If you are like me, you are watching a multitude of events in the world changing in a blink of an eye, not minor changes but mighty, drastic changes. All the while it is not quiet on the homefront either! There is sooo much going on that it is a little overwhelming to take it all in.
For this reason the priority prayer focus this week is for us all to have a quiet spirit before God, so His Holy Spirit can fix our minds on those things He would have us to address and come into agreement with Him concerning. That we might hear the word of the Lord in our ears, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

What a blessing it is every time we are able to meet with and hear from the Israeli ministries coming to speak to Christians and Messianic Jews in the nations. The Body of Messiah in Israel is one of the best kept secrets of Christendom. Thank God that He is revealing His secrets to His people.
Pray that the hearts of the believers in all the nations would be knit to these Israeli brothers and sisters in such a profound way that it will significantly impact the Lord’s harvest through them in Israel. They are those who are carrying precious seed within Israel and a mighty testimony of the authenticity of Israel’s Messiah to those in the nations.
For many Christians who love Israel, they are trying to be “grafted in to” unsaved Israel instead of understanding that the Romans 11 grafting into the olive tree pertains to a grafting in to the household of FAITH. Grafts are done on the living shoots, not on the broken off branches. Pray for the opening of eyes to see whom we are related to, and to give preference to in honoring Yeshua.
No matter how long we have loved Israel, we still need a road map or a friendly native son (Israeli Messianic ministry) to help us navigate who’s who and what’s what. Many Israel-loving Christians have been duped into MAJOR funding of entities in Israel who persecute the Body of Messiah there. We have responsibility before God where we plant our seed. How can we “bless Israel” by putting money into the hands of those who persecute His body in Israel?
Pray for those who are too trusting of anything “Israel” placing funds into hands that take advantage. Pray those who have refused to listen when believers tried to bring the truth of these matters to them, and that God would give them an open spirit to know the truth of these matters.
Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East, but it is no island of perfection either! Pray for the Messianic attorneys who are upholding the principles of freedom and liberty for many groups who are being discriminated against in Israel, among them believers in Yeshua.
Pray specifically for the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, which is led by Messianic Jewish believers, and is advancing justice, freedom, and democracy in the State of Israel.
According to one Israeli news report, there is a move among the religious political parties to grant rabbis immunity for any interpretation they give of the Torah. This is about the same as saying they can issue the equivalent of a “fatwa” against anyone and not be held responsible. (Not as far-fetched an idea as you might think, unfortunately.) Pray to God that such a bill does not pass muster in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament.
In the murder and attempted murder trial of religious zealot Jack Teitel, the defense is waging an intense trial battle to have Teitel declared mentally incompetent to stand trial. The truth is that Teitel is sane, just full of a doctrine of hate. Appeal to the Most Supreme Judge who holds the hearts of the three Israeli judges hearing Teitel’s case so that justice for Ami Ortiz and Sami Balbisi is realized through a trial which lays the truth bare to the public and holds Teitel and his accomplices to account.
Thank God that in the U.N. this past week, the United States used its veto of a condemnation of Israeli settlements. The Obama administration waffles between two opinions – that of the elder foreign policy voices and that of the new far, far Left voices the president brought in. Pray that God would overturn the influence of those who are counseling the president with evil intentions toward Israel.
Pray for the Messianic kibbutz on the outskirts of Jerusalem that has a major role in the future for the growth of the Body in Israel. Demonic attacks on this work are many. Pray also for a similarly strategic facility in Beer Sheva that serves the believers of the Negev. Also for the orchard ministry in the north, and the retreat/worship centers in the Galilee, Samaria and in the Judean Hills. These are strategic houses of the Lord for ministry to the Body in Israel.
The news program on Messianic Judaism is in the editing process and is scheduled for public broadcast the first week of March. Pray for fair and favorable coverage of the believers in Israel, and for many hearts to be softened toward them and Yeshua in the Israeli public.
As the Iranian warships have now been allowed to go through the Suez Canal, we are praying in agreement with the prayer alert sent out by prophetic intercessors at Succat Hallel in Jerusalem:
PRAY for great wisdom for the military and political leaders of Israel in how to deal with this provocation correctly. Pray that demonic schemes will be exposed and foiled. Pray that other nations would know how to respond. Proclaim over the Mediterranean coast that "Life and not Death shall come forth out of these waters" (see 2 Kings 2:19-22).
Two ministries ask for prayer this week for evangelism and revival in the Body in Israel. Join your voices with theirs for a stirred up passion among the believers and for the direction of the Holy Spirit in whom the Lord has prepared hearts with meekness to receive the engrafted word, which is able to save souls.
Pray for the leaders – and all the people of Israel – that the Father with would give them eyes to see and ears to hear, a heart conditioned by the Spirit to hear the Word of Truth, to understand, repent and be healed in the name of Yeshua. (This is a reversal of the temporary judgment of Isaiah 6:10 on the nation of Israel, in line with the Ezekiel 37 word, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O you dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.)
Israel is preparing itself for war. New gas masks have been issued. Humanitarian groups are busy collecting and appealing for stockpiles of necessities that will be needed should war break out. With upheaval as great as it is in the Middle Eastern Arab nations, Israel is wise to prepare now for whatever is coming. Pray for the storehouses to be filled, for believers to give into the many organizations and congregations of BELIEVERS in Israel to be as Joseph to their brothers in the flesh.
While we do not believe the end is as near as many think – we are still looking for things that have not been fulfilled yet (Ez 38:11) – we do understand that the enemy ALWAYS comes out to try to destroy the Jewish people before salvation comes. This may not be the end of the end, but it is still a time of grave danger to Israel and we must stand with the Body there in every way to limit the damage the enemy seeks to do.
The ultra-Orthodox bused in hundreds to protest the Messianic congregation in Ashdod on 2/21. It got very threatening to believers there to report on what was happening. You can view the report My Saddest Night in Israel:
"As my heart pounded more and more, I kept repeating to myself 'I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah'. I suddenly had a glimpse like never before of what it must have been like for Peter or Stephen to suddenly find themselves surrounded by a hate-filled mob."
It appears that an anti-missionary site may have been responsible for targeting the congregation in Ashdod in a negative report they did on Jan 29th called “Food, Clothing & the Gospel”.
The same anti-Messiah site is also targeting Mike Huckabee for Jewish groups to pressure about not making any more connections with Messianic Jewish groups like MJBI, the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute. Pray for Huckabee not to compromise the Body in Israel or the gospel by distancing himself from Jewish believers in Jesus.

Whatever else the unrest in all the Middle Eastern nations means, one thing we know it means, the Christians in those nations have entered a period of elevated threat level… and so has Israel.
The Middle East learning curve is steep so there is much “fog of war” surrounding the unrest. Not knowing the histories of the tug of war between religious Islam and secular-oriented rule in the region, many of us have had an unwarranted optimism for western style democracy. Most do not realize in the past 60 years the pendulum has swept back and forth. Truly the souls are hanging in the balance even as the Spirit of Messiah is being revealed under the radar in so many of these Muslim nations. Let competing narratives fall away and the view of the Lord be discerned in the household of faith.
This is why the most important voices to listen to in situations like this, are the voices of the Spirit-led believers in the strategic battle zones. Pray that ‘the fog of war’ will be lifted off of the truth, and the spiritual issues surrounding the unrest in Egypt and all the Middle Eastern nations would be revealed to those following Yeshua /Jesus. Pray that we can come into agreement with the Remnants in each of those lands and to the purposes of the LORD in this season.

March 1 the ultra-Orthodox of Arad have a demonstration of 400 planned outside of the private residence of a Messianic believer. Her crime? A widow, Polly is a foster parent and the ultra-Orthodox accuse her of trying to “steal the souls” of Jewish children. This is the 7th annual March protest on Polly’s home.
For the believers of Arad, March 1 will be a day of fasting and prayer for the unbelievers and religious persecutors – for the Light to be revealed to them. You are invited to agree in prayer and to break the cruses that will be hurled out that day against believers.
Also in Arad one falsely accused married believer in Israel has been freed from house arrest while another has been put in jail because the wife called the police wanting the husband to get counseling. New to the area, she did not know it would end up with her husband jailed indefinitely.
The Beckfords who know something about the way believers are badly handled by Arad police, have a vision for building a community center. One of its functions would be to provide believers a place to be paroled to instead of house arrest.
Eddie Beckford has been under house arrest around 3 years now when in truth he is there because he is targeted for persecution by the ultra-Orthodox. Pray for funds to be raised for this center to serve the believers of Arad. Drive their stakes into the ground of Arad!
A Jerusalem ministry reports on surprises they discovered in Amsterdam at the Anne Frank memorial house – a film that equated treatment of Dutch police toward Holland’s illegal immigrants with the Nazi attempted genocide of Jews. Outside on the streets a “Homomounument” supporting gays & lesbians aligning itself with the struggle embodied in the Anne Frank house. Pray for the Netherlands.
Pray for Israeli Jewish believers who are going into nations to preach the gospel and to strengthen the brothers in the faith and toward the wholeness of Jew and Gentile made one in the Body of Yeshua. Anointing on meetings and strong covenants formed with brothers.
Pray for an upcoming TV documentary of Messianic Judaism – no weapon formed against those featured or those featuring. Pray for fair treatment and portrayal of believers in this Israeli news production.
The call of the LORD upon Jewish believers to return to the Israeli homeland, and to specific locations within Israel is something we have heard over and over. Called from all walks of life to labor in a hardened field – but you would never know it from the radiant smiles of those that know they are where the Lord has placed them. Mazal tov to the Basses on their 30th anniversary of salvation.
Pray for all of those ministries – many Jewish and many Christian Arab – who are living sacrificial lives in order to bring much need healing to wounds. They are literally bringing healing to the broken hearted and binding up their wounds. As they water, so may they be watered.
Family is a strong element of the Jewish experience, but among the followers of Yeshua it is the key to a living testimony to unsaved neighbors and friends. Pray for all the congregations and ministries that are placing a priority focus on building up the families into brightly shining lights that cannot be hid.
More Israeli ministries are going to Facebook. It is a great tool for making new friends, connecting with old friends or giving short blasts from your ministry – but it is not secure from enemy eyes.
Pray for the cousin of Barbara Streisand who is being denied Israeli citizenship because he was spotted as the Facebook friend of an Israeli Messianic Ministry.
Pray for those in Israel who are challenging religious and civil rights violations in the courts.
Pray for those seeking new facilities that God will open a door that no man can shut.
Pray for the storehouses of Israeli ministries to be filled with the generosity of those who see the storm clouds gathering over the Middle East, and desire to have a part in preparing the Body of Israel to be a blessing in the days ahead.
Yeshua Israel wrote this week: “What we must be alert for is missing our moment. Esther was warned not to be so absorbed in her life of luxury that she missed the reason God put her there. Let us ask ourselves, “Why am I where I am today? Why have I been given what I have? Why do I know the strategic people I know?”
In years past the Israeli media treated Israeli Messianic Jewish believers as if they did not exist – no mention of them in the press. Now there is much mention of the Israeli Body of believers in the past several years – mostly stemming from persecution. Often the media reports are positive, other times negative and some are a mixed bag.
Pray for David Lazarus & the Beit Immanuel congregation which appears to suddenly be receiving a lot of media attention. Proclaim “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” The Lazarus family fits that to a T, as do all the wonderful Body in Israel.
Mazal Tov also to proud new grandparent David and Josie Silver, who son and daughter-in-law Keren, gave birth to a baby girl last week. Avigail is the first member of the Silver family born in Israel.
Pray for the pro-life movement in Israel which many of the Israeli ministries participate in. The number of legal abortions performed in Israel dropped by 19% in recent years. Hallelujah for the lives saved, but their hearts are set on changing many more hearts to value precious life.

The Christian watchman below is standing on the wall at an ancient gateway conquerors used to enter Israel, at the port city Acco. After entering by sea, the armies would travel over to the Jordan and follow it down and over to Jerusalem. Acco remains an important spiritual gateway, only 12 miles south of the Lebanon border.

In 2009, a prophetic intercessor from the Middle East wrote, “There are many "Hidden Agendas" that are active behind the scenes, as the enemy throws in the foreground different issues so that all, including the body of Christ, will be busy with such "Seen Agendas" while the Hidden Ones are operating actively. By the time we discover that we should have listened to God's voice and heard from Him, it may be too late.
“…In the book of 2 Samuel 15-16, when David was dethroned, everybody was thinking about how to deal with Absalom. It was only David who directed his prayers against Ahithophel as he knew that he was the one fueling the battle. The point is, David knew what he should pray for. He didn't pray about what was seen by everybody. Instead he prayed "O' Lord, turn Ahithophel's counsel into foolishness". He didn't move according to the seen agenda, he discerned the hidden ones.”
“He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he himself is surrounded by light.” Daniel 2:22
Pray for the hidden agendas to be revealed that we may pray from Heaven’s perspective over Egypt. Pray also that while the world is concentrated on Egypt, that we do not lose sight of those moving in the shadows against the Lord’s people and purposes.

The Egyptian uprising has turned out to be one of the most complex and confusing situations I have ever considered in 20 years of Israel Watching. Eddie always does a fantastic job of breaking down the political events that relate to Israel and this is no exception.
Three government psychiatrists have testified for the prosecution that Jack Teitel is mentally fit to stand trial for the murders and attempted murders he has confessed to – including the important admission that Teitel worked with Yad L’Achim and took orders from one of them.
Next hearing is 2/15 and Teitel’s THIRTEEN privately hired psychiatrists will tell why he is mentally UNfit to stand trial!!! Who is paying for all this? The young, inexperienced prosecutor is also calling Teitel’s mother and wife to testify that he is sane. How can this be good?
As the Ortiz family writes, “This battle will be won on our knees.”
Asher Intrater lists implications of a fall of the Egyptian government. None good for Israel or the world, for that matter. Pray for the turnaround today of the Obama administration to hold: Today they stopped pressuring Mubarak to leave immediately and conceded it best for him to stay up to the elections in the Fall. Bind the evil forces of Islamic jihad and pray for a release of revival and evangelism in Egypt.
A group of Christian Arab and Messianic Jewish believers in a northern city of Israel have been meeting for times of prayer together on a regular basis. This is more common for leaders than for congregants, as this group is mostly comprised. Pray for God’s blessing on their desire to cry out with one voice.
Messianics continue to form bonds with believers in Germany and in the Far East. These are two different kinds of ministry going on, but both are critical to the future. Pray for Divine connections of unbreakable bonds to be forged by all engaged in these important works.
Pray for the Gospel to be heard throughout the Middle East by broadcasters who are delivering the uncompromised good news to dry and thirsty peoples all along the Isaiah 19 highway.
One Israeli pastor in the Negev remembered a message from an Egyptian church leader in 1992 speaking on Isaiah 19: “This preacher spoke prophetically then that those who oppress Egypt (Is 19:20) are not Egyptians, but Arab Muslims who have come in.” He wrote, “After the gospel went out from Israel, many in Egypt became Christians, and the Copts today continue that heritage. The burden which these ‘oppressors’ bring will be used by the Lord to turn the Egyptians to call upon Him for a Savior and a Mighty Deliverer.”
While it appears some of Isaiah 19 is being fulfilled today, other parts may not be. Our prayer is that God will reveal to the hearing Body worldwide, how to pray in agreement with the Heavenly vision for Egypt and all the surrounding nations. As goes Egypt, so goes the Arab world.
At the start of the new year we hear from many of the ministries as they recount the past year and project toward the new year of their ministries. Subscribers may open and read those accounts which will be an encouragement to you that the Lord is indeed building His Living Temple in the Land of Israel.
Several ministries that were being supported primarily by denominational mission pledges are now losing those support means. Pray for the Lord to supply all their need according to His riches, by stirring up new sources of support for these ministry families.
Another ministry that was sharing its facility with another Tel Aviv congregation is ALSO losing its facility. The two have discussed going in together to secure a new facility for their Friday night and Saturday morning Shabbat services. Pray for God to provide a secure and affordable place to house their congregations and ministries.
The uprooting of ministries from facilities often means uprooting from homes, as well. One is losing a Guest House that served to pay for support ministries and outreaches. Please pray over those who are going through much upheaval, loss of resources and the little security that we treasure of having a place to call our own. These changes are hard on families. Speak grace upon them.
While it looks like we are losing ground, we declare that this is just the last ditch effort to us turn back from mighty turnarounds coming. Though the rain beats down, we shall not be moved!
When someone comes to the Lord it is something to rejoice about. When someone comes to the Lord and then passes into eternity shortly afterward – this is a place to shout about the mercies of the LORD our God. There is seed planted in many elderly Jewish and Arabs – call for it to bloom in faith before their end.
Thank God for the work done by the folks at the Caspari Media Review who follow what is written in the Hebrew publications related to our faith and then summarize those items weekly for English speakers. What a treasure trove of information they unearth for all of us who do not speak Hebrew.
One of the items Caspari featured in the Feb 3rd issue was a Haifa TV magazine which featured the life story of the pastor of the Carmel Congregation who was a Broadway actor before coming to know Yeshua and moving to Israel. “Yeshua covered me in light,” David Davis said. Our grandson Karl continues to show promising signs that his brain is communicating with his body but he still is not able to follow commands or see even though he often has his eyes open for hours at a time. His mom is staying with him at the hospital 24/7 even doing her job from her laptop and phone there. She is mothering over him, delighted with the tiniest of good signs…and also feeling the lows of it taking so long for the truly encouraging signs to manifest. Thank you so much for your prayers. “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left.”
Our priority prayer focus is that the Body will not have confusion over the many voices speaking direction in the midst of this crisis in Egypt and the Middle East, but that we will each be able to hear the Voice of the Lord for ourselves. As we hear and weigh the perspectives of the prophets and the pundits, we will each be able to discern the Voice of the Lord saying, This is the way, walk in it, I will guide the right turns and the left turns through this path you have not walked before.

Thursday FEB 3 is Ami Ortiz’ birthday! It is also the next scheduled court date – there have been many – to see if a final judgment is made on whether Jack Teitel is “mentally fit” to stand trial. He is - the foot dragging is a farce. Pray the judges who will hear the case will rule in truth and justice, not in hypocrisy and cover up.

The continued connections between German Christians and Israeli Messianic Jews is one of the heartening things the Prince of Peace is working between two deeply wounded nations. Pray for the pouring from vessel to vessel to be fruitful and multiply through both nations.
Pray for the Israeli ministries doing this critical relationship mending between brothers – that their families and ministries will be protected and covered from the enemy touching anything that pertains to them. Pray for the favor of God and men to rest upon them, their families and ministries.
In Akko and other places throughout Israel, Gaza and the West Bank the Christian Arab community were able to plant much seed for salvation during the Christmas holidays. Pray that the seed will be watered, the Son would shine on it and that faith would blossom in hearts and produce abundant fruit.
That God for those who come alongside to help the Arab Christians throughout Israel and the region, and especially those whose hearts have softened toward their brothers in the Messianic community and towards Israel. This is not always the case – but where the Prince of Peace is at work this is a two-way street of brotherly love overcoming even ancient enmity.
Pray for all the believers, both Christian Arab and Messianic Jew, who are going through Bible schools or other levels of higher education for the work of the ministry. Pray also for those in the IDF with learning curves they must also master. Pray that they would have the mind of Messiah for all the work before them.
As many Israeli congregations have made it a focus to establish “sabra” congregations that are oriented to Israeli-born Jews, there is a new concept toward establishing Arab Christian congregations that are oriented toward former Muslims. Pray for God to guide both to that narrow path which welcomes people without compromising the new creation lives.
Pray for the new and re-issue of worship music from Israeli musicians. Pray for new opportunities for the music to be enjoyed in diverse places. What a powerful expression – Praise awaits you in Zion, O Lord!
Thank God for the healing of the Lord. As we reported last week the mother of a ministry was in bad shape in ER. After prayer, her mother began to completely turn around to the point other relatives were exclaiming, ‘What is this?!” Thank God that He is mighty to heal. Pray for complete recovery.
Thank God for the rain and snow that began in Israel on Tuesday, that the winter “latter rains” would replenish much depleted water reserves.
One Israeli pastor requests prayer about the warfare against the young people many being lured into evil through the doors of cyber technology. Pray for anointed ministries and prayer teams in all the congregations and families guarding over the precious souls of the young….and the old.
Pray for the anointing to teach, to train and to be discipled among the congregations and ministries of Israel. Pray for many Joseph’s and Daniel’s, and Esther’s and Deborah’s to be raised up among the young believers, who will walk in integrity and anointing before God and man.
Real men honor Messiah. Thank God for the ministries that create fellowship for men, for opportunities to be spiritual men among spiritual men, and to further develop in the mind of Messiah for their role in the family, the congregation and the community.
Thank God for women’s ministries serving the wounded, the abandoned, the widow, single parent and orphans. “The generous soul will be made rich, And she who waters will also be watered herself.” Prov 11:25

One Israeli pastor requests prayer about the warfare against the young people many being lured into evil through the doors of cyber technology. Pray for anointed ministries and prayer teams in all the congregations and families guarding over the precious souls of the young….and the old.
Pray for the anointing to teach, to train and to be discipled among the congregations and ministries of Israel. Pray for many Joseph’s and Daniel’s, and Esther’s and Deborah’s to be raised up among the young believers, who will walk in integrity and anointing before God and man.
Real men honor Messiah. Thank God for the ministries that create fellowship for men, for opportunities to be spiritual men among spiritual men, and to further develop in the mind of Messiah for their role in the family, the congregation and the community.
Thank God for women’s ministries serving the wounded, the abandoned, the widow, single parent and orphans. “The generous soul will be made rich, And she who waters will also be watered herself.” Prov 11:25
