This week it is clear that the battle for the truth is raging with it seems too many pushing extreme viewpoints rather than the simple beauty expressed in so many of the reports this week of unity and brotherhood potential of Arab and Jew bound by brotherly love in the Messiah.  

The truth is definitely not relative – there is a truth to all the great debates in the Body worldwide, but it is God’s mind, not our private prejudices or misunderstanding of who He is. The testimony of Messianic Jews and Christian Arabs who love and support each other is one of the most powerful testimonies I have ever seen of the power of Yeshua to heal.

Let us pray for all those believers who are living on the extreme of the issues and missing the heart of God for Jew and Gentile made one in Messiah.  Peace in the midst of the storms.  

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Eitan Shishkoff eulogizes the life of the contemporary “Righteous Gentile” Ken Crowell, who passed into eternity in Israel several weeks ago.  Shishkoff recalls the tremendous witness of a Christian businessman in Israel not only generating much need jobs for the Israeli economy, but also was a man who stood arm in arm with the Body of Messiah in Israel.  Read Shishkoff’s tribute to a man held in the highest regard by believers throughout Israel.

Continue to pray for the Haifa congregation who are still in the midst of negotiations to purchase their congregational building.  The leaders are asking for Divine wisdom and clear leading to know the way they are to go.  The finances are in – but are legal hassles a caution sign.  Pray for the LORD to answer their way forward with peace.

Spring is right around the corner, which means the tourist season will again kick into full gear in Israel.  Pray for all of the Messianic ministries who are conducting tours, conferences or just making themselves available to visitors from the four corners to the Holy Land.  Pray for the LORD to bless the connections that are made in this pilgrimage season of 2012 – that deep connections would forge and the Holy Spirit would reveal the importance of these bonds to the salvation of Israel.

While the trend in much of the Body of Christ is taking extremist views either siding with Palestinians or Israelis, the heart of God is expressed in the witness of Palestinian Christian and Messianic Jew able to stand in an honest embrace of brotherhood in the Messiah.  This is the testimony offered inside the Weekly Summary by a Revive-Israel team member.  

Likewise it is the testimony of an Arab pastor in Nahariya who has worked side-by-side with one half of a pioneering Messianic couple in Israel.  Pastor Najeeb’s report on the persecution of Christians throughout the Middle East will bless all of you who may not understand that many Arab Christians are operating in love and peace with their Israeli Messianic spiritual family.

Anti-missionary group Yad L’Achim is putting up posters in several cities around Israel warning tourists that missionaries are not welcome.  The posters are apparently a backlash to booklets that have been going out to residents in different cities that are a study of Bible prophecy and current events and ends in a study on sin and the blood atonement.  The mailings are apparently coming from inside Israel, but it is not clear exactly who is behind the booklet.  In the past mailings like this in Israel has released aggressive push back from anti-missionaries. Pray for God’s will to prevail over all the details of this developing situation.

Last week we passed along a great article by Ron Cantor on the Messer Torah-wrap situation.  This week Revive-Israel shares that after praying for God to turn to good what the enemy meant for evil, along with an Israeli newspaper report U.S. Preacher's Ceremony Offends Jews, Ynet ran a side-bar repeat story that featured Jesus Lives on in Jerusalem, a balanced and favorable report of Israel’s Messianic Jewish believers. 

Heart of God Ministries notes that over 6,000,000 Jews still live in America.  It seems possible that only persecution will move them to leave the comfort of their homes and to come home to their inheritance, Israel.   Making aliyah will be a major focus of the upcoming summer tour for this ministry that says pray, "They will follow the LORD; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west." Hosea 11:10  

In Tel Aviv the Sorko-Ram congregation is giving young people from around the country the opportunity to take over to minister once a month.  Ron Cantor and youth leader Moti will be overseeing the ministry time.  Pray for the valuable on-the-job training that will be going on in these services.

Also Ron Cantor shares his time with Pastor Umar Muline, the Uganda pastor that was doused in buckets of acid by Muslims crying “Allah Akbar” after a church event.  The Israeli Prime Minister flew the pro-Israel pastor to Israel for medical treatment and Cantor was able to spend time with the pastor who has a powerful ministry in Uganda.  Read it online here.

In Acco, the Harvest of Asher congregation is giving thanks for clothes they were able to distribute from their Soup Kitchen.  These are important outreaches into the community as many Israelis are under the poverty level.  Pray with the congregation which has a big vision and big heart to minister to their city.  “About Asher he said: ‘Most blessed of sons is Asher; let him be favored by his brothers, and let him bathe his feet in oil.” DT 33:24

From the city by the sea, Tel Aviv, the Dugit outreach will be hosting a breakfast for all Tel Aviv area pastors on the 17^th.  They will then join in prayer together at VIP Prayer Tower along with Tom Hess of the Jerusalem House of Prayer for all Nations.  Pray for this gathering, and also for the monthly gathering of ministry leaders in several cities. 

Also from the Adonai Roi congregation, Chaya has begun a weekly women’s discipleship program to strengthen the congregational women in the Lord.  At the end of Feb, the will also host a 2-day Roundtable Women’s Conference for all the wives of Israeli pastors.  Pray for the Lord to refresh and bless all the ladies who are partnering with their husbands in the building up of the Body of Messiah in Israel.

We are so encouraged by the reports of Pastor Najeeb in Nahariya of how God is moving among them in salvations and deliverance.  Recently they were able to raise up a sister congregation in Nazareth.  They have a vision for congregations in Ramleh and Jaffa and the pastor says it is not for lack of laborers – they have a fully trained theological graduate but for lack of funding he works in a sausage factory. 

Pray for the young Palestinian mother in the territories with a year old baby who was set free from depression and tormenting dreams.  Someone told her if she could get to Pastor Najeeb he would help her.  She came over Christmas to the Bible shop and they visited her in the territories recently where they found her depression free and eager for fellowship.  Pray for this young woman to be rooted and grounded in the love of Messiah, and to be the first in her family to follow Yeshua with her whole heart.

The traditional Esther Fast before Purim is coming up soon and Revive-Israel is inviting prayer groups and intercessors to join with Messianic congregations and prayer houses for a 12 hour intercessory fast planned for 6 AM to 6 PM Wed, March 7 (Israel time).  “The race to acquire nuclear weapons by Islamic extremists provides an eerie background to this year's Esther fast.  The book of Esther describes a potential genocide of the Jewish people in Persia (Iran); but it was turned miraculously into an international revival, foreshadowing events of the end times.”

Pray for the borders of Israel on all sides not to be penetrated.  Pray for the young (and older) soldiers who are on patrol of the borders, that God will give them wisdom and warning of danger.  Pray for the citizens who live around border areas to be under the cover of the Most High and protected from any sudden ambushes.  

Maoz ministries shares that Israeli leaders on Thursday delivered one of the bluntest warnings to date of possible airstrikes against Iranian nuclear sites, adding to the anxiety in Western capitals that a surprise attack by Israel could spark a broader military conflict in the Middle East.  “Pray for Israel's political and military leaders - for wisdom to correctly assess the situation and make the right move one way or another.”

We believe that because of the purposes and promises of God toward Israel, that even though the government leaders do not yet know Yeshua as Messiah, that nevertheless an anointing rests upon the office of the Prime Minister to lead and protect Israel.  That does not mean that every thought is the “mind of Messiah” but that “the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord.” Proverbs 21:1  Pray for Benjamin Netanyahu and for all those in leadership positions in Israel to heed the direction of the still, small voice of God.

Isa 57:13b-14 "...but he that puts his trust in Me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;  And shall say, Build up, build up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people!"

Pray for the trust level of each and every believer in Israel – Jew and Arab – to increase in the LORD that they will possess all the promise of God in Messiah and fulfill the calling of God on each and every soul to the fullest.

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Thanks be to God for pouring out abundant rains on Israel in January and February.  The Sea of Galilee, which Israelis refer to as the Kinneret, is Israel’s main water source.  After the wettest January since 1947, the water level raised almost 22 inches, or 55 centimeters!  After 4 years of terrible drought more rain is needed, but praise God for this wonderful outpouring and may it be paralleled in the Spirit as well!

In the midst of the great threats that are intensifying against Israel in the deep turmoil of all her Muslim neighbors, David Davis from the congregation on Mt Carmel reminds us of precious promises – the sure word of the Lord such as Isaiah 19:24-25:  "In that day Israel will be one of the three with Egypt and Assyria - a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the Lord of Hosts shall bless, saying, 'Blessed is Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel my inheritance.'"

Davis writes: "As the Islamic nightmare rages around us we have the sure word of God that in the midst of the battle He will renew His body:  "But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

Pray for a fresh outpouring of the Spirit on the congregations of Messiah in Israel for a greater release of spiritual gifts and a refreshing in the presence of the Lord.  These are the front line troops in the preservation of the Israeli people – their spiritual health and strength is a priority prayer point for all of us co-laboring with them in the salvation of all Israel.

Howard Bass in Beer Sheva writes: “The mood in Israel is generally life as usual, being that we are used to these things all the days of our lives.  But when these things actually happen, and should the danger and horrors associated with war -- or with serious persecution because of Jesus -- then we will surely be tested regarding how strong our fellowship with God is and our commitment to do His work.  Pray for the building up of the Body to stand in the days of trouble.

There are reports from leaders of congregations in Israel in an increased intensity of illnesses, road accidents and marriage breakups of their members.  Please stand with us against this onslaught of the enemy and that we all will be renewed in this season, and “mount up with wings like eagles.”

For those “living in the periphery” – beyond the major population centers of the country – keeping in contact with the rest of the Israeli Body, as well as connected with tourist visitors who don’t travel to places like Beer Sheva in the Negev, means some Israeli ministries doing a lot of driving to keep up contact.  Pray safety in their travels – and also in the desire of ministry tourists to travel into the 4 corners of the Land to experience the real Israel.

There are also souls being rescued – some from lives of a narcotic underworld and addictions, others from the limbo of refugee status.  The Messiah is doing mighty works to save, set upright and give a future to those who were walking in dark and hopeless places.  The news from Israel is never just what the enemy is doing because the Messiah is also walking in the Land again using the feet of the indigenous believers!  Thank God for the good things He is doing through outreaches to women, to addicts and to troubled Israelis searching for the Answer to life.

Pray for those who have lost support commitments as mission funds rearrange or tighten in the economic downturn. These are not wealthy congregations and we know of both Jewish and Arab ministers who have lost mission support funding that has put a great strain on providing for their families.  Also Bible Book Stores that these ministers operated were targeted by the enemy.  Pray for God to open the hearts of new sources of supply – and what the thief has stolen be restored double to meet the needs.

Israelis are the most web-connected people in the world and many Israeli ministries are doing outreach via that medium.  Pray that the various media teams will continue to develop more creative ways to reach Israelis.  Pray that those in the nations with a similar vision will come alongside to support social media outreach in Hebrew.

Yeshua is moving also among the Arabs. One testimony from a Baptist congregation in the north is of a whole family of adult children who responded to the gospel after their mother requested her church members come to their homes to pray and bless them.  Another member from the same congregation saw his Muslim brother accept the Lord and begin discipling classes.  Thank God who is not prejudiced but extends His salvation to all.

In Jerusalem we have the report of a new House of Prayer watch that is underway for families who are training up their children in the way they should go.  Despite the sometimes “messy” appearances, the Fergusons who lead the prayer and praise watch report that fruit is already being borne in their own children who have been expressing intimacy with God – in the language of toddlers.  “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings You have perfected praise.”

Also in Jerusalem prophetic leader Asher Intrater shares a dream he had in late January of a battery of missiles launched at Israel from Iran.  Though believers were not fearful for their own sakes, they grew “to almost a panic” for the eternal destiny of those around them.  Intrater awoke with “an urgency to preach the good news from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.”  Read the dream excerpt inside the attached Weekly Summary.

Several lesser known ministries in Israel are starting tour dates in the U.S. Pray that God would grant Divine appointments for them and fill up their itineraries with fruitful meetings.  There are many lives being changed by small ministries throughout the Land of Israel.  Pray that every vision will be released through greater provision in the days ahead.

Please continue to pray for those Israeli ministry leaders (Orna, Eitan, Uzi, Ron and Arni) who are in the midst of writing or in final edits of books.  Pray for each of these spiritual leaders to be filled with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to complete the written works the LORD has put in their hearts. Pray for the discipline of writing to become a deeply motivated drive of inspired words from the overflow of the Spirit of the Lord in their hearts.

Shira Sorko-Ram writes extensively this week on the religious uproar that has broken out in Israel over the past month and a half over religious zealots who have become a law unto themselves and striking out at others they deem lesser.  This has been going on against the Messianic Jews for years, but the Israeli public are up in arms at the spread of lawlessness. Inside the Weekly Summary we share and excerpt “Canary in the Coal Mine” which deals specifically with what Messianics have been dealing with – and provide a link to the full article.

Sorko-Ram, as well as many others, see the current spread of religious fanaticism and persecution as the inevitable outcome of the failure of the Israeli courts to protect the legal rights of Messianics to worship without hostile invasions by the religious.  This failure was summed up in the verdict of the court case brought by the Beer Sheva congregation led by Howard Bass.  Please pray for me as I am also in the process of writing on the events surrounding that act of religious intolerance against the Body of Messiah in Israel.

Bass asks “Please pray for the Holy Spirit to convict Judge Ruzin of his missed opportunity, and for him and many of the Jewish people to seek truth and righteousness which would embrace other people and groups as part of the mix, and to not be held hostage by fringe extremist groups.  Ultimately, that they come to find this in the truth and righteousness of God in Christ.”

We know that there is a demonic hatred and onslaught against Israel that grips the ungodly throughout the world.  As Israel is targeted by demonic hatred in an attempt to thwart the purposes of God in Israel, so also, the Messianic Jews are targeted inside Israel by demonic hatred too.  This is because they are God’s DELIVERY SYSTEM within Israel toward fulfilling Israel’s destiny in the LORD. Pray for the Remnant of Israel – for Israel too will prosper and be sound, in the degree that her SOUL prospers.

Pray for all the ministries who doing outreach to Holocaust survivors whose days upon this earth are growing short.  Pray for a miracle in the hearts of these men and women whose personal trauma may only be healed by a revelation of Yeshua’s love.  Ask God to open their spiritual eyes and hearts to receive their Messiah.

Eddie Santoro of the Ahavat Yeshua Congregation in Jerusalem underwent surgery for “para-thyroid” disease on Monday.  He has already been released and is recovering well, but there were a few twists and turns.  Please stand in prayer that “PTH” hormones will level into normal range before the next scheduled blood test next week.

For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a torch that burns.  The nations shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the YHVH will name.  You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, [My Delight Is in Her] and your land Beulah; [Married] For the LORD delights in you, And your land shall be married. . . .

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

The true strength of every nation on the face of the earth is the believing remnant within it. This is also true of Israel although many Israel-supporters of the world do not grasp the significance of the indigenous believers in Israel.  We have a lot to say about “Replacement Theology” but this tendency of believers supporting Israel while at the same time completely ignoring the Body of Messiah IN Israel is itself a harmful form of replacement theology.

Our first offering in the attached Weekly Summary comes from a second-generation Messianic ministry in Israel and he is speaking to what God’s calling on the “righteous, prophetic remnant within Israel” is toward all Israelis. No one from the outside can do what God has positioned the indigenous Body in Israel to do. (And by “outside” I mean more than physical location. Gal 2:8) We must come to acceptance of that truth and lift up their arms to fulfill their calling to all Israel.

Off the beaten tourist bus paths of Jerusalem and the Galilee, the Israeli people whom God loves are being ministered to by small ministries who are mostly unknown to the Christian community that participates in supporting Israel.  These are doing to work of the Lord in dangerous areas – like on the northern border with Israel or in the dangerous region that missiles from Gaza are reaching. Sometimes is seems Christians are overly interested in ministry to the religious in Jerusalem, than the common folk in the rest of Israel.  Yeshua did not park his ministry in Jerusalem and the common folk He said would enter the kingdom before the religious.

Pray for the smaller, least known ministries throughout the Land of Israel to be encouraged in the LORD and in the greater Body of Christ.  That they would be granted grace for their work and included in the provision of the literally billions of dollars Christians are giving toward mostly non-believer works in Israel.  At some point, the Body is going to mature past the Jerusalem-only, religious-only fascination and get the heart of Yeshua for ALL Israel. How long, Lord?  How long? 

From the north in Acco we received the report of The Harvest of Asher congregation which is doing leadership training on several levels and building strong ministry foundations among its people.  This congregation has been in a conscious mode of preparing to be ministry outreach and resources for their city in the time of war everyone in Israel knows is coming.  Read inside the attached Weekly Summary how you can help.  Pray for all the leadership training going on it the Land, and for faithful, solid tiers of leadership to be raised up in all the ministries.

Please continue to pray for those Israeli ministry leaders who are in the midst of writing or final edits of books (Eitan, Uzi, Ron and Arni).  Pray for each of these writers to be filled with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to complete the works the LORD has put in their hearts.  Pray for the discipline of writing to be transformed into deeply motivated drive to set down into words all the overflow of their hearts.  (Please pray for my writing too as I have begun a comprehensive article on the Beer Sheva lawsuit – and a book after that!)

A new poll in Israel has shown that 80% of Israeli Jews believe that God exists, 65% believe the Torah and mitzvot (religious commandments) are God-given, and 56% believe in life after death. But that doesn't mean Jews in general are becoming more religious, at least not in an Orthodox Jewish way. … The numbers, however, coincide with other recent findings that Israelis are increasingly hungry for a deeper spiritual life.  Pray for Israeli Jews to find Him who they are really hungry for.

Eddie Santoro marks the 70^th anniversary of the Wannasee Conference where 15 Nazis drew up the practical steps of the genocide of the Jewish people with an article that puts those events into a spiritual perspective that is still relevant in the headlines of our day.  Read it online.

Purim – which the book of Esther is about – begins Wednesday, March 7, 2012, and ends in the evening of Thursday, March 8, 2012.  Revive-Israel is inviting intercessors, prayer groups and congregations to join in a 12 hour prayer and Esther fast from 6 AM to 6 PM Wednesday, March 8^th.  A prayer topic outline and details will be shared here in coming weeks.

Two Israeli Messianic congregations are helping to take care of the family needs of Umar Mulinde who has been flown to Israel for medical treatment after being attacked with acid at his church in Kampala, Uganda.  Mulinde, a Muslim who was trained to be an Imam, came to faith in Yeshua after a supernatural revelation.  He was attacked on Dec 24^th after 300 people received Yeshua at the church he pastors.    The Israeli Prime Minister’s office intervened and had Mulinde flow to Israel for treatment. Dan Juster gives perspective to the news stories rocking Israel over the past month as the ultra-Orthodox increase in violations of the human rights of Israelis.  Messianic Jews have been targeted by these types of violations for many years, but now the nation is up in arms at the attitude of religious zealots that they are a law unto themselves.  Read in full here.

Keep Ariela and Sophie in your prayers as the go through weeks of isolation as cancer treatments are administered that place their immune systems at high risk.

Pray for the wives of the Israeli congregational leaders and ministries.  Although the husband is most often the face of the ministry, the wives are truly partnered in the work of the ministry.  Also, according to 1 Timothy 5:3 Honor widows that are widows indeed.   Honoring mothers and fathers is a sign of the spiritual healthy.

Urgent Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue

Last week we were able to give you an update on Sophie Benson, Tom and Joe Shulam.  This week we have updates for Ariela in Arad and Brookie in the Galilee:

Ariela had a CT scan 10 days ago, which showed she still has growths in her liver and belly.  After that, they took a biopsy: The biopsy came back, and - it's a miracle - there is no cancer in the liver. The little cancer that is left in the belly, the doctors are hoping, will be eliminated with the new Chemotherapy they will be applying.  On the 2nd of February, Ariela will be hospitalized, and start a session of Chemotherapy, with a new medicine they haven't yet tried on her, a treatment that will take 10 days.  According to the doctors, her situation is OK and as expected.  They hope that by July, she will be all right. They are also grateful that the transplant was very successful. Ariela is full of hope, and even expects to start working again in July.  Thank you for all your prayers.

From a believer in the Galilee: I go to congregation with Brookie and she truly is a walking miracle. Her testimony of faith for her healing has spread here like wildfire. Her love for the Lord is contagious.

Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs.  Pray for God’s complete healing of Meir, Bob, Fruma and Katya at Maoz Ministries, Sofie Benson in Carmel/House of Victory, Ariela in Arad and Brookie in the Galilee.  Tom, Nataly and Larissa who have all recently been diagnosed with cancer in Carmel

Priority Prayer Focus

Romans 9, 10 and 11 are the most complete exposition of God’s purposes in blinding Israel to the promised Messiah in all of the Bible.  The apostle set down to explain the mystery that he warned Christians not to be ignorant of.  Now that the blinding of Israel is being removed, so much of the Church stands in need of blinders being removed to this great mystery.  Pray blinders are being removed on both sides.

Isaiah 6:9-10-11 And He said, Go, and tell this people, 'Hear indeed, but understand not; and see indeed, but perceive not.  Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.'  Then said I, Lord, how long?

Rom 11:32-33 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all.  O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Arni Klein received a word on last day of last year – Black & White being a prophetic sign of the coming year.  When Light and Darkness come in greater contrast the grey areas of motives and foundations are revealed. We have arrived at a threshold – let us draw near and see our own hearts in His Light. Read the full word inside the attached Weekly Summary.

Arni also shared a good word about the disappointing verdict that came in the Beer Sheva court case a while back when the courts did not protect the Body of Messiah from religious persecutors.  “In the natural, one might say it didn’t turn out well considering all the time, energy, resources, prayer, and heart that was sown during those days.  We generally expect victory to look a certain way.  As we perceived it that battle was not really about right and wrong or our reputation.  Our hearts’ desire was that the souls imprisoned by a cultish religious structure would be freed.”

Arni continues: Over recent months the darkness of the orthodox system has been front-page news.  The cover has been pulled back revealing their intolerance of any one different as being quite ugly and surprisingly violent.  Could it be that we are witnessing an unexpected face of victory?  Rather than this spirit being bound, it is being given more freedom so all might see it as it really is. … Beloved, this is a strategic time to focus our prayers on those that are hearing the Lord calling.  May this exposure be the push that gives those that really do love the truth the strength and conviction to make the break.” 

Pray for the Yeshua booklet written by a young IDF believer, along with his dad whose ministry in the Galilee is the Heart of God.  While this booklet is now at graphic design and translation stage, the young lion and his dad are already at work with the 2^nd booklet in the series to present the gospel from a Jewish perspective  and answering common Jewish objections to Yeshua.  Pray for God’s anointing on their work and the witness that is going forth.

This week we have several in the Israeli Body who are bringing forth original works designed specifically to speak to the Jewish people.  From Asher Intrater’s Who Ate Lunch with Abraham, to the One-For-Israel social network sites, to a new site launched the Restorers of Zion to address the objections of anti-missionaries, the Spirit of the LORD is surely stirring these waters.  Pray for all these whom God is using to establish effective tools for reaching Jews with the good news.

There is fruit that is already being produced from each of these – pray for those who have come to faith  for safety, humility, basic discipleship, congregational fellowship, and for their testimonies to stay pure and powerful.  Pray also for those in whom the seed of faith has been planted – that it will be watered, nurtured and bloom into full-scale new birth in Yeshua.

One of the mothers in Zion is lifting a banner for the prodigals – especially those prodigal children of ministries in the Land.  Let us join with her in proclaiming the return of the prodigals.  As it is written, ‘Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart from it.’  “Return, you backsliding children, And I will heal your backslidings.’ ‘Behold we do come to You, For You are the LORD our God.”

Revive Israel is inviting congregations and prayer groups to join in with the Messianic believers in Israel on the traditional Jewish Esther Fast on Wed Mar 7.  The will be providing details in the coming weeks for this strategic intercessory event.  Watch the Weekly Summary for further details.

We have three strong praise reports this week from believers who have been on our Urgent Need prayer list – Sophie Benson, Tom and Joe Shulam.  Each is reporting boldly, "People all over the world have been praying for me” and it is making a difference in their battles.  You can read the individual praise reports inside the Weekly Summary.  Sophie entered the hospital for a bone marrow transplant on Monday.  Pray that the LORD could complete the good work He has begun in them for healing.

Praise God that He is answering the prayer needs of the congregations in the Land, as Joe Shulam wrote so eloquently, “when the Body of the Messiah is working and being what it ought to be, and stressing the unity of the whole Body of the Messiah across denominational lines and across continents and across races, the power released is truly capable to move mountains.”  

The congregation in Acco has an answer to pray for translators in their service. On the Friday Shabbat service the coming week the congregation will host 55 Korean guests.  Pray for the blessing of the LORD to be on that connection. 

In Haifa and Nazareth, the sister congregations to Acco are also experiencing new breakthroughs and new challenges.  They ask prayer over the finalizing of their building purchase, and invite volunteer groups to come for short term ministry opportunities in the renovation work.  Read more inside the Weekly Summary.

We sent a DAILY Arrow from Zion out for urgent prayer for two Druze believer families last week.  We want to continue to pray for the believers who are living in their Druze communities. There are often times flare ups of violence against because of their faith in Yeshua.  Pray for the grace of God to sustain them, protect them and cause the Light of the Lord to shine in their villages.

Pray for the various ministry, theological and leadership programs that are being offered in various parts of the country – and various streams of the faith.  Some do not realize but just as there are many streams of conviction in Christianity, the same holds true in the Israeli Messianic community.  Like in the tradition of secular “sister cities” pray for like-minded streams in Christianity to connect with sister congregations in Israel for the furthering of the agenda of God for both.

It is not too early to begin to consider where to give toward distribution of Passover food baskets to low-income Israelis.  On unsaved rabbi runs TV ads with crying elderly immigrants in Israel and is likely the largest recipient of Christians donations to Israel.  But do you know he is also extremely vocal about opposing sharing the gospel with Jews?  Israeli Messianic ministries not only feed the poor, but they also do so in the Name and the power of Messiah Yeshua. Why debate which is good, better or best?

Again we ask for prayers for the elderly Jews – some Holocaust survivors, others beloved family members of believers.  Some have been near the gospel for years but have not made the decision for Yeshua; some are being newly wooed by the Spirit.  Pray for these dear souls to see Yeshua and step into eternity with Him.

The Caspari Media review supplies translations of Israeli news articles that do not appear in English, but are targeted for Hebrew speaking readers only.  Inside the Weekly  Summary are two summaries of recent articles about legal actions involving the Messianic attorneys at the Jerusalem Institute of Justice.  One involves a citizenship challenge won by the wife of our friend Tzachi.  The other a challenge to the tax exemptions that exclude religious minorities.  Pray for these important legal challenges – Daniel anointing on the attorneys!

There is no Israeli that is not alert and concerned with the rapid descent of stability in the nations surrounding them.  Like Job, the LORD does have a line that He will not allow the enemy to cross in touching Israel, BUT that is not to say that our prayers for Israel’s peace and protection cannot have a limiting impact on death and destruction.  Pray for great wisdom in Israel’s leaders and an Issachar anointing on the intercessors for Israel that they may praying with an understanding of the times AND with spiritual wisdom from Above.

Pray for the Jewish believers and the Christian Arab believers who do the hard work of reconciling as brothers in the LORD.  Pray for the LORD Himself to give breakthrough spiritual vision that allows His wisdom to be received and embraced.

Asher Intrater shares a short teaching called Light of the World that contains two of the most profound paragraphs I have ever read outside of the Word of God.  This revolves around the statement in John 3:19 “The light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” 

Israeli Street Evangelist Zev Porat, who will be speaking at Eitz Chaim Messianic Congregation on 1/28, also shares a video clip of his ministry work on the streets of Israel.  The grandson of a prominent Orthodox Rabbi Pinhas Porat, Zev is daily on the street sharing the good news – it has not escaped the notice of anti-missionaries.
