Urgent HEALING Needs
Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
When we first began to see the strong pattern of health attacks against the Israeli ministry leaders (and those who are in ministries focused on helping them complete their calling), the Lord reminded me that it is an old tactic of the enemy to come against the deliverers before those held captive can be delivered.
This was the case when the enemy planted it in Herod's heart to kill all the Jewish baby boys in an attempt to kill the Messiah King. It was also the case for Moses when Pharaoh decided there were too many Jews males and ordered all the sons to be cast in the river. Moses and Yeshua - deliverers of Israel.
The Israeli Messianic leadership can also be understood as God-sent deliverers as the hour is upon us for many in Israel to be delivered into the kingdom of Lord, Yeshua. Is it any wonder that we should see a widespread attack on their health to cut off the work God has given them?
But we have a very strong statement from God that covers just such a circumstance as this, in a chapter of Isaiah that is named "The Future Glory of Zion". Isaiah 54:16-17 -
"Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the Lord.
First updates from Eddie Santoro and Jacob Damkani: Both of these leaders send their grateful thanks to all who have been praying for them during their health crisis.
Eddie Santoro is now home from the hospital and awaiting discussions with the doctors on the types of treatments to keep the tumor from coming back. But praise the Lord! Jacob Damkani still in the hospital but improving. A correction from my former reporting: Yakov did not suffer an aneurysm but an aortic dissection, something that occurs when a tear in the inner wall of the aorta causes blood to flow between the layers, forcing them apart. The Damkani's ask that everyone keep praying: "the doctors and nurses need much wisdom, and us too."
Two points to remember for all people who are dealing with health emergencies: (1) Pray against anxiety and fear that hits person and their loved ones, (2) realize that being in a medical emergency is overwhelming - cut them some slack for not continually updating on progress - just keep praying for them.
Please keep in prayer the Israeli leaders who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:
Eddie Santoro, a beloved pastor of the Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem, underwent brain surgery for a tumor on Tuesday. Eddie wrote, " Please pray that there will be no damage to my brain, no bleeding and no infection." Pray for his complete and 100% healing and recovery - that cancer will not arise again! (See joyful update below!)
Elana, wife of Ron C of Tiferet Yeshua in Tel Aviv was injured in an auto accident 2 weeks ago in the US. Now in Israel she is still suffering much pain from ruptured discs sending her back to hospital with pain & numbness. Please pray for her as she sees a spinal specialist in next few days.
Michael E is not an Israeli ministry, but is a critical support player in communications of the ministries. Last fall Michael suffered a stroke, now doctors are trying to get to the cause of continuing health issues - attempting to rule out Lou Gehrig's Disease but leaning toward an MS diagnosis. Michael likes to fly under the radar, but is desperate for prayer agreement. Please pray for him, and for other unnamed key support people in Israeli ministry-related service suffering acute, serious health issues.
Jacob Damkani is still in the hospital but is improving in recovery. Please pray for wisdom of his doctors and that his recovery is completed, too.
Brian S, as we reported, did not have to have a pacemaker, but his wife, Rachel has a hip replacement scheduled (after complications from shattering her hip 1 1/2 years ago). With three children and mercy ministries to run, the pressures on this family are severe. The surgery was supposed to take place 2 days ago but has again been postponed for a month. Please keep this family that does mercy ministry in prayers for God's mercies.
Judi, the wife of Yaakov K, a pastor in southern Israel, is battling cancer and already had radiation, surgery and chemo. She has a spot on her liver that's inoperable, but it's not conclusive yet whether it's cancer or not. Next round of tests will be conducted in October.
Moshe M, treasured elder statesman of Messianic Judaism and founding elder of Tents of Mercy has been dealing with excruciating back pain due to a sciatica nerve problem. I am asking for concentrated intercession to free Moshe from this debilitating condition
Marc C is one of the true fathers of Messianic praise and worship and our worship overseer at Tents of Mercy. For the last number of months Marc has suffered from a prostate ailment that recently received surgical treatment. His recovery and the full recovery of his vital functions has been incomplete and he is still in discomfort. Please pray for full health recovery.
Ruth N of the Nahariya Fellowship: Ruth is being treated for Lymphoma biologically. Still it will need months of hospital visits and treatments, and patience, so I would value your prayers. A new development for Ruth is that her whole body has broken out in a rash that looks like burns. Drs have not yet identified the cause.
Please pray for one of the forefathers of the Messianic movement who shall remain nameless, as his health continues to deteriorate. And for his wife and family, that his wife receives the help she needs to care for him as he is less able.
Shelly, wife of Eitan, a pastor in Israel Pochtar's ministry: Please continue to pray Shelly, who was on death's door step in May, but has begun a miraculous steady healing process since then. She has re-learned to walk and is regaining strength and feeling well. Please pray that God continues this complete turnaround from the valley of the shadow of death to full, complete healing.
Claude E of the Morning Star Fellowship in Tiberias, for unnamed health issues that may be a result of the stressful process they've been going through getting the new congregational facility through all the red tape.

These are appointed, prophetic times for Israel to appear before the Lord, which means these are also tremendously opportune times for Israelis to hear about the faith of Yeshua from friends and family who are already in the faith of the Messiah of Israel. So this is a time for two things: helping the Israeli congregations with their many outreaches during this period both with prayers and finances. Next up, please pray for the Morning Star Fellowship in Tiberias as they are coming to the final requirements necessary to be able to occupy their new congregational facilities. They have really been put through the ringer of opposition to get everything they need, and it has taken a toll on them, but the Lord said, Keep pressing in. Lift their arms up like Aaron and Hur lifted up Moses weary hands in the battle against Amalek. This is what it is about for this Israelprayer ministry!
Christian Arab pastor Najeeb Atteih in Haifa is so proud of his son, Tino who serves in the IDF. In fact, he is proud of all 500 of the Arab Christian soldiers who serve in the Israeli army, and is working to provide an Arab Christian Soldier's Home for many of these soldiers who are not welcome, or it is not safe, for them to return to the homes of their families when not on-duty for Israel. Making Israel Jealous - One more story about pastor Najeeb: "Najeeb went to the Mall with Tino and nephew Stephano to purchase some things for Tin's army service. One religious young man was urging men to put on the prayer bands ( Tfillim in Yiddish) and he invited Najeeb, who prayed the prayers after him, and let them bless him. Afterwards, they realized he was not Jewish, and Najeeb began to speak to them about the Messiah who was a Jew. They were amazed that an Arab would know so much about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and also their scriptures. After they had talked a long time, one of them asked Najeeb to bless him, and he did, and prayed for him in the name of Yeshua the Jewish Messiah. This all took place in a spirit of love which we all felt."
Ruth Nessim, who is with the Light of Galilee congregation in Nahariya, is a good friend of Pastor Najeeb and helps him with his ministry prayer letter in English. She often goes with Najeeb and his wife Elisabeth into the territories, and her openness to Arabs has made her a much beloved lady by even the Muslims who cross her path. Although the political situation becomes dicey even between the Palestinian Christians and the Messianic Jews in Israel, Ruth is great example of living with an open heart towards others. Howard Bass of the Beer Sheva, Yeshua's Inheritance congregation, is looking forward to the rain in the forecast for Israel this weekend. They do not have air conditioning, so the two intense heat waves Israel has been experiencing has been tough. (Sleeping on the tile floors might even been worth it for some degree of cool!) Howard tells us that the end of summer gathering of the whole Israeli Messianic community is coming up next week. It's a fun time for families and friends to gather for the last blast of summer. . . .then all focus is back to school and the coming high holy days.
Proud of his son, Howard writes that Evan left yesterday (Mon.) with a group of 18 young potential leaders from around the country to go to a place in France for a week of leadership training. Marcel Rebiai, Wayne Hilsden, and Oded Shoshani are the instructors and disciplers, all proven leaders with good character and reputation, with a strong desire to see the younger generation be trained up and to take on leadership roles and responsibilities. We are very glad that Evan has been included in this excellent opportunity, and also to bond together with others from other congregations." Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem picks up on an article published in the Ha'Aretz newspaper in 2005 by Hananel Mack, a professor in the Talmud Department of Bar-Ilan University and in the Department of Hebrew Literature at the Hebrew University. Mack's article, "What happened to Jesus' haftarah?" explores the professors suspicion that it was deliberately excised from the readings by Jewish leaders because Yeshua (Jesus) claimed it as corroborating and being fulfilled in His mission on earth." Martin's prayer request is to that point - "PLEASE PRAY: That the Holy Spirit will awaken a curiosity which will lead many Jews to this year search out and read Isaiah 52:13-53:12. Pray for the "veil" to be lifted that they may see and have understanding and believe in the one who came first to live and release Kingdom life among us, to suffer and "bear the sin of many"-to die and be buried, to be raised to see His seed and prolong His days. Pray for revelation of this righteous One, the knowledge of whom "justifies many!"
