We are on the verge of the High Holy Days which are prophetic appointed times for the Jews to stand before God.  Let's pray for the opening of spiritual eyes for Jews and for anointed, appointed times for all the believers in Israel as they have numerous opportunities to share during the holidays.

Rachel Netanel's prayer letter never fails to get my motor running (as the saying goes)! Her testimonies of reaching people in her daily life in Israel just excites me.  Her home in Ein Karim is probably weekly the site of group gatherings of people she and husband Gilad have met who are invited to come share a meal and hear Rachel speak about the faith of Yeshua.  Many come and enter into long term - what would be the word, not discipling, but in the same vein she nurtures people along as they journey toward faith in Israel's Messiah.  It is such heartening reading and not only heartening but personally inspiring to not let everyday opportunities slip by us. 

Please read Rachel's testimonies inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary BUT let me share with you an insight she received recently as she spoke to students "at the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Yeshua.  When I was there God gave me a revelation.  Joshua went through the Jordan River to the Land of Promise.  Yeshua received the Holy Spirit in the same place where Joshua led Israel across the Jordan.  It was here that God promised the Holy Spirit not just to those people, but to the whole world."  Pray for Rachel and Gilad as they are pouring themselves out to share the good news with Israelis.

Avner and Rachel Boskey's prayer letter also shows a busy schedule just ahead of the High Holidays.  Rachel writes, "Avner spoke at the Messianic Assembly in Jerusalem — the first congregation we attended 36 years ago when we moved to Israel; shared with French speaking believers visiting the Negev and Spanish speaking believers visiting Jerusalem; and at the annual Christian Friends of Israel conference in Jerusalem on Multitudes of Nations in the Valley of Decision ....Last Shabbat Avner spoke at a Messianic congregation in Tel Aviv about Israel’s biblical calling and destiny.  A few hours later Avner and our oldest son Daniel flew to Poland." 

The Boskey's have just wrapped up recording on a new CD called Dry Bones Boogie which is now being mixed and mastered - close to release.  Rachel writes that, "In a final recording session, master bassist Harvey Brooks — who played with Bob Dylan on Highway 61 Revisited and with many other well-known rock and jazz musicians — graced us by playing on the title song on our CD “Dry Bones Boogie,” along with our son Daniel playing drums. . . .  The Succat Hallel 24/7 House of Praise in Jerusalem which is led by Rick and Patti Ridings, sends us an intro to one of the Israeli couples who are now on staff at the ministry.  The Ben Hod's acutually met at Succat Hallel back in 2008 when they were 15 years old!  Since then they've been leading worship and ministering to the youth and young adults, believers and non-believers of the land.  Read more about their personal story inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

There is also an ELAV update in the Succat Hallel prayer excerpt, and an article by John Mark Davis and Joel Jelski - "Praying for a Youth Revival."  The opening lines:  "From the beginning of Succat Hallel, alongside the mandate for 24/7 worship & prayer, the Lord also gave a strong call to labor for revival among the younger generation in the land. As a basic expression of this mandate, the house of prayer has always hosted a weekly worship & prayer time for young people in Jerusalem."

Ronit Bender in the Carmel area of northern Israel has been ministering in the opposite direction, as the Lord led her to a new apartment several months ago next to an assisted living facility.  She tells about a recent visit with an elderly friend when one of the friend's brothers arrived.  The man, Abdulla said he believed in Yeshua but was not born again.  So Ronit was able to lead this elderly man to the Lord in the presence of many others who were not born again but sat listening carefully.  As Ronit titled this section of her prayer letter, "It's never too late!."  To learn more about her ministry see inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

The Beit Hallel congregation is so grateful for all the help on their congregational bomb-shelter as the renovation nears full completion. They were recently able to use it to hose a youth conference for young believers all over southern Israel.  Israel Pochtar who leads the congregation wrote, " The South of Israel has many small congregations, with only one of these congregations being in a main city, and it has few young people. So in these Southern areas of Israel there really aren't many opportunities to conduct youth conferences, and we believe that God has called us to serve the youth in Southern Israel through conferences and impacting, relevant teaching."  He reports that there was an anointed time of worship and powerful teachings and the "energy and the passion of the young people was overwhelming."

Pochtar concludes by writing, "I would just like to thank our friends and partners once again for their overwhelming and loving support of our bomb-shelter project. We really couldn't have done it without them and we are humbled by their generosity and concern for the safety of our congregants and those whom we help through our humanitarian projects."

Howard Bass, who leads the Beer Sheva congregation, Nachalat Yeshua (Yeshua's Inheritance) writes, "Thank-you to all who took to heart the SAYF gathering last week, and Evan's trip to France for leadership training. The leadership prayer retreat at Sde Boker (about 50 km south of Beer Sheva) got off to a rather rough start, but the Lord was among us -- and we were gathered together in His name, truly -- and the Holy Spirit accomplished great peace and joy in our love for our Father and Lord, and for one another for Messiah's sake. Where there was offense, the grace of God was greater and more powerful to bring out humility and appreciation. God is good, and by faith in Yeshua and His blood shed for us, closer bonds of trust are strengthened. Howard writes, "Given the interest in New Moons -- and it could be said that the 1st day of the 7th month on the Hebrew calendar is the New Moon of new moons -- I am concerned that many believers are being led to miss it by human reasoning and satanic deception and confusion. I do believe that I have shown biblically that the New Moon is dark, and that the phases of the moon -- all of which have names -- also show it to be so."

 Praying the Headlines

Caspari Media Review reports on the media attention that the head of the anti-missionary org Lehava has received since Rabbi Gopstein openly stated that he supports burning churches in Israel.  Read and be aware!

Barry & Batya Segal's Jerusalem News Network highlight the fact that a growing number of Palestinians in Gaza are risking all to flee to Israel because of the repressive Hamas government and poor living conditions in Gaza.  "The IDF interrogations revealed that the refuge es are even willing to risk going to prison - or being killed by security forces mistaking them for terrorists - due to widespread hunger and fear of Hamas."

     Israelprayer: These Gazans are much like the Arabs who are fleeing to Europe to escape the horrors going on in by opposing Islamist forces throughout the region.  We could be hard-hearted about this, or we could recognize that many are in the place that God can reveal His Son to them.  Let's pray for the latter.  Europe does not need any more radical Islamists and we should not discount God's ability to answer these traumatized people with His peace and love.  It is certainly worth a prayer.
