their 4^th annual Shavuot prayer gathering on June 3rd as it was live streaming from the Yad Hashmonah Messianic village facilities.  This is how the attached Weekly Summary was compased, listening to the prayers, praise and worship coming from that gathering.  The Spirit was so sweet to work by. 

The last several years we have taken part in the Shavuot prayer live streaming hosted by Revive Israel ministries – this time with English translation throughout.  Very nice.  You should read Asher Intrater’s thoughts on why they are doing this as an annual event.  We are destined to become a unity – one – with our spiritual kin in Israel.  Like the saints who gathered at the Jerusalem to wait for the power to be poured out, we are also awaiting the fulfillment of the promises of God for this hour in which we live.

Eddie Santoro wrote, “As the prophet Zechariah declared so long ago, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord". May it be so in our day.”  Pray for the good of this congregation, and all the congregations of Israel – that their people will be spiritually full, with all provision to go forth into the harvest fields of their community, and solid foundations among their individual and corporate family units.

Howard Bass writes about Shavuot and moving forward towards the final Ingathering and harvest of holy, righteous, and good fruit.  “I believe we should expect a major move of the Holy Spirit to bring repentance within the Body of Messiah -- similarly to the first advent when John the Baptizer, like Elijah, called for God's people to repent, for the Kingdom of God is [truly] at hand.  This is how I understand what the baptism of fire is about, which also comes from the Lord as much as does the baptism of the Holy Spirit.”   

The Bass Family sent a really nice family portrait now that the whole family is back – Evan having returned from his 2-year Bible school program in the U.K.   I appreciate Howard passing along the link to my article on the state of religious freedom in Israel.  For a long time I have had an article about the lawsuit that the Beer Sheva congregation brought against the chief rabbi of Beer Sheva and collusion with Yad L’Achim for rousing the mob against the congregation.  I told Howard I would write about it after the court ruled against him and he began to receive ‘friendly fire’ about it.

Some recent incidents and information converged, so I began to write and as I sent the first draft past Howard, I wrote:  “For a long time I have owed you a follow up article the lawsuit verdict and the baloney aftermath.  I'm very much a writer that writes on almost pure inspiration.  I have never put your article aside, I had just never figured out how to put it out there to give it immediate context.  This incident gives it an immediate context that inspired me.  I don't believe for a second that this was a "Price Tag" incident.  More like the anti-missionaries down the block from you.”  

I hope you will read it too because it will give you a quick grasp of a very broad and long tale of persecution of the faith of the Israeli Messianic Jews.  (Who are still arising and shining despite it all!)

From Christian Arab pastor Najeeb and Elisabeth Atteih in Haifa, we have a powerful report of their experience in Jordan as Jewish and Arab pastors have been reaching out to help and minister to the Syrian refugees who have taken shelter from the Syrian war.  This is something than many of the spiritual leadership in Israel have been taking an increasing part it, and it is quite a wonderful testimony from both Najeeb and Elizabeth who went to comfort the refugees. Please open the attached PDF Weekly Summary and read their report.  Pray for these ministries with a heart to reach the Syrians in their hour of great need.  This is how the prophetic highway of the Lord throughout the Middle East is being built.

The Atteih’s are also proud to share that their son, Tino has been accepted to serve in the Israeli Army.  They write, “The captain was very impressed with Tino’s personal story and faith, and asked what his father did. When Tino explained that his father was a “priest”, the captain asked, “And does he agree with you?” to which Tino replied, “He not only agrees with me but encouraged me, and preaches that all young Arab Christian men should go to the army.” The captain promptly told Tino to bring his father for a cup of coffee when he comes for the next interview, as they want to meet him!”

Evan Levine, who directs the HaTikva project in Israel, seeking to bless the needy among the Body of believers in Israel as well as to advance the kingdom through ministry to unbelievers, sends us a report on a recent recipient of HaTikva funds.  She is a single mother, with 7 children whose husband left her and does not provide child support.  She, in contrast, is a person who is a “super servant” in her congregation.  HaTikvah has stepped up to help this mother who also works full time to make ends meet.  You can read more of the story inside the Weekly Summary – and maybe you will chose to help them help her.

This month Arni and Yonit Klein send a report about how wonderful their month in Australia with their children, grandchildren and also the ministries Down Under.  Arni had some other things to write about “a radical defining moment in human history” – as the release of the Noah movie got him reflecting on what Yeshua meant in Matthew 24:37-39 about “as in the days of Noah, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be”.  You will find the entire teaching/reflection inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.  Like Howard Bass mentioned in his report, repentance is a key element.

Our dear friend Carolyn Hyde writes about the need to pray for a pagan burning man festival which is to be held in Israel.  The Jewish exclusion of considering Jesus as the answer to the missing spiritual yearning in their hearts has sent many a Jewish seeker into exotic religious practices and new age sorceries.  Pray that the One they really seek will present Himself to them, and burn up the false images they have of Him. 

Leon Mazin of the Return to Zion Center in Haifa introduces their new, long prayed for youth pastor, “Y”. A young man that has served in the IDF Special Forces, security at an Israeli embassy, married with children and possessing a pastor’s heart.   Pray for this young man as he steps into a leadership position with the congregation.  There is much being poured into the younger generation by Israeli elders in the ministry, to help shape the generation that will likely be in the lead as Israel’s spiritual harvest comes to full bearing.  Pray for the leaders who are as fathers and those who are as sons being trained for leading and blessing the people.

There is also a report for Mazin of the banquet they held for Holocaust survivors during Passover.  The number of Holocaust survivors who live under the poverty level in Israel would truly shock you, which is why it is such a blessing that so many of the Messianic leaders do special ministry to this group of people.  You can find out how you can help in a future event through this link.  And you can also see their Oasis Media TV teaching videos in English here

I also want to point subscribers to the very important article from Martin in Jerusalem, who explains why Israelis have been so alarmed by the recent elections in Europe ushering in far right groups.  It is not just Muslim immigrants that are propelling these parties, but it is worried that anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist sentiments are equally high.  See Martin’s article inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue

Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs: 

• Pray for Messianic leader Marcel Rebiai of Shemen Sasson congregation in Jerusalem as he recovers from major back surgery. 
• Arni & Yonit Klein of Emmaus Way request prayers for staff in the U.S. (Becky and Keith) and in Germany (Hannah) as they heal from extremely serious injuries received in accidents.
• Four elder ministry leaders in Israel, are dealing with Parkinson’s which is a neurological syndrome.  Since they have not shared this information, I will just ask for you to please pray for them each to be able to continue to live normal lives, and for the hand of the LORD to bless them with healing.
• Please pray for the wife of Ariel Ben David, who leads an Eilat Congregation, and also for his worship leader, both of whom were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.   It has been quite a long while since we heard any update, if any of you in Israel can input new information it would be appreciated.
• Pray for Ami Ortiz for ongoing issues from the Purim 2008 bomb blast –  all this time later there are still painful procedures, lack of recognition from the government of this terror victim status.
• Guy Cohen of Harvest of Asher asks for continued prayer for Marlene’s physical healing and financial miracle needed. For Misha, who has diabetes & was hospitalized w/infection and blood clot in his leg; for V’s son; for O who fell on the bus.

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”  (Mt.24:37-39)

The release of the Noah movie got me thinking about just how it was in the time of Noah.  To say it was a radical defining moment in human history would be a monumental understatement.  I find the story rather unfathomable.  For me, it's a bit like trying to grasp the fact that God has no beginning.  It seems rather important to consider and unpack the thought that as it was then it will again be.
