Priority Prayer Focus Oct 1, 2014

Due to the fact that there are so many visitors from the nations and activities during the annual High Holy Days in the fall, there is a traditional drop in the number of prayer letters from Israeli ministries issued during this time.  Please pray for spiritual eyes and hearts to be opened in Israel.  Because the Biblical Feasts of the Lord are prophetic seasons that depict the LORD’s intentions to save “all Israel”, these holidays are truly “appointed times” for Jewish people to come to spiritual awareness of the Messiah Yeshua.  Pray for Divine appointments for His laborers in the harvest fields of Israel and for the harvest to be plentiful.

Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Friday evening October 3^rd at sundown begins Yom Kippur-"The Day of Atonement".  It is a solemn day of fasting, repentance, reflection and prayer.  Our worship friend in Jerusalem, Martin Sarvis provides us with the assorted Bible readings that will be read throughout the world by the Jewish people, and gives us understanding of the texts and the times.  Sarvis also provides prayer points that are specific to this holiday season that a great many in the Israeli MESSIANIC community will be praying over the Body of Messiah in Israel, as well as the whole nation.  Your prayers of agreement are welcomed, and you can learn more inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary

On the subject of Yad Hashmona:  We are entering into an exciting phase in the building project here at Yad Hashmona. Lots of cement is being poured for the foundations of the new houses and winery. Please keep this Messianic Kibbutz in your prayers along with all the building currently taking place.

Hasdey Yeshua is the Hebrew congregation in Arad (as opposed to the Russian speaking congretation).  It is led by a plurality of leaders and has been in the bull’s eye of religious harassment and persecution for the whole 14 years I’ve been producing this weekly summary of prayer requests from Israeli ministries.  It had died down a little over the past year due to secular backlash against the ultra-Orthodox in Arad – the seculars not appreciating the religious persecutors activities – but now it is starting to pick up again.  This we have heard from several sources in Arad over the past few months. Please pray for these believers who have been through much.

Accusing one of the main preaching leaders of the Arad congregation of “deceiving” and “teaching lies”, one of the congregants notes a little known fact about deception and the “rabbinic legend of Goliath (a real Biblical character who was killed by David the shepherd boy) had a "brother" whose supernatural powers included leaping in a single bound from one mountain to another. Nonsense? Of course! But this, among many other legends, is taught as fact to ultra-orthodox children, and on the same level as Scripture. As they get older many realize that what they’ve been taught since youth is silliness but since they can’t tell fact from fiction they frequently throw everything out, including faith in God. Please pray for the ultra-orthodox. They need a revelation of who their Messiah is.”

They write, “More Opposition - A number of our young families live in a neighboring rural community.  It seems like this would be an idyllic place to live and raise a family. But even here, the specter of bigotry has raised its ugly head. The very religious Jewish people in the community found a number of pretexts to angrily demonstrate against the believers there. Since there aren’t many people altogether in a place like this, opposition from any faction is much more difficult and awkward. The believing families have very small children. Please pray for their protection and strength to face those who are opposing them. Also pray that in this circumstance Yeshua will shine through His followers.”

Ron Cantor who is a pastoral leader in the Tel Aviv congregation Tiferet Yeshua (Glory of Yeshua) is entering a 41 Kilometer event on October 15^th to raise funds and awareness for the congregation. They have several pressing financial needs and Ron is appealing to those who would make a pledge for his ride with 30,000 other participating cyclists (most of whom will only be doing the 8k or the 21k).  You can find the pledge link inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.  One of the pressing needs Ron is taking this 41k challenge on to meet is to restore cutback in the congregation’s Teen and Children’s ministry.  “I want to restore their full budget so we can raise up our children to love Yeshua,” he writes.

Just two Shabbats ago a young man who was entering the congregation encountered “Beni, a paid Orthodox Jew who seeks to keep people from coming to our congregation”  Beni told the young visitor, “Don’t go in. They are liars!” The man not only went in anyway, but before he left he professed faith in Yeshua at the end of the service.  Ron writes, “We are poised for growth!”

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue

Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs: 

One of my best friends here in Dallas is married to an Israeli Messianic Jew, whose grown children and former wife are still unbelievers in the Tel Aviv area.  The former wife recently found out she had an extremely serious cancer that has spread to other parts of her body.  She is currently in an impossible situation, so please call out with us to the God that “impossible” means nothing to, for "D".  The main tumors are in the lung, but they think there may be small ones in the head also. Please pray for miracles, healing and faith, and for all to turn to Messiah Yeshua.  And...they all know we are praying.
