Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel
David Davis of the Carmel Assembly in Haifa writes about the intensifying internal and external threats: First, the internal threat to Israel Messianic Jews by ultra-orthodox, anti-messiah activists who have been sending a slick monthly magazine to Messianic congregational leaders and members homes across the land. The message is: We know where you live! After the 2008 package bomb that was left at the doorstep of an Israeli Messianic family that blew up in the hands of their 15-year old son (who was miraculously spared death but not massive physical harm), this is a most unwelcome message. Pray for the Messianic Body in Israel – that the attempts to intimidate through fear of what the next escalation will be.
Davis notes that one of their Carmel ministry team has been specifically targeted, and that there also have been incidents of visitors to the congregation being denied entrance to Israel at the airport and sent back to their home countries. The illegal interaction between government bureaus and the anti-missionary activists is pretty clear. Davis writes, Please pray with us against this demonic, religious spirit that is behind these attacks on the Lord’s body in Israel. Truly our struggle is not against “flesh and blood” but rather “against principalities, against powers…in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12-13).
Davis also notes the aggressive pressure “to accept the American political agenda as the solution for an
Israeli-PLO peace agreement.” The
current American administration does not care about its own people, much less
Israelis, which is why SoS John Kerry has no problem making veiled threats
against Israelis warning of a third intifada and international boycotts if
Israel does not go along to get along.
Davis urges that Israeli Messianics and the international Church that
loves Israel to take up the spiritual power and authority to pray with holy
boldness -

The mosque is being funded by the Islamic Republic of Chechnya in a historically Jewish-friendly Arab village just six miles from Jerusalem. Martin looks at the spiritual significance of this and the potential impact in changing the future spiritual environment of the Abu Ghosh citizens.
Those in the international church should be well aware
of how the radical streams of Islam are exporting their teachings by raising up
mega-mosques in the nations. The line
from the baseball movie Field of Dreams
is “If you build it they will come.”
This is exactly what is in play here as in the advance of Islamists
(“stealth jihad”) in the nations calls for building massive mosques in areas
that do not have the Muslim population to support it, not only do Muslims move
to that area because of the mosque, but the very spiritual environment changes
as the spirits of Islam also have a stake in the ground.
Martin writes of the 4-mineret mosque of Abu Ghosh: “We are not here suggesting that Islamic minarets in Israel should be cut down. But we are saying that their prevalence in a place strengthens the power of the spirits they represent. We believe this to be the real reason that there is such a push for their proliferation in countries where their masters seek to gain control. The author remembers being told, while in Istanbul 20 years ago, that there was literally a push to have a minaret raised on every city block in the city. That nation is now under its first Islamist leader in almost a century. We suspect this to be the real reason why the Kingdom of Jordan periodically seeks to gain Israeli approval for a "fifth" minaret to be raised over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (reportedly over the Eastern Gate). There would then be over the most holy place on earth, a network of minarets representatives of the "Five Pillars of Islam". The breach in the heavenlies were this to happen is difficult to imagine. We believe that the raising of this enormous 4-towered mosque in Abu Ghosh may represent a spiritual conspiracy for the establishment of a new key stronghold of darkness in the "mountains surrounding Jerusalem."”
From time to time Christians ask me why I do not promote efforts within Israel to bring the ownership of the Temple Mount to a head by groups like the Temple Mount Faithful or other similar groups. The reason is simple: that is a work of the flesh that would lead to so much blood and lost life that it is unconscionable to support. God s well able to exercise HIS ownership of the Temple Mount and He will exercise it in His own time. To me, this effort is like Judas, who apparently wanted to force Yeshua’s hand in taking His throne as Messiah.
God has His own timing, so we must leave certain things to the timing of God to do. But, the war in the heavenlies is increasing – over the town of Abu Ghosh and over the regions were mega-mosques are being raised. There are legal means to pursue in limiting these Islamist stakes being planted into the ground, and there are spiritual weapons of warfare. Nothing – absolutely nothing – changes the spirits over a city or region, like its citizens coming to the knowledge of the Son God. This is the first line of spiritual warfare for Abu Ghosh or any region that is seeing the rise of Islamist spirits.

A case in point is the ministry letter for Israel
Pochtar this week who is the pastor of Beit Hallel in Ashdod, a congregation
that has been targeted in recent years for anti-missionary activity. Pochtar writes about how productive their
Gospel Tours project has been, giving biblical tours to Israeli citizens. Pochtar
ministers in large part to Russian-Israelis and one recent immigrant who had
come to Israel specifically for medical help – given only 6 months to live with
stage 4 skin cancer – went on the Gospel Tour, got saved and when he returned
to the doctor found out that he has also been completely healed of cancer
(before he was able to receive any medical treatment in Israel).
Let’s have an EXPECTATION to hear of increasing signs, wonders and new salvations among the Jews of Israel – which in itself will become a sign and wonder to the world, as it is written in Isaiah 8:18: “Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given Me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of armies, which dwells in mount Zion.

generally leads the Church to ignore the believers in the Land. It is called, “Israel, the Land in Controversy” and it is available on Amazon and

At the Tel Aviv Tiferet Yeshua congregation where Ron Cantor leaders
the ministry team and Asher Intrater serves as the apostolic overseer, the need
has been c alled out for help in transforming their facilities so it is
possible for the ministry staff to work from that office (instead of out of
their own homes). This is a real key in
solidifying the team unit by working together.
To do this the space must be made over – cleaned, well-light and
inviting. Same for the guest reception
area they are wanting to renovate. Total
investment in the projects is $20,000.
If you can sow into this need, this is a solid congregation seeing good fruit.
Asher Intrater’s Revive Israel talks about the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus which hosted its 8th Annual “Night to Honor our Christian Allies” in Jerusalem. Among those honored, Gabriel Nadaf, a Greek Orthodox, Israeli Arab priest from Nazareth, who encourages the integration of Arab Christians into Israeli society, received an award. President of Aglow International, Jane Hansen Hoyt, was honored by the caucus and by the Ministry of Tourism. Jane said, "There seems to be a growing awareness that Christians are their friends." Jurgen Buhler, director of the International Christian Embassy, told his personal testimony of his family's encounter with the Holocaust. The moving story brought many in the room to tears.

From Arad, Lura and Eddie Beckford write about changes afoot in Arad as
the ultra-Orthodox who have been such blatant persecutors of the local
believers that they have stirred up secular citizens demanding they be reined
in! Praise the LORD! New city elections
saw the same old mayor voted in but an entirely new council made up of people
who were demonstrating against the ultra-Orthodox obnoxious behavior. This is a balance of power that can lead to
more peace for the believers in Arad.
There are also new beginnings in the Hebrew congregation in Arad as the
former pastor, Yo-Yakim Figeuras becomes one of a team of elders over the
congregation, in order that he may invest more into the youth. This restructuring, it is hoped, will bring
out more leadership stepping up to ministry.
As for Eddie and Lura, their house continues to be a hub of ministry
activities with the Russian congregation meeting there as well as the Hebrew
congregation youth. The Beckford’s have
started a new Bible Discussion group, weekly Young People’s Chess Club, and
Lura has started a cooking committee to teach about cooking healthy. Read more about how Arad believers are stretching

He notes, “Israel was never known for its natural resources. Israel was known for its supernatural resources. . . . As you pray for Israel, please pray that Israel's supernatural resources will be revealed, pray that The Messiah will be Israel's only hope and pray that through nature, God's eternal power will be visible.”

Carolyn and Richard Hyde of Heart of God Ministries report, “several thousand Supernatural or Just Remarkable booklets have been distributed in Hebrew and Russian in Israel, sparking numerous fruitful conversations about G-d and Yeshua. We also had about 12,000 Israelis who viewed our evangelistic videos last month - praise G-d! However, only a small portion actually contacted us in a way we could continue to interact with them. This, along with other reasons, led us to realize that we need to ‘mend our nets’ (rebuild our website) so that we can more effectively ‘catch the fish’. The goal is to create three websites that are all focused on impacting non-believing Israelis with the truth, then starting conversations about G-d with them (through live chat, phone calls, in-person meetings, etc. . . . L-rd-willing, we'll also create an evangelistic video series based on each of the booklets, with the potential to reach tens of thousands of Israelis with the Gospel. Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli
believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:
- Brian Slater’s wife Racheli has suffered a broken hip/Femural Neck Fracture from a fall in their home. She will be on crutches for two months. Appreciate prayers.
- Four elder ministry leaders in Israel, are dealing with Parkinson’s which is a neurological syndrome. Since they have not shared this information, I will just ask for you to please pray for them each to be able to continue to live normal lives, and for the hand of the LORD to bless them with healing.
- Harvest of Asher Continued prayer for Elena’s recovery from cancer, also for her mother’s recovery from surgery and for Elena’s daughter who is taking care of them all. Please pray for a 11-yr old autistic boy who functions at a high level, but has declined emotionally with a change in schools this year. Pray for Marina & her daughter suffering from a genetic hearing disease.
- Please pray for the wife of Ariel Ben David, who leads an Eilat Congregation, and also for his worship leader, both of whom were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Pray for Ami Ortiz for ongoing issues from the 2008 bomb blast – and that he would win the appeal for government recognition that he is a terror victim. It would mean benefits for the continuing surgeries and legal expenses. See Leah’s report on their website of the latest round of laser surgeries on Ami’s scarring in this issue.
