WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 1/28/2015

Arrows from Zion

Priority Prayer Focus Jan 28, 2015

Praying the headlines – that’s really where it’s at right now whether in the Americas or on the European continent – the warfare is obvious.  I want to encourage you to read Martin Sarvis’ full prayer perspecitve which cover what the signs are in Europe and in the U.S.  This really registers in in my spirit – see if you don’t sense the same.

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

This week I have put Martin Sarvis’ letter in the first position because I believe his insights into the European and American situations regarding Israel to be spot on.  There is no doubt that the rise of attacks on Jews in Europe is tied to the Islam, not only acting as the new Nazis of Europe, but also infecting the native populations with Jew hatred.  America is in the same process of being Islamized, just several years behind on the curve.

Nevertheless – as believers in these lands, we have a spiritual obligation to fight the fight of faith for the hearts and souls of the people of our nations.  No doubt God is using the rise of aggressive Islam in Europe (and eventually it will be in America too) to persuade Jews to return to the ancient homeland of Israel.  That does not mean we give up on the truth being presented in our own lands. This is our battle and Martin Sarvis puts forth a powerful call to stand for our nations and for Israel and the Jewish people. You must open the attached PDF Weekly Summary for the vision and the prayer points in detail for the European call…and also in the USA:

The contentions arising within nations regarding their relations and alignments with Israel may have been epitomized this week by events in Washington when the Speaker of the House invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to address a joint Senate-House session on the subject of Iran.  Now that Republicans are in a majority in both houses, this is the kind of push-back that was given after the Obama administration brought in the UK Prime Minister to directly lobby the Congress not to intervene in their plans for continuing negotiations with Iran.

Not only did this create uproar from the White House and Obama’s media lap dogs, in Israel where everything is focused on new elections, Netanyahu was slammed for accepting the invitation.  With  what I consider great dignity, Netanyahu said,
As prime minister of Israel, I am obligated to make every effort in order to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapons that would be aimed at the State of Israel…This effort is worldwide and I will go anywhere I am invited in order to enunciate the State of Israel’s position aid in order to defend its future and its existence”

Read more of these events and how to pray for the will of God in all these things in Sarvis’ letter which is first up inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary

Revive Israel, the personal ministry of Asher Intrater, have a couple of teachings this week: a written article Turning point and a 6 min video Touching Yeshua about the desperation of faith that releases not only individual healing, but will also release healing for our nations.  And inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary is a short piece by Paul Wilbur titled Legacy.

Revive Israel prayer request cover Tal’s ministry in the Czech Republic; prayers for heating up on the northern border with Lebanon and Syria; prayer about the Japanese hostages; for revival in southeast Asia; and for justice to come to light in Argentina and the murder of a Jewish investigative reporter in connection with a government cover up of involvement with Iran in the Buenos Aires terror attack in 1994.

Sally Shiff, who is the lead intercessory at the Hamaayan congregation in Kfar Saba, writes about her trip back home to the states – reconciliation with her unsaved Jewish family members and how God has impressed upon her heart that, “Before I can call you to the lost sheep of Israel, you need not forget how much I love the family I placed you in.”  This she relates to Malachi 4 when the hearts of families are turned back to each other.  (If we cannot love our families, who can we love?)

Sally also writes, “The eyes of the Jews are becoming curious to know Yeshua, and we believers in Israel are becoming bolder to share and live by our faith. . . . Eyes are being opened (very slowly), and yet, there is becoming a separation of the sheep and goats. In spite of all this, there is a huge fight in the spirit. Those of us who are standing in the gap here are experiencing an unusual amount of sickness.”
She also appeals for intercessors to join them in prayer.

Dov Bikas who is doing evangelism and, seriously, rescue outreach among drug addicts and sexual abuse victims in Tel Aviv, says “there are thousands of prostitutes in Israel and most of them are drug addicts. Many live in the streets and are mercilessly abused. We want to provide spiritual help and support for all women in need, but especially for victims of addictions and prostitution.  We want to bring to women marginalized by society the good news of freedom and salvation through Jesus the Messiah, so that they can glorify God through their renewed and transformed lives and witness to others in Israel.”

Their Aviv ministry program is based on sound Scriptural teaching. They have an experienced, strong leadership team, including a missionary couple that lives in Haifa and has been working successfully with women several years already. They have the support and cooperation of the congregation “Bethesda” and of the Christian men's rehab center in Haifa which will partner with them.  They have a plan which you can read in more detail inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.  What they need is committed financial and prayer partners from the nations to come alongside them in the work.

Israel Pochtar, who leads a network of congregations from the mother Beit Hallel congregation writes this week about their work with many of the Ukrainian Jews who have been fleeing the conflict and violence in that nation to resettle in Israel.  Pochtar writes, “So far, we've been able to raise enough funds to carry out the first project and help 100 families. We're looking to not only continue such an important project, but to expand it and help as many families as possible.”

He writes, “Currently there are approximately 50,000 Ukrainian Jewish refugees in Israel. Their situation is very difficult here, arriving with nothing, no job, with no help. . . . You can become a part of this amazing outreach and help us feed, clothe and provide basic essentials for these families, many of whom have fled a terrible war zone leaving everything they had behind.  Any gift or contribution, even as little as $20 is great blessings and is able to provide a food basket. Larger gifts can assist in putting together a basket with essentials such as utensils/winter blanket, etc.  Would you help us bless these precious families?”

Pochtar also writes about the Holocaust memorial event he was asked to attend in Cyprus that is put on by a Greek pastor, Stavros Ignatiou.  Foreign dignitaries and ambassadors from countries like Germany, France & England are invited. Last year they attended and it was amazing to see so many high ranking officials alongside Israeli government officials honoring the Holocaust victims and survivors.  Stavros also invited Holocaust survivors who share their testimony and it's always very powerful and impacting.”  Read more inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary

Howard Bass of the Beer Sheva congregation writes,” Our son-in-law, Joseph, has been working to put together an international site for letting those who are in interested in the Messianic/Christian Community (kehila) in Israel to have a collective resource on one site.  It is one way of expressing the corporate unity of the Body here.  You can view the site here:  www.kehila.com .”

Bass writes, “After a week of cold and heavy rains, we are enjoying warmer than normal temperatures for the time of year.  The dry stream beds in the Negev can sometimes become a suddenly wet bed.  Here is a video of just this that occurred recently in Nahal Zin.  Also, I wrote a reflection on our Streams in the Negev website about God's sovereign creative and redemptive work and presence in a general universal way, and also in special particular ways.  And, lastly, I gave a teaching recently inspired by the accusatory question put to Yeshua:  "Who are You?!"  Do we know who we are?”

Arni Klein of Emmaus Way writes, January 27th will mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.  Jewish and gentile believers from various nations are gathering there for some days of prayer, remembrance, and seeking the Lord.  It is a most crucial time as the event takes place against a backdrop of unprecedented worldwide anti-Semitism that will ultimately pave the way for another holocaust.  We pray that the Body in the land and the nations would understand the root of this disease is nothing less than an anti-God spirit that does not respond to reason or facts.  May the veil be lifted off the eyes of the Jews In the nations to not make the same mistake as our ancestors did in the 30’s and say, “It can’t happen here.”  May a great aliyah be released from the West before it’s too late.”

Arni lays out developments in their vision for the Galilee Worship and prayer retreat: “
The vision we have shared for worship gatherings in the Galilee is coming into place.  Already, after only our first gathering, there are six groups scheduled over the next nine months- from Germany, Canada and Singapore.”  You can read the full details of what they see ahead  for this aspect of their ministry inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary

The Lotan’s in Alfei-Menashe in the Western Samaria Hills have an immediate change in their donation arrangements within the US.  You can read details inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary

Rick Ridings of Succat Hallel in Jerusalem introduces another of their full time Israeli staff at the 24/7 prayer and praise house, introducing Tsachi and Angie Dahan. Succat Hallel used to pull its staff from volunteers outside of Israel connected with the 24/7 prayer movement.  This transition they have made to bring on Israelis who are citizens and ministry oriented is a great thing – however, the support for them must be raised in the nations.  Find out more about the ministry at jerusalempraise.com

We have received powerful spiritual visions and insights from Rick Ridings and others involved with this prayer ministry over the years in Israel.  We do encourage you to support the work, and also their Israeli staff, all of whom are young adults with a passion to serve the Lord.
