In Mark 4:23-24 Yeshua charged His disciples with two very important statements.  The first was, "Those who have ears to hear with, let them hear!"  The second statement made immediately afterward was, "Pay attention to what you are hearing! The measure with which you measure out will be used to measure to you -- and more besides!” 

I believe the first meaning of Yeshua’s second statement was to tell His disciples that they must move beyond hearing, into the doing of what they heard. 

I also think there is a secondary meaning, which is to pay attention to HOW you are hearing.  Sometimes different people will ‘hear’ extremely different meanings from the same statement. 

Another translation says it this way:  "Pay attention to what you're hearing! You will be evaluated by the same standard with which you do your evaluating." 

We want to hear what the Spirit is saying today and to understand what the intent of God’s heart is for us to take away from that.

This week I am starting off Israelprayer with an article by Asher Intrater that was first published in Nov 2005, The Destiny of the Nations and the reason is because it is a critically important understanding for all of us in the nations.  How we see things, impacts how we pray over things.  We should never underestimate what God can do with a faithful Remnant – not only the faithful Remnant in Israel, but also in each and every one of our own nations.  I have long believed that if we do not love our own nation and the people of our nation, then how can we honestly say we love Israel?  Is there not the same high percentage of sinners in Israel as in our own countries?  I hope you will take this excellent and evergreen word by Asher to heart.   Click to read, or read in full inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Richard and Carolyn Hyde of Heart of God ministries shares their joy at the wedding of their son Avi-Asher and new daughter-in-love, Liora.  The ceremony was held at Yad Hashmona, which is Israel’s first true Messianic Jewish moshav, or villiage.  Over Shavuot, their other son and his wife, Ariel and Shayla played Ruth and Boaz in a play at the HaCarmel congregation. Carolyn played Naomi and at the end, Ariel presented the gospel to which many responded in faith for salvation.

Lura writes, “In the evening, downtown Arad is filled with African refugees sitting around the square.  We took advantage of this opportunity to pass out Arabic books and other languages, depending upon which country they come from.  Their status is uncertain and most are unemployed. Pray as the Lord leads for these people (mostly men) who are looking for a better life free from persecution. Some of them are Christians.”

The Beckford’s home is a meeting place for many believer groups in Arad, which is in the Negev Desert.  After having to replace his cell phone, Eddie was able to get a smart phone with translation capability which he is using now to communicate in Arabic, Russian and Hebrew – opening new ministry opportunities.  Lura writes, “We continue to pass out the audio Bibles in various languages and other books. Pray for opportunities to talk one-on one with Hebrew speakers.”

Eliyahu Ben-Haim is chairman of Intercessors for Israel and a member of Kehilat El Ro'i in Jerusalem. In his most recent prayer letter, Ben-Haim discusses war in Israel, recalling the 1991 American war against Iraq when Saddam sent scud missiles flying into Israel trying to back the American attack off.  Ben-Haim discusses what he believes about the potential for Israel to be hit with a nuclear weapon – he believes it is possible but also that God “has brought us home to save us not to destroy us. We cannot say that about any other nation. But we also can't say we will be spared from an attack. In our 67 years as a reborn nation we have fought six wars, three actions in Gaza and suffered innumerable terror attacks.  23,320 Israelis have been killed in battle or terror attacks since 1860 (the first Aliyah), when Jewish settlers first moved outside the walls of Jerusalem. In the past year 67 were killed during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza and a number also died from terror attacks. God is bringing His word to pass and it also involves flesh and blood.”

“I am writing about biblical principles,” writes Ben-Haim,  “and also what I see as the true state of the natural world. It really is not only Israel which is in great danger but the whole world, which refuses to learn the lessons of history.”  Read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Arni Klein of Emmaus Way is also “Reading Sign” of the times:  “Though He tells us that no man knows the day or the hour, we are exhorted to pay attention to the signs and the seasons.  When the foundations move, it affects the house. When the plates of the earth shift and the ground shakes, destruction comes to the lives and works of men.  Surely, as this is true in the natural, it is even more so in the spiritual…wherein lie the foundations of all that exists. 

Klein cites Psalm 11:3 : “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?’  The Hebrew word for foundations here refers to a political or spiritual basis.  For decades we have been witnessing an erosion at the deepest levels.  Principles that were once commonly held as irrefutable have been violently cast out and trampled underfoot.  . . . Marc Chopinsky from Tents of Mercy is scheduled on June 10th for TURP surgery for BPH. Appreciate any and all prayer for good success and complete recovery.

From Guy Cohen in Acco:  Continued prayer for Arab Pastor Hani's full recovery of a broken arm and elbow.

Ron Cantor requests prayer for his mother in law who went into the hospital for back surgery which had to be postponed because she needs heart surgery first.  As he says, any surgery at her age of 70 is quite overwhelming emotionally.  Pray for peace, and for perfect surgeries to extend her life and comfort.
