Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

This week we start with the good report of ELAV Youth & Young Adult conference in Jerusalem last week.  Despite opposition against the Messianic Jewish and Christian Arab young people coming together for days of prayer and worship before the LORD together, the report filed by our friend Martin in Jerusalem is that the Anointing was there, and both young and old were mightily blessed by the event.

Martin writes that a notable progression in these gatherings over the years from discovering one another, to mutual confession and renunciation of the divisions and distrust brought about by racial stereotypes which have stood as a wall for countless generations. . . .into deeper Spirit-led acts of reconciliation and mutual bonding.  This year the event progressed yet again to "strengthening of committed and fearless bonds of brother and sisterly love, which in the near future will prove necessary in standing against the threats and even persecutions of the enemy against and within our communities."

Martin writes, "We know that persecution will come.  As mentioned in a recent Update, only two weeks ago handbills were passed out on the Temple Mount (and left in other parts of “East Jerusalem”) warning Christians that they will be targets of destruction if they do not leave before the close of Ramadan (which ends this Thursday). Nor will it only be from the Muslim religion. 

On the day before the start of Elav, a radical far-right ultra-Orthodox organization known for its sometimes violent activism ... was featured in a popular Orthodox news daily, calling the ELAV gathering a “Massive Missionary Conference in the Heart of Jerusalem” and fervently encouraging “all those who care about the character of the Holy City”  to join in a protest in front of the venue on opening night.  They also called on Jerusalem’s Mayor to call off the conference. Although the Israeli Body of Messiah is loathe to dwell on the issue of religious persecution, it is important for international intercessors to be aware when the environment of freedom of religious expression in Israel begins to undergo change.  This is such a time and you are intercessors for Israel for such a time as this!  Read my brief word on recent indications of a rise in the religious persecutors activism against believers inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary.  News items and perspective for those serious about standing with the Body in Israel.

Social Media is an exciting way to reach interested Israelis in the privacy of their own homes. Last week we shared how anti-missionary group Yad L'Achim was launching an effort to force One For Israel to remove YouTube and Facebook advertisements for the ministry's YouTube videos down.  We need to pray over these things, because we have seen that many social media outlets are not exactly unbiased when it comes to Jesus/Yeshua! 

Speaking of social media, we read with great excitement about a new internet TV channel that is about to be launched in Israel, in Hebrew and for the whole community of faith in Israel to utilize.  It is called Yeshuachai, which means Yeshua is alive, or Yeshua Live.  It will be a 24/7 channel of videos from the ministries and congregations in Israel to broadcast to fellow Israelis spreading the Good News of Yeshua.  Click here to view a promotional video in English and read more about this exciting vehicle for the Israeli Body inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary Please pray for this important development.

David Davis of the Carmel Assembly writes about how despite the difficult times that lie ahead may alarm us, that we can be assured that the wonderful end time promises are also surely coming to pass.  One of the greatest of these is expressed in Jeremiah 31 as God expresses his love and faithfulness to Israel and those who have come into covenant relationship with Him through Yeshua.

Davis writes, "This is happening now in this auspicious kairos moment, finally after 2,000 years!  He is rebuilding His nation before our eyes and the eyes of the world, as we rejoice and praise Him on the mountains of Israel.  Messianic congregations continue to multiply from Dan to Beer Sheva.  In the past twenty-five years more Jews and Arabs have turned to the Lord than at any time since the Book of Acts!"  Read more of Davis uplifting message inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Rachel Netanel in Ein Karim begins with a scripture that is PERFECT for all of you interceding from the prayer points you receive from Arrows from Zion and the Weekly Summary:  “Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you.”  3 John 1:5  She writes, "I thank the Lord everyday for you. It is so comforting to know that we are not alone."  

Rachel, and her husband Gilad, open their home for weekly gatherings of different people they meet or know, to minister to them about Yeshua.  Rachel is being greatly used by God in personal evangelism which is the #1 way to reach Israelis.  When people living in the situation of most Israelis are attracted by the life a fellow Israeli exudes - this is the most powerful witness of all.  I urge you to read the prayer letters of this ministry to understand how sharing the Good News in Israel really is. Revive Israel, which is Asher Intrater's ministry, does a review on the movie Let the Lion Roar. "Anti-Semitism is a part of church history. There is a dark past that has been present in many congregations until this day. Let the Lion Roar is a new movie depicting the birth of the Protestant church, takes you on a journey throughout the Reformation portraying the great reformers and their relationship to the Jewish people."

There are also two timely teachings by Asher, one a video, that is featured below in the Teaching Article section.  And this important prayer request:  "Please continue to pray with us for Muslims here in Israel and around the world as they enter into the last week of Ramadan (30 day fast ending on July 17th). Pray for protection of believers from attacks and for dreams, visions and salvations."

Eddie Santoro, pastoring the Ahavat Yeshua congregation, writes about how key relationships are - in fact, this is the foundation of the Kingdom of God.  Yeshua himself showed the necessity of developing intimacy with those He would share His life and ministry with.  Santoro writes, "This fundamental principal that is so exemplified in the life of Yeshua has been the primary goal of our life and ministry here in Israel. . . . Our table has always been filled with brothers and sisters with whom we "eagerly desired" to break bread and share our lives. Yes, we taught them and we counseled them, helped them financially and served them. But underlying it all, the thing we offered and the blessing that we enjoyed were lives joined together in love."

Read more about a recent congregational weekend retreat in far northern Israel, also the vision they are beginning to develop in forming small group meetings twice a month to further enhance the ability of congregants to have deeper relationships with each other.  Santoro requests prayer help writing, "We feel that this is the most important next step for our congregation. We also know that the implementation and success of these small groups will be a great challenge as there are many things, both spiritual and natural which war against this vision, especially in this intense and complex city of Jerusalem. Leon Mazin, another ministry that is deep into humanitarian aid to the Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union, speaks about the meanings behind the biblical Feast of Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost.  He writes, " When the fields are ripe at Shavuot in early summer, Israel's farmers reap wheat to make bread and satisfy hunger. . . . The Lord Yeshua told His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field" (Matthew 9:37-38). We live in a day when all three of these events are taking place again: the giving of the Torah, the pouring out of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual harvest.  Read more

Mazin writes about a festive Shavuot outing for the congregation that saw 3 busloads of people plus those arriving in their own cars to the gathering at the Jordan River.  "Thirteen people were immersed in the Jordan River. We believe this trend will continue, and that the fruit will become more and more apparent."                                      

Mazin also writes about a program they offer:  "the Pilgrims Program is a 7-10 day study program for groups of 8-20. Its goal is to teach about Jewish roots of Christian faith, to increase understanding of Israel and befriend local Messianic Jewish believers."  Interested? Avner Boskey of David's Tent and Final Frontier Ministries writes about The malignant tumor of anti-Semitism – Modern manifestations and practical cures.
