God is always doing things that we cannot imagine because we don’t think like Him and we don’t see people like He does.  We have our own little corner of life and cannot imagine what He sees when He looks down over all His creation that He is moving to a determined purpose. Whatever glimpses of His vision that He shares with us is a gift – a wonderful and heart-filling treasure from Heaven that will enlarge our capacity to love.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!  Romans 11:33

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

The hearing for Jack Teitel which was to be held Tuesday was postponed until late May.  We have no explanation to pass along at this writing, but know that we should seize the opportunity to raise MUCH MORE INTERCESSION about this critical case.

If the court accepts the plea bargain which would drop the charges of terror bombing of a Messianic family in order to obtain an admission of guilt for murdering two Arabs – this would leave the door open to Teitel’s lawyers potentially arguing mental illness.  Without Ami’s case – which was clearly a conspiracy not a lone wolf act – Teitel would have to serve hard time and the religious anti-missionary activists would be a great political embarrassment to Israel.  Pray for Israel to do what is right and not what seems to be politically expedient.

Between Purim and Passover MUCH headline making news concerning Israel has been taking place and all the Israeli ministries are tremendously aware that it is not a matter of if but only when the next dramatic run of violence will erupt in their backyards.  Most are preparing to be a resource to their communities in both a practical and spiritual sense for the next outbreak.

Several of those ministries, like Brian S providing food for the needy in Netanya, and Guy C, who pastors a congregation in Akko and is actively storehousing for the coming conflicts, give reports inside the Weekly Summary.  These are among many who could use your help, both prayer support and material support to minister in the name of Yeshua.

Asher Intrater writes of the terror attack in Toulouse, France and the moral equivalence of an EU Minister who equated the attack with children in Gaza who die in Israeli surgical strikes because Palestinian terrorists use the children as human shields.  This faulty equating has been a standard operational strategy of lying used by world government leaders and media for decades.  Pray for spiritual eyes to open to how much propaganda is involved in the course of our nightly news.

Pray also for the deceived of the nations who cover for and harbor Islamist terrorists to recover their senses before it is too late.  As Asher wrote the Israeli proverb is true: "He who raises snakes in his backyard will one day be bitten in his living room."

You probably did not hear this one on your news report.  Asher also wrote of the al Qaida murder of a 29-yr old American Christian, Joel Shrum who was a teacher in Taiz, Yemen.  Last Tuesday
moderate Muslims turned out by the hundreds to demonstrate against Shrum's murder. They carried signs saying, "We love you Joel" and "Stop Terrorism." Let us agree with them in prayer. More Arabs are victims of Islamic terrorism than any other people group. For a fuller report on Shrum's murder and video coverage, click http://www.worldmag.com/webextra/19326

The pastor of the Hamaayan congregation in Kfar Saba shares a tender heart of concern for the people in Syria who are being brutally massacred by the Assad regime who are trying to hang onto power.  Even in light of the threat from the hostilities that surrounds Israel, it is always a blessing to hear the care of Israeli Messianic leaders who take the Arab people to heart and ask prayer for their salvation and safety.  We can whole heartedly join in those prayers.

Avi Mizrachi in Tel Aviv calls for the Esther’s to call out and not remain silent at this time.  “With the recent missile fire from Gaza and the escalation with Iran, I truly believe that this same understanding of time is what the Lord is emphasizing today. It is important for us to know the season that we are in and to seek God for what He is doing at this time.”

A recently married couple at Beit Immanuel in Jaffa returned from a ministry trip in Turkey where they met with ex-Muslim Christians from around the Middle East.  They heard of the struggles of the believers in Arab countries and found “committed and compassionate Christians” who received God’s word from the Jewish people and those willing to stand up with the Jewish nation.  Pray for these courageous believers.

Passover preparations are well underway in most of the Israeli Messianic congregations – from distribution of food outreaches to the communities to the congregational Passover seders.  Passover begins Friday evening, April 6th.  Many Christians from the nations will be in Israel and this is always a season that is packed with activity.  Pray for God to touch hearts – to draw in family, friends and neighbors who have not yet given their lives to Yeshua – that God will reveal His Son in the Passover in a mighty way.

There will be much intercession from the nations in Israel at this time.  One gathering of intercessors from Australia will join with Howard Bass in Beer Sheva to focused prayer for the believers in the Negev, and also for the borders of Egypt, Gaza, the Palestinian Authority territories, and Jordan.

Howard Bass reports that a donation was given to the aid of believers in Gaza after his appeal a few weeks ago during the Gaza missile attacks.  A Palestinian pastor communicated:  “The money was given to the elders of the Gaza Baptist church in your church name and it was made clear to them that this gift is from Messianic Jewish believers, they were surprised but appreciated it so much and were really blessed., the money went to help believers in need. I already know a family who received 500 nis, he called to thank us and he is said the money came timely specially that his work is not doing well over there."

Bass also reports that the SAYF (Sitting at Yeshua’s Feet), a semi-annual prayer retreat for the Messianic Jewish and Christian Arab ministry leaders, “provided wonderful times of sweet fellowship, and excellent opportunities for brothers to speak privately with others”. Following on the heels of the Christ at the Checkpoint conference, there was concern for strained personal relationship, but Bass writes, “We praise the Lord for being in the midst of us, and His love stronger than personal rightness.”

The Netanya soup kitchen has lost its volunteer cook.  Pray for a replacement and for many other growing needs and expenses of this work.

We were happy to see the picture of the “miracle baby” dedication of our friend, Racheli and her husband Alberto as the pastor in Kfar Saba laid hands on the infant dedicating him to the LORD,  Thank God for answered prayers of the women who are believers in Israel.  Speak blessings to these whose work, like God’s, is often under the radar, raising children and providing safe havens for their husbands and families.

The pastor reports that their congregation in Kfar Saba is growing physically and spiritually and they are about of space.   Pastor Guy in Akko is another with needs for building expansion. Pray for all of the ministries with expansion needs.  Also for those with new personal housing needs.

A Sign & A Wonder ministers to orphans, widows and single parents in the Israeli Body, held a ministry time last weekend with widows and single women in the desert.  We have already heard through the grapevine that the LORD really met with them in the desert.  You can read more about this ministry inside the Weekly Summary.

Thank God for all the rain Israel has had in the last three months!  The main water supply, the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) has risen over 6 feet – and yesterday on Facebook – a delighted Carolyn in the Galilee reported they were getting hail, then shortly after snow!  Unheard of!  What a blessing.

The congregation in Akko led by a young man who was born and raised in the northern port town, has set their light brightly upon the hill.  These guys are not hiding away in a dark corner after installing a neon sign that clearly identifies them to their community.  Pray the LORD will draw men, women and children to Yeshua in this place and bless the courage of Pastor Guy whose heart is for his city.

There are Israeli evangelists out on the streets, like Zev, planting the seed of the good news to those that are hungry.  Pray for these who are also often targeted by anti-missionaries. Pray for their finances as well.

Negev minister Eduardo S shared of his recent ministry trip to Milan, Italy and Madrid, Spain.  Pray for the Israelis who are going out into the nations to speak to the churches and to preach the Word of God.  It is always a mixed bag among the churches – those that are encouraged to hear what God is doing among the people of Israel and those that couldn’t be more unconcerned.  But it is a wonderful work that God is doing – a testament to the God-kind of faithfulness.

Pray for those ministers – we have heard of a few new outreaches – going into Israeli jails to minister to prisoners.  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27
All of those who are without Yeshua are “Fatherless” in the truest sense.

Urgent Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

Pray for God’s complete healing of Meir, Bob, Fruma and Katya and Rivka (an elderly member suffering severe back problems)  at Maoz Ministries, Sofie Benson in Carmel/House of Victory, Ariela in Arad and Brookie in the Galilee.  Tom, Nataly and Larissa who have all recently been diagnosed with cancer in Carmel.  Pray also for Kay Wilson suffering from PTSD after surviving a stabbing terrorism attack that her friend did not survive.

Praise report for the little baby, Netaley Bakker, who underwent an operation to remove a brain tumor last week.  Despite a heart-wrenching roller coaster all week as Netaley came out of the operation and doctors worked to stabilize her, the news has come back that the removed tumor was benign!  For the first time all week there were smiles all around, even from little Netaley who has really endured an exhausting struggle for life over the past week.  Thank God for all those who prayed, and we ask that you keep praying for this little girl as she continues to recuperate from an intense battle for life.

As of Wed 3/28: The first thing the doc said this morning was that Netaley is looking really good today, much more alert and doing well in general….She's still not moving much of her right side. The ct scan showed some darker than usual tissue on the left side of her brain which explains this lack of movement and feeling on the right. They are still not doing anything about that, but another MRI will be happening at some point to get more information. They just want to wait a bit longer with having to put her under yet another full anasthetic.  Please keep up your prayers.

Tom in Carmel has learned from a PET scan on 3/20 that the melanoma cancer has not spread and is still contained in the lymph nodes.  Instead of surgery and radiation, Tom and his wife have decided to get alternative treatment at the Oasis Cancer Center in Mexico which could even be followed without having to leave Israel.  They are trusting God who is our Healer and appreciate your prayers.

Praying the Headlines

Pray for Israel’s borders.  This is a continuing prayer concern over the past several weeks, not only from the hostility of neighboring countries but also from the call that has gone out for the second year in a row to a civilian run to breach Israel’s borders on all sides.  This is set for March 30

Last week a Russian commando unit arrived in Syria.  This week it was announced that right after Vladimir Putin is sworn into office, he will go to Israel, followed by a trip to the United States.  These are dangerous times. Pray for Israel’s leaders to be alert to sudden friendships that could easily be a ruse.

Also last weekend it was announced that the Egyptian government arrested two Egyptians planning to attack an Israeli ship in the Suez Canal – at the bidding of Tehran.  The Iranian government has encouraged its operatives to attack Israeli interests wherever possible in the world.  Pray for God to reveal the prayer strategies for his will concerning the Israel-Iran situation.

Priority Prayer Focus

Despite the seeming silence from within the Israeli spiritual leadership on the controversial Christ at the Checkpoint, rest assured the issues are being debated vigorously between the leaders behind the scenes.

Please pray for these leaders, and for the Christian Arab leaders who starting today are meeting together for the SAYF – Sitting at Yeshua’s Feet – prayer retreat.  Pray that on the heels of a controversy that is being hotly referenced around the world, Yeshua will meet with those gathered to sit at HIS feet to hear from His heart.

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

URGENT PRAYER NEED for baby Netaley Bakker in Israel whose doctors operated to remove a brain tumor last week. As of this writing on Wed 3/21NETALEY is back in ICU for a procedure where they want to put back in the access point for fluids back. During the preparations she seems to have gone in a state where she doesn't look at anybody any more and is whining. She is now also drooling a bit. Please pray for her brain to be healed and also for her trust in the people around her to be restored. And of course anything else the Holy Spirit leads you to pray for. -Klass, Netaley's dad

Please pray for the Israeli Messianic leaders, and for the Christian Arab leaders who starting today are meeting together for the SAYF – Sitting at Yeshua’s Feet – prayer retreat.  Pray that on the heels of a controversy that is being hotly referenced around the world, Yeshua will meet with those gathered to sit at HIS feet to hear from His heart.

Pray that Messianic and Christian leaders outside of Israel will grant due deference to the spiritual leaders within Israel who are engaged in vigorous dialogue over the CatC conference. Pray also that those inside Israel will remember the ripple effects of these issues throughout the worldwide Body – remembering the saying that “nature abhors a vacuum.”

Pray for those who are wading into the channels of communication that were opened between leaders holding opposing viewpoints of the issues covered in the CatC 2012 conference.  Pray that there will be real, godly change as a result of the interactions that are going on among many.  Some think that we should not go across the aisle to seek dialogue; others believe we can ignore ‘non-spiritual’ issues completely in a superficial measure of unity. Pray that the Holy Spirit would speak to all of us on how to position ourselves to be on HIS SIDE of this controversy.

Psalm 122:6 tells us to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” – or does it?!  An Israeli ministry to widows and orphans shares that the more accurate translation is, “Ask how Jerusalem is doing.”  In this teaching article, we are challenged to inquire about how the people of Israel are doing, not just the political state.  “For their sake” – the house of the LORD in Israel – I will pray for your peace, Jerusalem.

“With Purim behind us and Passover laying ahead,” writes Leon Mazin with congregations in Haifa and Nazareth, Israeli ministries continue to hum along with the usual activities even as Israel stands like Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego in a fiery furnace that just seems to go on and on!  Mazin’s congregation is among many who are preparing to bless the needy of their communities with grocery baskets or food vouchers for Passover meals.  Most of the congregations will be providing Passover food stuff to the needy, so please pray about helping them for this important outreach in the name of Yeshua.

The Sorko-Ram’s have chosen again this year to go to the poverty stricken town of Kiryat Gat to supply holiday food for those who have been under a massive barrage of rocket fire from Gaza, and consequently have not been able to work to earn for life necessities as a result.  The Jerusalem Institute of Justice will also be supplying Passover food distribution throughout Israel to underprivileged families.   If you give, please give so Yeshua’s spiritual family are the ones knocking on the door with provisions.

The Tents of Mercy congregations in the north are reporting that their Baruch Haba Conference “couldn’t have taken place in a more poignant time:  While the southern cities of Israel were bombarded by rockets from Gaza, a mighty army of international intercessors were praying” in Israel.  It is always a blessing that so many Christians are not afraid to continue with plans to go to Israel even in the midst of violence outbreaks.  As the praise and worshippers led the armies of God in days of old, so the intercessors may go singing the songs of Zion in assurance.

Last week we shared the developments in the court case against Jack Teitel, where it appears the prosecution is allowing the charges related to the terror bombing of Ami Ortiz to be dropped to secure a plea bargain where Teitel pleads guilty as charged “with the murder of two Palestinians and a line of nationalistically-motivated battery counts.”  Teitel’s lawyers will then attempt to argue that their client is not responsible for his actions based on mental incapacity.

At a February 2011 hearing on Teitel’s mental stability, Ami Ortiz sees Teitel for the first time being led to the court room.  In the second photo, Teitel locks a malevolent stare onto a Maoz video producer who accompanied the Ortiz family to the hearing with a cameraman in order to report on the hearing.  Notice that as he first approaches, Teitel is showing his trademark hand signal - V for Victory.

This is a true travesty of justice seeing how Teitel confessed to working with Yad L’Achim in the Purim terror bombing of the Ortiz home and video surveillance proves Teitel was working with others in planting the bomb.  It is hard to claim insanity when conspiracy to commit murder is involved.  No wonder they want to drop the charges related to Ami Ortiz.  But if the Israeli prosecutors and courts find this is an acceptable course – whether for convenience or for a cover up of religious persecution of believers – it is in no way acceptable.  PLEASE be in prayer for the hearing on this plea bargain which will take place next Tuesday, March 27th.  In the case it becomes necessary, Messianic attorneys are preparing an appeal.  If justice is denied in this case, the whole Jewish believing community in Israel will be in great risk from murder attempts by the religious.

Ami is currently enjoying his first year in an American Bible-based college where he has been accepted on the basketball team – his great passion in life.

The Jerusalem Institute of Justice has been instrumental in forwarding an anti-prostitution bill through the Israeli parliament.  They ask for intercessors and those that can give financially to support their efforts to continue to stand with them to eliminate human trafficking and prostitution in the State of Israel.  Inside the Weekly Summary are reports of other issues these Messianic lawyers are pursuing.

Engaging people on the streets at the leading of the Holy Spirit, a street evangelist named Zev shares his encounters with Israelis from every walk of life in the prayer letters he issues.  Reading his encounter recently with an Orthodox man verbal abusing his wife, as the interaction was described it reminded me of the account of Philip in Acts 8.  You can read Zev’s account inside the Weekly Summary.

Mazal tov to Uzi Lotan who has been ordained as an elder in the Kfar Saba congregation led by Tony Sperandeo.  Uzi is one of several Israeli ministers who are currently working on books. Pray for each of them to complete their writing and all that goes along with the publication.

WEEKLY ArrowsFromZion Mar 14 2012

Serving the Body of Messiah in Israel since August 2001
Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel
ARROWS PRAYER POINTS FOR PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION

May be copied for use in Prayer Gatherings

When I started Israelprayer in August of 2001 I determined from the beginning that I was not going to be open to only the Israeli ministries that my home Messianic congregation partnered with, or those that held the same views about things that I do – not even eschatology!  Instead I determined to gather prayer letters from every indigenous Israeli ministry that I could make contact with and give them all consideration (unless they just expressed biblical error so deep that I could not in good conscience pass along!)

I am really glad I did that because before as I looked over the Christian ministries sharing information about the Israeli Body of Messiah, mostly what I saw was people staying completely within their own stream of the faith – preaching to the choir from the choir.  What Israelprayer has done over the past decade of weekly mailings is listen to all the voices within the Messianic community and giving ear to all the various concerns, the differing positions and viewpoints.

In the journalistic world this is what gives reporters the ability to really serve the public instead of what we see today where reporters only report the things that support what they already believe to be the truth. The truth is a resilient thing. It will find its way to the top of the pile when all the viewpoints are covered.

Today, as I am editing together the weekly Israelprayer which deals heavily with the still swirling controversy of the Christ at the Checkpoint conference, I am glad for the determination to listen to all the voices. The only way to get to the truth is to be open to listen to all the voices. The truth is not the loudest voice but it always manages to stand out in the cacophony anyway. – Donna Diorio

Priority Prayer Focus

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance....Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:25, 27

Pray for a spirit of true peace and seeking the will of God to prevail over all the believers.

Arrows from Zion
Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

As of today March 14th after 200 missiles were fired from Gaza into Israel, there is a ceasefire that appears to be holding.  Pray this ceasefire will continue – although few expect the ceasefire to hold.  The Top IDF General calls the ceasefire “fragile” while the Prime Minister is vowing that ‘Terror base in Gaza will be ripped out.’  See Gaza War Focus Inside the attached Weekly Summary

Also in Weekly Summary are several prayer requests and also reports from the Israeli ministries concerning this current battle front with Gaza, as well as the other fronts seriously concerning Israel at this time.  There are also opportunities for lovers of Israel to connect with Israeli ministries preparing for the war season that is so obviously breathing down Israel’s neck.  There are opportunities for believers to connect with the believers in the Land who are stockpiling provisions for their communities, providing gas masks for children, doing humanitarian aid work among war and terror victims.  Before you donate to the unsaved rabbi, please ask God if HE would prefer you bless Israel through the Israeli Body of Messiah instead.

The Christ at the Checkpoint conference continues to be a major controversy in the Messianic world and in the Israeli Messianic community.  Israelprayer is following the various statements and offers several of those in the attached Weekly Summary.  Please be aware that there is strong opposition to the Messianic participation in the conference, but as a result wrong information and wrong understandings have been forwarded by those who did not attend the conference.

We encourage subscribers to open the Weekly Summary and review the statements made by those in attendance who not only saw with their own eyes what was said from the podium, but also participated in much behind the scenes private conversations with key leaders of influence.   Those who were involved in engaging the Christ at the Checkpoint are godly, discerning and respected members of the Messianic Body.  Let’s keep open to what God may be doing at this entry point to real dialogue.

Inside on the Christ at the Checkpoint issues we have:
       -      Brief Response to “Christ at the Checkpoint” from Messianic participants
-          The Christ at the Checkpoint Manifesto
-          Evan Thomas' personal review of the conference
-          Clearing up an erroneous report about the closure of the Bethlehem Baptist Church/Pastor Khoury
-          Howard Bass who left the Musalaha board in 2008 shares a few thoughts about the conference and encourages us to pray for two upcoming events that will put Israeli Messianic and Christian Arabs together again hot on the heels of this ongoing controversy.
o    The first is the Musalaha Women's Conference:  Please pray that these women will be used of God to find His way in dealing with the conflict here in truth, just as the men must, and with the live issues of the CATC conference and the rocket attacks on southern Israel.
o    The second is the SAYF (Sitting At Yeshua's Feet)  Next week, March 21-23, once again leaders from around Israel will gather together at Sde Boker in the Negev.  These will include Jewish, Arab, and other leaders and younger men who are active in some measure of a leadership capacity.  It is interesting that this prayer retreat (no set agenda) follows on the heels of the CATC conference, and includes some of the organizers and speakers.  Sitting at Yeshua's Feet is supposed to be a safe place to come together under His loving authority and inclusion of all who would come to Him.  Please pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us and to accomplish the Lord's will among us at this critical time.
-          An excerpt from Daniel Juster an attendee of the  Christ at the Checkpoint conference

As one who attended the CatC conference as an observer in 2010 and in 2012 said privately, the Messianic presence was more than just a manipulative “fig leaf” for the conference.  Several attendees noted that there was “significant” impact registered in a group of powerfully influential Christians who have long held a less than charitable view of Israel.  Zechariah 4:10 says, For who has despised the day of small beginnings? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth."

Let’s position ourselves to pray for God’s best to come out of this conference.  Many are fearful that to let down our full-throated opposition to the views that have dominated the views of many of the speakers of this conference means that we are relinquishing ground to Israel’s right to exist in the Land.  This is an opportunity to eradicate distortions on all sides.  Let’s pray that the LORD will anoint those given to that end this window of opportunity to make a difference in many hearts and minds.

Revive Israel thanked all those who joined in with the Israeli Messianic family in the Esther Fast last Wednesday.  They noted that among their gathered group there seemed to be a special emphasis in the Spirit in praying for Arabs, evangelism among the Muslims, and for the nations of the earth.

From Akko is a report of one who attended a believers conference in Turkey for Israeli Messianics and believers from the surrounding Arab nations.  They heard reports of how God is moving with salvations even among the Taliban in Afghanistan.  We rarely get to hear of these reports because God works under the radar.  Please be in prayer for the Arab nations which scripture is clear on will be among those who come to faith before the end.

For those who are not receiving the DAILY Arrow from Zion, you have missed the immediate notice of a bomb scare the Ortiz family suffered last week during Purim when the bomb squad arrived to remove the family from the residence via a window while the bomb team dealt with the unidentified package at their home.  Whether an uncanny mistake (not likely) or someone’s idea of a sick joke, this was a terrorizing incident.  We also heard from others of harassing pranks on Purim, including what may have been an attempted home invasion by the ultra-Orthodox on the Beckford’s in Arad.  Pray for all of the believers in Israel to be alert and for the “angelic dome” of the LORD to be over them all.

Messiah’s Mandate head Ron Cantor writes eloquently about the financial challenges of a ministry in Israel.  Whether an immigrant or a sabra, whether Messianic Jew or Arab Christian – the life for believers ministering in Israel is often ‘threadbare’.  Please consider before the LORD how to best invest your blessings to Israel.  Many are giving to good projects and many are giving to TERRIBLE ones that actually fund persecution, but those who give into the needs of the Israeli ministries are making an eternal investment.  The good, the bad & the Divine.

Again from Akko we heard a plea for the Humanitarian Aid needed for distribution to needy families in upcoming Passover meals.  Not only is there need for outreach in the community, but there is also much need for families within the Messianic congregation.  Pray about how and whom to help.

Pray for the ministry to widows and broken women that is going forth in Israel.  A weekend event on Mar 23-24 will aim to teach women how quickly God hears their cry and about the amazing effect their prayers can have, if they will learn to bless those in authority, versus constantly complaining about them.
From the Ferguson’s of Yeshua Israel Ministries has an article on the Iranian published plan to target Israel’s nuclear reactor site and 3 of its major cities. …and a link to the new video for Shani’s Garden of Secrets.

Gaza War Focus

Beer Sheva pastor Howard Bass reports that despite the dangers from raining missiles from Gaza, the Shabbat service was well attended and blessed. Bass asks prayers for the officials making critical judgment calls on how to deal with the situation, and also for the Christian believers and general population in Gaza that are unprotected pawns of those creating a battle zone in their neighborhoods.

The Santoros give a good report of the performance of the Iron Dome missile defense, but also ask prayer for their son called up to reserve service.  One of Asher Intrater’s sons is also stationed near the Gaza border.  Pray for these and for all of the young believer’s – men and women – who are serving right now.

The Segals bring our attention to the needs that multiply in times of war.  They are working to supply gas masks for children.  You can find out more inside the Weekly Summary.

Ye’shi Reinhardt also sounds the “Prepare for war” cry.  His humanitarian aid organizations do ongoing work providing aid to terror victims, war injured and the general needs of the missile barraged city of Sderot.

Urgent Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

Pray for baby Netaley Bakker in Israel whose doctors operated today to remove a brain tumor.  The father wrote: The operation took about 5.5 hrs. It was difficult, she lost a lot blood (amounts that would be a lot for adults. Because she lost so much blood there is a higher possibility of complications.) Her heart stopped at some point, but they were able to get it running again. The next few days are critical; she'll be asleep in intensive care. She is still in a critical condition.

First Button by Asher Intrater
If one buttons up a shirt and starts with the correct button, then all the others will end up in the right place. If one starts with the incorrect button, in the end, all the buttons will be in the wrong place. So what is the "first button" of the Bible?
