YEAR END GIVING
Usually during the month of December we hear from ministries asking us to consider them for our ‘end of the year giving’.  This is because it is a last chance to make a charitable donation we can take off of our income tax.  Since I don’t have non-profit status, this benefit is not something I can hold out to subscribers.  However, I am going to ask subscribers who are able to make a donation to Israelprayer at this time simply as an expression of appreciation for the weekly summaries of Yeshua’s Body in Israel.  Thank you and may the LORD’s blessings and peace rest upon you as you continue to come in agreement with His plan for increasing salvation in Israel through Messiah’s Body in the Land.

Our Grandson Karl  |  Just to clarify one point on my praise report earlier this week about Karl, he is indeed a walking miracle of God but he is still not fully healed. We still covet your prayers.  About to turn 28 years old, Karl still can’t drive, his walking gait is still affected by the injuries and although he can carry on a conversation with anyone, his mind is not fully the young man we who know him would consider completely restored.  Despite all that, how far Karl has come back against all the odds is still a powerful testimony to the prayers of the saints for him. This is just to let you know that we still welcome your prayers for Karl’s full brain restoration to the glory of Yeshua. Thank you to all of you.

Priority Prayer Focus
Happy Hanukkah, Cupcakes!

No matter which holiday you are celebrating – though some of you are celebrating both – may the peace of Messiah Yeshua be upon you and may His joy fill up your hearts to the fullest.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are as a ‘shadow-picture’ of things to come; but the BODY is of Messiah. Col 2:16-17

We are so used to hearing that phrase "types and shadows" that we don't really catch the full flavor of this statement. The picture below is more like it, except that the shadow you see that the child is casting is from an evening sun. In the sense of Col 2:17, the shadow is as a morning sun - something that is coming, not going. So what we see in the holy days, sabbath days, etc., are like the shadow on the ground that a morning sun would cast of the coming BODY OF MESSIAH!

This is saying to me that all the things we find to religiously quibble over are about as flat as a shadow on the ground, truly nothing compared to the Body of Messiah that is coming together like this child running down the sidewalk.  Coming as Paul writes in Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Messiah. That is exciting to me

Contact information for all the ministries is included inside the Weekly Summary - which is by subscription only.

Inside the Weekly Summary, a touching Hanukkah story of how the Lord is moving in Yeshua’s Body in Israel today toward both Jew and Arab is told by Martin and Norma, in Jerusalem.  It is in the little testimonies of people willing to live in Yeshua’s love that is as powerful a sight as a burning bush in the strife torn Holy Land.  I hope you will read this Hanaukkah story and catch the vision of Messianic Israel whose heart is following after the heart of Messiah as touching both Jews and Arabs.

Transliterated Arabic Worship:  Anta malikuna (You are our King)/Sod aleina alan waltamla il macan bisakiben ajib min ruhika l'hhanan alan (Reign on us now and fill this place with a mighty outpouring with your tender spirit now) /Bikuwati ruhika elmis kulubana wahhtiyajatina eidan tarnimana alan (With the power of your Spirit touch our hearts, our needs and our worship now!)

From the Jerusalem ministry of Asher Intrater, this request for three Arab evangelists of Al Hayat TV which is broadcasting to the entire Muslim world – 30 million viewers per month; 100,000 viewer feedbacks.  This week Al Qaida published photos of Abu Ali, Rashid and Waheed – with their wives and children – and giving their addresses both home and offices, declaring that “someone should visit them and do what is necessary”!  Although these men confess no fear, please pray urgently for their protection and for the continued fruit of their evangelism.

Revive Israel also asks prayer for another Muslim background Bible teacher, Abu Atalla, who was just in Cairo during the demonstrations against Egypt’s president Morsi ,a Muslim Brotherhood leader attempting to turn Egypt into a sharia caliphate through a constitutional grab.  Revive asks, “Please pray for less bloodshed, for cancelling the new constitution, for righteous men to arise in the Egyptian government, and for the many people who are coming to faith now because of the insecurity and persecution of the present situation.”

From Haifa, the Arab church and Bible bookshop of Pastor Najeeb Atteih comes the report of their young people who gathered to pray for 3 days together over the war between Hamas and Israel.  The young people shed many tears as they asked God’s mercy on the people.  The congregation continues to pray for about 500 people whose names were submitted before the LORD during that prayer gathering.

Pastor Najeeb is a blessing, an Arab pastor who came alongside Ruth Nessim to help her keep the fellowship in Nahariya going after her husband passed into eternity a few years ago.  This is the heart of the LORD that Jew and Arab brothers in Messiah stand and walk together in genuine brotherhood.  This is also a struggling ministry – struggling in the sense of having those in the nations who would support the work where they are consistently reaching out, not shrinking back.  Pray for resolutions in their Nazareth kindergarten and for faithful financial supporters to come alongside.

From Mt Carmel, David Davis asks prayer for the children who were traumatized by the sirens and explosions in southern Israel during the Hamas war.  Pray also for the northern border as all eyes are on the potential for the Syrian civil war spilling into Israel.

Pray for the media ministry at the HaCarmel congregation which has undergone some personnel changes recently.  Israel, which is heavily internet-involved, is a perfect place for effective gospel via the web.  Their testimony videos are reaching 2 to 3,000 Israeli views per month.

In May, Mt Carmel is conducting a prophetic conference, “Restoring the Altar of the Lord” for believers of the nations.   More details inside the attached Weekly Summary.

Along with Ruth Nessim of the Light of Galilee congregation in Nahariya, let us thank God for gift provided by a friend of the ministry to allow them to purchase emergency war supplies that they can stockpile against the day of need – for distribution in their community.  Ruth writes of the recent war, “In some cases where missiles have been dropping, the town halls have asked the Messianic congregations if they would help with food distribution! We thank God even for this kind of recognition!”

The cooperation that we witness through the relationship between Ruth and Pastor Najeeb are really a testimony of Yeshua’s goodness.  Pray for these two precious ministries who serve each other, and with each other are touching lives in both Arab and Jewish communities.  “Everywhere they feet shall tread

From Eddie and Lura Beckford the fix up on their new home and ministry facility continues.  They have been hiring believers to do the work and now have a working heater and AC for the meeting room which is now being used by both the Russian and the Hebrew congregations in Arad.  They are thrilled to be able to provide a meeting place for the ministry of the Word.  The Beckford’s said they are thankful for the work team who came from the U.S. to help and they welcome other volunteers.

Calev Myers (who I am listening to live streaming right now from the Jerusalem Global Day of Prayer) reflects on the many accomplishments of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice over the past year.  This is a Messianic legal group that not only protects the religious freedoms of believers in Israel, but is also being instrumental in so many critical issues.

For those in the U.S., Calev is like Jay Sekulow, and JIJ is like the ACLJ – plus some.  For Israel is also defended by the JIJ – not only nationally but internationally. Please pray for this group of individuals. . . and look inside the attached Weekly Summary for the many impressive highlights of JIJ accomplishments in 2012.

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

Pray for God’s complete healing of Katya Morrison at Tents of Mercy (Acute Myeloid Leukemia);  Uzi, Meir, Bob, Fruma and Katya and Rivka (an elderly member suffering severe back problems)  at Maoz Ministries, Ariela in Dimona and Brookie in the Galilee.  Tom who has all been diagnosed with cancer in Carmel.  Pray also for Kay Wilson suffering from PTSD after surviving a stabbing terrorism attack that her friend did not survive, and in her quest to receive proper post-terrorism financial help from the Israeli government.  Continue to pray for baby Netaley who is still in need of prayers.

Praying the Headlines

From Barry & Batya Segal’s Jerusalem News Network reports that “Israel's prime minister brushed off international uproar over a planned new settlement project near Jerusalem, claiming Thursday that Israel will keep the area under any future peace deal. Israel's plans to build 3,000 new homes in the corridor east of Jerusalem triggered sharp criticism in Europe. . . . Continue to pray for PM Netanyahu and Israel’s government to stand strong against international disapproval of expansion where the Jewish state has every right to build.”

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Ps 34:8

Pray that many Israelis who are hungering and thirsting will step forward from the heart to taste and see that the LORD Yeshua is good, and blessed are all who trust in Him.  ‘Tis the season.

Arrows from Zion
Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Israel barely has a moment to catch its breath from the ceasefire in Gaza until all eyes are on Syria with reports that Assad is moving the chemical weapons – and by “moving” the analysts say they are talking about moving stash locations, but arming the chemicals into delivery systems.  International calls – those voices without follow through – are telling Syrian not to attempt to launch chemical warheads.

On August 2nd Rick Ridings at Succat Hallel issued a video prayer alert “How to Pray Concerning the Chemical Weapons Threat in Syria.”  This is a prayer strategy that has a biblical precedent, asking the LORD to shift the winds in order to protect His people, and innocent Syrians in the case that Assad does launch chemical weapon attacks. PLEASE TAKE THE handful of MIN TO WATCH THIS

From Beer Sheva we hear from the Howard and Randi Bass on the rockets that fell on their city, which a congregant experienced some damage from.  Randi writes the person there “is praying all the time” and the “neighbors have no idea that they are ‘guarded’ by such a praying person which brings down the heavenly guards.”

Randi also wrote that their son has just finished his IDF training and said “he's in a very tough unit for de-bombing houses and fields etc., and recognizing kitchens that serve as ‘bomb kitchens’ describing some of the terrorist tricks of the trade for IED’s to blow up such sites if authorities discovered it.  Talking to his mom about the high level pressure to de-bomb before fellow soldiers could enter areas, Randi described her own feelings:  “…as a parent to hear this... well the situation of war and people's predicament in it really hits hard.  You think as you nod sympathetically to your grown up son, "Oh, God, when is this going to be over?"

It’s over for now, but all Israelis know there is more life-threatening conflict just around the corner.  Pray that God will refresh and strengthen all those who have been in the thick of this conflict – whether the soldiers directly in the field, or those whose fields and homes have been rained on by rockets, or whether by the parents who have sent their young people off to fight ‘come what may’ threat against Israel.

Pray for the believers in Israel that the Spirit of the LORD will give them peace in the midst of the storms, and pray for the unbelievers in Israel that the storms will drive them to the shelter of the Most High in the arms of Prince of Peace, Yeshua.

Howard Bass, also responding to the focus last week on the deception forwarded by international diplomats and media about “proportional response” wrote to say that in the 2009 Gaza conflict he was “so annoyed in my spirit about the false notion of disproportionate force being used by Israel” that he was moved to write about it.  Israelprayer is offering excerpts of that writing based on biblical precedent inside the attached Weekly Summary – or read in full at their website "Still Living in The Days of The Bible – Part 1 – 4 Jan 2009 and Part 2 - 5 Jan 2009.  I like the biblical incidents that Bass points to here – surely there is nothing new under the sun, but that which has been will be again!

The Bass’ have several key prayer requests this week but I want to bring you one of strong importance:  Pray for the relationship of the congregation with the owners of the property which we have been using for the last 17 years, and nearly 50 years of working together for the sake of the Kingdom of God here in Beer Sheva and the surrounding area.

Pray for Christian organizations in Israel or that own properties in Israel to be given a vision by God of how He has positioned them strategically to have a part in helping the servants of Yeshua to fulfill their calling in Israel.  Even as the State of Israel was helped strategically by Gentiles friendly to their cause to help Jews at the modern re-formation of the State, so spiritual Israel must have the help of Gentiles who are friendly to the cause that “all Israel shall be saved.”  More will come alongside, but God has strategically pre-positioned some.  Some must yet receive the vision of that truth.

Asher Intrater writes about the rapture in Two Things from II Thessalonians Two
Joel Jelski writes about the 29th of November as a day of historic importance to the people of Israel: on that date in 1947, the UN voted to recognize Israel as a legitimate state. It is not a coincidence that 65 years later, the UN chose this date to recognize Palestine as a legitimate state. At the very same time, God was using us to release worship and intercession into the spiritual warfare happening on this day as 150 youth and young adults gathered in the heart of Jerusalem for a concentrated time of prayer, worship, and intercession.

Jelski writes, “We also felt strongly that our focus was to be on Matthew 23 and Jerusalem. One of the best parts was praying for revival and for God to pour out his spirit in the West Bank and Gaza. Although the enemy plans one thing, God has better things in mind. We believe we moved the heavens and touched God's heart today.”

Calev Myers, Jerusalem Institute of Justice, has a 4-minute video concerning the misuse of international donations by the Palestinian Authority. Click here.

Praise report from Lura and Eddie Beckford who had to appear in court over the Interior Ministry stringing Eddie’s citizenship out.  The judge ordered the the Interior Ministry to go immediately to their office next door and stamp Eddie’s passport for a permanent residence visa while the Ministry continues to investigate where they can revoke Lura’s citizenship.  Thank God for vindicating His servants!

Brian Slater, who is a Chosen People representative whose ministry in Netanya, Yeshua’s Fresh Bread in Israel, feeds the poor and needy, is helping to meet the needs of often desperate people in their area.  Inside the Weekly Summary you can read their praise reports and prayer requests – including the call for volunteers in their Home Visits project in cooperation with their local congregation, Beit Asaph.

Leon Mazin who leads the Return to Zion congregation in Haifa and Nazereth, sent several photos of the work going to the ready their new Haifa congregational facility.  They had volunteer workers in from Tennesee and Finland, and give us a first peek at the sanctuary-in-progress.  There is also a photo of one of the classroom sessions in their Haifa Theological Institute.  See inside the attached Weekly Summary.

The Ezagouri’s continue to work on all the requirements they need to fulfill on their new congregational facility for the Morning Star Fellowship including their bomb shelter and anti-fire requirements.  Please pray that their engineer will be able to find a solution to low neighborhood water pressure, and for every outstanding detail to be handled with God’s faithfulness.

Their worship leader Andrei started the worship sessions in the Galilee with other worshippers that is becoming a great blessing in the Galilee.  The worship evenings are well attended – including teenagers. The Ezagouri’s write: “Pray for God's inspiration and His anointing on the basic dance teaching that is supposed to start within a few days. We believe that dance and worship play an important role in our struggle against the principalities of darkness in the heavenly realms over our city.”

The ministry also points out another important statistic that has emerged recently:  A recent survey shows that the purchasing power of Israel has drifted lower and is likely to worsen compared to the other western nations. The gap between the rich and the poor is widening, salaries are low and prices high. This makes it very difficult for the lower and middle class. We saw more requests for financial aid from the believers this year. Please pray for God's provision for His children in the land.

One of those you have been praying for in our Urgent Prayer for Healing Section, Tom in Carmel (or his wife) wrote:  As many of you are preparing to celebrate the Lord's birth, many here in Israel are looking forward to Chanukah, which tells of the story of victory over apostasy and lawlessness. Even Yeshua honored this Feast as we see in John 10. Hebrews 11:33-38 includes the people involved in the Chanukah story in its list of the heroes of faith.  (See Tom’s health update in the attached Weekly Summary).

(Is the Lord speaking to us who celebrate Christmas, by the story of Hanukah being so closely situated date-wise?  Apostasy and lawlessness are both mentioned as the state of many in “the last days”.  Could it be that the story of the Macabees is to be a cautionary tale to the Gentile Christian Church and not just a historical event of the Jews from the Intertestamental period?)

The Tents of Mercy congregation is ecstatic to report Katya Morrison has been released from the hospital finally to return home.  The fight against Leukemia is a long one – not easy to beat in the natural. BUT GOD!  Pray for Katya to continue to recover from the bone marrow transplant and that God will hover over her with healing in His wings, healing to the uttermost.

The annual Katsir Messianic teen camp is about to get underway in the Galilee for 14 to 18 years olds.  Pray for all involved and that the Spirit of the LORD would work mightily in all.

The Maoz Ministry is in the midst of presenting another EQUIP conference for spiritual leaders all over Israel.  We heard a first-hand report from Shlomy and Miriam Abramov (Awake Israel) who were in Texas last week that the EQUIP meetings have been a great blessing to them.

Maoz also shares the video story of Yoav who was a recipient of funds from the ISTANDWITHISRAEL donations in setting up his carpentry workshop at the Yad HaShmona moshav (the only Messianic community in Israel).   You can watch Yoav’s story here.  The businesses of Israeli believers help to anchor the Messianic Body even deeper into the soil of Israel.  When believers have businesses, they are also able to bless the local ministries.  These are great – some of the best - investments to make in the Land and people of Israel.

Speaking of businesses, we have a short report inside the Weekly Summary from the Desert Farm Family who still have some investment openings in their agricultural business.  Even though there have been a lot of challenges to overcome, we believe along with them that God desires this business to thrive and prosper and to be a blessing and testimony of Messianic believers in Israel.  Open the attached Weekly Summary to learn more.

Tents of Victory, the humanitarian aid led by Messianic believer Ye’shi Reinhardt, operates year round from Sderot.  The reason they located the ministry there was in order to help the shell shocked residents who have been experiencing rockets from Gaza for several years.  Hands of Mercy is the original humanitarian aid group that Ye’shi has to minister to terror victims and soldiers.  Once again, these ministries have their hands full.  Pray for them, and for God’s provisions for their work.

Last week we conveyed the prayer request from Evan Levine for his wife, Elisa who was about to undergo tests to determine if a 6-month leg pain was cancer.  They have the test back and are relieved to report the tests were negative for cancer.  Now the doctors just have to determine what it is.  Please continue to pray for Elisa Glasser Levine, and also that God would continue to bless the HaTikva project which specifically helps the believers in Israel in specific needs.  You can find their ministry link inside the attached Weekly Summary.

Yom Kippur, 5773
 The Day of Atonement 2012
“Now on the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be for you a time of holy convocation, and you shall afflict yourselves and present a food offering to the Lord. And you shall not do any work on that very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.”
Leviticus 23:27-28

And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.

But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with Him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

Leviticus 16:9-10

Leviticus 16 has long been a scripture passage that grabbed me like seeing a burning bush! I have always seen that scapegoat as Israel - making an atonement with Yeshua - part of the cost of being the Chosen People, set aside until the season God planned to bring them in through the Sacrifice made once for all. Pray that Israel, the Jewish people in all the world, upon whom the lot of the scapegoat fell, would now at long last become at-one with the LORD through the atonement of Yeshua.

Priority Prayer Focus
The Ferguson’s of Yeshua Israel wrote:  Tomorrow is the eve of Yom Kippur. Where the nation as a whole shuts down everything and takes the day to fast food and water, pray and repent for their sins. Tomorrow, together, Jews turn their eyes to heaven. It's my favorite day of the year where the spiritual air is as light as it gets.  It's the only day you can hear the ocean several blocks from the beach because no cars are on the road.  As believers we fast not for our own atonement but redemption for our whole nation.”

It is interesting that it is so discernible that the spiritual air is clearest in Israel on Yom Kippur.  What that spoke to me is that the spiritual opposition to the revealing of Yeshua is at its lowest  on this day - a day when the cloud of deception is temporarily parted.  This is a day to take advantage of the clear air.

It reminded me of Luke 3:4 when Yeshua quoted from Isaiah 57:14 "And it shall be said, "Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people's way."

Also this Sunday, 2 million+Jews of all affiliations and from all over the world prayed in unity for revealing of the Messiah.  The prayer: "Master of the Universe, We, the children of Israel, ask you for Mashiach to redeem us, now and with mercy, from exile and all suffering, to reveal your Name in the world and to bring peace."

May He answer their prayer, revealing Yeshua, Israel’s Hope.

In the Ten Days of Awe from the day of the trumpet blast, Yom Teruah (also known as the Jewish New Year/Rosh Hashana) to Yom Kippur, a day of fasting and atonement of sins, we are called to search our hearts and examine ourselves thoroughly.  This is a time frame that we are to deal with issues of unforgiveness and to right our relationships with each other and God.  While the biblical Feasts of the LORD specifically prophetic of God’s dealings with Israel, this is also a good annual reminder for all believers of the importance of having a clear conscience before God.

Over the past several days we have learned of a couple of unprecedented (as far as we are aware) things taking place.  The first was the prayer of over 2 million Jews this past Sunday to God that He would reveal the Messiah to them.  The second is a group of 70 atheists and agnostics from around the world who are praying for 40 days for God to reveal Himself to them.  In the Jewish tradition, it is noteworthy that there were 70 original nations after the flood.  Neither of these groups are expecting God to reveal Yeshua to them, but both are prayers that we fully expect God to answer.  Surely these are prophetic signposts that we should take note of and pray in agreement with the revelation of Messiah Yeshua both among the Jewish people and among the nations.

Let us join into the prayer of agreement with our Israeli brothers and sisters in Yeshua who will be fasting and praying from this evening at sundown to tomorrow at sundown for Yom Kippur.  While traditional Jews are seeking to secure their name in the book of life for another year, the Messianic Jews are praying in intercession for prophesied salvation of “all Israel.”  Let’s enter into the power of agreement as touching this petition before God’s throne.

Pray for Shlomoh Intrater and his five companions from the young adults of Revive Israel who are in Poland participating in a nationwide young adults conference on evangelism and personal prayer.  Solomon asks, “Stand with us in prayer for the Polish nation to experience the love of God and freedom in Messiah!”

Co-elder in the Ahavat Yeshua congregation with Asher Intrater is Eddie Santoro who writes that after Yom Kippur, “Many of us will be inviting unbelieving family members and friends to come and share a meal in our Succoth, so PLEASE pray for open hearts and much fruit.”  This is true throughout the congregations of Israel.

Leon Mazin writes of the discover this week about the new facility they have purchased for the Haifa congregation, that it was formerly the Haifa Magistrate Court where criminal sentences had been handed down.  Mazin  is delighted that what was a “House of Judgment” is now becoming a “House of Grace” in the Messiah.

The congregation has an immense task of remodeling work ahead of them.  Pray with them for a good response in volunteer carpenters and painters (good short term missions opportunity!) and a smooth transition from the old facility to the new.

Like many of the Israeli Messianic ministries, immediately after Yom Kippur they will begin to deliver humanitarian aid in the form of Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles food packages to low income families and individuals.  This is a wonderful time to help Messianic congregations be the beautiful feet of Messiah on the mountains of Israel – bringing blessing to their communities.  To donate to the Haifa congregation or any other the Messianic food distribution drives for the holidays, open the attached Weekly Summary for contact information.

Evan Levine of the HaTikva Project PK-Israel  has returned to Israel after 6-weeks of fund raising in the U.S.  He notes the “stark contrast” between “the abundance, security, and ease of life in America” and the “rise in tension on all of Israel’s borders, an “eve of war” feeling has begun to grip the country.”  Evan relates how they set about to prepare their 2-yr old son for seeing Mommy and Daddy in gas masks to lessen what could be a traumatizing shock in the case of war.  Pray for the little children of Israel. The enemy seeks to take their lives before they can know Yeshua, and those that cannot be killed, the enemy would like to mar with psychological damage.  Pray, No weapon formed against them shall prosper!

We cannot write enough about how tight things are for the ministries in Israel – especially those smaller ministries without a big name.  There has never been a time when help of the Israel-loving Church has been more needed for this faithful ministries both the Messianic Jewish and the Christian Arab.  Of the latter we have received word that Pastor Hani in Acco, after an extended time of seeking the Lord, has stepped down as pastor of the Evangelical Baptist Church of Acco.  He will continue to pastor the Evangelical Baptist Center in Beqea and will also be seeking other employment for the support of his family.  PLEASE – pray for these faithful pastors.  They have to have support to live.

Eddie Santoro has written another great perspective on the times of warfare in which we live.  We urge you to open the attached Weekly Summary to be informed and encouraged on the specific points that Israel needs prayer for in the geo-political sense.  Some of the key prayer points:

“Above all, pray that Iran would be stopped and that war would be averted. Pray for the leaders of Iran to be deposed supernaturally which would lead to revival in Iran. Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu in this critical time of unimaginable pressure and that all of Israel's leaders would receive wisdom and strategy from heaven. Pray that if Israel attacks Iran, it will be completely successful. Pray for divine intervention which will eliminate or limit the response of the many enemies which surround Israel. Pray that the US will pass this test and stand as a staunch ally to Israel.”

On the Arab Winter that has followed the so-called Arab Spring, Santoro writes:  Please pray against the powers of Islamic Jihad throughout the earth. Pray for the many Christians that live in these evolving Islamic republics. They are being murdered, their churches are being burned and many are fleeing for their lives. Pray that the suffering of so many would become fertile soil for the planting of the Gospel in many places throughout the Islamic and Jewish world.

Shlomy and Miriam Abramov write that they were able to take 40 unsaved Jews to a Rosh Hashanah event and are praising God for opening amazing ministry doors to them as they continue to reach out to the needy with humanitarian aid.  Shlomy’s testimony will soon be coming out in the Hebrew and should be of great interest to many to learn of his past as a bodyguard for Ariel Sharon to a minister of the good news of Yeshua.  Pray for their ministry trip to the U.S. in the fall to be an effective outreach.

David Silver of Out of Zion Ministries writes this week about how in Yeshua, every day can be Yom Kippur, the access to forgiveness of our sins that keeps us walking clean before God.  You can read Silver’s reflections inside the Weekly Summary.  Let it be a reminder to us not only to seek forgiveness for our ongoing areas of need, but also to pray for the Jewish people to discover the wonderful truth behind Yom Kippur, the day of at-one-ment in Yeshua’s salvation.

The Desert Farm Family writes of the ongoing struggle to make all ends meet. Unforeseen problems with “rotten” deals are continuing to cause difficulties for lots of Israeli farmers.  Please pray in agreement with them that God will continue to arise on their behalf and make a way where there seems to be no way.  As the wife of a self-employed business man, my heart truly goes out to this family struggling to establish their business solidly.  If it were not for God, our feet would have already slipped. Thank God that He is our source and we are safe putting trust in Him.  Read more specific ways to intercede for them inside the attached Weekly Summary.

The Acco congregation led by Guy Cohen are asking for prayers over their home groups that will begin to meet again on October 16th.  Please continue to pray for the leaders and for unity among all who will be attending the various groups.

Cohen also notes that the annual Torah reading cycle ends and begins anew on October 8th when they will meet for a morning service celebrating Simchat Torah – Rejoicing in the Torah.  Pray as the new reading of Genesis begins, that God will begin to drop the veil that is over many Jewish eyes, that they may have eyes to see Yeshua and ears to hear the gospel, the Good News.

Tom, Nataly and Larissa who have all been diagnosed with cancer in Carmel.  Pray also for Kay Wilson suffering from PTSD after surviving a stabbing terrorism attack that her friend did not survive, and in her quest to receive proper post-terrorism financial help from the Israeli government.  Continue to pray for baby Netaley who is still in need of prayers.
