Priority Prayer Focus May 21, 2014
When Eddie & Jackie Santoro of Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem were here in the Dallas area a few weeks ago, we were talking after the service about the centrality of Israel in the plan of God - especially here as His plan is culminating. There may be an earthly argument over who possesses the Temple Mount where the Dome of the Rock stands, but in Heaven the issue of ownership has long been settled, Mount Zion belongs to God.

God put His name on that mountain, and it is that mountain where His Son's Throne will be set up to rule the kingdoms of the earth in the Millennium. Why do you think it is inscribed on the Dome of the Rock, "There is no god but Allah" and "he has not begotten a son". Islam lays claim to that mountain as a direct challenge to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and also to Israel's Messiah Yeshua. This is the real reason for the rage of Islam against the existence of the nation state of Israel - their existence is proof that Allah and the demonized prophet Mohammad are usurpers, laying false claim to the Throne of Righteousness which is destined by God to be situated in a precise geographical location - Mount Zion.
Taking the long way there, but Jackie and Eddie remembered during our conversation a picture they were given many years ago by a pastor in a European country. This picture is that. It shows all of the continents of the world contained within a globe-like circle and here is the kicker: there was only one way that all the land masses would fit inside the circle at once and that was only if Jerusalem was placed exactly center in the circle.
Jerusalem is central to God's plan. Let’s pray that God reveals this to more and more believers every day.

Starting this week with a report that slipped by us last week from Eitan Shishkoff – sorry Shish! Eitan gave a glowing report of his ministry trip to Korea where a Korean translation of Eitan’s awesome book, What About Me | The End-time Calling of Gentiles in Israel's Revival was unveiled. Shishkoff writes his thanks for prayers and says, “So enthusiastic and welcoming were the believers there, that I experienced new levels of God's anointing both in communicating His word and in praying for individuals.”
By this time, Eitan and Connie are well on their way to a mostly pleasure trip to the UK, but Connie recuperating from a broken foot. Pray for them to be able to fully enjoy their time away, and so to Eitan as he continues on to the US for several speaking dates which you can see in the Israeli Ministries on Tour section inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.
Eitan especially singles out the five
congregations and one ministry in the Tents of Mercy network who are serving
the people in the northern part of Israel.
He recommends the Tents website
and the Oasis Newsletters
are great places to visit to stay informed of the activities in this network (Such
a network of congregations is a pioneering first among the Israel ministries.)
One of the Tents of Mercy congregations
(actually two of them) are led by Leon Mazin, Return to Zion and Nazareth of
the Galilee. This week we received a
special request from Leon about their Haifa RTZ congregation having finally
found a perfect person to be their Youth Pastor. You can read what Leon has to say about Y, a
young married man Leon calls smart – good in 3 languages – compassionate and
possessing a pastoral heart.
In Israel, without the help of the international church, it is very difficult (if not impossible) to bring on much needed ministry staff. The congregations are not self-supporting – the poverty rates in Israel and other issues unique to Israel ministries make it difficult for all ministers including pastors to support their families without financial support from the international Church. This is one of the reasons that the apostle Paul was so adamant that the churches (in Acts) contributed materially to the ministries in Israel. He was setting up the model of the Church helping the Body in Israel to be able to fulfill its calling to advance the kingdom of the LORD in Israel. This has not changed. The need and the duty is still a reality. The Morning Star Fellowship in Tiberias is led
by Claude Ezegouri, whose book, The Land in Controversy is featured in the
Israeli Ministry Marketplace Feature of the Week below. They are thanking God for the getting the
last documents they need to complete the filing for the building permit they
need. Red tape and bureaucracy grinds
slowly in Israel. They have to pay
significant bi-monthly sums on local taxes so please pray all needs continue to
be met – also that they will be recognized as a “house of prayer” and a
non-profit organization. As we recently
wrote, there have been good legal changes lately with respect to Messianic
congregations being recognized.
Ezegouri also asks prayer for the launch of a
new monthly men’s group within their congregation and every 3 months, for the
Intercessors for Israel prayer meetings for believers in the northern Israel
region. Read more about this
congregation which is playing an instrumental part in the spiritual climate in
the Galilee with uniting believers throughout the north for regular worship and
prayer times.
Revive Israel relates how the Spirit is moving
among their members with the example of a recent meeting when Evan Levine
brought a new song he composed around Isaiah 53, then Messianic artist Elhanan
Ben Avraham, showed his new painting created the same week and also based on
Isaiah 53. You can see a copy of the painting inside the attached PDF Weekly
Summary, and prints are also offered for sale at a very reasonable price. Pray over the verses of Isaiah 53!
Asher Intrater also has a teaching about “understanding
of the gospel as a presentation of all the dimensions of the kingdom of God,
starting with repentance and salvation, yet ending up with Yeshua ruling and
reigning on this planet, will have more and more significance as we approach

so happy to connect with them again after a dozen years since the last
face-to-face. Eddie Santoro in a cowboy
hat…this does not compute! Really was great to see them and also to hear from
them in ministry time. You can also

From the Beer Sheva congregation we have a great
report from the “At the Crossroads” conference which brought in a courageous
group of “brothers and sisters in Messiah who come from primarily Muslim
backgrounds and countries, and some who risked themselves by being in a country
that they did not hesitate to call Israel.
Disappointingly to me, there were
very few local Messianic leaders who took any part in it. So we continue
to pray for a breakthrough in whatever it is that hinders us, so that the
power of the gospel to change lives and glorify the name of the Lord will be
manifested in all its facets.”
Howard writes, “Much of the devotionals had
Abraham as a very key figure, obviously, but it was interesting to listen to
the former Muslims relate to him and draw life lessons from him. The theme of the conference was the Isaiah 19
Highway, which is the theme of what is believed to be the major move of God in
these days. Politics and theology did
not figure into the conference, but rather what the Holy Spirit is doing to
bring salvation in Jesus' name, and to build relationships with believers
throughout the region of the middle of the Earth.”
Howard also writes about an opportunity for
the international church to come alongside in supporting a new young ministry
leader in their midst. Having served in the IDF as an officer, this young lady
has at her own initiative begun to teach the young girls of the congregation
ballet on a weekly basis. She also
teaches Shabbat school classes, translates in 4 languages, on the worship team
and meeting with the teen girls. You can

Dov Bikas is another of the precious brothers
in Israel who has chosen to minister among what society mostly considers the
throw away people – so washed up by addictions and sexual abuse that no one
thinks they can be redeemed. But Bikas
knows that what is impossible for man is possible with God and so they continue
to do outreach in Tel Aviv and Beer Sheva – reaching out to those who are
seeking hope from the midst of despair.
The Aviv Center in Tel Aviv now has space on
the ground floor twice as large as they had in the basement. Their doors are right next to several
brothels and also another ministry – Abundant Life – that works specifically
with prostitutes and women addicts. They
have been partnering together for quite a long time. Bikas also shares about some of the men in
their Beer Sheva rehab. Pray for the
work they are doing. If you have ever
had experience ministering to an addict, walking with them until they are
stabilized and able to make the right choices on their own, you know that you
have to be in it for the long haul and with both compassion and
discipline. Pray for Dov and Olga, and all
those who are working in these ministries – and for those who are finding their
way through Yeshua.

Joel says the next month will be intense for him as they are gearing up for the annual ELAV youth conference, university tests at the end of June, and the City-wide Day of Prayer for Jerusalem on June 27th. Teresa is also volunteering several times a week at the crisis pregnancy center and they also minister among the youth in their home congregation. Kehila.com aggregates publically available news
and articles from the Israeli Messianic ministries each week which are
distributed by email. This week one of
the stories featured is the recently held 2nd Annual Israel Business Forum Brings Together International
Christian Investors and Israeli Messianic Jewish Entrepreneurs . Organized by Israel Firstfruits
Center there were 39 international participants from the US, Canada, UK,
Taiwan, Korea, Sweden, Egypt and Nigeria, in addition to approximately 150
local participants. All we can say

Bethlehem | Christy is a Palestinian Christian woman from
Bethlehem who came to the conclusion from reading the Bible that the land of
Israel was promised to the Jewish people by covenant and that Christians were
better off in Israel under Jewish rule than in Muslim-dominated Palestine or
Gaza. She has interviewed Palestinian cabinet member Saib Erekat, taught on
college campuses, and shared her testimony in social media. Due to death threats she has fled the
country. Pray for protection for her and
her family from persecution and for widespread favor for her media teaching and

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the
tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli
believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:
- Pray for Messianic leader Marcel Rebiai of Shemen Sasson congregation in Jerusalem as he recovers from major back surgery.
- Praise report from David Lazarus of Beit Immauel: The dear sister who prepares our breakfast and also makes the food for the children on Friday evenings discovered that she has a cancerous growth. The whole congregation has come along side in practical support and prayer. Three weeks ago she gave a glorious testimony to God's touch in her life and has now received a doctor's confirmation that the cancer is in submission!
- Brian Slater’s wife Racheli As of a few weeks back there was talk that she would have to go back to surgery and start from the beginning. According to her recent doctor visit, her bone fusion is moving forward, however she is still having regular terrible pain. Thank you and thanks unto our Lord Yeshua for answering your prayers as we put our faith in The Holy One of Israel.
- Shlomy Abramov of AwakeIsrael asks continued prayer for his wife Miram who went in for a surgery, there was a complication and she almost died. Shlomy writes this update: The doctors say it will be summer before Miriam is healed completely, 6 mo. In total.
- Arni & Yonit Klein of Emmaus Way request prayers for staff in the U.S. (Becky and Keith) and in Germany (Hannah) as they heal from extremely serious injuries received in accidents.
- Four elder ministry leaders in Israel, are dealing with Parkinson’s which is a neurological syndrome. Since they have not shared this information, I will just ask for you to please pray for them each to be able to continue to live normal lives, and for the hand of the LORD to bless them with healing.
- Please pray for the wife of Ariel Ben David, who leads an Eilat Congregation, and also for his worship leader, both of whom were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Pray for Ami Ortiz for ongoing issues from the Purim 2008 bomb blast – all this time later there are still painful procedures, lack of recognition from the government of this terror victim status.
- Guy Cohen of Harvest of Asher asks for continued prayer for Marlene’s physical healing. For Misha, who has diabetes & was hospitalized w/infection and blood clot in his leg; for Jenia diagnosed with Hepatitis; Chen (Cohen) whose foot swelled double-sized after stepping on a rusty nail.

Asher Intrater writes about the “War Over Nigeria”. Boko Haram is big news in the U.S. and Asher
brings it down to this: “Let us pray for
this jihadist sect to be totally destroyed and its perpetrators brought to
justice, for the Muslim and non-Muslim world to wake up to the dangers of
radical Islam, for the safe return of the Nigerian girls, and for freedom and
security for Nigeria.”
When a religious soldier in IDF Officer’s Training balks at listening to
a fellow Messianic Jewish cadet, the General in command comes down on the
Messianic cadet’s side. As you can

Claude Ezagouri was born in Algeria from a Sepharadic
Jewish background. He and his wife Michelle emigrated to Israel from France as
fervent Zionist Jews in 1975. In the early eighties, while still Jewish Claude
undertook a spiritual journey through the eastern religions and different kinds
of transcendental meditation.
In 1983 he received Jesus as His Jewish Messiah when listening to an evangelistic radio program directed to Israel from South Lebanon. After participating in numerous evangelistic campaigns destined to reveal Yeshua as the Jewish Messiah to his people, in 1990 Claude received God's call to start and pastor the Morning Star Messianic Fellowship in Tiberias, Israel. He has been an international speaker for over 20 years and has taught about Israel and the Church, the land and the nation of Israel in God's plan for the end times, the Jewish biblical roots of the Church and several other topics. He is also a member of the board of "Intercessors for Israel" and has a heart for intercession on behalf of Israel and the Galilee.
