Pray for all of those in Israel who during these High Holy Days have been exposed to the good news of Yeshua, of God's love and of the personal testimonies of Jews reconciled with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob through the Messiah. Pray for many to respond to Yeshua's invitation to drink deeply from His well of living waters.

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel
This week we start off with Martin Sarvis
giving an explanation of the Feast of Sukkot, or Tabernacles. If you don't know much about the biblical
feasts, Martin generally gives a great in-depth explanation as he does here inside
the attached DOCX Weekly Summary. At the end of his excerpt are prayers that
Martin suggests:
*For protection of Israel during this week of rejoicing - both of native Israelis and of those who are joining us for the Feast. Pray for powerful praise to be released and for God to grant prophetic insight for those with ears to hear what His Spirit is saying to the congregations.

neighbors to pay a visit there.
*For
safety and a great blessing over all the believers from the Nations who are
coming up to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast this week. Pray that they release
what God would have them release-and receive what He would have them receive
while they are here. Pray for understanding and graciousness on behalf of Israelis
to welcome and be thankful for their presence here at this time.
*Many
Orthodox Jews follow a mystical Jewish tradition calling for special
hospitality: during this festival the spirits of various Patriarchs are said to
sometimes arrive unannounced as visitors (ushpazin) to the sukkot of the
faithful (This is in some ways reminiscent of the admonition to early Messianic
believers, that they "not forget to
entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels
without knowing it" (Hebrews 13:2).
*That
this week the awakening and convicting Holy Spirit of Yeshua (whom the
Patriarchs themselves longed to see) will truly visit many Jews in their sukkot
throughout the world!
Israel Pochtar also shares insights into the
Sukkot festival and also how Yeshua Himself took part in the Feast of
Sukkot. He notes that during the last
day of the Sukkot feast "the nation of Israel prayed for rain. The priests
would traditionally draw water from the wells and pour it over the altar as
they prayed for God to send rain, so that none may thirst and experience
drought.
Everybody understood the importance and significance of water, even when Yeshua spoke about spiritual thirst compared to the physical thirst and need for water." John 7:37-39 "On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. By this he meant the Spirit..."

will work in the hearts of the people who will join us for the outreach, and
that they will respond to the altar call to receive Yeshua (Jesus) as their

this report on their multi-congregational Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement,
gathering: "The five congregations
and their leadership were in exemplary unity.
The rooms at Yad Hashmonah were packed to the full. The presence and anointing of the Holy Spirit
through all the worship and teaching times was tangible. We had public readings of Jonah, Hebrews, and
Leviticus (from the Torah scroll). After
fasting all day, we ended with the blowing of the Shofar, with shouts of
"Baruch Haba." From speaking
in Hebrew to praying in tongues, the whole event was prophetic in nature,
filled with love, and honoring to Yeshua.
Something of historic significance is taking place."

From Evan Levine of the HaTikva Project: The
holiday season is upon us here in Israel as we celebrate Rosh HaShana, Yom
Kippur and Sukkot all in rapid succession. Everyone you meet wishes you a
sweet, happy and blessed new year and I pray that you will have one as well.
The sweetness of the new year has been marred by a mini-wave of violence in the
Jerusalem area mostly consisting of Palestinian’s throwing rocks and fire bombs
and passing vehicles. The government is currently enacting new rules of
engagement to help neutralize the threat. Please pray for the peace of
Jerusalem.
Also a report on one of the people HaTikva is lending a helping hand to which you can read about inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary. This is a worthy humanitarian aid outreach #1 in my book because it specifically seeks to help the needy within the Body of Messiah in Israel which is according to the instruction in the scriptures, Galatians 6:10: "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
Shlomy and Miriam Abramov are rejoicing in
their appreciation for God's provisions in their lives and ministries as "Sometimes
it seems our personal lives have been in the desert in some ways and this year
God has broken through!" They are
also happy at being able to give 30 bags of holiday goods to needy Israelis,
and also to be able to visit the sick and elderly in their city. This month a Hebrew magazine honored them for
helping others in their city. Pray for
the Abramovs to be protected in the way the Lord is leading them to reach their
city for the LORD.
We received a good report from the Yahav's of
the Peniel Fellowship in Tiberias. We
all experience obstacles that we have to battle our way through to do the
ministry...but I dare say the spiritual battle is increased in every way within
Israel. A good hearted report of this
from the summer camps is given to give us just a taste of what our Israeli
brethren go through. As Shirya Yahav
writes, " And this is not all, but enough to say that we value and covet
your prayers very much, as we often feel the enemy opposing the work but also
see how God always gives the way through it."
But that's not all because we also have a
really fantastic - even amazing - personal testimony of how God is working in
the lives of even those resisting His drawing by the Holy Spirit. You can read the testimony in full inside

In other congregational news, the new building
for their fellowship was sold to someone else, so they ask for continued
prayers to stand with them for a new property of the Lord's choosing and
blessing. They also ask prayer for Israel:
"Please continue to pray for the nation of Israel, as the waves of
hatred against Israel in the world are rising higher and higher. The bad deal with Iran is on its way and flames
of hatred and violence are rising also from within. There is no true hope
without Yeshua, the Prince of Peace. May many more of our people come to
recognize our savior, Yeshua, who is no other than our brother, whom we still
do not recognize but mistakenly think to be the god of the gentiles. And may
God give wisdom and courage to our leaders to make wise and godly decisions." You can find the other prayer requests from

Personal testimonies is also on the mind of
the Hasdey Yeshua congregation in Arad this month as they share the testimony
of "Esther". They introduce
her by writing, "One of our teachers recently remarked at a service that in
many other places in the world people come to salvation quickly. Not so here in
Israel and not so among Jewish people in general. It can be a process lasting
years and requiring patient watering with prayer by God’s people before the
seed sprouts. As an encouragement to continue with your intercession, here is
the story of how one couple in our congregation came to faith, as told by
Esther, the wife (the people are real, but names have been changed)." You can read this, as well as updates on others

We have heard stories of Christian
missionaries who find Israel to be hard to plow in order to plant the seed of
the gospel. They go expecting Israel to
be like other nations they've evangelized, but it isn't and it is good to
realize this so you don't get a grumpy attitude toward the Jews. In fact, in the New Testament, the apostle
Peter acknowledges that there is an anointing to go to the Jews and another
anointing to go to non-Jews (Galatians 2:8).
Some believers do not want to recognize any difference in Jews and Gentiles but this is a big one and God obviously orchestrated it, as He has also given the lion's share mandate for reaching Israelis to the Messianic Jews who live there - not outsiders coming in to evangelize as they do in other nations. This is not a matter of fair (as in, That's not fair!) but this is a matter of anointing to reach a people that have been cut off from the Spirit of the Lord for 2 millennia. When we in the nations respect that difference, then God is able to use us to come alongside those He has appointed to share the good news with their countrymen in all Israel.

Northern Army

The geography of the nation of Israel is such that a major land invasion
can only come from the north. On the east and south are mountains and deserts.
On the west is the sea. Coming down from
the north, before hitting the central mountain range in Judea and Samaria, one
arrives at a wide open plain in the Jezreel valley around Megiddo. This is the natural place for a large land
battle. From Har Megiddo is derived the
name Armageddon.
The Bible speaks of the entrance of foreign armies from the north:
Jeremiah 1:14 – Evil will open
up from the north
Joel 2:20 – I will remove the
northern army far from you
Ezekiel 38:15 – You will come
from your place on the sides of the north (Gog and Magog)
In the 1990's American military forces in Iraq formed a certain barrier
against the movement of terrorist groups in the area. When they were removed,
there was a regrouping of Islamic extremists in the area. Eventually ISIS was formed, and consolidated
forces in a large area of Iraq and Syria.
They began to attack the Assad regime in Syria that had been supported
by Iran. Therefore Iran and its daughter
terrorist group in Lebanon, Hezbollah, began to fight back. This week Russia landed forces in Syria,
seeing to reestablish their influence in the region.
In short, as of this week, in the area of Syria, immediately to the
north of the Israeli border, have been gathered military and terrorist troops
connected to: Al Qaida, ISIS, Assad, Russia, Hezbollah, and Iran. They are all there fighting against one
another, adjacent to Israel's northern border.
Let us keep praying that they will stay divided (Luke 11:17). The one
potential issue that could unite them is their common desire to wipe Israel off
the map.
Last week
Khamenei, the spiritual leader of Iran, proclaimed that within 25 years Israel
would cease to exist. I feel a certain
"demonic inspiration" on his "25 prophecy." It
may come to pass-- but with just the opposite result: that within 25 years the
northern, evil coalition will unite to attack Israel, which will lead to the
events of the end times tribulation and eventually to the coming of Messiah
Yeshua in victory and power to restore the kingdom to Israel and rule the earth
in the Millennium from Jerusalem.
