Without a doubt, the Islamic terror attacks in France that has dominated the headlines since the first attack on a French satirical newspaper on January 7^th, then on the 9^th followed by the attack on a Parisian Jewish supermarket is a news story with powerful spiritual ramifications.  This week we have several insightful perspectives from Israeli ministries – which is what we need:  the spiritual perspective on any news stories like this.  The news media to varying degrees report the facts – although some are only communicating a narrative, not facts. 

The value of spiritual perspective cannot be under-valued here.  Which is why I am glad to refer you to read inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary to get a greater understanding of what is going on. 

While the world might take comfort in seeing a united front as international leaders locked arms in the Paris march against Islamist terror, when it comes to actual change and not just feel good photo op moments, don’t expect much.  Inside you will read about the growing unease of Jews in France as they have become more endangered by French multiculturalism. 

Fighting radical Islam in the nations requires a turnaround of honesty about Israel’s fight with radical Islam in its nation.  The nations fool themselves thinking that they can be dishonest in what they expect from Israel, and it not affect their own internal national battle against occupying forces of Islamists.  Our nations are hanging in the balance, and it is time for us to see the truth.

Arrows from Zion Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Already the plan for quite a few months, Carolyn and Richard Hyde are about to embark on a ministry trip to Paris to raise up French-speaking believers who will become fishermen to help bring the Jewish people home to Israel.  They will also visit synagogues and encourage French Jews to make Aliyah (immigration to Israel).   Carolyn relates several dreams she had about going to France, the intense warfare that would surround the trip and a warning to stay out of the far northern area of Pais (which she has learned since is primarily Muslim).

The Hydes also shared an article which ran in the Jerusalem Post this week in which the Jewish Agency’s Natan Sharansky revealed that 50,000 French Jews, mostly from the Paris area, inquired about how to immigrate to Israel in 2014.  That is a strong indication that God is calling the Jews out of France in order to preserve them. 

Martin Sarvis, a worship and prayer leader in Israel, also referred to the same article, noting, “One young rabbi told the paper he didn’t know if he would re-open his synagogue, ‘It’s not even panic, it’s worse.  The people of the community do not dare leave their homes.’ Jews’ fear is ‘palpable’ following France terror attacks

“The previous week, France’ Prime Minister Manuel Valls had, in an interview for The Atlantic, passionately voiced a sentiment  held by many French citizens, “Were 100,000 French people of Spanish origin to leave, I would never say that France is not France anymore.  But if 100,000 Jews leave, France will no longer be France.  The French Republic will be judged a failure.  He stressed that the French Republic was founded on equal rights being extended to Jews, but how this is now being threatened by an influx of Muslim immigrants bearing a kind of anti-Semitism different than that experienced in the past.”  [italics added by Israelprayer]

Sarvis writes, “It is painful, but we believe necessary, for us to suggest that the government of France may have itself very recently opened up a breach in the spiritual protection over its nation. It was only a week and a day before last week’s carnage began to be unleashed, that France's member in the UN Security Council was instructed to cast a vote in favour of a resolution which, among other things, would have effectively forced Israel, with or without further negotiations, to completely withdraw from Judea and Samaria by the end of 2017, relinquishing all the lands captured from Jordan in 1967 to a newly established Palestinian state with eastern Jerusalem as its capital.  In the event, the resolution failed by one vote when Nigeria at the last minute unexpectedly chose to abstain (The only countries to vote No were the United States and Australia).” 

The U.S. has its own problems with these events, for example failing to stand with other world leaders in at least the appearance of opposition to radical Islam.  However, the sad fact is the current American administration is in lock-step with UN thinking which opposes acknowledging that radical Islam is a global problem, and insisting that terrorist attacks be handled as separate criminal acts.  What we call Wack-a-mole.  This presidential stance will also lead the U.S. into suffering great consequences for its hypocrisy. 

But, as Calev Myers of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice said in an IBA interview, France may be the 1st nation to fall to Islamic conquest.  You can WATCH IBA interview here.   There are many nations in danger of capitulation to political Islam, including my own. We need to pray for our nations, that God will continue to restrain to full brunt of radical Islam from being unleashed on us. Like Abraham prayed for Sodom – for the sake of the righteous within.

Howard Bass, from another exceptionally cold winter in Beer Sheva, writes with a link to a “45-min video by Dr. Bill Warner, giving a fascinating, eye-opening overview of Islamic history and its fruit.  It is very relevant to our lives and interaction here in Israel, both surrounded and 'infiltrated' by the Islamic jihad (holy war) spirit, and also in how it affects our relations and interactions even within the Body of Messiah, especially between those are engaged in various reconciliation ministries and 'life-styles' with Arab believers. Although not officially dhimmis, they live as if they are.  So, too, are most of the Western governments and people in the face of the jihad onslaught.  This is the accumulative effect of Islam over the 1400 centuries of their on-going conquest.”

Our nations are being led by the spiritual blind leading the factually, or informationally blind.  Leaders are supposed to invest themselves in knowing the facts, the truth, so they can lead their people.  When this leadership fails, then it is up to spiritual people to arm themselves with the facts and the truth – praying and also teaching others.    These reports inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary will arm you with what you need to stand on the LORD’s side of the issues.

As Howard Bass writes, “I believe that God will use it to bring more Jewish people home to Israel -- not so much by fisherman, but through the hunters.  And, we pray, that more Christians will look to the Lord to intervene to wake up the Body of Messiah, who are being lured into greater silence and muddled thinking.”

Asking prayer for the Beer Sheva congregation, Bass writes, “Please pray with us for more, suitable Shabbat school teachers for the children; and the Holy Spirit to do a deep work towards answering the Lord's prayer for our love and unity for one another as a testimony of who Yeshua is.”

A couple of weeks ago we recommended an article from Rick Ridings of Succat Hallel in Jerusalem relating a vision he had, The Temple Mount, A Menacing Dragon, and A Season of Increasing Shakings. 

Inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary we have a second vision, Another Vision of a Dragon, the Temple Mount, and the Nations by Rick Ridings.  This vision is very much in line with the facts and perspectives we have shared with you about what is going on in the nations of the world and how it relates to Israel.  Encouraging all to read and pray about it.

Ridings confides, “I believe it is significant that some nations, such as France, almost ignored or justified terror acts in October in Jerusalem (such as driving a car into an innocent group of people), and are now experiencing those same things in their nation.” 

From Eitan Shishkoff, who turns 67 in a couple of weeks, comes a good word not to resist change but to embrace it!  We are to be transformed in the likeness of Messiah, and that means change.  Eitan writes, “The change He brought in my life was radical.  It was not without cost.  Nor was it immediate. Yet it has been a lifetime journey of incomparable reward.  To be clay in the Potter's hands is - the  BEST!  I never want to lack that drive to change.  There were things about yesterday and last year, that I didn't like, don't feel good about.  I fell short.  I want to be different, more like Him.  That's why the shift of one digit on the calendar signals "fresh start" in my brain.  2014 was hard, even tragic. It was also good in many ways. But what about 2015?  How is the Master speaking to me on the inside?  How would He like to collaborate with me to bring further transformation of who I am? These questions energize me.  I want to embrace the process of being changed.”  Yes and amen!  Inspiring.

“While still a 1960's revolutionary I came to a "duh!" conclusion,” he continues. “I could not change the world around me without becoming a different person myself.  That is still true 50 years later.  In order to grapple with the misery, fear, grief, woundedness, and injustice that surrounds us we must become increasingly conformed to the image of our Redeemer.  To bring revolution I must be revolutionized.”

Prayer points from the Tents of Mercy congregation include several for healing: David for six broken ribs; Rachel’s granddaughter Hadas who has been diagnosed with cancer; Volodya whose urgent need for open heart surgery has his life hanging in the balance.  Leah C continues to improve and prayers requested for full healing for her, as well.

Ronit Bender, who is marking the one year anniversary of her husband, Tom’s passing, is also in need of continued prayers for healing.  She was admitted with suspected ruptured appendix but it turned out to be severe Diverticulitis.  She had had a drain in her back for 6 weeks to help extract toxins and says the pain is relentless.  Please pray for Ronit’s full recovery, and after this very hard year that God would grant her relief and renewal in 2015.

From the Anonai Roi congregation in Tel Aviv, Chaya Mizrachi will join together with Palestinian Christian Rania Sayegh, the director of Hope in Nazareth, for an even called the Gathering on Feb 6-7.  “The heart of this event is to create a space where Jewish and Arab women can come together as a family in a relationship of love and prayer.   This special gathering is by invitation only and seeks to be a blessing by providing full scholarships to every woman that desires to attend.  We ask that you join with us in prayer for this event, that the hearts of the women would be impacted by the love of Yeshua.  If you are interested in supporting the scholarship fund for this event, please click here and select ‘Special Projects’ on the drop down menu on the donations page.”

On a Personal Note  On February 4^th my husband, Tony, will be having joint fusion back surgery

to relieve extreme pain from a degenerative back disease he has had for 50 years. Praise the Lord that now there is a surgery that can bring him relief!  Tony is 71 and social security health care is covering the big chunks, but we have discovered that our output for co-pays on all the pre-op testing, including a nuclear stress test since he can’t do the treadmill type, is making financial demands we had not foreseen.  Some of you may know that even at 71, Tony still has a custom cabinet making business to keep us afloat financially. 

So, I am requesting first of prayers for Tony’s surgery, quick hospital stay and quick recovery time. Also some of the issues with keeping his business operation will be straightened out.
