Isaiah 63:14-17 As a beast goes down into the valley, And the Spirit of the LORD causes him to rest, So You lead Your people, To make Yourself a glorious name. Look down from heaven, And see from Your habitation, holy and glorious. Where are Your zeal and Your strength, The yearning of Your heart and Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained?
Doubtless You are our Father, Though Abraham was ignorant of us, And Israel does not acknowledge us. You, O LORD, are our Father; Our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name. O LORD, why have You made us stray from Your ways, And hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servants' sake, The tribes of Your inheritance.
This is an identificational prayer from the prophet Isaiah for such a time as this when the Body of Messiah stands in Israel so clearly interceding for "the tribes of Your inheritance" even though Israel does not acknowledge them, and Abraham did not see through history that they would exist.
"Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world." Acts 15:18

Last Wednesday Israel was rocked with mortar shells fired from Gaza into southern Israel and the return of bus bombings, when a package bomb was detonated next to a Jerusalem bus killing one Christian Bible translator, Mary Gardner. This on the heels of the brutal terrorist stabbing murders of a family in the settlement of Itamar. One ministry recalls these incidents as a painful reminder of the years of attacks in the first and second intifada.
As an intercessor for the Israeli Body during the 2nd intifada, there were glimpses of what that might feel like if it were occurring in my hometown. Can we imagine the feelings of those things taking place in our hometowns? Then we can intercede with a sense of passion for our brothers & sisters in Israel.
With the desperate need for protective covering against harm also comes wonderful testimonies of how the LORD is answering our prayers. Rejoice for the brother who was bringing his children home from school was delayed by a huge traffic jam and was about 1/3 of a mile from the explosion site. Thank God!
When David went to fight Goliath, he encouraged himself in past battles God had helped him to win against enemies of his flock – the lion and the bear. Similarly, Israelprayer remembers the testimonies we received as we prayed the Body through during the 2nd Intifada. The Valley of Dry Bones vision of Ezekiel was of a restoration in stages. That is also the lead in thought of an Israeli ministry from Jerusalem who carries the Messiah’s Mandate for equipping a generation of Israeli believers for the harvest. “Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into his harvest.” As Ron Cantor writes, the “third phase to Israel's restoration… is that she would fulfill her call to be a LIGHT TO THE NATIONS!”
Not only is Passover on the horizon, but so is the annual Passover Messianic Teen Camp. In Israel where believer kids often go to school with none-to-few other believers in the whole school, these spiritual fellowship camps have a major impact on the spiritual health of the young believers. Pray for all the participants, including the volunteer counselors, and also for all the financial provisions from generous donors inside and outside Israel. How can God redeem His purposes in the Gospel out of a triple-headed disaster like Japan is experiencing? Inside the Weekly Summary is just a taste of what is going on with ministries in Japan who are inter-related with an Israeli ministry, Revive Israel. You can also follow their prayer requests at Pray for Japan being blogged out of Fukushima. This is what faith and harvest-focus looks like in the midst of disaster.
It’s important to keep a lighter side even when times are tense, which is why I enjoyed this opening to Howard Bass’ prayer letter from Beer Sheva this week: “Greetings from an intense country, where our fathers all lived in tents, too.” Bass also wrote, “We know and have been forewarned that lawlessness will be increasing as we get ever nearer to the end of the age and the coming again of the Lord. Terror produces fear and anxiety. May the grace of our God work in us the fear of the Lord and complete trust in Him."
Many of the prayer letters received in the past week have been concerned with the survivors of the Fogel family murders, the bus bombing and the rocket fire from Gaza. Wary eyes are also cast on the revolts going on in all of Israel’s neighboring Arab countries – Egypt, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Iran. The threats are serious and violence manifests continually. Pray for the whole believing community in Israel, that they would enter into the promised peace in the midst of the storm, and for the overflow of their peace to minister to many God places in each of their paths.
Thank God for the peace and reconciliation Yeshua has established between the Israeli Messianic Jewish and Christian Arabs. Pray for God to heal the places of conflict between them fully, and to continue to mutually bless those who are given to seek the strengthening of brotherly bonds of peace.
Thank God for the Israeli-Bedouin who are proud to serve in the IDF, and all those who love the truth. Pray for those who are held captive by cradle to grave indoctrination in hate – this happens on both sides of the conflict although far more prevalent in places like the Hamas stronghold of Gaza. Pray for the Father to reveal His Son and set the captives of hatred and deception at liberty.

Euphoric Media Most media leaders have been euphoric over the revolutions taking place in the Middle-Eastern Arab world. Dictatorships are being swept away; power is now in the hands of the people! Or at least this is the officially perceived wisdom of the day. Many are the editorials in the conservative and moderate newspapers in Israel warning of the great dangers ahead. Few are such reports in the Western press!

This passage was the choice of several Israeli ministries so becomes the priority scripture this week. We see in it not only the ‘earth shaking’ calamities that are being experienced in different parts of the world, but also a sense of the joy that is set before us.
"At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, 'Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.' The words 'once more' indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our 'God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:26-29)
This week I am also reminded of what Yeshua said of nations rising against nations, and kingdoms against kingdoms – of famines, pestilences, and earthquakes around the globe: “All these are the beginning of sorrows." Mat 24:7-8
As one Israeli ministry notes this week, the shaking is not just for destruction but for the bringing forth of the Kingdom that cannot be shaken. This is likened to the birth pangs that brings for new life. “And although the birthing process is not always easy, it is always filled with the joy and the hope of the coming child. And so it is with us. As we suffer with all those who are suffering in these turbulent times, we have a hope and a joy that will not be extinguished.”

Whenever there are major situations exploding in the world, this is the time the enemy launches fresh major attacks on Israel. In the times when there is major distraction, then the enemy chooses to strike seemingly unnoticed blows against the Jewish state. But God is watching even when the world press and governments are not.
This is also the pattern we have noticed as far as how the spiritual enemies of the gospel in Israel work. When Israel is busy and distracted by battles, this is when attacks on the Body of Messiah begin to peak in Israel. When the times are distracting, this is the time to be most watchful on the walls – God is one call away to turn what the enemy has meant for evil, to good.
Pray for Israel’s leaders to make wise decisions, and not be pressured by those who would sacrifice them as insignificant. Pray also for the Body of Messiah in Israel, for godly wisdom, brotherly unity and the heart knowledge that their birthing pangs do hold the promising joy of new life now bursting forth.
Speak blessings upon the spiritual exchanges – pouring vessel to vessel – that are going on between the believers in Israel with each other, as well as their brothers in the worldwide Body. As Spring is blossoming in Israel and the tourist season starts in earnest, pray that there are deep brotherly bonds formed to meet the challenges and share the joys of birthing the Kingdom together.
In the midst of even great shaking, as in Japan, the LORD has stationed those who are able to step into the breach providing spiritual and natural resources for their countrymen. An emissary from Revive-Israel offers this Pray for Japan blog by ministry partners in Fukushima who are being used mightily.
For every Christian or Jewish organization raising donations among Christians to help the needy or other causes in Israel, there exists an Israeli ministry – believers in Yeshua/Jesus – who not only minister in all those arenas, but they do it unashamedly in the name of Israel’s only hope: Yeshua. If an organization says they “draw the line” at associating with Messianic ministries, then understand they mean they are completely hostile to the gospel. Don’t hate ‘em, but invest your resources in better spiritual soil.
The Jerusalem Institute of Justice not only serves the civil and religious right of believers in Israel but invest themselves in many social projects like their Lone Soldier Program. An outreach to IDF soldiers who are estranged from loved ones – many because of religious beliefs that exclude military service. Pray for JIJ as they reach out in some unusual arenas. Pray also for all believers in the Israeli Defense.

One of the lessons of Purim may be the balance between fervent intercession for dire circumstances and a joyous celebration of life thanks to our having a Deliverer. As Ron Cantor noted, “There is an old joke about Jewish holidays that they are all the same: They tried to kill us, we survived, let’s eat!”
Purim is also a major life event marker for the Ortiz family whose youngest son Ami miraculously survived a Purim package bomb planted by a religious Jew three years ago. Truly a miracle of God’s power to protect and heal, Ami continues on with his life while his attempted murderer plots with attorneys on how to beat the system and avoid being held accountable.
There are several follow up reports on the recent ultra-Orthodox demonstrations in Arad and Ashdod from the Beckfords, the Figueras and Howard Bass inside the Weekly Summary. Best news so far is that the demonstrations have backfired in public response. Read this in the Beckford report and also the Caspari Media Review under Praying the Headlines.

The Beckfords are back in court on Mar 22 (today) and 28th. Nothing is resolved yet and prayers are requested. The house arrest is relaxed somewhat – but only for when they travel outside Arad. In Arad there is a large yeshiva which will create trouble for them on first sight. Pray for the many issues weighing on them, including their finances and communications.
Here is an ironic twist, the Pentecostals and the Baptists of Kiev, Ukraine were brought together in unity in recent weeks out of a shared desire to learn more and understand why Israel is important to God – and to them and their nations. Well, not so ironic – more like prophetic. In receiving the Israeli brothers, the worldwide Body will also find themselves coming together as no time in the past.
Pray for the brother whose appeal for a U.S. visa is being resisted because of a previous overstay. Pray for favor to be granted as ability to come in and go out is essential for the ministry in further training and resources.
A last minute request has come in from a much loved brother in the north of Israel as he returns to the U.S. after his 94-year old mother has received an “untreatable” diagnosis from doctors. He requests prayer for both his mother and father to come to faith in Yeshua. We agree with him for the miracle of God revealing His son to Muriel and Nick before their time runs out on this earth.
We were so blessed to read the reports this month from a dear lady in northern Israel who is one of the pioneers of the faith in the Land of Israel. Ruth, whose husband Albert passed away a few years ago, says that she has just celebrated 40 years in Israel and God’s faithfulness in all those years. Her report inside the Weekly Summary will bless you, and indeed, it brought tears to my eyes as I read her simple, honest words of faith and serving the Lord’s purposes in her generation. Mazal tov, Ruth, you are a blessing to us all!

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows,

Do you think Haman was worried about the Kingdom of God principle of sowing and reaping? What about those religious persecutors today of the believing community in Israel? What about the radical fundamentalists of political Islam or religious jihad? What about the U.N. – or any of the Western nations that gather themselves against Israel?
God assures us by the prophet Isaiah that sowing and reaping is firmly in His hands – and His authority is given by inheritance to those whose righteousness comes from Him. It is the authority in the name of Yeshua to protect ourselves against weapons and decrees made against us.
Isaiah 54:15-17 is the legal spiritual declaration of the LORD for His servants, and the Purim story of Esther is the demonstration of how our inheritance looks in real time, played out in human circumstance.
The Esther Fast begins tonight at sunset. For a 1-day fast, it lifts on the 17th at sunset. For a 3-day fast it lifts on the 19th at sunset when Purim begins and the fasting becomes the celebration of deliverance.

Over 127 nations will be represented in the Esther Fast called by one Israeli ministry – many more will be joining in to declare the Word of the Lord and Fast and Pray.
Here is a guideline for anyone who wishes to unite as one voice before the Lord – in the prophetic role as Esther before the King.
1. Public Scripture Reading – read out loud, as a devotional declaration and a prophetic proclamation, these three passages:
a. Esther chapters 3 and 4
b. Zechariah 12:2-3, 6-10; 13:1, 8-9; 14:1-9
c. Romans 9:1-5; 10:1-2; 11:1-29
2. Fasting – at least the 24 hours from sundown to sundown on just water (with exceptions of course for those with special needs). For those who have the desire and the ability, we invite you to fast a full three days, according to Esther 4:16.
3. Prayer – to intercede according to the themes of the book of Esther, and to emphasize at least these 7 major prayer directives:
1. Salvation for the Muslim peoples
2. Salvation for the Jewish people
3. Reconciliation between Jew and Arab through Yeshua
4. Bind spirits of anti-Semitism worldwide
5. Strengthen the local Messianic remnant in Israel
6. Guidance for government leaders in Israel and the nations
7. Prepare the Church to stand victorious in the events of the end times leading up to the Second Coming

The demonstration in Arad against a believer widow/foster mother was not as raucous as in times past, but did bring out supporters of the Messianic believers from the neighborhood, as well as the press. Pray for the LORD to turn to good all the evil that has been brewing against the Arad believing community – that it will redound in the fruit of salvation and the glory of the Name of Yeshua.
Pray for the principal of an Arad school who supported the Messianic believers while waving a huge flag of Israel which became the shot of the day for press reporters covering the demonstration. Pray he will not suffer persecution for standing with believers.
In the Weekly Summary (which is available only by supscription) is a good word – a clarification - this week from a ministry in the Judean Hills on Psalm 22:3, God is not just ‘enthroned on the praises of His people’ but the literal Hebrew reads: “God sits in the praises of Israel.” When Israel is singing the praises of YESHUA, then it will mean “life from the dead” for the world.
Another good word is shared from a ministry in Haifa inside the Weekly Summary, how in John 2:23 the Jews at Passover “saw the signs He was performing and believed in his name." If we ask what someone’s name means in many languages, their name has no meaning associated with it. But in Hebrew, names have deeply personal and spiritually prophetic meaning. It means something when people believe in the name of Yeshua – “God will save!”

The connections between the believers in Israel and in Germany are being strengthened daily. We speak blessings over these associations, which are proof that even the deepest of wounds can be healed when the Lord Yeshua is the Lord of both parties. Pray for the ministry whose landlord is being pressured to evict them from their ministry compound because of their faith in the LORD. This is a common problem among believers in Israel – but pray that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that every tongue rising to condemn them will be judged as empty, going nowhere.
Pray for every ministry in the process of obtaining property purchase, or renovation permits – that God will even make a way where no way seems to exist. That He will grant the ministries and believers favor with the authorities granting release of needed things.
Another report on the demonstration Arad notes that the crowd were shouting out, "banu hosheh legaresh", a known Israeli Hanukkah song, which says: "we've come to drive-out the darkness." As the scripture said, these believe they are doing God a favor. Pray the FATHER will reveal HIS SON to them.
Located at Latrun in central Israel, less than 20 miles from Jerusalem, Ganei Chaim or the Gardens of Life, is very close to the biblical Emmaus, where Jesus revealed himself to his disciples. This property has been given to the Messianic community by a Church who held the rights. It is being developed as a forest of biblical trees to the glory of Israel’s Messiah Yeshua – also with vision as a meeting place for believers. No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper

There is a reason “no weapon formed against you shall prosper”. The reason is our inheritance in Yeshua gives us the delegated authority to pass judgment on the condemning words beamed at us. Weapons may form against us, but we do not have to allow the weapon to prosper against us. This is our inheritance when our righteousness is of Him and not of our own.
The Purim story of the Book of Esther is a prophetic demonstration of Isaiah 54:15-17. God enlightens the prophet that even the "waster" and the "smith/charash = skillful to destroy" are His creations, therefore are subject to God's control. That is why He tells us that our inheritance as His servants is to CALL A HALT to weapons prospering against us and also to render judgment - making void - the tongues that rise up in condemnation of us.
As we look at the Book of Esther this week because Purim begins on the 19th - let's consider the events that took place in the light of what God says in Isaiah 54:15-17:
Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by Me: whosoever shall gather together against you shall fall for your sake.
Behold, I have created the smith (skillful to destroy) that blows the coals in the fire, and that hammers out an instrument/weapon for his work (to destroy you); and I have created the waster (shachath/to pervert, corrupt or destroy) to destroy.
No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in condemnation thou shall judge. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, says the LORD.

Do you think Haman was worried about the Kingdom of God principle of sowing and reaping? What about those religious persecutors today of the believing community in Israel? What about the radical fundamentalists of political Islam or religious jihad? What about the U.N. – or any of the Western nations that gather themselves against Israel?
God assures us by the prophet Isaiah that sowing and reaping is firmly in His hands – and His authority is given by inheritance to those whose righteousness comes from Him. It is the authority in the name of Yeshua to protect ourselves against weapons and decrees made against us.
Isaiah 54:15-17 is the legal spiritual declaration of the LORD for His servants, and the Purim story of Esther is the demonstration of how our inheritance looks in real time, played out in human circumstance.
The Esther Fast begins tonight at sunset. For a 1-day fast, it lifts on the 17th at sunset. For a 3-day fast it lifts on the 19th at sunset when Purim begins and the fasting becomes the celebration of deliverance.

Over 127 nations will be represented in the Esther Fast called by one Israeli ministry – many more will be joining in to declare the Word of the Lord and Fast and Pray.
Here is a guideline for anyone who wishes to unite as one voice before the Lord – in the prophetic role as Esther before the King.
1. Public Scripture Reading – read out loud, as a devotional declaration and a prophetic proclamation, these three passages:
a. Esther chapters 3 and 4
b. Zechariah 12:2-3, 6-10; 13:1, 8-9; 14:1-9
c. Romans 9:1-5; 10:1-2; 11:1-29
2. Fasting – at least the 24 hours from sundown to sundown on just water (with exceptions of course for those with special needs). For those who have the desire and the ability, we invite you to fast a full three days, according to Esther 4:16.
3. Prayer – to intercede according to the themes of the book of Esther, and to emphasize at least these 7 major prayer directives:
1. Salvation for the Muslim peoples
2. Salvation for the Jewish people
3. Reconciliation between Jew and Arab through Yeshua
4. Bind spirits of anti-Semitism worldwide
5. Strengthen the local Messianic remnant in Israel
6. Guidance for government leaders in Israel and the nations
7. Prepare the Church to stand victorious in the events of the end times leading up to the Second Coming

The ultra-Orthodox demonstration against a believer in Arad – a widow and a foster mother to orphans from believing families is rescheduled now for Wednesday March 9th. This has become an annual event outside the woman’s residential home with hundreds of hateful protesters. Join with the believers in Arad who will be interceding off-site.
With Purim fast approaching (sunset Mar 19) the believers in Israel are preparing to enter an Esther Fast – either a one day fast sunset 3/16 to sunset 3/17, or a three day fast ending on sunset 3/19 at the start of Purim. Remember that the Purim season holds danger for the Messianic believers – it was the holiday that Jack Teitel attempted to murder the Ortiz family in Ariel in 2008. The reason is that some religious Jews consider them to be like Haman - in a conspiracy to “steal the souls” of the Jewish people. Pray for God’s hand of protection over the entire community of faith in Israel.
One Israeli pastor wrote: The challenges facing this nation are great but our God who has promised to "guard" Israel is greater. He is faithful and the certainty of his word fills those of us who believe with an unquenchable hope. As challenging as it may be to live in the shadow of these threats, the wonder of being a part of God's end time plan for Israel is a continual blessing.
Pray for those who are living under the shadow of great threats in Israel, but are carrying the gospel message of a future and a hope to their brethren of the flesh.
The pioneer believers in Israel began to break up the hard ground, preparing the soil. Then the Sixties ‘Jesus movement’ generation began to plant the seeds of faith establishing congregational plants throughout Israel. Now their children are the young families – Israelis in every sense – are now being raised into their spiritual leadership roles. Truly the fields are beginning to produce the expected harvest.
In each of the ministries, most of the support staff – even the other pastors – have to raise outside funds for their salaries. As you might imagine, those who immigrated to Israel came with some contacts in their countries of origin as a support base. This leaves the current leadership being raised up mostly without a foreign support base. Pray for hearts to be stirred to support the young generation of Israeli spiritual leaders.
Pray for each generation of Israeli believers to fulfill God’s purposes in their generation. Pray also for the unity among the leadership in each of the cities and towns, that they could prayer together and come together to really know and appreciate each other as a family unit.
Pray for the families of all the Messianic congregational leaders. The strong health of any congregation begins with the strong healthy, vibrant and fulfilled family of the pastor. Cover them, as well as all their support leaders. They are providing a living example to their congregations of the way to walk in the LORD.
A quick report from Lura & Eddie Beckford today on the most favorable reception in all of their court dates so far. The ultra-Orthodox file nuisance lawsuits and false charges as a form of passive aggressive persecution. They are scheduled for court dates on March 22 and 28, which should finalize the 3 cases against them. Pray for the Lord’s favor and justice.
The ultra-Orthodox demonstrated again at Beit Hallel Messianic congregation in Ashdod – as promised – on Monday night. They also plan to demonstrate against another believer, Pnina, at her bakery in Ashdod that they have been trying to drive out of business. When in Ashdod, stop in to support the business of Pnina’s Pies.
Israeli believers are putting to practice what it means to be “wise as serpents and harmless as doves” as they are sent out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Pray for the Lord to give them each great grace that they may be wise and anointed in all their dealings – even with those trying to lay traps for them.
Thank God for the many diverse opportunities that open the door to share the gospel to their friends, family, neighbors and even to their enemies. Even though there is much energy put out to drive them out, the believers are not scattering, but they are multiplying! This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight!
Messianic attorney Calev Myers of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, as well as a number of other Israeli civil rights groups, held a protest in downtown Tel Aviv calling for an Israeli constitution which is opposed by the Orthodox who want to impose the national lifestyle to rabbinic law. The believers in Israel have much in common with the secular public, like Israelis Also Want Freedom

One of the traps I have seen in intercessors for Israel is people only being interested in praying about the "big things" - the international politics, the war threats, the terrorists. These never get around to praying for the small, mundane things - like the nuts and bolts of the spiritual harvest in progress. The Palestinian men who murdered Kristine Luken and stabbed Kay Wilson went on trial March 2nd. Meanwhile the Ortiz and Balbisi families are still waiting since his arrest October 2009 to see if Jack Teitel will even stand trial for the murder of Sami Balbisi and attempted murder of Ami Ortiz. Pray for justice to not drag its feet so much in the case of the Jewish terrorist.

Remember that the Purim season holds danger for the Messianic believers – it was the holiday that Jack Teitel attempted to murder the Ortiz family in Ariel in 2008. The reason is that some religious Jews consider them to be like Haman - in a conspiracy to “steal the souls” of the Jewish people. Pray for God’s hand of protection over the entire community of faith in Israel.
One Israeli pastor wrote: The challenges facing this nation are great but our God who has promised to "guard" Israel is greater. He is faithful and the certainty of his word fills those of us who believe with an unquenchable hope. As challenging as it may be to live in the shadow of these threats, the wonder of being a part of God's end time plan for Israel is a continual blessing.
Pray for those who are living under the shadow of great threats in Israel, but are carrying the gospel message of a future and a hope to their brethren of the flesh.
The pioneer believers in Israel began to break up the hard ground, preparing the soil. Then the Sixties ‘Jesus movement’ generation began to plant the seeds of faith establishing congregational plants throughout Israel. Now their children are the young families – Israelis in every sense – are now being raised into their spiritual leadership roles. Truly the fields are beginning to produce the expected harvest.
In each of the ministries, most of the support staff – even the other pastors – have to raise outside funds for their salaries. As you might imagine, those who immigrated to Israel came with some contacts in their countries of origin as a support base. This leaves the current leadership being raised up mostly without a foreign support base. Pray for hearts to be stirred to support the young generation of Israeli spiritual leaders.
Pray for each generation of Israeli believers to fulfill God’s purposes in their generation. Pray also for the unity among the leadership in each of the cities and towns, that they could prayer together and come together to really know and appreciate each other as a family unit.
Pray for the families of all the Messianic congregational leaders. The strong health of any congregation begins with the strong healthy, vibrant and fulfilled family of the pastor. Cover them, as well as all their support leaders. They are providing a living example to their congregations of the way to walk in the LORD.
A quick report from Lura & Eddie Beckford today on the most favorable reception in all of their court dates so far. The ultra-Orthodox file nuisance lawsuits and false charges as a form of passive aggressive persecution. They are scheduled for court dates on March 22 and 28, which should finalize the 3 cases against them. Pray for the Lord’s favor and justice.
The ultra-Orthodox demonstrated again at Beit Hallel Messianic congregation in Ashdod – as promised – on Monday night. They also plan to demonstrate against another believer, Pnina, at her bakery in Ashdod that they have been trying to drive out of business. When in Ashdod, stop in to support the business of Pnina’s Pies.
Israeli believers are putting to practice what it means to be “wise as serpents and harmless as doves” as they are sent out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Pray for the Lord to give them each great grace that they may be wise and anointed in all their dealings – even with those trying to lay traps for them.
Thank God for the many diverse opportunities that open the door to share the gospel to their friends, family, neighbors and even to their enemies. Even though there is much energy put out to drive them out, the believers are not scattering, but they are multiplying! This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight!
Messianic attorney Calev Myers of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, as well as a number of other Israeli civil rights groups, held a protest in downtown Tel Aviv calling for an Israeli constitution which is opposed by the Orthodox who want to impose the national lifestyle to rabbinic law. The believers in Israel have much in common with the secular public, like Israelis Also Want Freedom

One of the traps I have seen in intercessors for Israel is people only being interested in praying about the "big things" - the international politics, the war threats, the terrorists. These never get around to praying for the small, mundane things - like the nuts and bolts of the spiritual harvest in progress. The Palestinian men who murdered Kristine Luken and stabbed Kay Wilson went on trial March 2nd. Meanwhile the Ortiz and Balbisi families are still waiting since his arrest October 2009 to see if Jack Teitel will even stand trial for the murder of Sami Balbisi and attempted murder of Ami Ortiz. Pray for justice to not drag its feet so much in the case of the Jewish terrorist.

People Power or Days of Rage – the protests and demonstrations breaking out in the nations – what shall we say of these things? Are these demonstrations for good or for evil? Each one we approach like Ezekiel when the LORD asked, “Can these bones live?” The prophet answered, “O LORD God, You alone know.”
One of the reports this week via a reliable source in Egypt is that in all the cities of Egypt there are thousands of prayer meetings taking place daily. These believers are expressing their concern that in the present chaos, Islamic fundamentalists will soon seize power.
But God is giving the Egyptian believers encouragement and even children are seeing angels and Jesus. One child saw Jesus sitting on the family sofa and it cast out all fears in the family. He even called his grandmother to come live with them, to be in a place where Jesus was their protection from harm.
Pray for the Body of Messiah/Christ in Egypt – that their prayers will be anointed, their spiritual vision clear, their hearts full of trust in the Lord – and that they will be able to keep continued communication with the Body outside Egypt to inform us according to what God is showing them about their nation. With increased danger to Jews and Christians in the Arab nations where regimes are toppling, will Israel become a safe haven destination for refugees? Some Israeli Messianic humanitarian organizations are preparing for that now. Pray their storehouse would be filled for the coming needs of all types.
Thank God that when a grad rocket from Gaza came down in Beer Sheva last week that no one was hurt. Ten people were taken to the hospital for shock and panic attacks, and the incident underscores the increased dangers of Israel in this season.
In Ashdod, a Messianic congregation has been targeted for an ongoing demonstration and harassment by the ultra-Orthodox who vows to return weekly to shut down the vital work of Yeshua going on in that place. Pray for Israel P. and the Beit Hallel congregation to be full of grace and mercy in the midst of storms raging against them.
The religious rhetoric is extremely inflammatory – even inciting to go beyond talk; even comparing the Messianic Jews to Hitler and to Hamas. One flier read: "the goal of the Messianics is clear, they want to convert all of us Jews to Christianity and not leave any trace of the Jewish people. The Arabs want our Land, and they want our souls,"
In the demonstration the Chief Rabbi of Ashdod said, "The missionaries want a final solution to the Jews, in the name of the same cursed name that created Christianity (he meant Jesus). That is what Hitler wanted. We are sending out the cry: "Who is for God, come to me (he was quoting Exodus 32:26)." "They take advantage of the poor and tempt them to have a better life as Christians." The Rabbi accused the Messianic congregation. "We will keep demonstrating and with God's help will remove them from the city."
Pray for the protection of all the Israeli believers and especially those actively targeted. No weapon formed against them shall prosper and every tongue that rises in condemnation against them, we render judgment against.
In Arad, the demonstration against a widow believer woman with three sons and many foster children by the ultra-Orthodox has been postponed until later this month. The police at first limited the numbers of demonstrators (from 400 down to 200) that would be allowed to demonstrate in front of their residential home, then postponement. The protesters are not happy. Yad L’Achim activists and paid ‘volunteers’ are in the forefront of the demonstrations.
Pray for the believers in Arad who have been continually under fire for the past 8 years. They ask for the prayers of the saints for the salvation of the orthodox. Ask also for the demonstrations to speak to the Israeli public – that they would see the jealousy that is moving against those ministering in the power of Messiah.
Pray that the fear of the Lord would fall upon the police, judicial and government authorities who have not had a good record of protecting the believers from religious persecutors.
What is different in these things happening to believers in Egypt and these things happening to believers in Israel? There is no difference if we are not hypocritical. Israel has a calling, pray that she will not shame herself in this.
Several of the congregations have begun seasons of fasting and prayer – "sound the shofar, consecrate a fast and call a sacred assembly" so that "the Lord will be zealous for His land and pity His people." God adds that, in response, He will send grain, new wine and oil - symbols of harvest, joyful holiness and anointing.
Let us ask for physical and spiritual strength to dedicate ourselves wholly to the Lord during these days and intercede together for a fresh outpouring of the Ruach (Spirit).
Pray for the Discipleship Centers established among the ministries and congregations of Israel. Here concentrated spiritual fathering is taking place to establish young believers deeply into the Word and ways of the Lord. Never is it more true that the youth are our future than when we are speaking spiritually.
Pray for those who are beginning to move on visions to raise up new congregations in the Land. Pray for those who are helping in counsel and for the process of preparation and establishing these works.
Men, women and children – each group has distinct needs for ministry in the congregations. Pray that Yeshua would set in His Body in the Land what is needed in ministers and in ministry programs to meet the needs of families, couples and singles in the congregations.
Pray for the Psalmists of the Israeli Body – Shani Ferguson has a new CD just out and Carolyn Hyde is currently in the studio creating a new worship CD. Pray for these songs of Zion to reach into the Israeli public as a ministry, and into the world also as a support for their ministries.

There is every ‘denominational/non-denominational’ Jewish ministry going on in Israel – a stream of the River you can relate to and support their work. Pray the greater Body of Christ will discover their true spiritual roots in Israel – we are grafted into SAVED Israel and they are doing the work of the evangelist, prophet, pastor, teacher and apostle to Israel. Mostly Christian supporters of Israel are not filling these ministries to Israel. That is just the honest truth.
