What an echo of the prophetic passage of Isaiah (61:1-2a) that Yeshua proclaimed of His ministry in Israel in Luke 4:18 – and that ministry which was to the first century Jewish believers which is now passed as the Messianic Jewish community of Israel again is being raised up to proclaim liberty to the captives of Israel. Yeshua, in the Luke account, stopped His quote of the Isaiah passage and might it not be that it is because this is the portion that applies to the Body of Messiah in Israel to carry out at the appointed time? Starting at Isaiah 61:2b (picking up where Yeshua left off at saying “To preach the acceptable year of the LORD”), the prophetic word continues: “" and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified." Are these not those days, and are the Israeli believers not those who are the trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD in Israel, that He might be glorified?
As Israel observed its 66th anniversary as a nation, the population of Israel reached 8.18 million, roughly half of the world’s population of Jews. That is only 0.2% of the world population. Within this there are an estimated 1 million Messianic Jews worldwide and somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20,000 Messianic Jewish citizens of Israel. These were not chosen because they were a nation great in numbers, but God chose a small nation to do mighty things through. The same is true of the ‘nation’ of Jewish believers in Yeshua HaMaschiah. No matter how small and insignificant we all may seem in our own sight, the great things God promised were coming, will come. And so all Israel shall be saved releasing life from the dead to the nations.

The Messianic leader of the Harvest of Asher congregation in Acco, Guy Cohen, gives an account of his son’s recent Messianic Bar Mitzvah. We are specifically drawing attention to this because Guy is a sabra, born and raised in the city he now serves Yeshua in, and not only that, but his great grandfather was the Rabbi of Casablanca who immigrated to Acco some 60 years ago. His family history is deeply rooted in the Israeli soil of Acco, where his family, many unbelievers, joined together to see the first in their line of “Cohen’s” become a Messianic Bar Mitzvah. Mazal Tov to Guy and Tali and their son, Reu El-Chen.

Brian Slater, a Chosen People ministry in Netanya, was really active
during the Passover season with outreaches to the needy, the Holocaust survivors
and the War Veterans. Food parcels were
delivered, dinners given, and even top quality orthopedic shoes given out to
grateful elderly needy and Holocaust survivors.
You can read all about the many outreaches Brian’s ministry led in
Netanya – including taking 50 Holocaust survivors and war veterans to the
Handel’s Messiah concert in Hebrew.
Brian writes about the food parcel outreach: Our number one policy is that all products are given freely, regardless of color, ethnicity or religious beliefs. Most of these people that come to us know that we are Jewish and non-Jewish believers in Yeshua (Jesus). Every week at least a dozen or more of our recipients ask us to pray with them on site. Many of them come month after month looking forward to having us pray for them again. They tell us of sensing and seeing the Hand of God in their answered prayers and healing. Many that we have prayed with have come to faith in the Messiah Yeshua and now come to our local congregation. Halleluyah! Please pray for our continued weekly distribution and relationship building of these 330 poor and needy Israeli Citizens, Holocaust survivors and War Veterans.

Sheva writes, “Israel is remembering tonight and tomorrow those who have died
in the struggle to return 'home'. This
is immediately followed by the celebration of 66 years as a re-established
nation in the homeland. I have written more about that, and its relation to the
greater redemption and Redeemer here. I have also posted some thoughts about the
BDS Movement and my worry that there are some following the error of Balaam,

here.”

Eddie and Jackie Santoro who lead the
Jerusalem Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem speak about the miraculous
and seemingly impossible rebirth of the State of Israel 66 years ago – while fully
expecting even more miraculous things that lay ahead in Israel’s future. They write, “On this Yom Hatzmaut (Israeli
Independence Day) we encourage you to share in our joy by watching this short and wonderful
video. We promise that you will be blessed.”

trip to the U.S. and I was so delighted to get to see them again after 11

David Davis of the Carmel Assembly writes about their Passover Seders when several prayed to receive the Lord and others indicated they were interested to hear more. Pray for all those around Israel who heard and are having their hearts stirred by the Holy Spirit revealing Yeshua to them. Pray also for the ministries who are making internet resources about Yeshua open to Israelis in Hebrew. This is a powerful way to do outreach because it is in the privacy of one’s own home that they can learn more and get answers to their questions about Yeshua.

The Carmel congregation is in a 50-Day Prayer
Surge: We now have a 24/7 prayer chain
going up on Mount Carmel. Many of our people have committed to praying an hour
a day from Passover to Shavuot, June 3, for personal revival and revival on
Mount Carmel. Please consider joining us
as we press into the Lord for His purposes to be accomplished. A key scripture
verse is Psalm 72:16: “There will be
abundance of grain…on the top of the mountains… and those of the city will
flourish like grass.” Read more about

Ronit Bender thanks all who helped to get her
settled in to a new home after being forced to leave the home she shared with
her recently departed husband. The
Bender’s had been most active in ministering to young Druze in their
village. Pray for Ronit as the LORD
directs and makes way for her path going forward.
Israel Pochtar gives us a report on their
latest Bible and Gospel outreach event saying, “We witness now that it's not
about finding people who'll be willing to hear the gospel, but about giving
them the opportunities to hear it. God has begun moving and really opening
doors as never before for Israelis to hear the good news of Yeshua.”
Be praying for their Alpha Course which launches on May 26th – a follow up course for about 50 non-believers who have been with us on bible tour and gospel outreach event, and they want to know more about God and Yeshua the Messiah.

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the
tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli
believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:
- Pray for Messianic leader Marcel Rebiai of Shemen Sasson congregation in Jerusalem as he recovers from severe health issues (which were not specified).
- Praise report from David Lazarus of Beit Immauel: The dear sister who prepares our breakfast and also makes the food for the children on Friday evenings discovered that she has a cancerous growth. The whole congregation has come along side in practical support and prayer. Three weeks ago she gave a glorious testimony to God's touch in her life and has now received a doctor's confirmation that the cancer is in submission!
- Brian Slater’s wife Racheli As of a few weeks back there was talk that she would have to go back to surgery and start from the beginning. According to her recent doctor visit, her bone fusion is moving forward, however she is still having regular terrible pain. Thank you and thanks unto our Lord Yeshua for answering your prayers as we put our faith in The Holy One of Israel.
- Shlomy Abramov of AwakeIsrael asks continued prayer for his wife Miram who went in for a surgery, there was a complication and she almost died. Shlomy writes this update: The doctors say it will be summer before Miriam is healed completely, 6 mo. In total.
- Arni & Yonit Klein of Emmaus Way request prayers for staff in the U.S. (Becky and Keith) and in Germany (Hannah) as they heal from extremely serious injuries received in accidents.
- Four elder ministry leaders in Israel, are dealing with Parkinson’s which is a neurological syndrome. Since they have not shared this information, I will just ask for you to please pray for them each to be able to continue to live normal lives, and for the hand of the LORD to bless them with healing.
- Please pray for the wife of Ariel Ben David, who leads an Eilat Congregation, and also for his worship leader, both of whom were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Pray for Ami Ortiz for ongoing issues from the Purim 2008 bomb blast – all this time later there are still painful procedures, lack of recognition from the government of this terror victim status.
- Guy Cohen of Harvest of Asher asks for continued prayer for Marlene’s physical healing.

Congregation Tiferet Yeshua...Alive, Well and Growing!

We have completed a little over half a year since Ari and Shira
transferred leadership of Tiferet Yeshua Congregation. There is much to be
thankful for.
First of all there is our solid relationship with Ari and Shira
themselves. Although this might seem like an insignificant aspect, I am
beginning to realize what a break-through this is for the kingdom of God. Many
congregations are seen as an organization. If the leader steps down, it is like
a CEO being fired, and that is the end. We see this quite differently. A
congregation is a spiritual family.
What happened with Ari and Shira was a shift from being parents to being
grand-parents. The relationships hold strong and continue to develop. When
people around the country understood how we handled the transition in such a
loving manner, there was a great release of joy, healing and wisdom throughout
the country.
A number of leaders told us that this transition was an example and role
model to other Israeli leaders who will one day be handing over their flock to
the next generation.
Now a new team of leaders has been put in place. There is a group of
five elders who are working together in unity and cooperation. The congregation
feels a sense of peace and trust as they observe our leadership teamwork. Ron,
Gil, Moti, Uziel and I all have different gifts and callings but we are serving
the congregation together in harmony.
The worship teams continue to be strong, with four different leaders.
There is always a beautiful presence of the spirit, and often a flow of
prophetic words and prayers.
A renewed anointing of evangelism and sharing is on our congregation.
Virtually every week there are some “not-yet-saved” Israelis who visit, and
they are always deeply touched. This week a man came from an ultra-Orthodox
neighborhood and began opening his heart to the Lord.
In general there is a growing sense of vision for the congregation. The
numbers are increasing steadily. The heart of everyone in the congregation is
for us to be a light house of love and truth of Messiah Yeshua in the greater
Tel Aviv area. And that is exactly what
is happening now at Congregation Tiferet Yeshua!
