We begin this week with wonderful news from Karen Davis of the HaCarmel congregation regarding surgery performed this past Monday on the tumor on his neck. They are rejoicing that the surgery was a great success and the tumor had, in fact, shrunk by 50% after 2-3 weeks of treatment at the Christian Oasis of Hope Hospital in Mexico.  Karen reports that as David woke from the surgery in his room, "he began to praise the Lord in Hebrew, singing, "Kama tov Ata! Kama tov Ata!" -- "How good You are! How good You are!"

Karen writes: "Please do continue to pray for a speedy and painless recovery from the surgery. Another benefit of having the tumor removed is that now a new, even more powerful vaccine can  be produced from the cancer cells found in the tumor. This will be administered to David on Friday. If all goes well, we should be heading home to Israel on Tuesday, Feb. 2 (arriving Feb. 3), when we will begin the next stage of treatment which is a 3-month home care program. We cannot find words to express how deeply we appreciate your prayers which we know have been highly effective in helping us to win the victory in this battle."

As we reported earlier this month, David Davis' need for cancer treatment sped up the transition of the senior pastorate of HaCarmel being transferred to Daniel Sayag, an Israeli born pastor who has served in the leadership for many years. Previously Sayag and his wife, LuAnn served as pastors over the daughter congregation, Kerem-El, or God's Vineyard.  Now the Kerem-El congregation will be led Stefan Silver and Jonathan (don't know his last name).

I mention this because we have a request for help from one of the Kerem El families that is sanctioned by their pastor, Dani Sayag, to solicit aid for.  The father of this family has been stricken with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a devastating muscle weakness can evolve into paralysis. His neurologist wants him in a special leg brace which would allow him to walk unaided. The cost is 10,000 Euro (almost $11,000 USD).  They do not have that kind of money. If you would like to know more, I have details on how to contact them and have already verified that Pastor Sayag has given approval for this appeal to be made.
Pray about it.

From the Revive Israel ministry of Asher Intraer: Establishing His Kingdom on the Earth | VIDEO | In this message from the Aglow 2015 Global conference, Asher shares on the coming kingdom of Yeshua and our role as believers in partnering with Him now in advancing is Kingdom across the earth.  [Donna: There is also a superb word at around the 47:00 mark about how we prepared ourselves to be a governing coalition. Highlighting for those who are also considering who qualifies for their vote in the US elections.]

Also in this issue from Revive Israel, a report from Ari Blumenthal from China and the "Gathering" Conference in Korea.

Polly Sigulim of the Ark in the Negev ministry in Arad - a refuge and discipleship program for women - was in the US speaking when she had to be hospitalized for double pneumonia just as she was due to return to Israel. This has ripple effects for those watching her house and her foster children. Please pray for Polly and for the many details surrounding this.

Hasdey Yeshua, the Hebrew congregation in Arad are also featuring Polly's ministry in their prayer letter this month describing how Polly ministers to women in distress and their children.  She not only provides them a safe place, but also training in new life skills - including Bible-based discipleship.  Life skills are in jewelry making (see the website to purchase) also certified hairdressing. There is a need to relocate the ministry since their rental has been sold. Please pray for God to make a way for new facilities.

The Arad congregation also shares the story of a Bedouin believer who was forced out of his tribe after coming to faith.  His mother loves him still... and it may be the LORD is beckoning his family to faith through these developments. Learn more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Ron Cantor's new book is coming out soon and if you pre-order now, not only will you get the book a month before everyone else, but also a 25% discount. Just click here to order your copy.

SPECIAL NOTE TO USA READERS: Ron Cantor also has a new blog post out called Trump Backs out of Debate. Good. I hope you will take the time to read the excellent case he makes. This is a critical election. Christians need to cast a worthy vote.

Ben Juster, who is the Operations Director for Tikkun International, is down with a bad flu - which is delaying their Tikkun prayer requests for this month. Watch here and pray for Ben.

Israel Pochtar, the pastor of the Ashdod Beit Hallel congregation, sends a report of their ministry work in Ashdod, as well as two testimonies from two men who have come to the Lord. As Israel writes, "We have one purpose always before us: to win as many Israelis as possible to the Lord. Please continue praying for our ongoing projects and work as we reach out to the poor and needy, raising leaders and planting new congregations."

We have reported it earlier in the month, but here the Caspari Media Review notes what the local Ashdod newspaper is reporting on the new facilities that Israel Pochtar has obtained for expanding their facilities:  "Some residents in Ashdod have issued protests through their public representatives against a planned missionary center, saying that its purpose is to covert Jews to Christianity. The fact that the group in question has moved from a relatively “modest” building to a large facility of hundreds of square meters “shows their intention of holding mass prayer services,” states journalist Israel Ohayon. Ohayon penetrated the facility and was told that its purpose was “helping those in need.” Yogev Cohen, “a religious expert who has worked opposite societies of those preaching Christianity,” added that that is true, but that “after the hearts of the needy have been won, the visits become a time for New Testament study with a view to conversion.”

The Ashdod congregation has been the target of pretty intense protest mobs in past. Please continue to pray for this congregation - for God's favor and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

For other "anti-missionary" activism currently going on in Israel, and the response of the Israeli government, see inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Tal Bass.

Praying the Headlines

Martin Sarvis writing from Jerusalem on the ongoing murders by stabbing of Israelis by young Palestinian attackers.  This is a horrific development in the terror attacks by "young Palestinians yielding to this unpredictable 'death wish”.  The loss of Israeli lives has been especially heartbreaking over the past week as young mothers or pregnant women have been murdered in these terroristic attacks. Sarvis gives prayer points for those who will lift up this horrible situation before God's throne.

Teaching Articles

Exodus and the Revelation By Daniel Juster

I believe that the Book of Revelation provides a picture of judgments in the last days just before the return of Yeshua.  Yes, the book gives aid and comfort to believers who are under persecution and assures them of God’s righteous judgments—in every age; also the seals can be applied to many periods of history.  However, as we move into the Trumpets and the Bowls of God’s wrath, levels of judgment are portrayed that go beyond anything yet seen in history.

Arrows from Zion
Serving the Body of Messiah in Israel since August 2001

& Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Arrows from Zion May be copied for use in Prayer Gatherings

Priority Prayer Focus Jan 20, 2016

The top two prayer items that emerged as a thread in the prayer requests this week:

1. Dealing with the murderous individual knife attacks being made on Israelis. A new insight has emerged this week in the media ignoring those attacks taking place in what they refer to as "the settlements." This is the same hypocritical judgment that has Western nations reaping the very thing they have turned a blind eye and callous heart to when Israel has suffered from brutal manifestations of Islamic terrorist. Pray for Israel to overcome this "Knife Terrorism". Pray for Western nations to DEAL WITH their hypocrisy in judgment of Israel.

2. Dealing with the great influx of immigration from Europe as antisemitism continues to rise in those countries.  Pray also for the coming North American immigration...yes, America. You are heading down the same hypcritical paths as Europe.

We open this week with a great praise report from Eddie Santoro of the Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem regarding his recovery from brain surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. It has been six months and his latest MRI show no signs of cancer! This has been a rough season for the ministry leaders of Israel, as many have suffered life threatening medical diagnosis, but as in Eddie's case, the LORD has been faithful to His faithful servants. Praise God.

Eddie reports that they are "praying for the sick in a new way as we grow in our understanding of God's desire to heal. We have committed ourselves to praying whenever we see someone in need and this has happened every time we have gone to the hospital for an appointment." Pray for an increase in healing miracles among the ministries of Israel - this is a sign that speaks God's love to many who receive it.

As Eddie writes, "We believe so strongly that God is on the move here in Jerusalem and that it is time to see the supernatural manifest in a greater way. Please join us in praying for an end time healing revival in this city of the great King. Pray that our congregation would hunger to see an explosion of Holy Spirit power during our weekly meetings. Pray that the unsaved would be drawn to the congregation and to Yeshua as His power is demonstrated in healing and deliverance in their lives."

In their congregation, Eddie says they are shifting their Hebrew-only congregation to accommodate the growing needs of immigrants from the nations who have recently made aliyah.  "This is a far more complex issue than appears on the surface so please pray for the leadership team to have great wisdom as we endeavor to find the best solution for everyone.... As the anti-Semitism grows in Europe, there are nearly 10,000 European Jews (8,000 from France) that moved to Israel over the past year. Please pray that more would come as we know that God is calling all the Jews to come home to their Land. Pray that we would see an increase in North American Jews making aliyah to Israel. The time is now!"

They are also starting two new home meetings for the development of personal relationships between the congregants and ask prayers for the young leaders of these groups.

From Asher Intrater, I hope you will not miss the video of Asher's message from the Aglow 2015 conference which has been appearing on the Revive Israel Facebook page. It is exciting, inspiring, anointed and full of vision: Blessing the Ekklesia.  There is also a short video by Asher on An opportunity for Arab Revival.  And a writing about the two primary conditions that must be met before the Lord's Return: Prioritizing the Conditions of Jesus' Return

Starting tomorrow Asher, Betty, and Youval, together with a worship team from Gateways Geneva will minister in Rome, Italy in the All European Leadership conference hosted by Aglow International. Please pray for this event.  Also, if you are interested in volunteer opportunities with this ministry, see inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Israel Pochtar of Beit Hallel in Ashdod writes, " Our move to purchase a new building has caused quite a stir in the city and brought once again a wave of opposition against us.  Recently very negative and inciting articles were published in a local newspaper about us, our work, our growing influence in the city, as well as our move to purchase a building for our congregation. The articles was written with the purpose to hinder our work once again, to incite people against us, calling us a dangerous cult that must be stopped especially now in light of our recent purchase of a new building, of which we're in the final steps."  Pray that no weapon formed against this ministry shall prosper!

Pochtar also gives an uplifting report on their Christmas and Hanukkah humanitarian projects. Please read more about the exciting work this ministry is doing, especially for needy immigrants arriving in Israel with almost nothing to start their new lives in the Jewish homeland with. Inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem writes about the tragic death of a mother of 4 who was killed in her own home this week by a teenaged Palestinian terrorist. Shortly afterwards another Israeli woman - pregnant - was attack in a clothing warehouse. Her attacker was shot and killed. Martin notes that these terror attacks that take place in the "territories" receive little coverage abroad because of the media sentiment that Israel has no right to be there in the first place.  I have seen the statement made repeatedly by the Israeli ministries over the past few months that most of the knifing attacks were not being reported in the press but this is the first time anyone has ever voiced why. Following this logic, the international media must condone knife-murders of Israelis who live in the disputed territories. (Only disputed by people who don't believe the Bible!)  Read Martin's report inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary.

Martin also gives a report and prayer requests about the increasing immigration to Israel of Jews from Western Europe.  There are issues for these new immigrants to grapple with, as well as the effort on the part of religious forces in Israel to refuse any Jews of faith in Yeshua.  This is an especially important prayer point: "The Ministry of Interior and Absorption be prepared to welcome all Jews God is returning to His Land—including Messianic Jews.  Pray that any officials who would attempt to thwart God’s purposes here will be swept aside and replaced."

From the Maoz Ministry of Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram, Katy fills us in on the news of the week as she notes her 10-year milestone of service at Maoz.  (Mazal tov to Katy).  She notes that the Maoz Media department producing content in both English and Hebrew are working on several exciting projects, but also that they have a search on for a new videographer and editor. Find out more about that need inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary.

Also, the Maoz blog has been under attack - likely hacker sabotage issues from the sound of it. Regardless, they need prayers that all will be resolved quickly. Pray in agreement with the word of the LORD that says: "Behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it."

Dov Bikas of the Aviv Ministry (Evangelism and outreach among drug addicts and victims of sexual abuse in south Tel Aviv) is now on Facebook sharing the great testimonies of lives changed by Yeshua through the ministry.  Please "Like" FACEBOOK page for the Aviv Ministry and be blessed by this good work in the Land.

Ron Cantor of the Tiferet Yeshua congregaion in Tel Aviv shares great pictures and even videos of the renovation and updating for their new coffee house outreach in Tel Aviv.  Soon they will host their first concert with Shai Sol, the young Messianic believer who declared her faith publicly on the Israeli version of American Idol.  Read all about what is going on with this new outreach facility in the greater Tel Aviv area.

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please see inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary to keep in prayer the Israeli ministry leaders and believers with urgent health needs including the fight for their very lives:

Praying the Headlines

The Iranian Sanctions are Lifted | Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem |  This past weekend the “deal” reached by six world powers with Iran to curtail its efforts towards development of a nuclear arsenal went into effect.  This was two months after Iranian testing of an Emad ballistic missile, banned under international law, “capable of delivering a nuclear payload and uniquely designed for that task.”

Plans by the U.S. Treasury Dept. to roll out new missile-related sanctions were reportedly scrapped at the last minute by the Obama administration so as to not endanger the nuclear deal.  (1)

Shortly after the Deal went into effect, token sanctions were indeed levelled against “Iranian companies and individuals” in relation to the test, but these pale in relation to the green light granted to the Islamic Republic as a whole.  On Saturday night, the office of Israel’s prime minister warned that “Iran has not abandoned its aspirations to acquire nuclear weapons and continues to destabilize the Middle East and spread terrorism throughout the world.” It emphasized that it is now crucial that the powers responsible for the deal insure that there is an appropriate response to each Iranian violation.  Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan pointed out how, along with its billions of restored revenue, Iran “continues supplying arms to Hezbollah, Hamas and other terrorist groups, intervening in Gulf States’ internal affairs and violating UN Security Council decisions about developing ballistic missiles.” (2)

Nor was it reassuring for Israel when it was announced this week that two weeks before International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Teheran has announced a cartoon contest for creation of caricatures denying the Holocaust, with the winner’s prize this year upped from $12,000 to $50,000.  (3)

PLEASE PRAY  |  We are not cursing the implementation of this week’s plan.  For whatever good may come from it for pushing back the Iranian program, we are thankful.  We thank the Lord for the release of the prisoners; and we are grateful for any easing of the hardships on the vast civilian populace of that nation.  But of course we must remain alert and aware that there is a spiritual battle of much more portent involved here.

Under the influence of that battle, nations are aligning, juxta positioning themselves.  For our part, we pray God grant us His “bigger picture”—so that our prayers (which play a crucial part in the heavenly battle ahead) will be effective in releasing His will on earth.  In protecting, strengthening and mobilizing His Body.  In protecting the harvest in all nations.  In seeing Israel come into her essential end-time calling as a burning torch shining truth and hope into all the earth.

Teaching Articles

A short (and necessary!) teaching for the nations from the Jerusalem Institute of Justice on the Middle Eastern Refugee Crisis:

"Because of the inaction of Western nations, their gates are currently being flooded with hundreds of thousands of Middle Eastern refugees. Over the course of 2016, these hundreds of thousands will become millions. It would behoove our leaders to take note of the fact that when evil is not dealt with, it becomes everyone's problem. "

I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep

Although I was unable to get a 'catch up' edition of Israelprayer out by last weekend, this does put us very close to caught up, and we will be entirely on track with the prayer summary by next week.

We begin with this just in from Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem as Martin writes about how God has been watching over Israel:  "In the last 2 1/2 weeks the Israel security agency Shin Bet has broken open three Hamas cells preparing major attacks within Israel.  In late December a large-scale operation plotting bombings and suicide bombing attacks in Israel was apprehended in the Abu Dis area outside of Jerusalem.  A week ago the agency thwarted a plan to kidnap and murder Israelis in order to trade their bodies for Palestinian prisoners.  This week other plots was uncovered, including one to plant bombs and blow up Prime Minister Netanyahu while he would be speaking in an Arena in southern Jerusalem. Having lived in Israel for many years, the authors can testify that the number of apprehensions such as these are far greater than what makes it into the news media outside the country."

Sarvis asks, Please Pray:  For God’s mercies upon those men and women entrusted with Israel’s internal security. For alertness, integrity and righteous judgment to govern their actions.. . . For the spread of the Gospel amongst those in Israel’s security agencies, in her police force and in her border control.

Martin also writes about a disturbing development - the appointment of Aryeh Deri of the Shas religious party to the head of Israel's Ministry of Interior.  "Deri held the post 22 years ago, but was forced to resign for abusing his position through bribery.  He later was jailed for around two years for corruption."  Not only is Deri corrupt, but he is bad news for the Good News in Israel, and in the head role of the Interior Ministry which has the say of who can be an Israeli citizen and who has to get out of Israel, Deri is well-known for his opposition to Jews who believe in Yeshua.

Sarvis asks, Please Pray: That no weapon formed against the Gates of Israel through the placing of an anti-Messiah leader in oversight of those gates will prosper  (The MOI is literally a “gateway” into the nation).             The [Shas] party ....is known for its practice of the occult. Pray that the ministry offices will not become permeated with emmisaries of an occult, anti-Messiah (anti-Christ) agenda. Pray: That the gates of aliyah (returning of Jews to the Land) will be kept open for all those who hear the sound of the “great shofar” (Isaiah 28:13) to return – including Messianic Jews! That if it be possible, he [Deri] may be turned to the only One in whom righteousness may be received

From the Harvest of Asher congregation in Acco, Guy Cohen reports that they have once again begun to hold weekly home group gatherings, so people are able to meet in smaller group settings. They ask prayer for all these groups.  Other prayer requests include intercession for a new pro life counselor that is now being trained to replace the lady who has been in that position as she turns now to working with the Aliyah from Hungary.  HOA children have participated in a couple of great outreaches, including to the elderly and also in preparing gift baskets for the Center for the Blind children and families.  Your support of Israeli ministries makes all the outreaches like this possible - a blessing to the community and a growth opportunity for the believers.

Joel Jelski sends an update on his young family, wife Teresa and their bouncing baby boy Boaz, now 5 months old and entering the teething stage.  You all know what that means! Pray for them all to get rested sleep and little Boaz relief from teething pain.  Joel is in his final year of college and has lots on his plate - family, school and ministry.  They will be traveling to Texas in late February thru mid-March. If you would like to have them share in small group or church group, you will find his contact information inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Ron Cantor brings an appeal for the #Facelift they want to do on the Tel Aviv congregation, Tiferet Yeshua this year (details inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary).  They will be opening their Coffee House Outreach this month...just waiting on the delivery of the furniture now.  One of the special things they did to liven up the coffee house was to shoot hundreds of photographs around Tel Aviv, then print the 70 they selected on canvases to be displayed as art.  The shop manager that worked with them on the art project was so excited about it he plans to come to the Coffee Shop to see the final display.  Pray for him!

Eric Benson of the House of Victory rehab ministry is really excited about a donation that made it possible for them to purchase a stainless steel pot with a strong seal that they are able to transport from Haifa to Tel Aviv filled with soup for the outreach they do there among the drug addicts and prostitutes. They are also happy to have the volunteer help of a brother from Scotland who has come to serve in the rehab cooking delicious meals for the men.  Benson also gives us the stories of two men they have been ministering to in dire need of the LORD's intervention.  To learn more about this ministry see inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Ruth Nessim in Nahariya - in between her treatments for cancer - is a great friend to the Arab ministries in her town, helping them by writing ministry letters for the works they do.  This week Ruth sends us a ministry letter from Pierre and Maggie Altounian, a Lebanese couple with children who fled Lebanon in 2000.  They now hold services for the many Lebanese in the area in the Hebrew congregation hall that Ruth belongs to.  As Ruth says, "This is a wonderful example of how God is building His Kingdom here in the North with Jews and Arabs praying together, and even one formerly Moslem Lebanese who now proudly wears a cross to show his faith in Jesus. We are a happy family."

Pierre Altounian says through Ruth, " In our City, Nahariya, there are many Lebanese families, and these families desperately need to learn about the way of our Lord Jesus Christ. "The harvest is great but the workers are few". So help us pray that the Lord would send his workers to work in the field of our Lord Jesus Christ. We would love to do much more visiting, but our work week is at least 48 hours, and it does not leave much time for what we would like to do.  I work full time and do not have a lot of free time, so I pray that God would open a way for us for effective service. Today I ask of you that you keep our congregation in your prayers, that God would find ways where there are no ways. We serve a God of miracles, a God that can do the impossible."

David and Karen Davis of the 25 year old Carmel congregation, announce they are now implementing the transition of the Carmel pastorship over to their Israeli-born pastor Dani Sayag and his wife LuAnne. As you may know, David was recently diagnosed with cancer which he is being treated for and it was decided that the transition which they have been planning for now being the time to implement.  You can learn more about the Sayeg's who have served many years at the congregation, also leading a daughter congregation in Beit Yedidia.

As for David Davis, we also received this update this morning as David and Karen are in Tijuana, Mexico at the Oasis of Hope Hospital doing a 3-week alternative cancer treatment run by committed Christian doctors and staff.  You can read about the factors that informed their decision to go the route of alternative treatment instead of massive radiation treatments, and also hear about their delight with the Christian surroundings in the Mexico treatment center where worship is going on in the same room as cancer patients are receiving IV infusion treatments.  Pray for David to be fully recovered from cancer, and also for Karen who is by his side.

From the Morning Star Fellowship in Tiberias, Claude Ezagouri writes, " The new report on poverty was published two weeks ago and the picture is rather grim with 1.7 million Israelis, most of them children, under poverty level, 50,000 more than last year. Please intercede for the government to find out-of-the box solutions to cope with this situation. Pray also for the Messianic believers to be efficient in their humanitarian work to bring some relief to the needy."
"Claude is meeting regularly with other messianic and Arab pastors to strengthen unity between messianic and Arab Christian believers. So far, the meetings have gone well although there were some stumbling blocks on the way. Most of the Arab brothers are from the Galilee but we hope to be able to meet also with others. At a time when terror and hatred are spreading in Israel, the unity of the brothers is essential for us to be able to bring the true message of love and peace and be a living example of brotherhood In Yeshua."  For more about this ministry see inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

In the Kfar Saba congregation of the Wellspring, Tony and Orna Sperandeo give a great look back at their praise reports for 2015 and look forward to all that lies ahead of them in 2016.  They write, "We believe that God has given us the mandate to be the watchmen over our city and area over looking Samaria. The dream He gave us is to establish a Ministry Center here, where the needs of the people can be met according to Isaiah 61 (our mandate/mission). Having the bomb shelter/youth center is just part of this vision.  This year, He has put on our hearts to purchase the entire building, thus being free from outside influences of other tenants. And it will enable us to meet in a safer place.  Imagine with us:  A building that could be renovated in excellence that will draw the people.  A bomb shelter than can protect not only us but also those around us in times of crises.  A healing center that is based on creativity that would heal hearts and change lives.  A prayer area that overlooks the entire Samarian countryside.  A guesthouse that could accommodate visitors, volunteers, and new immigrants as they learn about Israel and our ministry.  This is our hope and dream for 2016.  We believe with God's help and provision, we can see this as a reality by December."  To see more highlights and prayer requests, see inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

From Revive Israel in Jerusalem, Asher Intrater writes about Apostolic Alignment and gives a video teaching on The Greatest Jewish Holiday - the birth of the Messiah.  There is a short piece by Betty Intrater on the most popular male baby name in Israel and a report from Revive Team Cody Archer on Bringing the Kingdom in Switzerland.

Also from Revive this Prayer request | From January 21-24, Asher, Betty, and Youval, together with a worship team from Gateways Geneva will minister in Rome, Italy in the All European Leadership conference hosted by Aglow International. Please pray for the success of these gatherings, anointing on Asher as he speaks and for a fresh empowerment and sending upon the leaders who attend to see revival in their nations.

Ruth Nessim has also sent her January prayer letter writing that she has been able to send off her life story book, "The Roofed Gate" for editing and printing. She also writes, " The Esther and Ruth children’s book has been well received and we have received some very positive acknowledgements. It may be obtained from: CJF Publications, 611 Broadway, San Antonio, Tx78215, USA, Tel:210.226.1075,Fax 210.226.2140, or from me at POB 269, 22102 Nahariya, Israel.  The price is $10 plus postage.

Ruth is being treated for Lymphoma and is at the half-way mark of treatment (three weekly treatment with two days at the hospital and four days’ treatment at home).  She says her hair is thinning but still on her head, and apart from a cold has been feeling fine... except not being able to sleep after the chemo and "wanting to work non-stop". (To tell you the truth, we think this is Ruth's natural state & don't know how she does it all!).  You can read more about Ruth's wonderful spirit of devotion to those the Lord puts in her path inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary.  Please pray for this wonderful woman of God who is always pouring herself out to help others.

Howard Bass in the Yeshua's Inheritance congregation in Beer Sheva writes, "We had a very interesting mix of believers and unbelievers join us yesterday: an Israeli Jewish family who found us through the internet: the wife and her mother are believers, but the husband is not, yet they all came out with two babies in strollers; a former Muslim Bedouin woman with her daughter, whom we had not seen for a while because of her husband's disapproval; an inquiring Holocaust survivor who has been part of the bus tours that one of our members conducts; a couple of 'street people' from the neighborhood; visitors from different parts of the world, some on their way to other parts."  Pray for the Bass family as they minister to whosoever comes across the years in Beer Sheva.

Howard will be heading for "southern England from Feb 1-8, speaking at the Prayer For Israel (PFI) Brunel Conference. The focus for me is the challenge of proclaiming Jesus in a world -- and a lukewarm Church -- that is unwilling or uninterested in speaking out the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, but seem to give more honor to false gods so as not to offend their believers. What about offending our God and Father who has given equal honor to His Son, and the name above every name?!"

He also reports that son, Tal, has returned to his unit - eye pressure is good, but the iris is still not narrowing to light. Interestingly, his vision in his good eye is normal, but in his damaged eye his vision is better!  About the pupil's recovery - it may recover soon, it may recover in a while, or it may not fully recover at all, but again this is already much better than how this all started. We all thank you for your prayers for his healing and recovery.

Bass gives one correction to the interview last week about the 10-year anniversary of the religious attack on the congregation:  " The correction is: we did NOT have the financial resources for such a lawsuit, but went in faith that we were in obedience to the leading of the Lord. And He did help us with all the expenses, as the article indicates."

Dov Bikas, who has a Russian-speaking congregation in Beer Sheva, as well as Tel Aviv outreach to drug addicts and sexual abuse victims, writes with the story of a young Muslim woman who was a former victim of human sex trafficking.  Responding to an ad in Uzbekistan while in her late teens for "job opportunities" in Israel, she ended up trapped by sex traffickers.  You can read her story inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary but after attending the Bible studies offered by Bikas' ministry team, this young woman became a believer and was baptized.  Now she is trying to be re-united with her daughter in Uzbekistan, and caring for her young children her. Dov has several prayer requests for this woman's situation - who has come so far, God's mercy is clearly towards her.  Find out how you can pray and also help/

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 1/6/2016

Arrows from Zion
Serving the Body of Messiah in Israel since August 2001

& Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel
Arrows from Zion May be copied for use in Prayer Gatherings

As you might imagine, taking off the week between Christmas and New Years I have twice as many prayer letters to deal with this week - more than I can squeeze into the 15 page limit I keep on the Weekly Summary. So I have decided to attempt two separate prayer summaries this week. The second one should hopefully arrive before or during the weekend. Then we will be back on schedule with everyone properly covered in the prayer summary.  Shalom & God bless all!

Priority Prayer Focus Jan 6, 2016

There is no shortage of vision for outreach to the Jewish people among the ministries of the Body of Messiah in Israel. As we then have opportunity to bless, let us bless those in Israel who are advancing the kingdom of the King of kings, Messiah Yeshua - Israel's Hope, now and until He comes to be enthroned on God's Holy Mountain.

A heartening report for the year's end from Rachel and Gilad Netanel in Ein Karim. This is how sharing the good news in Israel works best Israeli Jew to Israeli Jew, and Rachel is sharing everywhere she goes while the Netanel's home is continually receiving people who want to know more about their faith.  Some of the most astounding reports in this ministry letter are best not publicly shared, besides, to really get the impact of how this type of ministry is reaching Israelis, it is best to read it for yourself. You won't be sorry you took the time to open the attached DOCX Weekly Summary Many blessings await for you to read.

I will share this one excerpt from many stories in the Netanel ministry letter:  "As you are aware, we are all suffering here from so much terrorism.  But it is not only the Jews who are suffering but also the Arabs whose economy has been affected and they also suffer from fear.  One Arab has been working for me doing maintenance jobs on and off for about ten years now.   Because of the violence, he is afraid to come so I had to go and pick him up outside of Bethlehem (where it is forbidden for Jews to enter.)   He worked at the house for three days and stayed here.   I told him that if he comes, it is on one condition and that is that he must study the Bible with us.   So we studied a lot especially from the Book of Matthew and then we saw a film about Jesus in Arabic.

"One day, he looked at me with surprise and said, 'I don’t want to be a Muslim!  I was born a Muslim but why do I need to stay one!'  I saw that something was really touching his heart.  I know how afraid he must be because if a Muslim believes in another religion, his life could be in danger and so this is such a difficult decision to make.  I asked him if he believed that Jesus is the Son of God.  One of the most important decrees in Islam is that God has no sons and it is forbidden to even say this.   He told me that if Jesus was not born of man then He must be the Son of God.  No man fathered him.  It was God and if God can do this then it would be easy to raise Him from the dead.   I looked at his eyes and saw that light was beginning to shine there, so I told him about an excellent Arab church in close to Bethlehem and told him that I would go there with him and he agreed." To the Jew first, but also to the Gentiles.

Eitan Shishkoff writes about the 20th anniversary of the Tents of Mercy. "What began in one immigrant home with a tiny handful of new Israelis, mainly from the former Soviet Union, has become five congregations with numerous humanitarian and educational initiatives, stretching from the Mediterranean to the Sea of Galilee."  This is a ministry that is heavily invested in the believing youth and in mentoring the next generation of Israeli Messianic ministry leadership.

In fact, as Eitan shares, "We are on the last lap of a generational leadership transition. Thanks for interceding, as some time in the coming year the helm will be turned over to a remarkable, sold-out-to-God couple: Avi and Hannah Tekle. I'll still be around, for sure - encouraging, coaching, overseeing. But they are already doing a magnificent job of raising up teams to take on a variety of congregational ministries, and are creatively carrying forward the legacy of these foundational decades."  Eitan also shares about the Fields of Wheat vision, a hospitality village in the Galilee-to serve all Israeli congregations as well as friends from the nations. You can read about that and all doings of this great Israeli ministry network.

From Eitan's fellow Tikkun network ministry partner, Asher Intrater of Revive Israel, Asher takes the opportunity to emphasize the 1/3 of all undesignated donations they receive being given out strategically to bless local congregations, messianic residential communities, believers in financial distress, support evangelism, and other worthy causes. Watch the short video

Revive Israel also shares this short video with Asher Intrater giving a spiritual perspective: A Turbulent Week in Israel Reveal Clash in Values .  Two short Hebrew Bride parables by Asher (Ezer K'negdo) and Revive team member, Shani Beni-Ari (Kalah).  Last, but not least is the VIDEO message Dan Juster delivered recently at Wheaton College, concerning the connection between the Jewish people and the coming kingdom of God.

Rachel & Avner Boskey have recently returned to Israel from a speaking trip in the USA and say they have ‘hit the ground running’ as they returned to the land in early December.   One of the new things they are working on is a new and separate newsletter (in addition to their regular newsletter with Avner's prophetic word) which will bring timely ministry reports and prayer requests regarding the training and equipping center they are embarking on.  Read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary where you can also get information on how to sign up directly for their new Dry Bones Newsletter.

Tony and Orna Sperandeo of the Kehilat Hamaayan (Congregation of the Wellspring) in Kfar Saba sent a brief greeting to note the end of 2015, writing, ".  We need to say that it has not been an easy year for us. It has been more like a year of transition and changes. But  through it all, we remain confident that:  'that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Messiah Yeshua 's return.'  We want to thank you all dear friends for your prayers, practical support and service to us. You have truly been a great source of encouragement at this time in our lives. We are looking to the year  2016 with expectancy and faith, asking our God for renewed strength and pleading for His grace and Mercy for our people and our Land and for the whole of the Middle East."

Orna Greenman of A Sign & A Wonder (Ot Oo’Mofet) writes about her ministry which is dedicated to the orphans, widows and single parents of the Israeli body of Messiah.  She notes, " In all we do, our vision is to contribute towards the restoration of the widowhood of Israel; to see the name of the God of Israel lifted up. A widow, by Biblical definition, is not only a woman whose husband had died. The Old Testament does not focus solely on the familial status of the widow, but uses this word to define her condition, her situation. A widow is a woman, but also a land or a city, who has no one to lean on, no one to manage and provide for her.  That is why God calls Israel a widow. Not because she has no husband, but because she does not lean on Him to provide for her various needs. He promises that a day will come and she will remember the reproach of her widowhood no more (Is. 54:4).  Until then - our people are acting as a widow, especially in the spiritual realm. Most of the Jews in Israel are secular atheists. They do not acknowledge the existence of God, and a relationship with Him is completely out of the question." You can read about the many ways this ministry focus expresses itself inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary and learn more about this ministry with great insight and integrity.

Avi and Chaya Mizrachi of Adonai Roi Congregation and Dugit Coffeehouse ministry also write about how the help and prayers from the nations have enabled them to reach out into their Tel Aviv community throughout 2015:  1,000's of Israeli's received a Gospel presentation; 150 Hours of Biblical Teaching and Discipleship;     1,500 Hours of Prayer in the VIP Prayer Tower; 400 bags of food; 200 winter blankets, socks, gloves, and hats given to the needy through Dugit Distribution; $65,000 given to various ministries in Israel;    $700,000 raised towards the purchase of the DUGIT OUTREACH CENTER.

They also write, "Our outreach center/coffee shop plays a critical role in this mission that the Lord has given us.  And, as many of you know, we were forced out of our old facility because of our "practices" (preaching the Gospel).  We are amazed that at this point we are only $300,000 shy of the needed $1.2 million to purchase our very own facility! Contribute to that 2016 vision here.

From Beer Sheva, the Yeshua's Inheritance Congregation (Nachalat Yeshua). Howard Bass writes about their trip to the Bethlehem area to share in Christmas fellowship with an Arab ministry. Howard writes, " We praise God for freeing us in the Spirit to celebrate His great and awesome acts on behalf of His people! The birth of Yeshua probably ranks near the very top, if not there! Who would believe such a thing if it were not for God Himself telling us, and giving us the Holy Spirit to know it is no myth or fairy tale, but far better! There is no one like YEHOVAH!"

You can read more about the Beer Sheva congregation inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary but we will share this from Howard: "Randi and I want to again thank all of you for being supportive of us, and what the Lord has entrusted into our hands, and for Yeshua's Inheritance Congregation, which continues to mature as we depend upon the Lord. Thank-you also for remembering the whole Body of Messiah in Israel, including all from among Jewish, Arab, and others whom the Lord has in His field here. Your prayers are of great value and encouragement to what God wants to accomplish."

Also in the Praying the Headlines section, don't miss the KehilaNews.com interview with Howard Bass as he looks back at the 10-year anniversary of the religious attack that was made on the congregation, Dec 24, 2006.  A Decade Since the Haredi Attack on the Beersheva Messianic Congregation

Ronit Bender writes from Carmel about her ministry to her community and also in Tel Aviv where she joins the House of Victory outreach there to drug addicts and prostitutes where, she writes, "reaching out to the very needy, hurting people brings challenges, but the rewards are greater, as hope and love can be ignited in the many hearts we meet. Two we meet weekly: one is a transgender, the other a lovely girl from France. They are so touched by the love shown. We make it a point to visit weekly, and trust that the love of the Lord and the Holy Spirit will bring them with us to rehab. Please pray for them."

Ronit shares about a coffeehouse near her home which the staff have welcomed her like family (read details inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary). She notes that a political figure from the current administration often has his coffee there when he is home from Jerusalem. Ronit believes he may become Israel's next Prime Minister and asks prayer for him.  You can get the details in the Weekly Summary, but suffice to say that God aligns our paths - so this is no coincidence that He has placed one of His choice servants in the path of this man who would ask for prayer for him in advance of his possible future as head of Israel.

Ron Cantor shares a good report that "Last week in our congregation we had to bring out extra chairs to accommodate those attending. It has been like that for several weeks. One fellow who has been coming for weeks is wrestling with the idea of Yeshua—he wrongly thinks he has to get better before he can receive Yeshua. Yeshua will make him better. His former girlfriend embraced the Lord a month ago and has been bringing him. PRAY FOR HIM!"  This Tel Aviv congregation, Tiferet Yeshua, is pressing in to reach the people of Tel Aviv that God puts into their paths.

Ron's Identity Theft book in Hebrew will be released in February and they are going to be giving it away FREE all over Israel.  That is exciting, and no doubt you can help with funding that, or the many outreach platforms they are engaged in.  Read about some of those inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary. If Israel has a Sin City (and it does!), then Tel Aviv is it.  Not only is there the sins of secular Israelis, but also the congregation is targeted pretty intensely by religious opposition too.  Please pray for this congregation and for all the congregations of Israel.  (Especially now that a major religious opposer looks to be reinstated to the Interior Ministry).

Rick Ridings leads the 24/7 prayer and worship house Succat Hallel which in recent years has taken on local Israeli staff. In the early days of establishing the work, interns from the nations came to serve and minister, but it is very important for ministries operating in Israel to be tied to the local body of believers in every way possible. Ridings has certainly done that and is blessed with many spiritual visions and words that the nations can take up on Israel's behalf.

One of those is a vision Ridings shares in this ministry letter, Vision of a Wave Across Africa Shaking Witchcraft and Idolatry and Bringing Increased Harvest. Because of the great upheaval of radical Islam in Africa and the Middle East, we believe this is an important word even though it specifically speaks to witchcraft and idolatry that stretches all the way down to Cape Town.  You can read it inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

We finish in the first of our holiday catch-up prayer summaries with an outstandingly good report from Eddie Santoro who pastors the Jerusalem Ahavat Yeshua congregation:  Eddie writes, " I underwent an MRI on 12/14 and the results were good. The details of the report were that there was no cancer in my brain! The doctor told us that the same white hazy area around the site of the original tumor is still there and that it has the potential to become the source of new cancer cells. It's been there since the first MRI after the surgery without any change and we believe that the resurrection power of Yeshua has already bound it and that this too will be removed from my body. Please join us in praying that the next MRI that I will undergo in two months will show this area changed into healthy new tissue.

"For the next phase of my maintenance treatment, starting the beginning of January, I will be resuming the chemotherapy pills but just for the first five days of every month. Please join us in praying against any side effects.  I am also a candidate to receive a monthly vaccination which has been developed recently in the United States. This brand new treatment, which is still in the research stage, causes the body's white blood cells to perceive the cancer cells as an enemy and attack them in a natural way. This will probably begin in the last week of January. Again, we thank you for the wonderful encouragement you have been through your prayers, your expressions of love and your ongoing support. It is a long and ongoing battle and we ask that you please keep praying for us."

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs.  Pray also for the release of a greater healing anointing among the Israeli ministries to touch the people of Israel with a sign of the goodness of Yeshua.

Tal Bass, the son of the leaders of the Beer Sheva congregation has suffered an eye injury a month ago called "traumatic mydriasis"- a dilated pupil that is also not reacting to light. Healing of the condition is mostly possible in the first 3 months. Please pray that Tal's eye be healed and no further developments threaten him.

An update for David Davis:  Karen and I will be flying next week to spend several weeks at a well-respected alternative cancer treatment hospital which offers combined conventional and alternative treatments suitable for my situation. We feel a great sense of peace that He is totally in control and “will perfect that which concerns us” (Ps. 138:8). I look forward to returning to Israel in greater health to continue to be available as a mentor to our spiritual sons and daughters as Founder of Kehilat HaCarmel, and to a deepening of my call to prophetic intercession in the tumultuous times ahead in Israel and the Middle East (Jer. 23:18).

Please continue to pray for David Davis; an unnamed forefather of Messianic Judaism; Dr Jurgen Buhler; Ruth Nessim; Eddie Santoro;  Evan Levine; Rachel Slater; Judy, wife of pastor Yaakov K; Moshe Morrison;  Shelly wife of pastor Eitan; Claude Ezagouri; Patti, wife of Dan Juster; Baruch and Karen Maayan; Michael E and unnamed Israel-related ministers; Jacob Damkani.  Pray also for Ghazi, the son of an Arab pastor, who is suffering from Leukemia. Tal Bass.

Praying the Headlines

IT’S NOT ISIS, IT’S ISLAM  By Shira Sorko-Ram  Maoz Ministries  www.MAOZisrael.org

In theory, a Muslim is a believer in the fundamental Islamic precepts brought to the world in the seventh century by Allah.  So what produces a peace-loving Muslim, versus a violent one?
True Christians understand the description of a devout follower of Yeshua - a person who loves and studies the word of God, and endeavors to live each day of his life as a disciple of the one and only True God.
On the other hand, a nominal Christian who may call himself a Christian, but knows little of the word of God and does not follow the commandments of Yeshua is the norm today in western civilization. At funerals, nominal Christians speak of their loved ones who are now in heaven, but on earth these people live as any other non-believer. The center of their universe is not God.
So it is with Islam. Many Muslims are not really interested in being “religious.” They know they were born a Muslim, and revere Islam, but know little of the precepts of their faith, don’t go to the mosque, don’t pray five times a day, don’t look forward to a “haj” - a once-in-a-lifetime religious sojourn to Mecca.  Read the article
