Priority Prayer Focus June 24, 2015

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. 2 Peter 2:4-10

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

NOTE:  This week the Israeli Ministries have their eyes on the nations and many of the prayer requests revolve around their unique exposure as Israelis to many of the spiritual issues of the nations which often place Israel in the heart of the matters.  Please note that we began by locating those special insights into praying for different nations and international situations in the Praying the Headlines section - not all, but please avail yourselves of important spiritual perspectives that you will not be getting on your nightly news reports.  You will also find another on prayer warfare in the Teaching Articles section.

Revive Israel provides us spiritual perspective and prayer requests on Gaza, Praise, and the Gay Parade an article by Asher Intrater. Mikha'el Kerem gives us insight on the recent Turkish elections and what it means in terms of the Kurds whose democratic party made great gains in the election.  Please pray for the courageous Kurds, who are a blessing in the midst of the radical Islamic cursed entities in the region.
Asher also teaches in a video: Restoration of the Apostolic Commission

Arni and Yonit Klein of Emmaus way write, "Without exception, anyone and everyone we have spoken with in recent days is of the opinion that sooner rather than later something is going to happen that will radically and irreversibly change the world we live in."   This creates a sense of urgency in their vision to " to gather worshipers from the nations to prepare the way of the Lord beginning in the Galilee."

They continue:  "We have mapped out dates for worship gatherings from now until the end of the year.  According to the picture we’ve received, the gatherings are for ten to twelve people for about ten days.  It is necessary for the proper group dynamics that there are enough participants.  The next gathering, being organized from Germany, is scheduled from July 19 – 30.  There is a need for more to sign up."  Read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Maoz Ministries led by Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram  writes about a flotilla of three ships from Sweden that are soon to be headed to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza.  Why would Israel do that? To halt the free flow of serious weaponry into the hands of the Hamas terrorists that run Gaza.  This entry will give you good insight into the background of the flotilla efforts that are accompanied by major propaganda against Israel at the same time.  Get specific prayer points inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary.

Maoz also writes about their group of 32 Israelis headed to the annual Messianic Jewish Alliance of America conference in Grantham, PA this weekend.  Pray for the Israeli teams attending this conference.

We have written before about the Yad Hashmona Messianic village which is located just outside of Jerusalem and now they have a great new web site where you can explore what they are doing in establishing this community of believers in Israel.  Click on the link above.

The Hebrew congregation in Arad is jumping for joy that the elections for a new mayor broke in their favor instead of in favor of the candidate that promised to continue in the policies of the previous mayor - policies that resulted in an increase of persecution and harassment against the Arad believers by the ultra-Orthodox.  They have more specific prayer points and after all the Arad believers have been through in the past decade and a half, they really would be blessed if you would join with them in agreement.  See more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Update from the Return to Zion Center where Leon Mazin leads the flock in Haifa with this report on their “Eagles-Soldier's-Project” which is "going off well.  We sent a group of our soldiers to Norway for a discipleship course and studies for one month. They finished their army service and we like them to grow in their faith and receive encouragement. Please keep them in prayers and of course if you feel being able to participate in this project financially it will assist us greatly."  These are soldiers who have completed their military service and instead of them going off in unspiritual directions of world travel, this congregation is sending its soldiers to faraway places but with strong spiritual  discipleship to keep them on track with the LORD.

Mazin also shares about the RTZ ministry assistance to new immigrants and their plans to transform a building near them into a sports club for fellowship and outreach.  Read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

David & Michaella Lazarus of the Beit Immanuel Congregation in Jaffa share about their annual summer focus on families and family events.  These are some great ideas aimed at bringing families closer with shared spiritual activities.  You can read more about the age-appropriate activities they've developed and how you can contact them inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

And last but not least, Israel Pochtar follows up with a report on the recent Ukrainian Refugee Relief project.  Donations made to this project put much needed supplies to many Jewish families who fled to Israel from the war-torn Ukraine.  Learn more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

Ruth of the Nahariya Fellowship whose biopsy has determined malignant Lymphoma, cancer of the Lymphatic System.
Please pray for one of the forefathers of the Messianic movement who shall remain nameless, as his health continues to deteriorate.
Ron Cantor requests prayer for his mother in law whose back surgery was postponed as doctors discovered she heart surgery first.

Praying the Headlines

Praying the Headlines has two full length articles from two of the top Israeli ministries that comment on news events touching Israel  - inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary. Martin Sarvis gives insight into why we need to pray for the Druze caught up in the Syrian conflict, as well as those in Israel and for Israel as they decide how to act to save this group that are wonderful citizens within Israel.  It is a complicated situation with Sarvis explains simply.

Also Eddie Santoro gives insight into the spiritual battle that is being fought because of the BDS (Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions Movement) - a devilish plan against God's purposes for Israel if there ever was one!  Both men serve in ministry in Jerusalem.

Teaching Articles

Asher Intrater of Revive Israel shares how the "weakness" of worship and intercession is mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds in his teaching on Gaza, Praise, and the Gay Parade  Click this link or read in full inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Israeli Ministries on Tours  |  BOOKING meetings now (See open dates)  Inside the attached Weekly Summary are itineraries and open dates for Kobi & Shani Ferguson of Yeshua Israel; David and Karen Davis of Kehilat HaCarmel; and Carolyn & Richard Hyde of Heart of God Ministries

The Israeli Messianic Marketplace  Feature of the Week:Israelprayer is PRIMARILY focused on providing a bridge for the international church to connect meaningfully with the Body of Messiah in Israel.  This has been our vision since the launch in August of 2001 to put our weekly gleanings from the prayer letters of Israeli ministries so that prayer leaders and other individuals that God has stirred with a heart toward Israel could begin to recognize those ministries in Israel who are bringing in the LORD's harvest among Israelis.  Along the way of publishing these prayer letters weekly for 14+years, my own understanding of what God is up to has increased dramatically.

My friend of many years, Eitan Shishkoff of the Tents of Mercy network in the Haifa region, has a book that will help the Church see her calling.  That calling is not just to stand by Israel, but PRIMARILY to stand by the Body of Messiah in Israel.  Eitan's "What About Us?" touches the "surprise role" of the Church in Israel's Salvation.

Israelprayer highly recommends this book to our subscribers.  The time is upon us for the Church to enter into its active role in God's mysterious plan for "all Israel" to ultimately be saved.  You will greatly benefit from the insight of decades of ministry in God's Word shared here.  Buy it on Amazon

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 6/17/2015

Arrows from Zion
Serving the Body of Messiah in Israel since August 2001

& Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Priority Prayer Focus June 17, 2015

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may nowh receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. . . .Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Roman 11:28-32, 12:1-2

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Volunteering with the Messianic believers while you are in Israel is a huge blessing – to them and to yourself!  We start this week with one opportunity to do so for those looking for a 3 to 6 month volunteer opportunity.  AND this opportunity comes from the first ever entirely Messianic village of Yad Hashmona, a moshav community of believers set in the Judean hills of Israel close to Jerusalem.  There is a great Guest House and meeting facility as well as a Biblical Village attraction.  If this is something you want to know more about  See more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Ruth Nessim, who along with her late Jewish husband Albert were among the first pioneers of the faith in Israel, has received health news that needs the prayers of the saints.  Ruth has been diagnosed with Lymphatic cancer and begins her treatment on June 29th.  If you know this lady, or have read her prayer letters, you know she is quite upbeat no matter what she’s facing, and that she openly extends the love of Yeshua to everyone she meets.  You can read more of her ministry letter inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary – also see the Urgent HEALING Needs section on how to pray for Ruth.

Ruth ministers to many Arabs, even entering the West Bank as often as she can to visit with contacts there including ABDM, whom she always requests prayers for.  This Arab man is seriously ill at only 40 years old and cannot afford proper food, much less medicines.  Please read Ruth’s prayer letter this week as she skips lightly over her own health issues and continues to press toward the mark of her high calling in the Messiah.

With a week to go before the matching fund deadline ran out, Ron Cantor reports that the ministry received commitments for the $35,000 they needed – and which will be matched by another donor – to build a Coffee House/Prayer Center in Tel Aviv!  Praise the Lord – and may God mightily use this facility to touch Israelis who need Yeshua.

Ron has also been re-writing his popular book Identity Theft this time in Hebrew with Israelis in mind.  He is offering a sample read (in English) of the new book with Israeli characters and setting.  You can read that excerpt here

Ronit Bender has settled into life in another new apartment and shares about the ministry she is involved with through the House of Victory rehab as they travel to Tel Aviv weekly to work with the Aviv ministry to substance abusers and the sex-abused on the streets of Tel Aviv.  It is a heart wrenching field of ministry, but Ronit reports, “My heart rejoices as Yeshua changes one life at the time! We see much ugliness each week, but travelling in the van with Eric Benson and the team from House of Victory is a highlight, as we worship and praise and pray all the way. We do the same thing going home. It helps me to cope with the horrible things I see.”

Ronit also works with teens, especially the Druze.  Read more of this lady who has put herself “all in” for sharing the good news in her homeland.  See more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Joel Jelski, a prayer and worship leader with the 24/7 Succat Hallel ministry, has had several opportunities to go into Turkey to minister over the last several years.  He notes the big shift seen in the elections in Turkey a few weeks ago.  “…we saw a country that was on the rapid course to Islamization and dictatorship. But we believe that through prayer, something there has shifted, and God is keeping the doors open to Turkey for now, after it looked like soon, the doors would maybe close (especially for us coming from Israel). Turkey is still the largest unreached Muslim nation in the world, and is also a gateway into much of the Middle East. There are amazing things happening there right now, we need to continue to pray for these doors to remain open for missionaries and freedom to share the gospel, especially the refugees there. For a good read on the subject about the political significance, you can click HERE.

Joel, along with the rest of the Succat Hallel team which is led by Rick Ridings, are gearing up for the annual ELAV youth and young adult event which is to be held in Jerusalem this year, July 8-10.  Watch the promotional video in English here.  Joel has other news – his wife is soon to give birth to their first child, and his younger brother is blossoming as part of their congregational youth worship team at Ahavat Yeshua (Love of Yeshua).  There is even an opportunity to bless this young teen who plays guitar but does not even own a guitar of his own.  Find our more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Rick Ridings also sent out a letter on HOW TO PRAY FOR THE ELAV 2015 event.  You can access all his prayer points inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary and it you would like to sponsor a Jewish or Arab young person who desires to attend, you can find how to do that at their website

Avi Mizrachi of Adonai Roi Congregation and the Dugit Coffeehouse Outreach notes that 3 Million Pilgrims from all over the world came to visit and tour the Land of Israel last year.  Why? “We have come to walk the land that Jesus walked.”  Actually, you can do more than walk where Jesus walked long ago when you visit Israel, because of the almost 20,000 Messianic believers in Israel today, you can come and see how Jesus is walking among the “Living Stones” today as they minister to their countrymen.  Read more of Avi’s article here.

The Dugit building project is just over the half-way point, having raised $600,000 of their 1.2 million goal.  The importance of this project is that this is not just a remodeling project, but they are seeking to purchase their own facility.  So often in Israel the ministries and the individual believers are forced to move often from their rented facilities and homes. A lot of it comes from pressure that some religious activists put on landlords.  This is a problem that is only resolved when the ministry or believer is in a position to purchase their home, apt or building facility.  This is an excellent way to invest in Israel, to help ministries and believers put down deeper roots into the soil of Israel through donations.  Learn more  inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Ari Sorko-Ram, along with three over Israeli pastors held a special conference with a number of prominent Asian Christian leaders on God’s Last Day plan for Israel and its irrevocable call to be a light to the nations.  The ministry writes, “As the number of Christians in the Far East is multiplying every day, these Christians have the opportunity to have a part in fulfilling the promises of God that as Israel awakens it will be truly life from the dead for the world. (Hebrews 11)”

Maoz Ministries also notes the return of rocket fire from Gaza into Israel asking prayers: “Many Israelis fear another war close at hand, and all the implications from it.  Please PRAY for God to continue protecting our land and our people.  PRAY that He redirects every missile launched towards populated areas to fall in open spaces so that there is no damage to people or property.  PRAY for wisdom for our leaders on what to do to prevent Hamas from rearming, as they have been doing ever since the ceasefire went into effect last August.”

Israel Pochtar, whose congregation in Ashdod is very close to Gaza and the missles that come flying willy-nilly out of there, reports that progress is being made on the renovations of their congregational bomb shelter – which has been made possible by the prayers and support of the saints.  During the war last summer, it was impossible for the women and children to attend worship services because there was literally no place of protection for them.  Now all that is changing thanks to donations from the nations.  You can see and read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

The Messianic congregation in Kfar Saba, HaMaayan led by Tony Sperandeo has also been working on their congregational bomb shelter.  Prayer intercessor and congregational liasion, Sally Shiff writes, “God has been so faithful to provide for our needs for our bomb shelter/ youth center.  As you know, we are trying to purchase the rest of the entire building, but our first stage is the basement. We know that the next war is inevitable, and can come at any time, and we want to be prepared.  We are so close financially, yet have another $50,000 to go.”

Sally writes about some of the recent highlights of congregation life – Baptisms in the Sea of Galilee, a weekend youth retreat, a seminar of forgiveness conducted by Orna Greenman’s ministry and a special evening for single mothers and widows.  You can read more, including the congregations specific prayer requests  inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Finally, we have a word from Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem on the beginning of Ramadan, Thursday June 18th.  Martin notes that Ramadan means “intense scorching heat”.  He writes, “One Muslim hadith declares that "When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of [Hell-] Fire are closed and the devils are chained." But of course the opposite is true! During this time in which fervent fasting and worship to another god is taking place, the demonic is given reign, and great turbulence may be stirred up in the heavenlies over those nations. Pray for protection over Israel during this month-that the Body of Messiah here (and throughout the world) would be sober-minded, alert and attentive to the direction of the Holy Spirit.”  See more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

- Ruth Nessim for malignant Lymphoma, cancer of the Lymphatic System.
- A forefather of the Messianic Movement (who shall remain nameless) whose health continues to deteriorate
- Ron Cantor’s mother-in-love for pending heart and back surgeries
-Thank God for Marc Chopinsky’s successful TURP surgery and quick recovery

A Spiritual Perspective on Current Events
IDENTITY ISSUES By Donna Diorio

I am not sure how this applies in the rest of the world, but in the United States we have been rocked lately by what the news media calls “Identity Politics”.  The best definition I’ve found for this is that Identity Politics is “political activity or movements based on or catering to the cultural, ethnic, gender, racial, religious, or social interests that characterize a group identity.”

Apparently Identity Politics also creates wannabe’s – people who reject their authentic identity to become identified as something they are not.  Olympic medalist Bruce Jenner recently traded his male identity in for a female identity – and since the LGBT movement is a cause célèbre for the “enlightened” Jenner’s rejection of the sex God made him is applauded by those outside of Biblical faith.

We have also witnessed a rise in those who lie about incidents or circumstances in their lives in order to identify themselves as campus rape victims who are not even ashamed when the facts emerge that they were not raped.
They are not shamed because the ‘politics’ of their lie was motivated by a desire to give evidence of a non-existent “crisis” of rape on US campus.

Speaking of US campuses, these are the breeding place of the anti-Jew, anti-Israel movement that is being instigated and propelled forward primarily by Muslim Students associations that are in reality of the American radical Islamist network.  Their appeal on American campuses is great because the cast themselves in a victim role – an essential element of Identity Politics – while casting Israel in an aggressor role.  In Identity Politics, it is necessary for the victim to identify a victimizer, and with complete disregard for the facts to paint their ‘enemy’ as devilish.

Identity Politics claim the high ground of social justice – it’s just not Biblical social justice, but a God-less version of justice that is not intellectually honest with the facts.

I’m a believer in what we witness happening in our society is a reflection of a spiritual issue within the Body of the Lord.  Now don't go crazy on me here, but considering the major blow up being discussed by the political Left and Right over the white woman, Rachel Dolezal, who as the prominent head of the Spokane NAACP was passing herself off as black, what might that be saying to us is occurring spiritually among the Church?

Maybe nothing, but personally I believe that the IDENTITY issue may be the spiritual issue that God is putting His finger on right now.  For example among those Christians, many Millennials who have aligned themselves with the Identity Politics of radical Islamists claiming to be Davids fight Goliath.

In the specific case of Rachel Dolezal, a naturally blonde woman of Swedish, German, Czech heritage who has been passing herself as a black woman, how have her lies discredited the claim that black in America is still a horrible racially victimized experience?  Do her lies, and the willingness of those in politics, news media and racial grievance movements to accept even her lying to them, have anything to say to us in the Church spiritually?

Since I have moved primarily in Messianic circles for the past two decades, the Rachel Dolezal incident reminded me of the many Christians that come to stand by the Jews who believe in Jesus and end up becoming so enamored of all things Jewish they being to transform their own identities into a Jewish identity.  Since the most obviously Jewish in appearance are Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox, I have personally seen many Christians go full-tilt frum after joining a Messianic congregation.  If there is a spiritual reflection of the Rachel Dolezal incident, I would have to say it is the Christians who have traded their God-given identity out of a desire to identify as Jewish.  This does not serve God’s purposes.

You know how anti-missionaries use the false accusation against Messianic Jews who believe in Yeshua that they are not really Jews? Well I am just wondering out loud how much of that has credibility with unbelieving Jews because of all the Gentile Christians who are wannbe Jews in the Messianic movement? Those who have taken on Jewish identities, instead of being what God made them to be: Gentile Christians who stand by the Jewish Body of Messiah completely?

Do we not have the same identity issues are Rachel Dolezal? Personally I believe that Christians who trade their identity in to self-identify as Jewish are not advancing the plan of God for the Messianic community in the redemption of "all Israel" and are not only hurting the credibility of Messianic Jews to the Jewish people, but also to the Church that has not yet recognized our place is to stand by the believers of Jesus in EVERY nation, including - and at this hour, especially - ISRAEL.

Now I understand how we started down this road in the Messianic movement, because the fledgling Messianic congregations needed the help and support of Christians within their congregations, yet also wanted it to look authentically Jewish to the Jewish people who came in. Fine.

That day is over. It is time to move on to be authentic in our identities as Jew and Gentile in the Messiah. One way that will help, I believe, is for more Christians to understand God's purpose for the Church in the redemption of Israel.

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Generally speaking I don’t like to use Israelprayer for reprinting teachings which I usually will provide a link to where the teaching may be found online.  However sometimes there are teachings from the ministries that are not available online but quite instructive to those who are praying through these prayer requests.  Others give perspective of how significant the Body of Messiah really is or are especially instructive in praying for current events in Israel.  So, I break my own rules on this.  Our focus is the spiritual harvest in Israel, but we cannot completely avoid turning a spiritual eye at time on current events.

Such is the case this week with a very timely teaching from David Davis of the Carmel Assembly on the contemporary parallels to be seen in the prophet Elijah’s spiritual confrontation with the prophets of Baal.  David discusses the “Baal” gods (Baal means “possessor” or “owner”) and their demonic influence in child sacrifice, sexual immorality – prostitution and homosexuality.

Davis writes, “According to the New Testament, homosexual activity is an act of final rebellion against God, resulting in moral anarchy: “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;  being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness… they are haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things…who, knowing the righteous judgment of God…not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them”  Is this not ripped from the headlines today?

Also, there is a fascinating perspective from Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem on The Return of Tekhelet, or the blue thread in the fringes on the corners of their garments God instructed the Israelites to wear. Two other teachings – but these with links you can follow to access online – are Dr. Dan Juster’s article, Is Israel a Vestige of Colonialism?  And Ron Cantor’s video asking, Who is Gog and Magog? Could it be Isis?

In the ministry report section of David Davis report from the Carmel congregation, they had a super turnout for their Shavuot “Ruth” outreach with close to 150 new Israeli visitors attending the production along with regular congregation members.  They ask for prayers for much fruit to come as they follow up with those who came forward for prayer and several who gave their hearts to Yeshua.

The Carmel congregation also operates many outreaches including humanitarian, substance abuse outreach and rehab, and women’s and childrens shelter.  You can learn more how to pray for these outreaches into their community inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Ben Juster gives a report in the Revive Israel prayer letter on the Restore Conference of the Tikkun network – it 33rd annual leadership gathering in the U.S.  Ben writes, “Over 125 senior leaders, elders, and ministry heads met for intimate times of worship, teaching, and discussion. Speakers included Asher Intrater, Dan Juster and special guests Pastor Che Ahn and Rabbi Jason Sobel. Asher delivered an exhortation for the Messianic Community to love and serve the international Church and fulfill our destiny to be a "blessing to the nations"

Then on the weekend Restore conference another 400 members and friends of Tikkun were ministered to by Che Ahn (ten declarations to call forth blessing and fruitfulness), Dan Juster (regarding the interconnected prophetic destiny of Israel and the Nations), Asher (on spiritual alignment and emerging apostolic leadership), Jason Sobel  (a call to strengthen the nets of our relationships to receive the coming harvest of new disciples).

Revive Israel also asks prayer for their team of Youval, Tal, Jeremiah and Roni who will be traveling with one of the Revive Arab partners to Geneva, Switzerland to participate in an all-night worship and prayer event. For more information visit: www.fetedesnations.ch

Sharing faith in Israel, generally speaking, requires taking a little different approach than we might be used to in most open nations.  Firstly, there is a more natural way of sharing faith one on one.  A perfect example of a ministry in Israel with an evangelist anointing to share her faith in a strongly magnetic way is Rachel Netanel in Ein Karim, just outside Jerusalem. There is no way to do justice to her accounts of sharing faith, but I encourage you to open the attached DOCX Weekly Summary and read her testimonies of witnessing for yourself.  Rachel and her husband Gilad open their home to people who are seeking the truth.  It is a type of outreach that bears great fruit in Israel.

Howard Bass writes that he has a house full of teenagers as Randi was in Prague for the week.  Two of the Bass sons, Evan and Tal hosted nine guys for a time of fellowship – “four young teens from different parts of the country to spend the weekend with us, teens that he (Evan) has known for a while through youth conferences and camps.  We also had two young men from eastern Germany with us, one of whom we had met previously.  It was a very quality time for all, and we thank God for the opportunities He gives us.”

Part the Shabbat service, Howard says a young woman, Ruth was baptized and after the service another young man came forward to commit his life to the Lord and be baptized as well.  “What Ruth said was the truth, and to choose life in Messiah rather than continue in all the emptiness of ‘the world’, spoke to him,” Howard writes.

“Those who teach/preach in our congregation have begun to meet weekly, which is something we have wanted and needed for a long time.  There are still some technical issues to do so regularly, but we want to encourage one another, seek the Lord together, and trust Him to show us what it is to give food to His sheep and lambs in season,” he writes.  To read more of the Beer Sheva congregation and see the full house surrounding the baptismal pool as Ruth is to be baptized, open and read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Pray for the summer camps about to get way across Israel for the believer youth.  There are different streams of convictions with the Messianic congregations of Israel.  For the youth camps those who are like-minded generally come together to provide these important times of fellowship and ministry for the children and young people from believer families.  Often these are the only times during the year that they are able to fellowship with other believers their age outside of the congregations they attend. They are often the only believers in their school – and the same holds true of IDF soldiers who are often the only believers in their units.

Eddie and Jackie Santoro of the Ahavat Yeshua (Love of Yeshua) congregation in Jerusalem also give us a report on their last Shabbat day – which moved from services, to lunch fellowship, then into the evening to attend the birthday of a 70 year old believer born in Morocco…and finally as a long day was coming to an end they arrived home just as their cell phones began to send warnings about rockets being fired into Israel!

Eddie writes, “For the third time in two weeks, a terrorist group from the Gaza Strip was attacking the sleeping city of Ashkelon. In a scenario that is sadly too familiar, Israelis fled into their bomb shelters. By God's grace, the missiles exploded in open fields around the city and there was no damage.  Israel responded quickly and as we slept, young Israeli soldiers boarded their aircraft and carried out a retaliatory attack. This morning the headlines were filled with stories of this most recent escalation of violence against Israel.”

He continues, “Please continue to pray for the security situation in Israel. Last week Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah in Lebanon promised to disrupt the lives of millions of Israelis in their next attack against Israel. They possess thousands and even tens of thousands of rockets and missiles that are all aimed at this nation.

“In a typical statement, Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip accused Israel of escalating tensions as this nation responded to the recent unprovoked rocket attacks. The long and difficult war that filled our lives last summer is still very fresh in our hearts and minds. Please pray that the current situation would not spiral into another war.

“And finally, please pray against the BDS (Boycott Disinvest Sanctions) movement that is gaining favor throughout the world. … This campaign of lies against Israel is very dangerous and poses yet another very real threat against this nation.”

Israel Pochtar, whose Beit Hallel congregation is celevrating its 10th anniversary in Ashdod, recounts what great things the LORD has done among them in the past decade as they minister primarily to Russian immigrants (of which there are MANY in Israel).  The congregation has suffered its share of opposition from the religious, but it has truly thrived finding favor with God and man.  Read more about this dynamic congregation that is reaching out into their community like there is no tomorrow!  See more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Rick Ridings of Succat Hallel writes about their annual youth and young adult conference ELAV that is coming up July 8-10.  He writes that, “ELAV is a safe environment for young people to have life-changing encounters with the Lord…. ELAV brings young Jewish, Arab, and Palestinian believers together so where they can meet each other, experience forgiveness and develop friendships…. ELAV gives an atmosphere for believing young people to gain freedom in their worship…. ELAV provides a young person time to hear the Lord speak about their calling and be challenged to live a life that makes a difference in society…. ELAV stirs their hearts with the vision to be a "light to the nations" through testimonies of young people reaching out with God's love.  If you want to get involved by sponsoring a young person to attend, please See more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Lastly we have an appeal from the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, a group a Messianic attorney with a prestigious Israeli legal firm who not only represent the causes of believers in Israel, but who also are advocates for the Advancement of Civil Rights, Freedom of Religion and (Biblical) Social Justice in the Nation of Israel.  The JIJ appeal is to be aware of the plight of children “as 2014 and 2015 have been some of the bloodiest years in recent history for children across the world.  The number one global contributor to these atrocities is evil Islamic terror.”

You should read the short appeal from JIJ inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary as they “continue to take a bold stand for the justice of children in our region.  JIJ is preparing two reports which we will present before treaty bodies at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. One focuses on breaches of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, and the second focuses on breaches of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict. We are hoping that progress can be made on these issues in 2015! …. Your donations give strength to our voice around the world!”

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

Continued prayers for Marc Chopinsky (surgery on the 10th); Arab Pastor Hani’s full recovery from broken arm & elbow; Ron Cantor’s prayers for 70-yr old mother-in-love for heart surgery first, then back surgery when able; also for one of the forefathers of the Messianic movement who shall remain nameless, whose health is increasingly deteriorating.  His wife needs help caring for him as he has become less able.
