The words of the Paul Wilbur song, Days of Elijah, come to mind as the priority prayer this week:

These are the days of Elijah,
Declaring the word of the Lord:
And these are the days of Your servant Moses,
Righteousness being restored.
And though these are days of great trial,
Of famine and darkness and sword,
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying
'Prepare ye the way of the Lord!'

Pray for an understanding of the times we are in – the birth pangs of the Messiah. It is not a time for fear, but of great anticipation of the great things God is doing and about to do in our midst. Pray for all those standing in terrible trials – that Yeshua will lift them up and many will enter into the Kingdom that cannot be shaken.

Israeli Ministries thank those who prayed for violence to be limited on “Nakba Day”. There was violence and shocking events as hoards poured over the border – but it could have been worse, and Israelis fear it will become worse. The believers are grateful for the prayers of the saints for the protection of Israel.

Along with the so-called “Arab Spring” (doesn’t that really mean the time when kings go out to war?), comes increased hostility aimed at Israel.

“Please join us in raising up a mighty intercession for Israel in this time of attack. Pray that the truth would be heard above the lies.

Pray that the true purposes of organizations like Hamas, Hezballah, Fatah as well as the nations that surround us would be clearly manifest and understood.

Pray for disunity in the camps of our enemies and supernatural protection for Israel.”

Pray for Israeli citizens who are deeply troubled to have seen masses of people with hatred overflowing Israel’s borders, bent on destruction of Israel. Pray that God would comfort the troubled with a revelation of the true identity of His Messiah, the One who rises to Israel’s ultimate defense.

Our condolences to Eitan Shishkoff and the Shishkoff family who have bid farewell to Eitan’s mother , Muriel , on the first day of Passover. Our brother wrote very beautiful words in his prayer letter (in the Weekly Summary/ by subscription only) about God’s command to honor the elderly, especially our parents.

The Silvers write today with an urgent request for prayer for Paul Sherbo’s wife, Hana, who suffering from cancer has now been diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. Doctors have done all they can. Hana needs a Divine intervention for physical healing….and also for salvation.

The teens of believing families across Israel came together for a “One Heart” 3-day youth camp in April. Katzir means Harvest, and this is the spiritual investment of the group’s leaders upon the teens for their own place in the spiritual harvest fields of Israel. Pray for these young people to be of “one heart” with Yeshua.

Another desert gathering was the recent “second phase of an 'experimental project' for Musalaha (Reconciliation ministries) bringing together young Israelis, Palestinians and Americans. Evan Thomas has an encouraging report inside the Weekly Summary / by subscription only about tackling the difficult issues between these groups in a setting that bonds of our fellowship of faith is also prioritized. This is a witness of the power of Yeshua.

Ron Cantor and the Messiah’s Mandate team have returned from Nigeria with full hearts and stirring testimonies. The beginning of those stories were beamed out to us via internet from Nigeria, but more to come in the days ahead. Thank God for the salvations, healing and firing up of evangelistic passion in these ministry partnerships between Israeli and Nigerian ministries.

Thank God that the work of the Lord in Israel continues to press outward in every direction – congregational life, publishing, humanitarian aid, social media, video, one-on-one outreach - the Spirit is stirred in the lives of the Israeli Body. Thank God.

It's not particularly surprising that Mahmoud Abbas, often dubbed "moderate" by the media (as opposed, for instance, to the "hawkish" Netanyahu), would fabricate about the past, contradicting a clear historical record.

Moreover, given the direction of The New York Times coverage in recent months, and given its record of using its Op-Ed page as a platform for anti-Israel propagandists – a CAMERA study in 2008 found that the newspaper published twice as many anti-Israel Op-Eds as it did pro-Israel Op-Eds – it's not even surprising that the paper would readily print Abbas's fabrications in its pages.

But it's also reprehensible.The Palestinian Authority leader's Op-Ed today is full of omissions and historical revisionism that essentially amount to lies.

"Therefore give to Your servant(s) an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I(we) may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" 1 Kings 3:9

“But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:14

If there was ever a time when the people of God needed an understanding heart to discern between good and evil, it is the days we live in. This is a priority for this season of confusing developments that are surrounded by the fog of spiritual warfare.

As Israeli ministry leaders and pastors return from their bi-annual Sitting At Yeshua’s Feet gathering, pray that everything the LORD did among them would continue to blossom, bear and multiply spiritual fruit. Pray for the ‘trickle down effect’ – what God did for the leaders to trickle down in refreshing upon the congregations of Israel.

The team of young Israelis going forth with the Messiah’s mandate for the gospel to go forth from Zion has landed safely in Nigeria. Although the recent Muslim violence against Nigerian Christians has not being taking place in the north where these Israelis will be ministering, please pray for the LORD to be with them mightily in every way and every step they take.

Americans rejoiced at the news of Osama bin Laden’s demise, but Asher Intrater asks three probing questions inside the Weekly Summary, relating to parallels that are ignored when Israel does the exact same thing to protect herself. Pray the American Body of Christ will get real on these issues.

Also inside the Weekly Summary, an invitation to join a worldwide night of intercession to pray for the pouring out of the Spirit on all flesh before the second coming of the LORD. The time will be 12 hours on the eve of Shavuot (Pentecost), Tuesday-Wednesday, June 7 – 8, 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM, Israeli time.

One Israeli ministry visited with the churches recovering from devastation in Christchurch, NZ in February and report, “It was such a powerful testimony to see the Body of Messiah functioning as 'the head and not the tail'.” It is a good reminder to pray for those whose national disasters have faded from media reports.

We are also encouraged by the same ministry not to be fearful of event indicative of the Matthew 24 “birth pangs” of the Messiah. Even the ‘stable governments’ of the Middle East being overthrown has caused apprehension in Israel, but we are to keep our eyes on Yeshua & His promises to us.

We reported last week on the persecution against the Kleins forcing them out of their home and ministry HQ in the Judean Hills. The situation is still extremely fluid, so please pray for the LORD’s will to be done and for them to recognize His will when it presents itself.

Pray for the work the Kliens are involved with Germany: “something the Lord had said seven years ago concerning His intention to birth a youth and young adult movement among the “fourth generation” in Germany.” Later in May Arni will join intercessors in Northampton in the U.K. for “fasting and seeking the Lord for light on His purposes for England regarding Israel.” Pray for God’s purposes to be revealed.

Pray also for the Israel Mandate Conference to be held at IHOP in Kansas City this weekend. KC IHOP distinguishes itself among the prophetic church for its dedication for including the Body in Israel with its vision for seeking God’s purposes for Israel. A true Messianic apostle, Daniel Juster, will be one of the speakers of Israel Mandate.

Carolyn Hyde, a well known Messianic psalmist/worshipper, has been denied (along with her daughter), a renewal of her Israeli passport. This is illegal and they are making a legal appeal – but it is also typical of the persecution against Jewish believers in Jesus. Pray the decision of the Interior Ministry will be overruled – it is not a shoe-in just because it is illegal. Please pray through.

Orthodox soldiers have also been targeting the Carolyn & Richard’s son "A". Commanders are looking into the matter. Please pray for the commanders: “You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free.”

Pray for Israeli ministries now booking openings in spring and summer tours outside Israel. Pray for new venues to be opened so new relationships may be forged. Pray also for the many Christians who will be visiting Israel in the 2011 tourist season. Pray for connections with the Body of Messiah in Israel.

In Akko, a small ministry has been targeted by Yad L’Achim with fliers that were mailed in their neighborhood. One recipient called them to get more information about their beliefs. There is no way to tell if the caller was sincere or laying a trap for the couple. This is also the dilemma many believers in Israel face. Pray for their protection and for the LORD to order their steps.

Shani Ferguson of Yeshua Israel Ministries is due to deliver her baby any day now. She and Kobi have three daughters and look forward to welcoming their first son into the world. Pray a good and easy deliver for mother & son.

Over the past few days America is rejoicing that the al-Qaeda leader responsible for the 9/11 attacks has been dispatched to his eternal destiny. While many are in celebration mode though, the witness in my Spirit is that the world just got far more dangerous and especially more dangerous for Israel. Unity Government between Hamas and Fatah Please pray against any unity between these forces of darkness. Yeshua said that a house divided against itself cannot stand. It is our hope and desire to see the enemies - of Israel, the Western world and most importantly God - fragmented and divided rather than increasingly unified.

Some in the international media believe that a unity government between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority is a sign of forward motion progress, but nothing could be further from the truth. Inside the Weekly Summary Santoro and a member of Asher Intrater’s ministry explain why.

One notes that this agreement is leading up to the declaration of Palestinian statehood in September which is unleashing a massive anti-Israeli campaign to pave its way.

The Egyptian Government Many moves have been made in the new Egyptian government that the press has not been shining any light on – light that would dispel the idealism that democracy and good will have taken hold in the change of leadership. The new developments are “a matter of grave concern for Israel’s defense strategy.” Please pray for this dangerous and quickly changing situation on our southern border.

Holocaust Memorial Day “As in the days of Hitler, the Jews again find themselves being villianized, hated and isolated. Truth is again being overwhelmed by endless lies and a sleeping world seems all too willing to ignore what is happening…. These are not easy times for this nation but ultimately, we find our peace and hope not in world politics but in our God. We ask you to please pray for this revelation of God's love for this nation to be spread abroad in people's hearts.”

Many Israeli Ministries are noting the passing of a great mentor and friend, David Wilkerson, who died in a tragic car accident in Texas on April 27th. One ministry, David and Karen Davis of the Carmel congregation, share their tribute to the man who was a spiritual father to them and others in the Israeli ministry community.

David Davis also asks for prayer surrounding the called for “Third Intifida,” May 15. Pray the Lord will thwart any planned acts of violence against Israel. Muslims are calling for a Third Intifida and for Palestinians to march upon the borders of Israel with violence, as they proclaim the soon demise of the State of Israel. Pray for vigilance and wisdom for our government concerning the intentions of Iran, Syria and Hizballah

Sitting at Yeshua’s Feet (SAYF) the bi-annual prayer retreat of the Messianic/Christian leadership community in Israel is going on now. It began on Tuesday and will end Thursday. Howard Bass asks: With the devil roaming about roaring like a lion trying to wreak fear and division among us, please pray for these days to be blessed by the presence of God and of a deep work within each of us to promote the love and the unity which brings joy to our Father in Heaven.

Asher Intrater invites participation in a 12-hour international prayer watch that has the endorsement of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of Israel with the cooperation of local Israeli pastors and prayer houses. The intercession and fasting is called for the eve of Shavuot (Pentecost) Tuesday-Wednesday, June 7 – 8, 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM, local Israeli time. The danger that surrounds the nation of Israel is mirrored in an increased danger surrounding the believing community in Israel. Ministries are still being driven from their homes & ministry venues. Believers still being campaigned against on their jobs. The anti-Messiah activists are still persecuting their targets with seeming impunity. The Body is quiet, but it does not mean their persecutors have not been emboldened by their free rein against believers.

One Israeli ministry is asking for prayer warriors to stand with him in believing for 300 immersions in the Land among all people groups over the coming year.

Thank God for the abundant rains that has been falling in Israel with reports that Israel is especially green at this time. The Sliver’s recall the thanksgiving of Psalm 68:9 You, O God, sent a plentiful rain whereby You confirmed Your inheritance when it was weary. They note: The rains are symbolic and prophetic of the outpouring of His Spirit soon to be released upon His people.
