In Hebrew the word for holocaust is sho’ah.
It is the same word that is translated as storm in Ezekiel 38:9
"You will ascend [an alliance led by Gog, the Prince of Rosh], coming like a storm (Hebrew: sho'ah), covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you"

Please pray: For a massive awakening of desire in Israel to put her trust in the LORD rather than in her allies, her leaders, or her perceived military strength (Psalm 118:8-9; 33:16-17).
"There is nothing that would make the enemy happier than to have the Church take one look at Israel and walk away with disgust, not realizing Israel is in that crucial stage between birth and its first breath."

Orna Greenman of A Sign and A Wonder gets us off to a good start this week with some insights
about the effect of the Holocaust on the people of Israel. She writes about how the Nazis stripped their
victims of human identity leaving them with an identity of the unique numbers
tattooed on their arms. Orna shares the
story of Primo Levi, and Italian Jewish writer who wrote of his experiences in
a book called “Is this a man?” He wrote,
"My
name is 174517… Only by showing my number I can get bread and soup".
Orna notes, “And then he describes in a dry and shocking manner, how the numbers on the arms of all prisoners became their identity. The numbers weren't only serial. There was a whole language encoded in them. By looking at the number people could tell the most important things about you in those days of hell, things like: how long have you been in the camp, in which transport you arrived, where you are from, and if you are about to be sent to the gas chambers.”

You can read Orna’s touching comments on Holocaust Remembrance Day inside the attached weekly summary. She asks for prayers for the salvation of the survivors who are still alive; for the healing of trauma that extend even from the second, third and fourth generations of Holocaust victims; and for the Israeli government to legislate proper care for the deeply impoverished Israeli Holocaust survivors.
Asher Intrater of Revive Israel shares an
article which explores the profound mystery of the relationship between Israel and the Nations. “The
dynamic relationship between the two is as foundational as that between man and
woman, or between heaven and earth. There is a spiritual equilibrium
between the two, like the positive-negative balance in electrical poles or a
chemical equation.”
Revive also features a report by Vanessa Ben Moshe on the Katzir Passover Camp and asks for prayer for the next teen camp which will take place 10 days in July.
Lura Beckford writes about her two-week trip to the U.S. to take care of personal business while Eddie held down the fort in Arad. She writes, “Eddie did something different for Passover Season this year. He and the Sudanese from Arad joined the Triumphal Procession into the city of Jerusalem. Beforehand, they walked over the Old City. He wore one of his “Yeshua loves you” (in Hebrew) T-shirts. He really enjoyed it and came home tired but happy.”

Lura writes, “The Russians are still meeting weekly in our house,
as well as the Youth group from all the congregations. Our garden is looking better since a friend
came and painted some of the playground equipment. The children love playing in
it. . . . The orthodox are still
coming to our house once in a while. The last time they actually rang the
doorbell. I asked what they wanted &
they said, ‘Stop talking to Jews about that man.’ At that point Eddie brought out a Hebrew
testimony tape and played it for them, so they decided to leave. . . . We thank
the Lord for the privilege of working in His harvest field. Remember the children in your prayers,
please! Thank you for your faithfulness
and support in every way! God bless you! Follow us on Facebook!”
Lura writes, “We still need help with the house and the rent, etc. This place is being used as a Community Center and we are beginning to feel our age as we struggle to keep it up. Please pray for the volunteers to help and for our health.” If you would like to give to help this couple in blessing the Body and the people of Arad, look inside the attached Weekly Summary for contact and donation information.

Joel Jelski one of the Israeli ministers at
Succat Hallel 24/7 house of prayer in Jerusalem
also wrote about the national Day of remembrance for the Holocaust: “Today we
remember the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust. This day is special, but
also fueled with hatred. Israelis have been filled with hatred and self
reliance. The enemy is isolating Israel, and filling us with hate. We are told
that in the coming days, Israel (and believers alike) will experience
turbulence again as "the nations gather against Jerusalem". God
desires for us to stand in love and forgiveness, to the end. What will our
hearts look like before the father in that day? Pray for Israel to receive
revelation of God's love and forgiveness.”
He also notes, “Before
Israel was birthed, the enemy tried to stop it. Yeshua called them the birth
pangs.. In the coming days, we will experience the birth pangs once again as
God restores Israel a second time (spiritually), and will birth his kingdom on
earth.”
This is an honesty without condemnation. Is there not a cause for the Esther-like intercession in the Church and to also Ruth-like work alongside the laborers in the Lord’s harvest in Israel? This is what we bring this prayer summary each week to stimulate in the nations for the Israeli ministries. Joel shares more about the one new man vision God has been stirring in their hearts, and also asks payer for their kehila as it is in a time of changes – including moving locations in mid-summer.
The Arad
Hebrew congregation shared some great pictures this week including this one of
the facility where they celebrated Passover along with congregations from Be’er
Sheva, Mizpeh Ramon, Dimona and other places in the Negev. And isn’t this a lovely idea: “There was no charge for the seder. Each family was asked to bring enough food for themselves and a little extra so that ‘all who are hungry’ (from the Passover Haggadah) could come and eat. About two hundred people attended, including some who don’t yet know their Messiah. Please pray that the clear message that they heard will bear fruit in their lives and that they will come to salvation.”
The youth of the Arad Hebrew congregation are
a special focus of this congregation.
You can read more about what they are doing and their prayer requests
for the young people inside the attached Weekly Summary.
Howard Bass of the Beer Sheva congregation
shared some really wonderful ‘finds’.
The frist the website of Rick Wienecke, a Christian artist living
in Arad, who has done a remarkable exhibit depicting Yeshua's suffering and His
last words on the cross, and of Jewish Holocaust victims and survivors in their
reaction to their suffering. His “Fountain of Tears” sculptures of the
Holocaust will bless you.
Howard also shares another Holocaust-oriented photographic film project
by New Zealand artist, Perry Trotter. Perry's
motivation was to keep the memory and significance of this epic horror in the
public eye in a generation that is forgetting, and in which the young people do
not even know what they are not remembering. You can see more on his Shadows of Shoah site.
Ruth Nessim in Nahariya catches up after a
5-week tour in the USA visiting family, friends and speaking with many –
including her late sister’s grandson who has become a committed Muslim. She seeks prayers for the young man who she
told that he was a son of Israel and that the God of Israel loved. She also
gave him a copy of Mosab Hasan Yousef’s book, “Son of Hamas.”
In the spiritual search for something to fill
the emptiness in their souls, Jews have followed every type of false religious experience
and movement known to man – even Islamism, which is bent by the powers of hell
to destroy the Jews. Even as clearly murderous
as Islam is toward Jews, in rebellion some Jews walk down the path of deception
to embrace Islam. This is the grievous
state of many Jews who have been indoctrinated by religious tradition that a
Jew can explore any religious conviction but never may a Jew consider that
Yeshua (Jesus) – “that man” as unbelieving Jews refer to him. Until the blinders are removed and the Holy
Spirit dismantles the wall that has been erected between Jews and their
Messiah, no Jew can see Yeshua clearly.
This is where the international Church comes in: to pray for that
blindness to be removed and Messiah seen as who He really is – “that Son of Man”
and the Jewish Messiah.
Joseph Magen who aggregates publicly accessible material
from the Israeli Body of Believers shared this video testimony in the newsfeed from Kehila.org by Harvest of
Asher congregational leader Guy Cohen in Acco.

Praying the Headlines
This week we have a Palestinian daughter and a Palestinian son who went against everyone they hold dear in order to stand in the truth. Their influence cannot be truly measured. This is a clear call to pray for Palestinians to love the truth and follow it to the ultimate truth who is Yeshua/Jesus. Read the full story on IsraelWatcher where we also show how the Jerusalem Institute of Justice was instrumental in “breaking the story” of Christy in the Jewish press this week.
In addition to Christy’s story being
picked up by the major Jewish media organizations , we also see a connection to
Palestinian Christian Mosab Hassan Youseff:
When PA President Abbas claims Hamas will recognize
Israel, the founding spiritual leader of Hamas, Sheik Hassan Youseff says, Oh
no, Hamas will not!
Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the
tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli
believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:
- Brian Slater’s wife Racheli It appears Racheli may have to go back and do her hip surgery ALL OVER again, however this time being a full or partial hip replacement. We hope to have a more definite answer in the next week or two regarding IF another potential surgery OR not! Racheli still suffers terrible pain.
- Shlomy Abramov of AwakeIsrael asks prayer for his wife who went in for a surgery, there was a complication and she almost died. Shlomy writes this update: The doctors say it will be summer before Miriam is healed completely, 6 mo. In total. God supplied the finances for the nurses and what was needed to get her through. Praise to his name and thank you to those who prayed and helped us.
- Arni & Yonit Klein of Emmaus Way request prayers for staff in the U.S. (Becky and Keith) and in Germany (Hannah). We reported the extremely serious injuries of Keith and of Hannah months ago, now in caretaking Becky is also suffering physical strain and pain. Keith is beginning to be able to move both legs a bit, but Hannah is still in intense physical therapy with pain spreading. They would appreciate prayers.
- Four elder ministry leaders in Israel, are dealing with Parkinson’s which is a neurological syndrome. Since they have not shared this information, I will just ask for you to please pray for them each to be able to continue to live normal lives, and for the hand of the LORD to bless them with healing.
- Please pray for the wife of Ariel Ben David, who leads an Eilat Congregation, and also for his worship leader, both of whom were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Pray for Ami Ortiz for ongoing issues from the Purim 2008 bomb blast – all this time later there are still painful procedures, lack of recognition from the government of this terror victim status.
- Guy Cohen of Harvest of Asher asks for continued prayer for Marlene’s physical healing.
