Priority Prayer Focus Feb 18, 2015

The nations continue to be baptized into the fiery hell of Islamic hatred and terrorism that Israel has faced since is re-birth as a modern nation in 1948.  This has put individuals in nations into the proverbial valley of decision:  will we continue to receive and embrace the lies and false narratives about Israel being the aggressor against the victim Islamic “Religion of Peace’?  Whether it is nations, individual government leaders or citizens; whether it be secular or religious humanitarian organizations, or churches or denominations – the whole world is being forced to deal with the realities of the aggressive, conquering and brutal nature of Islam that has increased beyond the borders of their deeply hatred of Israel. 

Many do not recognize what is unfolding before our eyes and many still cling to the lies they have grown comfortable telling themselves and asserting over their nations, but Islam is the monster that God is allowing to wake up His own, and to separate the sheep from the goats by their own choices.  These are times to pay attention to what is happening in the world, and the most qualified to give you true spiritual insight into the meanings of these events rocking us week after week, are the men and women in Israeli ministry whose prayer letters we share here.  Let us pray for wisdom and clarity in understanding the nature of the war before us.

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Bearing much fruit in the Jerusalem and Tel Aviv congregrations, plus the prayer centers, evangelism, unity conferences, and international missions, Asher Intrater writes:  “One of the challenges is the pressure and stress on everyone involved. In last week's Torah portion, Jethro rebukes Moses for being too busy and putting an overload on himself and those around him. All of us felt an obvious rebuke from the Lord as we read it. 

"By a strange coincidence the word for that which in Hebrew is written the same as the name Asher which means blessed, happy.  So Jethro's rebuke in Exodus 18 could be read in verses 14, 17 and 18 as, 'What are you doing to the people, Asher?' 'This is not good what you are doing, Asher.' 'You will get worn out, Asher, and all the people with you.'  Ouch! I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. Please pray with us for wisdom and grace." 

We would like to urge you to watch the Part 1 and 2 of Asher Intrater’s teaching videos on Islam.  There are a lot of opinions expressed in the un-churched and the church world about Islam and how we need to respond to the dramatic rise of Islamic terror.  For example, worldwide since 9/11 there has been a five fold increase in terror fatalities.  Over the last 14 years, terror fatalities have increased from 3,361 in 2000 to 11,133 in 2012 and 17,958 in 2013.  Islam is growing into the greatest monster threat to civilization and still we have ridiculous yammering that calls Islam “the religion of peace.”  If you want deep insight into how to face both Islam and the denial of its murderous intent, please watch Asher’s Exposing Islam's False Claims and Addressing Islam.

Also, this week we have an excellent breakdown of the headlines last week with important developments in Yeman and the Détente between the Obama administration and Israel over the US Congressional address Israeli PM Netanyahu is to make.  The article by Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem, Iran Quietly Advances is in two parts which can be read in full inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.  Sarvis also gives specific prayer points for both issues.

Other Revive Israel notices this week are the invitation to for live web-stream of the annual Esther Fast from Jerusalem on March 4^th from 9 am to 9 pm Israel time; an invitation to the Tikkun International Israel Baruch Haba Tour April 28-May 7; and a report on the Auschwitz Conference that was held in Krakow, Poland at the 70^th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Eddie Santoro who leads the Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem reports that in just 3 months of fund raising they have reached their goal in the raising the remodeling funds for the new congregational meeting hall in the heart of Jerusalem.  The children’s area is still under remodeling, but will be complete in the next 5 months or so.  Santoro reports that already new faces have begun showing up for services and one first time visitor last week, after receiving a prophetic word, came forward for prayer and “seemed to receive new revelation on the grace of God and was deeply touched as we prayed for her. Please join us in praying that “S” would return next week and that she would be a "first fruits" of many new Israelis.”

 
This is a young congregation which has been pouring into the lives of young believers to build them up as a new generation of Messianic believers in Israel. Pray for them as they are stretched by the many responsibilities they give themselves to willingly.

Santoro, another Messianic Israeli with penetrating insight into the political and world events related to Israel, also shares inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.  One specific excerpt is that, “On March 17, Israel will again choose a new government. The election campaign is heated as the many political parties vie for as many votes as possible. It is hard to sort through the myriad of positions and arguments that each one puts forth, so please join us in praying simply that the God of Israel will set in His government over this nation that He so loves.”

Another important point Eddie Santoro makes: “Don't ever forget that the anti-Israel rhetoric and the lies that are so prevalent in this day are just a new mask on the ancient demon of antisemitism. The devil understands all too well that to destroy Israel is the most certain way to prevent the physical return of Jesus to this earth. Underlying all the politics concerning Israel and its enemies is the ever present truth that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of the evil in the heavenly realms.”

From the intrepid Ruth Nessim in Nahariya comes another great report from the northern border with Lebanon.  Pray for this border as Hezballah has a potential 100.000 rockets ready to send Israel’s way, plus the clear potential of attack tunnels which the army is searching out now.  Ruth as special prayers for the IDF soldiers – her own eldest grandson received his army beret last week and Lebanese pastor Najeeb, Ruth’s close ministry associate, his only son Tino will receive his army beret this week. 

Ruth’s special request is “that the Haifa Christian Soldiers' Center run by the Haifa Immanuel Church and Pastor Najeeb, will soon become a reality. We already have army backing and Government approval of the Charity, which is now Official. Please pray that the two needed Caravan-containers will soon become available, The ground is prepared, and rent up to date for the next six months, and water and electric already in situ, plus sewage connections. We really do need prayer backing for this, so that the first soldiers will soon be able to come and find a home and spiritual advice.”

Ronit Bender says she is on the road to recovery after surgeons removed her appendix (which was already detached and hiding from them!)  She is happy to be able to get back into her ministry on Mt Carmel, in worship, intercession and in personal evangelism.  This is the primary way believers in Israel have to share the gospel with others – literally as “living letters” sent among the lost sheep in the Land. Pray for Ronit and all the others in Israel who are making a difference in the lives of their neighbors, countrymen and families. 

One interaction she relates, “my friend Rita and I went down to the beach for a belated birthday breakfast. On the way back to our congregation, next to the Haifa university, we picked up a woman who needed a ride to Isfiya where we were heading. It was an 8-minute drive and she got born again on that trip. We invited her to visit our Kehila. It happened so quickly.  The point is: people are open, and ready to receive Yeshua as Lord. We need to be there to share it with them.”

Rachel Netanel is also an evangelist in Ein Karim, just outside Jerusalem.  She writes, “I am so very grateful that He came into my life and I cannot help but to shout about Him as it is like fire in my bones and nothing can prevent me from speaking out to everyone that He sends my way.” Her home with her husband Gilad has become a place of ministry, with many gathering there for meals and teaching just as we read about in the Acts of the Apostles.  They also travel to En Gedi every two weeks to minister to and teach a home Bible study.  Pray for this very fruitful ministry who are not only going out into the highways and byways to reach Israelis with the gospel, but who are also becoming as a mother and father to so many as they nurture them in the word and ways of the Lord.

Barry and Batya Segal of Joseph’s Storehouse and the JNN/Jerusalem News Network make an appeal for funding help with meeting the needs of Israelis in poverty.  They write, “According to the most recent findings, some 2,546,000 poor people live in the country, or 31.6 percent of the population, including 1,613,000 adults (29.8% of the total), and 932,000 children (35.1% of the total). Please continue to help willing hands and hearts at VFI rebuild hope and provide for the nation’s poor.”  More details inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary

From their JNN news report of 2-8-2015, they note  a Jerusalem Post article that says “The EU is acting illegally by funding more than 400 unauthorized Palestinian homes in 17 locations in Area C of Judea & Samaria, which was placed under Israeli jurisdiction during the Oslo Accords, say an NGO, international lawyers and MEPs. . . . Official EU documentation reveals the building project is intended to ‘pave the way for development and more authority of the PA over Area C (the Israeli area)’, which some experts say is an attempt to unilaterally affect facts on the ground. The EU logo is placed on the structures in the belief that this will prevent Israel from demolishing them, and thus far the Israeli government has not removed the buildings hoping to avoid a diplomatic tangle with the Europeans.”

Further, “NGO Regavim claims EU support for these structures is part of a Palestinian plan to gradually take control of large parts of Area C, the 60% of Judea & Samaria that, according to the Oslo Accords, is under full Israeli control. (Jerusalem Post/Daily Mail) Pray this UN hypocrisy will be widely exposed and that illegally built structures on Israel-controlled territory will be promptly removed.”

Ye’shi Reinhardt, who heads the humanitarian air for terror victims (Hands of Mercy) and the ministry to the bombarded citizens of Sderot (Tents of Victory), gives a short review of their many outreaches to Israeli with new clothes, household goods and food supplies including a nutritional children’s lunch project in the local school systems.

Ye’shi writes, “With our municipality over 100,000 shekels ($25-million) in the minus, little remains for the social services to adequately support families who suffer in our city. For this, we at Hands of Mercy are honored to reach out through our Crisis-Counseling Program, offering 'holy' advice and crucial assistance for the needy.  Reaching out also within their homes provides essential care and a source of hope to many in the name of the L-RD.”  Find out how you can help inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary
