Arrows from Zion
Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel
Starting off this week with Dan Juster’s Special Report on Christ at the Checkpoint. I believe it is an important enough message
that I have given the full report and not just an excerpt. Many people in the international church heard
one-sided reports about the involvement of Messianic and some Pro-Israel church
leaders in this controversial conference which makes it imperative for the
participants themselves to also be heard.
Last week we also shared videos of Messianic
Jewish participants in CATC 2014 and 2012.
This week we are sharing a message given
by Dr. William Wilson who is the president of Oral Roberts University and
also addressed the CATC conference. At
about the 29-minute mark, Wilson switched from his prepared speech to talk more
from his heart and testimony. It was an
anointed message that spoke directly to the need (and obstacle) of the conflict
resolution between the people of God.
Highly recommended.
Last week we also mentioned the national
leadership meeting, Sitting at Yeshua’s Feet that was taking place in the Negev
immediately after the CATC. Howard Bass
follows up on that telling us that about 30 of the leaders participated and
blessed by the time alone together with God in the desert. Howard writes, “The pastor I referred to as
wondering whether we/he could take the Lord's Supper together with those he was
in such disagreement with, had a private conversation with one of them (and
there were many such private conversations between us during our time
together), and did join in the Communion together.”
This is important. We don’t all agree and have not “all come in the unity of the faith” as Ephesians 4:13 prophesies we shall, but we must in the meantime “discern the LORD’s body” – as we are whether we are in agreement or disagreement on many issues. (1 Cor 11:29) Sharp contention broke out between Paul and Barnabas, so much that they separated in ministry, but both continued to serve the Lord, and it is believed that they were ultimately reconciled. Whether this belief is accurate or not, Ephesians 4:13 indicates that the generation of the Lord’s return will come to such a unity. We just might be that generation.

Howard also mentions something that is
emerging as a concern her in the U.S., as well, and that is regarding the next
generation of young people following the Lord in true holiness because many are
being persuaded to cultural norms instead.
As Howard wrote, “The subject of
homosexuality was brought up as well because this generation is growing up in
an amoral society, where there is no 'right or wrong', even about those things
which, for believers in the Bible as the Word of God, God has spoken very
clearly and consistently. Please pray with us for these teens to choose to
follow Yeshua/Jesus with their hearts and with their minds and with their
bodies. He chooses us and we choose to
obey with faith or not.”
On Facebook, Kobi Ferguson of Yeshua Israel also added this prayer request to the discussion: “Let's believe for a move of God here in Israel, most here haven't experienced what their parents have. Having an experience with the living God helps make sense to the counter-culture radical against the stream standards of the Lord and the Gospel. We want it in Messianic and Jewish friendly, Israeli sensitive form, but many of us are in prayer for a good old fashioned holiness based, repentance and love move of the Spirit in the land. Coupled with strategic understanding lacking in many "revivals", we want an Acts 2, real deal outpouring! May it be Lord!”

The Tikkun-related ministries in Israel led by
Dan Juster, Asher Intrater, Eitan Shishkoff and David Rudolph are in the midst
of 4-days of fellowship and meetings with their associated leaders. Eitan writes, “We are at a very positive turning
point, seeking God for definitions and dynamics that will glorify Him in what’s
been pioneered here in the land (the networks of Revive Israel and Tents of
Mercy). Thank you for holding us up in
prayer as we open our hearts to God, believing for His design—especially as the
“fathers” see the “sons” stepping into primary leadership.”
Other family prayer requests Eitan raises: For their teenaged grandsons, “As sabras
(native born Israelis) from a Messianic family, they are especially targeted by
the enemy for destruction of body, soul, and spirit. Please join Connie and me
in praying for the fulfillment of their God-given destiny. Intercession is
needed for their spiritual, physical, and emotional protection.” He also asks for prayers for the upcoming
Katzir (Harvest) Passover Camp for teens.
Leon Mazin, one of the congregational leaders
under Shishkoff’s Tents of Mercy network, is in prayer for his mom, Maria (73),
not yet having fully embraced Yeshua as her Messiah, and hospitalized with growths
on her gall bladder. Please pray for
Maria – full salvation of spirit, soul and body.
From Jacob Damkani, Trumpet of Salvation in
Gilgal (Tel Aviv area), we have a look ahead at the biblical Feasts of the Lord
starting with Passover on April 14th. Damkani provides an overview of all the
feasts inside the attached Weekly Summary and also offers a Passover Haggada
for the “Telling’ of the Passover Seder meal.
Damkani also notes that “most of Israel does not have the Passah Lamb in
the Feast of Passover! What a tragedy!”
Pray with all the Israeli ministries during this season that the eyes of
their families, friends and neighbors will be opened to the identity of this
Lamb who is for their salvation.
News this week from the Arab Christian pastor
in Haifa, Pastor Najeeb Atteih, as they continue to reach out in their
community of Haifa and beyond. Najeeb
writes, “…we trust that you know and understand that our heart is to reach both
Jews and Arabs and anyone who needs the Gospel and to know the Messiah.” Najeeb writes of those who serve with them in
ministry and the Immanuel Bookshop – some on volunteer basis only because of
insufficient funds. It takes money to do
ministry and in Israel, whether Jew or Arab, the money just cannot be raised
from within the community they serve. It
must come from outside helpers in the international church. I would encourage you to read the full praise
report of how this group of Christian Arabs are doing what they can with what
they have. It is a good report.
From the Tel Aviv outreach ministry of Dov
Bikas to the drug addicts and homeless, is a very uplifting testimony by a mother
whose son became addicted to heroin. A
doctor herself, she knew there was very little hope her son would ever walk
free from his addiction, but she watched as he did after meeting the Aviv
Ministry and coming to the Lord. His
mother herself also came to faith and is not one of the most active volunteers
at the Aviv Center. Read this remarkable
testimony inside the attached Weekly Summary and get contact information on how
you can help this ministry of Yeshua to the most needy of the Israeli streets.
In the Arad Hasdey Yeshua congregation there
is an emphasis being placed on the children and young people of the
community. They are not trying to just
entertain the kids, but rather to train them up to serve and respect each
other.
There is a major focus in Israel across the spectrum of Israeli ministries towards praying for and preparing their children so that when they reach the mandatory military service age which both boys and girls participate in, they will not walk away from their faith due to the “great temptations to drift into the morals of the world.” As the ministry at Hasdey Yeshua notes, “Some are able to recover after such a fall but others, sadly, don’t return.”
There is a saying, God doesn’t have any grandchildren – only children. A faith that is only on the coattails of our parents is not enough to keep us. Our children must have their own a transformative encounter with the Living God. Pray for the children of the Israeli believers …and our own to remain faithful and true to God.

Hasdey
Yeshua also continues to minister among the Bedouin and recently held a “Mother’s
Day” for several of the women. Inside
the Weekly Summary we have photos of the gathering. It is touching in the simple act of friendship
that lets a “forgotten community” feel they are loved and appreciated. “Please pray for the light of Yeshua to shine
into their dark lives.”
Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the
tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli
believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:
- Leon Mazin, one of the congregational leaders under Shishkoff’s Tents of Mercy network, is in prayer for his mom, Maria (73), not yet having fully embraced Yeshua as her Messiah, and hospitalized with growths on her gall bladder. Please pray for Maria – full salvation of spirit, soul and body.
- David & Karen Davis of Kehilat Carmel ask prayer for their son, David, who was in a serious car accident in February and has a broken neck. We are thankful he is not paralyzed, but he still has intense pain and is in a strong neck brace to prevent further damage. They also ask prayer for Pam Singer, one of their deaconesses, as she undergoes knee replacement surgery on March 19.
- Shlomy Abramov of AwakeIsrael asks prayer for his wife who went in for a surgery, there was a complication and she almost died. She is home but Shlomy had to hire a 24/7 nurse. Miriam is very weak, anemic needing an infusion of iron to help in producing the blood. Doctors expect a month before recovery. They need a miracle.
- Arni & Yonit Klein of Emmaus Way request prayers for staff in the U.S. (Becky and Keith) and in Germany (Hannah). We reported the extremely serious injuries of Keith and of Hannah months ago, now in caretaking Becky is also suffering physical strain and pain. Keith is beginning to be able to move both legs a bit, but Hannah is still in intense physical therapy with pain spreading. They would appreciate prayers.
- Howard Bass at Nachalat Yeshua asks prayers for German (pronounced with hard 'g'), who suffered a stroke a couple of weeks ago. German is 83 yrs old, but has been in excellent health.
- Brian Slater’s wife Racheli Has Risen to Her Feet, Halleluyah! She has not been home for over 70 days, except two 24-hour visits and it potentially is looking at an additional 30 days away from home, depending on the speed of her recovery and healing of her bones, in Yeshua's Name!
- Four elder ministry leaders in Israel, are dealing with Parkinson’s which is a neurological syndrome. Since they have not shared this information, I will just ask for you to please pray for them each to be able to continue to live normal lives, and for the hand of the LORD to bless them with healing.
- Harvest of Asher Elena has passed into eternity. Please continue to pray for Marina and her grandmother who have just come to the end of the seven day mourning period Elena. Please pray for a 11-yr old autistic boy who functions at a high level, but has declined emotionally with a change in schools this year. Pray for Marina & her daughter suffering from a genetic hearing disease.
- Please pray for the wife of Ariel Ben David, who leads an Eilat Congregation, and also for his worship leader, both of whom were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Pray for Ami Ortiz for ongoing issues from the Purim 2008 bomb blast – all this time later there are still painful procedures, lack of recognition from the government of this terror victim status.

Praying the Headlines
1. Pray
for the Jews in the Crimea and Ukraine.
News reports show an uptick in violence against Jews in the midst of the
upheaval as Russia begins to attempt to reconstitute the Soviet Union. If God
is calling Jews out – pray they will hear and heed.
2.
Pray for the Syrian people who are caught in the
crossfire of two brutal competing entities struggling for the dominance of
power. As Eitan Shishkoff put it so
eloquently: “there are now 9 million (!) Syrian refugees as a result of the civil war
that is ravaging that nation. These have
been driven from their homes and are struggling to merely survive. Let’s not be hard of heart. God cares for these people. I want to pray that this conflict is brought
to a swift end and that God has mercy on those who’ve had to flee, hoping for
safety. I am also praying for the
pastors and their flocks, the Christians who are being ruthlessly persecuted
for their faith.”
3. Pray
for the Israeli government and military as they face heightened aggressions
from the northern and western borders, as well as a continuing countdown on
action to neutralize Iran.
4. Pray
for stability in Egypt as the new government seeks to neutralize the Muslim
Brotherhood. . . .in ways that may be too overwhelming even for international
observers who prefer military rule over Muslim Brotherhood rule.

Ron Cantor has written a series of blogs as a response to Dr. Gary Burge's message given recently in Bethlehem: Last week Dr. Gary Burge, professor of New Testament at Wheaton College, debated one of my closest mentors, Dan Juster, on the subject of Dialogue on Replacement Theology. This took place at the controversial biannual conference Christ at the Checkpoint in Bethlehem.
