Priority Prayer Focus

The biblical fall Feasts of the Lord are in full swing and in Israel these “High Holy Days” present tremendous opportunities for the Israeli congregations and believers to shine in their faith in Yeshua. Despite the overpowering sense of war in the air hanging over all Israel, those who are walking with the LORD YESHUA are also powerful, living testimonies of His peace and grace.  True peace in the midst of the storm. 

Pray for the believers as they hold get-togethers, special services and meals with family, friends and neighbors over these several weeks of prophetic holidays that speak of God’s salvation of Israel.  Pray also for many hearts to be prepared and eyes opened during the holidays.  Every year we hear of more and more who enter eternal life during these special seasons. Pray the 2012 Fall Feast Harvest will be more abundant than every other year before – in the name of Yeshua!

In case you missed our SPECIAL Arrow from Zion last week here is an important matter for prayer that impacts the Body in Israel.  The only Messianic Jewish settlement in the world – Yad Hashmonah just outside Jerusalem – lost in the court case brought by two lesbians that wanted to use the facility for their wedding reception.  They were fined a total of $80,000 NIShekels (about $20,334 US Dollars).

The “Holy Land” is far from holy at this point and struggles with every sin that is common to many including homosexuality which is pushing the envelope in many Western nations to be an accepted ‘mainstream’ lifestyle.   The ruling in this case, which was hailed widely in the Israeli media, reflects the secular blindness to this horrible sin.  Pray for secular Israelis.  Yeshua said that tax collectors and prostitutes would come to faith before the religious, pray those in the LGBT life would see a Great Light in the Land, and come out of their darkness.

Pray for Yad Hashmona which has had a hotel facility that allowed it to rent out to secular groups. The judge has ruled that if they open their doors to groups outside the faith, they may refuse rental to any group no matter what sinful lifestyles the group represents.  This is a major challenge to the income of the facility.  Pray for God to grant wisdom dealing with their future.  Pray for God to raise up those who would come alongside to help Yad Hashmona pay off this unjust fine.  Pray also that what the enemy has meant for evil, God will turn to good for Yeshua’s followers and for Yeshua’s glory.  To help.

Be informed of a false report about “Massive Troop Movements Reported in Israel” that is targeting Christian prayer lists and spreading to other internet media – forums and Facebook.  Likely the work of anti-missionaries who enjoy making Christians the butt of their jokes – also some emails contain requests for donations.   Israelprayer has received several confirmations from Israeli ministries that this is a FALSE REPORT. 

This underscores two needs:  (1) That Christians have communication lines open to the Israeli Body of Messiah so they can get the real story; and (2) that we stop believing everything we read in an email or on the web and actually authenticate the report before spreading it.  

Shani Sorko-Ram Ferguson of Yeshua Israel has written an article that Israelprayer would like to encourage all its subscribers to read - Demystifying Israel.

This week is the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah, referred to as Rosh Hashanah).  Asher Intrater writes, “The priestly symbol of the trumpets is given in the Torah (Levitcus 23:24). The prophetic meaning of the trumpets is given in the New Covenant (Revelation 11:15). By putting the priestly and the prophetic together a revelatory understanding is released to guide us into end times' battles.

Pray for the gatherings of family, friends and neighbors who will be exposed to the Good News through the Israeli Body of Messiah during this season of the High Holy Days, biblical fall Feasts of the LORD.  Pray for many to see Yeshua and His salvation.  Asher has a new video teaching for Sept: King of Glory

Maoz’ Ministries media team have prepared a special video about how the Feast of Trumpets became the New Year and the significance of the feast.  Ron Cantor delivers the message and reports that he is getting a lot of feedback from the 4,000 hits in 3 days! 

Pray with the Figueras of the Mercy of Yeshua Congregation in Arad over a potential facility they have found.  The congregation has been forced to meet in the open air over the past couple of years (even during the winter months).  They are facing some hurdles with great opposition in Arad city government siding with ultra-Orthodox attempting to take over the city and to halt the faith of Yeshua in Arad.   A silver lining is a new friend in high places of the city administration who has taken it upon himself to defend the believers of Arad.  Pray for this man – that God will bless him and promote him for being a blessing to the brothers and sisters of Yeshua in Arad. Pray that God will raise up His banner of love over the community of faith in Arad, and shower them with favor and grace.

Thank God for the good report from the Figeuras that Ariela – a relatively new believer/single mom of triplets + 1 other child – has been declared cancer-free by her treating doctors.  She has been battling cancer for several years but during the last round has been supported greatly by believers in Israel and outside the country.  Continue to pray for Ariela to remain cancer free, to grow in faith and grace, and to be a mighty testimony to the power and love of Yeshua.

The pastor, Israel Poctar, and congregation of Beit Hallel in Ashdod have also been a specific targets of the orthodox community over the past couple of years.  The persecution has been stepped up in the past several weeks with the issue of a hateful pamphlet throughout their neighborhood calling them “dangerous missionaries.”  Please pray for this family (the children were especially shaken) and congregation that is a very effective ministry in Ashdod. 

Israel Pochtar writes, “We need your prayers more than ever now that we are facing such fierce opposition. This is a spiritual war more than anything else and we know God has the victory and the last say.  This is crucial time for the body of Yeshua to unite in standing for not only us, but all the believers in Israel.”

Ye’shi Reinhardt (Hands of Mercy & Tents of Victory) continues to minister to the shell-shocked S’derot community – the small community near Gaza that has been relentless targeted by rockets from Gaza.  Like all humanitarian aid organizations in Israel, their aid must be given without sharing the gospel as is dictated by Israeli laws.  Regardless – it is better to bless needful Israelis through humanitarian aid organizations led and operated by believers.  It is giving with a different Spirit.

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue

Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs: 

Katya Morrison at Tents of Mercy (Acute Myeloid Leukemia);  Uzi, Meir, Bob, Fruma and Katya and Rivka (an elderly member suffering severe back problems)  at Maoz Ministries, Brookie in the Galilee.  Tom, Nataly and Larissa who have all been diagnosed with cancer in Carmel.  Pray also for Kay Wilson suffering from PTSD after surviving a stabbing terrorism attack that her friend did not survive, and in her quest to receive proper post-terrorism financial help from the Israeli government.  Continue to pray for baby Netaley who is still undergoing chemo.  Pray for Eddie and Lura Beckford whose recent move has been physically very hard on them, Lura suffering a broken rib in the moving process.  Ariela in Dimona has been declared cancer-free (but because of several years of cancer in various areas, continue to pray for this fairly new believer).

Please pray for the nations as they enter “the Valley of Decision” at the United Nations from 25th September-1st October.  We call upon all believers to fast and pray for Israel from Rosh Hashanah (evening of 16th September) to Yom Kippur (26th September)

Teaching Articles

Guy Cohen of Harvest of Asher in Acco recently taught in their Weekly Staff Equipping meeting from Mark 9:14-29 on why the disciples were unable to deliver the boy possessed with an unclean spirit.  We know that Yeshua said some cases require fasting, but Guy pointed out another issue involved: their ability to [cast out demons] was diminished as a result of the scribes’ argument against them.

Israelprayer:  This is in line with the understanding we have from 2 Kings 18 about the strategy the Syrian Rabshakeh used against besieged Hezekiah by speaking greatly intimidating threats (vs. 26-27) to the people.  By words only Rabshakeh was demolishing the support and confidence of the people out from under king Hezekiah.  This is a strategy of the enemy that is used on every level and often wins the battle without anything else but intimidating words – trash talking – breaking the will of opponents.
