Our focus continues to relate to the intention of the Palestinian Authority to seek UN recognition for a Palestinian state over Sept 20-22. The run up to the convening of the UN has been intense over past months, spawning new flotilla runs, smear campaigns against Israel, terror attacks and the emotions and tactics continue to be ratcheted up.

Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You? They gather together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood. But the LORD has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge. He has brought on them their own iniquity, And shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The LORD our God shall cut them off. Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

The closer we get to the date set for the Palestinian bid for statehood at the UN, the more intense becomes the news and emotions surrounding it. Whether the UN recognizes PA statehood or not, there is threat of a continued rise in terror attacks against Israel. Please pray for the nations that can tip the scales against this move by the UN – even the kingdom of Jordan is warning against the unintended consequences. And pray for God to limit violence surrounding the coming vote.

According to Calev Myers who is the initiator of the Durban III protest in NYC at the UN on 9/21: The UN has moved dates around a few times, which has created difficulties to say the least for planning our event. As things stand, I understand that the following is the updated schedule:

Sept. 20 – vote in General Assembly on Palestinian state.
Sept. 21 – vote in Security Council on Palestinian state (expecting US to veto).
Sept. 22 – Durban III "Anti-Racism" Conference on UN Human Rights Council, in which Israel is declared an apartheid state.
Please Pray over these events – that nothing will come to pass before its time. God’s will for the matter to prevail.

Asher Intrater points to a new http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifbook by Dr. Michael Brown to underscore the fact that believers are in a pitch battle for the truth and moral good. Also pointing to the “Wanted” posters against Messianic believers in their town and media slurs against Israel for the recent terror attacks by Hamas. Pray for a rejection of lies that are twisted to portray truth and against the evil that is portraying itself as good.

Pray that the people of Israel would have a desire and love of the truth that would lead them to the Person Yeshua, who is the Truth. Pray also over the nations, that those with ears would hear, and those with eyes would see – ceasing to be dull hearted.

Pray for the Messianic kibbutz being developed outside of Jerusalem, Yad Hashmonah. Pray for those who believe God’s purposes for Israel’s salvation to invest in the housing and industrial development going on – even as Jeremiah 32 prophetically purchased a plot of land to show Israel would surely return according to the Word of the LORD.

Pray also for Eddie Beckford who will hear the final verdict rendered in two of the ultra-Orthodox nuisance cases against him. These are the last of the lawsuits (may they surely be the last) and after 3 ½ years under house arrest (to “protect” him against being accosted by the ultra-Orthodox), pray that the judge will render a verdict straight from God’s lips. They also ask for prayers over pastor Yakim and others in Arad being attacked and dealing with false charges leveled against them.

Thank God that among those in the crosshairs of ongoing persecution by anti-missionaries, each are reporting that it has served to stir up interest in onlookers who are pursuing them to know the truth. Some are getting saved – even in the ultra-Orthodox and Muslim community watching these matters.

The Beckfords also ask for pray for the Jerusalem Awareness campaign planned for Oct 11th in Jerusalem. It is a 2-hour solidarity demonstration to bring awareness to the persecution going on of believers in Israel, with an open invitation to tourists and believer-Israeli citizens.

The reports are flowing in from several places over the great blessing that the youth and young adult ELAV conference was in mid-August. One of the most powerful testimonies of the event came when an Arab House of Prayer leader led 500 Jewish and 150 Arab youth in an Elijah call to receive the fire of God.

This week secular sources predicted that Arab Christians would cease to exist in the territories within 10 years due to intense persecution and even murders. We know this is NOT God’s will, but His will is that the Christian Arabs would be fruitful and multiply! Pray for the protection of the Holy Spirit over all these young Arab believers – and their leaders and fellow Christians – that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

Are you feeling the pinch of economic downturn? So are the Israeli ministries. As one wrote, “Pray also for our daily bread - it has been a difficult summer, but we trust God's faithfulness and provision to meet our needs. “

Barry & Batya Segal talk about the quarter of a million protestors who took to the streets in Israel because of the high cost of living and crushing poverty in Israel’s poor and middle class. For many Israeli ministries trying to meet the needs of their congregations and communities, this was no newsflash, but to many it may have looked like just rabble rousing from the Left. Pray for BELIEVERS who donate funds to Israel to give the Messianic channels FIRST PRIORITY. Let the blessing flow from those bearing the Name of YESHUA.

Calev Myers of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice speaks inside the attached Weekly Summary of terror attacks ahead of the Sept UN bid for Palestinian statehood. There are now a coalition of 30 organizations that have joined the JIJ in its pro-Israel demonstration called DURBAN III. Pray for a huge turnout in New York for the Boycott Durban III demonstration – and good media coverage of it, as well as political impact.

Pray also for Calev’s dad, Messianic rabbi John Myers who is representing JIJ in speaking engagements. John is suffering from eyesight problems and has had two surgeries to prevent detached retina – now to begin having problems with the other eye. Pray for a healing touch for John - complete healing!

September 22 when the UN convenes it is the intention of the Palestinian Authority governing only the West Bank, to make a bid for UN recognition of a Palestinian State. There has been much groundwork laid to reinforce the attractiveness of a UN recognition – the flotillas, the Durban “anti-racism” conferences, etc. Yet the reality that before the crucial vote, the terrorists in Gaza could just not refrain from major attacks on Israel, shows us Psalm 2:1-6 in motion:

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. ...Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion.

Pray for the Messianic Jerusalem Institute of Justice-led demonstration (with Eagle’s Wings & World Zionist Org support) that will take place SEPT 21 in NYC outside the UN to protest anti-Israel Durban III. If you can be there join in, if not pray for a major impact to be made by those on site.

Most of the prayer letters Israelprayer received over the last week deal with the terror attacks and rockets flying into Israel from Gaza. Even though at this writing there is a tenuous ceasefire, many of the prayer requests will still hold over the next month or so – especially as the PA goes to the to be recognized as a state.

The New Reality | Yesterday’s attacks were a stark manifestation of the new reality that Israel faces. For the past thirty years since the signing of the peace treaty with Egypt, Israel’s southern border with Egypt has been predominantly peaceful. With the fall of the Mubarak Government last spring, the radical Islamic forces have obtained a new freedom.

Please pray for Israel’s leaders. The current situation is volatile, unpredictable and dangerous. They need great wisdom as they respond to the current aggression against Israel and develop new strategies to deal with these new realities.

Also pray against the forces of Islamic Jihad, the world wide movement that is causing death and destruction throughout the earth. The attacks in Israel, the continual call for the destruction of this nation and the terror that pervades the whole earth are all part of a radical Islamic strategy that seeks the destruction of all western democracies, and ultimately world domination and control.

From Beer Sheva: “I do not believe that any believer is exempt from being harmed, either directly or indirectly. What will distinguish us is our reaction and response in the event of personal suffering, and how we relate to others who do suffer.” Pray for the Body of Messiah to be under the Abba’s protective wings & prepared to meet the needs of those terrorized and/or harmed.

Pray for the diplomatic front: “…there has been a major escalation of tension between Egypt and Israel.”

“The already fragile Israeli-Egyptian relationship is now further jeopardized as the Egyptian lack of will or ability to stop the terrorists speaks loudly of their future intentions towards Israel. It also reveals the inherent danger and delusion of peace treaties with Muslim-controlled countries. The peace treaty on paper will not control terrorist attacks, and cannot prevent a takeover by more extremist Muslim forces in the future.

Pray for the media coverage: “Every missile that is fired into Israel is aimed at civilian targets. The inequality of the world’s response to this fact must be exposed…. The beginning of this event was the unprovoked terror attack and murder of eight Israeli citizens in southern Israel by Palestinian terrorists from Gaza. The Western press is already talking of an ‘escalating cycle of violence’. Please do not lose sight of the truth that these events are not "cycles of violence" but have a starting point.”

“Israel is increasingly finding itself in the situation it was in before the Yom Kippur War. It appears that the peace treaties between Israel, Jordan and Egypt are crumbling. More importantly, the attitude of those nation's citizens is increasingly filled with hatred of Israel…. perhaps the most dangerous part of all this is that the collective Arab ego is again reaching an understanding that this is the time that “Allah” has appointed for the destruction of Israel.”

“Please be faithful in lifting up Israel during this difficult period. We also encourage you to present the truth of the situation to as many as will listen. And finally be encouraged because the one who determines the destiny of nations is seated on the throne in heaven and He is not sleeping.”

This report from Ron Cantor about his wife “Elana and her mother were walking on the beach in Ashkelon on Friday morning when several Kassam and Grad Rockets flew over them from Gaza on their way to Ashdod. A Yeshiva (religious school) was hit and 10 people were injured.” Thank God for His protection!

Pray for the Israelis who live in the region surrounding Gaza: Only people who have lived with this ongoing threat for all the years since Israel pulled out of the Gaza strip can have the perspective that they do. Please pray for …all the families in the South of Israel who are under attack at this time.”

Pray for them, as well as for the Beer Sheva Bible House.

The Messianic Humanitarian Aid Hands of Mercy http://www.israel-handsofmercy.org/ has been helping Israeli who live around the Gaza region for years. They continue this important work and if you want to give to help victims, please prioritize your giving to Messianic-run ministries.

The Israeli Supreme Court has ruled against Palestinian villagers seeking to reroute a section of the separation barrier along the Jerusalem border saying the barrier is crucial to keep out terrorists – which it has brought to a virtual complete halt. Israel agreed to facilitate water and farmland access for the villagers.

Howard Bass writes something we strongly agree with: “Today Israel and Jewish people curse -- although not always knowingly -- both Jesus and those who believe in Him. And Israel herself finds the nations delegitimizing and cursing the truth of her existence, and her witness to the one true God -- even in her unbelief. “ Pray Israelis will cry out “Baruch haba b’Shem Adonai!” Blessed is he – including Israeli Messianic Jews - who come in the Name of the LORD!

Pray for the young adult generation of Messianic Israelis who are taking their strategic places in the society of their nation – whether as spiritual leaders or business leaders – this is a generation destined by God to mightily impact the salvation of Israel. Pray for them to excel with a spirit of excellence and the mantle for emerging as leaders as the prophet Daniel walked in.

Pray for the world’s only Messianic kibbutz in Israel which is seeking to develop as a housing development for young Messianic families and also as a strategic industrial park. “Because of persecution against Messianic Jews, establishing businesses is very difficult. Supplying an infrastructure through a Messianic-owned industrial park will enable new business and professional enterprises to be launched. And succeed. Please pray, as there is much spiritual warfare”

Young Israeli ministries continue to that the word of the Lord out of Zion – with ministries into the Congo and Italy. Nearly 1,000 Israeli youth plus over 150 Palestinians took part in the Elav Prayer & Worship gathering in Tel Aviv. Pray for lasting fruit and true bonds of brotherly love in all these young people.

Thank God for the continuing increase of believers from the East coming up to Jerusalem for the purpose of connecting with the Body of Believers in Israel. The last to come seem to be the first to recognize the significance of the witness of Yeshua in the lives of Israeli Jews.

From this time forward – despite all the conflicts with terror & Islamist states – the nation of Israel will be gearing up for the latter harvest Holidays – and for the peak tourist season. Pray for the hearts of their family members, neighbors, co-workers and friends to be opened in this season of get-togethers to the good news.

Pray for the Israeli ministries who are now booking speaking engagements – that God would open doors for them to connect with those who would pray and support their laborers. Also – that seeds planted in the past that have laid dormant or decreased since the worldwide economic downturn – would begin to burst forth blossoming with fruit. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof!

Romans 12:10 calls us to be “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.” And Galatians 6:10 urges us to “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

A hearing on the mental ability of anti-missionary bomber Jack Teitel to stand trial will be held on Sept 4th. The judge’s decision will not likely be shared at that time, but the Ortiz family expect to be notified by letter or by the prosecutor. It is very important that an open trial in this case is held and that Jack Teitel is not allowed to slip through accountability for his actions motivated by religious hatred – not mental instability!

On a personal note, over the past couple of years as I have read of the work and testimonies of the House of Victory rehab ministry of the Carmel Congregation, it often made me jealous for one of my relatives who desperately needs to be in that kind of program. Today he entered such a program here in Texas. Thank God for those who minister to the down and out, those with no hope BUT GOD.

Praying for what the enemy has meant for evil in the lives of Yeshua’s brethren to be turned to good. That no weapon formed against the believers and those who support them will prosper. That in the place plagued with lack – but persistence – God will open the windows of Heaven and pour out blessings that there is not room to contain. For every need to be met in the Name of Yeshua.

Unfortunately, Glenn Beck has stepped into it infuriating much of the Israeli public because of bad counsel he has received on the reasons for all the protests across Israel. Ron Cantor has written a superb and succinct backgrounder “The Real Story” behind the Massive Protests in Israel. The concern of many Israeli ministries has come in this week on Beck’s stumble in Israel. May the LORD turn to good what the adversary has meant for evil in this matter!

Cantor also asks prayer for the Israeli government to find a solution short of returning to socialism for the plight of the public welfare. Pray for the leaders – PM Netanyahu & Bank of Israel Pres Stanley Fisher – and the leaders of the protests. Pray for those seeking reforms to ease the pressure on the middle class – and for a just and fair outcome. Pray that God will use this difficult situation to cause Israelis to seek Him and find Him in Yeshua.

In news from Arad this week we have more of the same in terms of the 7 years of believers being targeted for relentless harassment by the enemies of the gospel. Also great news among the believers who continue the work of the ministry despite the hardships they live under with persecution. (See this video and ask yourself how you would like this to be your reality for seven years.)

Praise God for the new house of refuge for women in distress in Arad that Teen Challenge has helped one of the persecution targets, Polly S, to establish. Praise God for the new Christian pre-school for the Bedouin that starts in Sept and is 80% funded for the first year. Pray that God will send the teacher who speaks Arabic and is called to the Bedouins to complete the vision. (Teacher’s first year salary is already funded.)

Thank God for insights given to Figueras who lead a congregation in Arad by an insider contact, that helps them better understand the spiritually wounded and oppressed condition of the sect that has targeted them for persecution. Such insights give us the heart to pray for our enemies and those that hates us and despitefully use us. These insights are worth only available in the subscription only Weekly Summary. Look under the prayer excerpts from the Figueras.

They write of the Hasidey Gur: “It is essential that you pray for these people to be freed from this bondage of religiousness, which has bound them for generations…. They are a people that live under fear - not the fear of God… but the fear of their religious leaders! The community is corrupt to the core and something has to be changed!”

Pray also for the police in Arad, who are showing signs of recognizing the false accusations of the persecutors against the believers. This would be a major step in protection if the law enforcement and legal system recognized the injustices against the innocent. (They do not because they have been led to believe that any Jew who believes in Yeshua/Jesus is not “innocent” but an enemy of the Jewish people. Only the witness of Israeli Jews can overturn this mis-perception.)

Pray for those in Arad under major stresses from being targeted for persecution: a widow with a brain damaged child & aging mother, Olga; believing couple Eddie & Naomi; also for those facing court situations: Eddie (and Lura) Beckford, and Barry Punchard. There are many more believers in Arad who appreciate your prayers.

One Israeli pastor in the north writes: Most of our congregants work very hard during the year, many working shift work with long hours that leaves little time for family. Pray that these last two weeks of August will give them time to reconnect and get rested up for the coming year.


Pray for the seeds planted among the children, youth and young adults in the summer camps of Israel to bear much fruit and “be a catalyst for growth and change that will create a foundation from which we will be able to step out in service for others as a group.”

Praise God for all the funds that were raised outside of Israel to help Israeli and Palestinians from believing families attend the various summer camps and conferences. Without this help from outside these camps would be completely unaffordable for the congregations to put on or for the families to send their children to. Thank you to all who respond to the needs of the Body of Messiah in Israel.

As Howard Bass from Beer Sheva dropped into Sunday services at the evangelical Palestinian church in Bethlehem, he noted: “When the pastor noticed us, he asked me to come up to pray for the Lord's Supper which was about to be served following the worship in song. This is something which very much blessed a number of members of that church -- most of whom would probably be in favor of a new country called Palestine. I mentioned to the pastor later in his home that should that happen, what took place that day will probably not be able to happen again. There will be a heavy loss of fellowship if the world is allowed to have its way, and for those who would consent. “

Bass continues: “It is my firm conviction that the Lord will use whatever takes place over the course of the next month to serve His own purposes, and to bring even more of His people back to Him through Jesus, and to bring many others to new birth by the Holy Spirit through repentance and faith in the gospel.”

As the spiritual atmosphere around Israel continues to heat up with wars and rumors of wars, many Israeli congregational leaders are sensing the urgency to prepare their people and their storehouses to meet the needs of the people in times of great pressure on Israel. Several this week have spoken of the sense of a new war pending the Palestinian statehood bid in September – no matter which way it goes. Pray for all the needs these men and women foresee to be met – and those unseen needs also to be provided for.

From Akko’s Guy Cohen we get this request for prayer over transportation issues which is always an issue with their members and cannot be solved always with public transportation. Join the Harvest of Asher congregation in prayer for a much needed congregational van.

David Lazarus of the Jaffa/Tel Aviv congregation, Beit Immanuel, writes on this blog this week about 30 years of preparing young couples for marriage and children. Pray for the shepherds of Israel, pouring out from their own lives into building up strong, healthy individuals and families for the Body of the Lord.

We have an urgent prayer request out of the Carmel region for a dear sister, Brookie, who was healed of one cancer not too long ago and is now battling a new cancer in another organ – her liver. Pray that the God who dried up the cancer in Brookie before, will dry up the cancer again!

Congratulations to Jim Melnick of Friends of Russian Jewry and a great Stateside ally in the cause of the indigenous Israeli ministries. Jim has just been elected to a four year term as the International Coordinator for the Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism. Mazal tov, Jim. God has placed you for such a time as this.

Glenn Beck went to Israel with all the right, great intentions and no one that listens to him could believe anything other than his heartfelt support for Israel…but Beck has stepped into deep do-do with misstatements made in Israel.

The Israeli newspaper headlines are letting Beck have it for making terrible assessments of the current Tent City protests going on all over Israel. Why has this happened? It is because Glenn has been badly counseled of where to stand on the political issues by (1) Israel’s religious-political far right; and/or (2) Christian Israel supporters who likewise take their cues from Israel’s religious-political far right.

Combine that with the uninformed assumptions of especially American Christians that the political issues of the U.S. and Israel are interchangeable. Not so. This is exactly what comes from Christians not being rightly connected with the Body of Messiah in Israel.

Instead of just condemning Beck, I think most of us can agree that this is a situation that could really use prayer cover – because it is hurting the cause of Christian support of Israel in the eyes of the Israeli public and because if Beck does not come to grips with the true facts, he – and many of his Christian Israel supporting followers could become offended at the very ones Yeshua is wanting to save in Israel.

What the adversary has meant for evil, may the LORD of the armies of Heaven turn to good for the salvation of the Israel. May Beck’s heart drop its self-defense and hear the truth, and act accordingly to repair the damages that he has set in motion with ill-advised comments – in the Name of Yeshua, and to His glory.

Many in the Israeli Body are urging prayer agreement for the several dire situations that have been dominating the headlines recently – from the debt crisis in the U.S. to great unrest and violence in the nations surrounding Israel; from the demonstrations that have broken out in Israel over housing to the bid for Palestinian statehood in September – these are all serious situations with ramifications for Israel.

As Evan Thomas wrote from Netanya: “The nation is divided in its political position as is the Body of Messiah.” So … “how then shall we pray? Firstly, of course, as the Spirit of God leads. Nevertheless, please take into account that amongst our neighbors in Syria, Lebanon and Egypt there are many people suffering extreme hardship. Pray for the children, grieving the loss of fathers (and all-too-often mothers). Pray for families that have lost homes and fields and are struggling to put food on their tables. Pray for the general populations of these countries who are suffering from the sense of betrayal from their own governments. Remember that what happens across our borders affects Israel also. Destabilization can quickly lead to rapidly spreading conflict and in the Middle East we are all highly militarized nations with very little love for one another…. Please take into account the real dangers – how little it takes 'thttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifo ignite the flame' that turns tension into violence.”

David Davis in Carmel writes that one immediate danger of the UN to create a Palestinian state is the reaction of Palestinians on the street to whatever transpires. He notes that the IDF and reservists are now on high alert and preparing for any contingency. Pray for the state of readiness to true, solid – and ultimately unnecessary! Davis recommends Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon’s short video for an explanation of the issues involved.

When events in the world are intensely swirling, anti-missionaries do not take a break from making the lives of targeted believers in Israel miserable. We have the report in that the ultra-Orthodox have stepped up harassment of Arad pastor, Yoyakim Figueras and his family. Pray for Yoyakim, Debbie and their six young children standing in daily provocations.

Eddie and Lura Beckford are facing one more court date in the ultra-Orthodox LAWFARE being waged against them on Sept 14. In the meantime however, the Interior Ministry refused to confirm Eddie’s citizenship status so the National Insurance denied to renew his insurance. His driver’s license was also refused renewal – both illegal actions due to black arts of bureaucratic treachery. Eddie is a diabetic – both the health insurance and driver’s license is needed.

Pray for the Elav Youth and Young Adult prayer and worship conference upcoming on the 14th. Pray that everyone that wants to come will be granted the permission from the authorities. These are powerful, important and too rare times for the youth to come together in worship.

As the summer is winding down and the really busy holiday and tourist season is beginning to be in the sights of the Body, join in agreement for all the inner-congregational ministries going on right now to disciple and touch each of the generations. Pray for the extended families of believers, that God would prepare their hearts for the receiving the Truth of Messiah.

Pray for the Zambian pastor who came to spend a month with Howard Bass in search of a spiritual father to learn of the Lord’s ways. It is as Zechariah 8:23, "This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies says: In those days ten men from different nations and languages of the world will clutch at the sleeve of one Jew. And they will say, 'Please let us walk with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'”
He came seeking the simplicity of living a devoted life in Messiah.

In Akko, the Harvest of Asher congregation has long been in the crosshairs of local opposition to the good news. Pray for their leader, who was born in the poor city he now serves the LORD in. For the answer to prayer request that cannot be safely shared here.

This is a situation repeated throughout the congregations of Israel: “Many are applying for jobs but have not been hired. Those who are self-employed need increase in business. Please continue to pray.”

As is this: “…we are asking you, our prayer warriors, to agree with us that we would continue to know the Lord’s strategy for the harvest of Israel in this turbulent time.”

“A call for a national fast by the believers has gone out for next week, Aug 8-9, coinciding with the Jewish day of mourning over the destruction of the two temples. The Body of Messiah, as priests representing our peoples before God, is called to intercede for our nation in the face of all the existential threats she faces.

“For us to have any authority before God on behalf of our unbelieving people, the believers must face squarely our own sins as God's people under the blood of the New Covenant at this time.”

We want to continue to lift up prayers about the intention of the Palestinians to seek recognition in Sept of a Palestinian state. Part of the orchestrated ‘mood setting’ for the UN will be UNHRC (Human Rights Conference) “Anti-Racism Week” – a week of Israel-bashing before the PA places its statehood bid before the UN.

This is a priority prayer issue – do not be distracted as some by the news that Netanyahu put discussion of the 1967 borders on the table IF the PA would drop its UN statehood bid. On Sept 21, the Jerusalem Institute of Justice (Messianic attorney Calev Myers & associates) will join forces with the World Zionist Organization, Eagles’ Wings and others, in demonstrations against the UNHRC Israel-hate fest, called Durban III. Please pass along this simple video explanation of why the UN is so incessantly anti-Israel. Take part in prayer and action to stop the planned Palestinian action in Sept.

Pray for the new international relations director of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, who is beginning to go out into the Christian and Messianic world to raise awareness and support for the important work of the JIJ in Israel – not only in Israel advocacy internationally, but also in representing the religious freedoms of believers in Israel, and all manner of civil rights and human justice issues.

Reports are coming in from many quarters about the wonderful time had by all in believers’ children’s and youth camps all over Israel. Many are still in progress, so let us continue to pray for the spiritual growth of their young Israelis and for those working among them to bring forth great fruit from the younger generation. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart from it.”

The Succat Hallel Youth and Young Adult conference is coming up Aug 14-16. Pray for this gathering – that all needs will be met, the gathering will be protected from those who oppose, and that God will pour out fresh oil upon all who take part.

From Beer Sheva we get word from the Messianic pastor hosting a pastor from Zambia for a month, who has come to see how Yeshua is walking among the Messianic believers of Israel. This is an up close and personal sharing between pastors, but many individuals and groups from the nations are coming to Israel to experience the nation through the eyes of the indigenous Body of Messiah. Pray for the desire among Christians to grow to connect with the Lord’s Israeli Body and to see what marvelous things He is doing among His people to bring all Israel to salvation.

In Beer Sheva there are still looming questions over the future of the Ha-MaKoM and Bible House – a valuable resource for the congregations of the Negev. Prayers are asked for a continuing witness of the true faith, and for the relationships between the various parties to be preserved for on-going co-laboring in God's vineyard.

Thank God for our Christian Arab pastor friend in Acco who was able to get his visa application granted – and not only granted but given a 10-year multiple re-entry visa. This will allow the Evangelical Baptist pastor to travel as he will this month in Texas, speaking to a group of regional pastors on the Gulf Coast. Thank God for pastors like this who are bold in the ministry of reconciliation we have been given, bringing the good news to his neighbors in northern Israel. Pray God will bless this man of God with faithful supporters wherever his foot shall tread.

One ministry in Jerusalem with a youthful congregation set their hearts to pray for an increase in immersions (baptisms). God has graciously been answering their prayers. This is a good prayer for the whole Body in Israel : that in all the congregations many would be plunged into the waters and arise again in as New Creations. The Jerusalem pastor asks for prayers over these Israeli disciples of Yeshua.

Continue to pray for the Israeli ministers and teams going out into the nations in a fulfillment of the original commission on the nation of Israel for all the nations of the world to be blessed through Israel. Israeli believers are going to the four corners of the earth fulfilling the Word and believers from the four corners of the earth are coming to the Body in Israel for a fresh anointing. These are times where blessing is poured from vessel to vessel to the building up of the whole Body.

Mazal tov to two young Israeli Messianic ministers – to Sean for finally receiving his full Israeli citizenship and to Ron who finally lived his dream of being able to preach his message entirely in Hebrew. Milestones in the real lives of those God has anointed to call Israel to their own Messiah and to be grafted back into their own olive tree.

Maoz Israel treated their staff to a 3-day retreat last month, leaving the heat and humidity of Tel Aviv for a time of touring in Jerusalem – like regular sight seers! This was an important get-away for the staff, a time to spiritually recharge and to download the future vision for Maoz ministry.

There are many small ministries in Israel – some we mostly never hear from – ministering to the prostitutes, the street people, the walking wounded families, the unmarried pregnant…all the usual human predicaments. But these are pouring out their lives to minister Yeshua’s love to His people Israel just as whole-heartedly as the largest ministries. Pray for God to meet every need and make Divine connections with those who will partner in their labors.

Many of the Israeli ministries reach out to meet not only the needs of their congregations, but also into the needs of their communities. The poverty rate is up in Israel with 46% of Israelis living under the poverty line being the working poor. Hard working individuals with low earning power making choices between food and medicine. Pray about where you are contributing funds into Israel – let the blessings flow from Yeshua’s Body.

We are all living in trying financial times, but one of the psalms of David says, “Blessed is he that considers the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.” A similar proverb says, “The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked does not care to notice it.”

Subscribers to this prayer points letter should not get the idea from how often I choose to mention the need to financially support the indigenous ministries of Israel that they are continually focusing on that issue. To the contrary. It is just that as I compile these wonderful reports each week, and also knowing the needs, I cannot help but wonder what would happen if the billions in Christian donations to Israel each year were even in part channeled toward the LORD’s workers in His Israeli harvest fields. So don’t get the wrong idea that they always have their hand out – it is me making sure you understand how great the need is and how worthy their labors are. “All Israel” will not be saved without their labors.

August 1-29 is the Muslim month of Ramadan and Arab governments in the Middle East are preparing for increased tensions and uprising. Pray the Lord would restrain the bloodshed & mayhem.

Islamists in Egypt have swept the idealistic young Leftists out of the public square and are demanding Shariah law for the government. Pray the Lord will raise up His banner of Yeshua in Egypt – the highway of the Lord’s righteousness prevailing over the plans of radical Islam.

As former Egyptian President Mubarak is tried from his hospital sickbed in Egyptian courts – pray that the world will see the inhuman and evil spirit behind those who would do such a thing.

In the 4/4/11 issue of Israelprayer Weekly Summary we told you about a 60 Minutes type news program in Israel that featured personal stories of how the Interior Ministry and anti-Messianic activist group, Yad L’Achim were working together to cause Israel’s Messianic Jewish believers untold troubles. One of the believers featured in that report (The Jewish “Big Brother” PT 2) was a young blind woman, Yarden, who Yad L’Achim picked up one day – not telling her where they were going – and took her to their Bnei Brak offices for a “talk”.

In April, my friends whom Yarden had been living with for a couple of years, Moshe and Katya Morrison, part of the pastoral leadership at the Tents of Mercy congregation in Kiryat Yam, told me, that Yarden had a much longer story than her segment in the news program and that they would tell me sometime. I am delighted that the time has come in the way of an article written by Moshe Morrison for the Tikkun monthly publication, Israel’s Restoration. You don’t want to miss Yarden’s incredible story.
