Priority Prayer Focus Apr 22, 2015
Rejoice in your 67th Birthday, Israel!
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at ceremonies commemorating IDF fallen and terror victims on Wednesday, Netanyahu said, 'Our enemies must know they will not break us.' Netanyahu speaks of Israel's strength and insists all Israelis 'are one family.'
The Central Bureau of Statistics announced that 176,000 births, 32,000 new immigrants account for 2% population increase in 2014. At 67, Israel is home to 8.3 million people.
I cannot see that number - 67 - the years since Israel declared itself an independent, reborn state among the nations, without remembering the words of Yeshua in Matthew 24 about the generation that would see the signs of His coming and the end of the age. There are a few ideas about how long a generation lives, but even in our day 70 years is a common life span. The re-born state of Israel is coming up to that generational marker, and it could not be clearer both the evil and the godly signs that Yeshua spoke of in this passage. Let us focus on the godly part:
"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
Spiritually, the fig tree is tender and its leaves have come out, even some spiritual fruit has appeared. This is the generation, Yeshua addressed to His disciples privately. We should be aware of the times and take our places in praying through everything God desires for Israel - plans for good and not for evil, to give a future and a hope.
Israelprayer Notice: You may have been reading in sources that you consider reliable, about a "Karduri revival". We want to put you on notice that there is no such thing and the Israeli person who is most attributed with making this claim is someone you would be wise to be exercise great caution with.
Certainly the Israeli people are becoming more open to the gospel, we can assure you that this openness is in no way tied to the popular stories you may be hearing about the now deceased ultra-Orthodox mystic rabbi Kaduri. Some Christians like this story because it tickles their ears to hear about rabbis coming to the knowledge of Yeshua as the Messiah. Yeshua Himself said that the it would be the prostitutes and the tax collectors who would enter the kingdom of Heaven before the religious. Not that the religious will not enter, but if you say you have a heart for Israel's salvation, you better get your eyes off the rabbis and on to the regular people of Israel who have a better heart grasp of their own need for being saved from themselves.
It is with no joy that I issue this caution. My experience is that the people who are following these claims and this man, do not want to know the truth. I hope that is no one on my Israelprayer list.

Strategically Aimed for the Lord's Harvest in Israel
Israel Pochtar begins our Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries with a follow up report on a recent outreach where more than 600 non-believers were transported in 14 buses to Jerusalem for a worship concert, a message of salvation delivered by pastor Pochtar and a tour of the biblical sites around Jerusalem. They write that a great number of "the people who attended the meeting responded to the altar call with tears in their eyes and gave their lives to Yeshua! Thank you Lord!"
Pochtar writes, "But this is just the beginning! Now we are planning to proceed with effective follow-up action. This will entail conducting an Alpha and discipleship course for all new believers to lay a solid foundation and to strengthen them in their faith; the provision of study materials, Bibles and books; and conducting regular follow-up sessions and additional Bible courses to further equip these dear ones. Please continue standing with us in prayer for these new believers and we'll be sure to keep you updated!"
From Revive Israel comes this invitation to join their live stream Shavuot/Pentecost annual prayer event from Jerusalem on May 23, 2015 from 10pm Israeli time. The all-night prayer event will continue for 8 hours as the worldwide body unites with the prayers ascending from Jerusalem for God to pour out His Spirit on all flesh in the end times. (Acts 2:17-21). We will continue to remind of this event and on the day of it, to join the live web-stream all you have to do is go to reviveisrael.org at the time of the event.
Asher Intrater also sends a great teaching on Daniel's Prophecies. He writes, "In terms of the progressive revelation of the Israelite prophets, Daniel represents the most advanced stage. His vision of the coming Messiah prepared the way for the Gospel; his visions of the end times provide the background and context for the book of Revelation."

Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem writes about the stormy coalition government negotiations and the fact that PM Netanyahu has been granted two more weeks to form his government. Martin writes, "The past four weeks of negotiations have been stormy. Unfortunately, in the barterings and secret dealings involved with bringing together a government from such disparate groups, truth and honesty themselves often become 'negotiable'. Throughout the negotiations (and this is no exception) it is not uncommon for there to be accusations and counter-accusations of lies and lack of good-faith. As with the foundation of God's own throne (see Psalm 89:14), the seat of a truly sound government must have righteousness and justice as a base, and for it to stand and be trusted there must from the start issue forth a character of kindness and truth."
Sarvis offers these prayer points:
Pray that Benyamin Netanyahu will move in cleanness and integrity in choosing his coalition. There were promises made before the elections-those should be kept, whatever the unexpectedly different 'realities' after the votes were cast;
that he will resist and reject the temptation to seek refuge in a 'different word.' That "justice will be the measuring line and righteousness the level, and that all refuge for lies will be swept away"; that "secret places" of falseness in any of the parties considered for making up the coalition will be overflown and exposed;
That God will grant Israel a government of strength and integrity to lead His people in the days ahead."
Dugit Coffeehouse writes, "Last month Avi spoke at a missions conference in Nashville, IN. All of the sessions were great, but the Sunday morning session was especially powerful. Many in the conference were deeply touched as Avi shared from Acts 10 and Isaiah 19."
Guy Cohen of the Harvest of Asher congregation in Acco was also drawn to what Yeshua had to say in Matthew 24 about the End Times. He writes his reflections on those words and the times we are living in, including the loss last summer in the war with Gaza, of Messianic Jewish soldier, Shai. Speaking from the heart Guy admits, "Up until that happened I personally believed that we are protected from the assault of the enemy and that nothing can harm us. Now after losing Shai, I can see that rockets and missiles affect everyone; those who believe in Yeshua and those who do not, Jews who believe in Yeshua and Jews who do not and soldiers who believe in Yeshua as well as soldiers who do not."
You can read his full commentary inside the subscription only DOCX Weekly Summary but we just want to encourage all of you not to assume your prayers are not needed for covering all of the believers in Israel. As Guy writes, "Personally I believe we are supposed to be here on earth to walk shoulder to shoulder with non-believers in order to be the light of God." The enemy of our souls would like to destroy those who carry the gospel, but also Solomon wrote in Eccl 9:11 "time and chance happens to them all". Sometimes bad things befall godly people. We must pray to limit that which can be held back.
"…. BUT we also have a deadly enemy within the very fabric of Israeli society, namely our rebellious nature as a nation towards God and the ways of His Kingdom. All-too-often, intercessors from the nations focus attention on Israel's enemies beyond our borders and are reluctant to address the steadily weakening moral structure of our nation. We understand the reluctance, or even fear of bringing any form of criticism against Israel, lest it be misconstrued as anti-Semitic. We must be sensitive of course, but not at the cost of losing 'our prophetic voice' to our own people. Please include these issues in your prayer watches."
Some key intercessory points Evan specifies to pray over:
a) The accelerating moral degradation of society (this includes the ever-increasing power of the Gay-rights movement)
b) Widespread corruption at the highest levels of government
c) Widespread greed within property markets causing intolerable housing costs
d) An endemic cultural characteristic of self-entitlement that is evident in both Israeli Jewish and Arab communities. This problem also deeply affects the Believing communities in both sectors
Awake Israel Ministries in Rishon le Zion - Shlomy and Miriam Abramov - report that their aid center for the poor is doing extremely well, with more new families and needy coming each week. They write, "Obtaining goods at no cost is unheard of in Israel. We give freely as we receive. Pray they know the one who gave his life at no cost to save their souls. Friendships are being cultivated and God's love is evident to the community." Of course, when the love of Yeshua is winning friends, it also draws the enemies of the gospel which has come with a group of religious opposers who come to discourage participation at the aid center.
This has not slowed down the outreach of Awake Israel who are also conducting day trip biblical tours to reach Israelis with the good news about Yeshua Messiah. They also were able to give 448 blankets to an institute for the blind over the Passover holiday. Orna Greenman of A Sign and A Wonder ministry to orphans, widows and single parents in the Body in Israel, is one of those that Evan Thomas referenced who are not 100% thrilled with the re-election of Netanyahu. She writes, "I know just how much those lovers of Israel outside of the holy land admire our prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. In some respects, he indeed deserves it. He is a brilliant man, who well understands the signs of times and is very knowledgeable in the machinations of terror. He loves the Old Testament and spends hours each Shabbat studying it. That, in and of itself, is touching."
"But," Orna writes, "his policy revolves not just around external and defense issues. It is comprised of other aspects as well, and these areas suffer from some serious flaws for which we are paying a very high price as a nation." Orna provides an explanation of the issues that she notes is a grim picture such as the disgrace of the lack of care for Holocaust survivors within Israel. The prayer point highlights from Orna are to pray:
- For our leadership: Benjamin Netanyahu and the Ministers he is choosing these days for his new government. Ask God to soften their hearts, to fill them with compassion and make them feel they are on a mission to bring historical justice by allowing these people not only to die with honor but to live in honor as well in the short time they still have.
- For the survivors: salvation, of course, as well as healing. . . .I find it extremely hard to think that some of them might actually find themselves in eternal hell.
- For the entire nation: we are not quick to make the connection between our security battle and our walk, or lack of it, in God's ways. Pray that God will open our eyes and help us understand that He insists we act justly if we seek true peace.
