This week when I started compiling the Israel Prayer Summaries I began by moving the special section for prayer requests about urgent health needs ahead of the other prayer requests. The reason was already having read two updates that came in – the one on Tom in Carmel is especially urgent. After the passing of Katya Morrison who was on the list for so long, the urgency of intercession for Tom pressing on us. Also, the Klein’s update on serious injuries sustained by their team – one in Iowa and one in Germany – also hit home as I have also spent the last half of this year taking care of my sister whose leg was seriously fractured.
Now as I prepare to edit down the Summary into the Arrows from Zion brief, I am reminded that because of how the United States is being thrown into a serious health care crisis, there may be many in our immediate future with serious needs for healing and no access to the health care they need.

Are we ready for that? Do we have sufficient compassion for what
people in such a situation are going through – the anxieties, fear, challenges
or pain? Therefore, let us pray for
these urgent healing needs – and pray that God will make our faith and our
compassion to rise to be like Yeshua, “And Yeshua went forth, and saw a
great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and
He healed their sick.”

wife, Ronit asked us to please request Israelprayer
intercessors to please increase their prayers “for my Tom who is in the battle
of his life.” . . . . from a natural
point of view, his present health status is not very encouraging. Spiritually,
however, my sweet husband is full of faith. . . . A miracle can still happen,
so we ask that you continue to bring us both before the Throne Room of Grace.
Pray that the tumor will shrink and die.

Update from the Kleins of Emmaus Way: Becky’s husband Keith was in a motorcycle
accident and suffered serious spinal injury, which has so far left him
paralyzed from the waist down. Around
the same time, Hannah suffered a serious waterskiing accident in the course of
ministering to a youth group, which tore three hamstring tendons in her right
leg, requiring surgery. They need
continued prayer which you can read more details inside the subscription-only Weekly
Summary.

Brian Slater writes about the outreach they are doing in Netanya to provide food, clothing, and other donated items to the poor in their city. Among those poor are many Holocaust survivors that the Messianic community comes to the aid of throughout Israel. Brian is especially asking prayer for new long and short volunteers to help in the various ministry outreaches they do since they are about to lose some long term volunteers that have been a great blessing. These volunteers were Russian-speakers which is a great plus in the communicating with those who come for food and oftentimes ask for pray for health issues. If any of you are interested in serving, this ministry is interested in hearing from you.
Brian notes that one of the most requested prayers
among the Russian Jewish immigrants is prayer for cancers. Pray that God would answer the prayers of
these with various cancers. He is also
seeking housing and discipling for two victims of sexual abuse. And he asks prayers for many of the people
who have come to faith in Yeshua over the past year.
Brian included this notice from the Israeli news: “A silent tsunami is washing away the safety
net that protects poor people in Israel. With the June 2013 budget cuts in
place, 50,000 more children and 20,000 more elderly people will be living below
the poverty line. Government subsidies for those who qualify for welfare
assistance were slashed by 75%. And indeed, the children have been hit the
hardest. A staggering 40% of Israeli children have now fallen below the poverty
line and countless others are hovering just above it, according to a report
released this October by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics.” Please join with us to spread blessings of
essential aid to needy families within Israel. We can’t do it without you.
Howard Bass, who is on his way to the U.K. for a Prayer for Israel conference in Derbyshire, gave us an update on the current Jews for Jesus evangelism campaign in the Negev. They were all very encouraged by the reports being brought from the field but also noted that out of the 8 campaigns JIJ has conducted over the years, this one is #2 or 3 on the intensity scale of opposition against them. David and Leah Ortiz from Ariel are serving as the JIJ team chaplains. David told Howard that one of the JIJ ladies was spat on by a religious man at one of the shopping centers, but the woman said of the incident that she always shines for Jesus!
Pray for C, a refugee who is a gifted evangelist going out to the
Muslim refugees. We cannot share more
publicly, but you can look in the attached Weekly Summary for more details in
Howard’s report.
Asher Intrater’s prayer requests this week are for the over 300
Israelis, both secular and religious, who visited the open house at Rachel's
Bet Netanel outreach center this week; that the revelation of the love of God
through Yeshua would grow in their hearts.
For Yad Hashmona for the completion of the current housing project and
wisdom for the architectural plans for the public facilities buildings on the
Moshav (Kibbutz). And for the Jerusalem Ahavat Yeshua
congregation – making 2 more baby dedications this month - for the upcoming
congregational meeting to discuss vision, finances and membership guidelines.
Revive Israel also included two teachings which are featured below in
the Teaching Articles section, and a report on the new exhibition at the Bible
Lands Museum. The advertisements say: "The Book of Books – the Tanakh and
New Covenant." The Jerusalem Post reports that the exhibition contains
more than 200 of the rarest biblical manuscripts, including original fragments
from the Septuagint and the earliest New Testament Scriptures. The museum's curator, emphasizes that
Christianity and Judaism are "so interconnected, they cannot be
separated." They share a theological source and "come from the same
geographical point, which is the land of Israel."
A recent Pew poll of Jewish American views published significant findings recently. One of the most surprising is that 34 percent said you could still be Jewish if you believe that Jesus was the Messiah. The survey indicated that 1.7 million (American) Jewish people identify themselves as believers in Jesus.
Carolyn and Richard Hyde send reports out of Zion of
Divine appointments they have had with Orthodox people who have been open to
hear their witness of the Messiah. One
of the recent Divine appointments included singing at a club and reception
which a man happened to be walking past and came in to see who was singing. A few days later the man was elected the new
major of the town which shall remain nameless in public – but you can read
about it inside the subscription-only Weekly Summary – and pray for this new Israeli mayor that
he will be favorable to the believers, and that God will favor him with a
revelation of Yeshua!
The Hydes have been passing out many of the Hebrew
booklets that Richard and their son Ariel wrote, “Supernatural or Just
Remarkable” to native Israelis believers who are giving the booklets to their
friends and loved ones.
Joel
Jelski gives another report of the Pro-Life prayer meeting in October which was
attended by believers from all over the country. Joel, who led worship and prayer for the
event says: It was significant since on that very morning a law was proposed
to legalize abortion completely, allowing 100% of women requesting abortions to
have it for free (96% of all requests are approved by committees, but they are
only half of all abortions done in Israel. The other half are illegal). God
knew what was happening, and wanted us there that day, together with about 400
people to repent, pray, and intercede over this issue.
He also notes that Succat Hallel, the 24/7 prayer and worship house in Jerusalem has moved to a new location – a little smaller but “We are believing this is the beginning of a transition in Succat Hallel, believing that soon the Lord will begin to bring more young local Israelis and Arabs into the house of prayer. The new building overlooks Mt. Zion, the Mt. of Olives, and the Temple mount.”
Ye’shi (Jesse) Reinhardt also speaks this week about their ministry to
Holocaust survivors. They were able to
deliver 500 packages of adult diapers that were much needed in the House for
Holocaust Survivors in Haifa. Read more

Maybe you heard about the news reports from Israel about a young Messianic girl who shocked customs officials at Ben Gurion Airport by returning to pay taxes on a phone she had managed to get past authorities a week earlier. The chief customs officer was deeply moved by her regret at not paying the tax and the officials were so stunned they called reporters with the story. David Lazarus who leads the Beit Immanuel congregation in Old Jaffa tells the story of this young lady who attends his congregation. This is yet another reason why Messianic Jews are getting such a good reputation throughout Israel. Read the report inside the attached Weekly Summary.

Zechariah 12:12, 14 - The family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Nathan by itself and their wives by themselves… all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves.
It is interesting that the ultra-Orthodox religious
sects in the greater Jerusalem area are divided into separate
"courts" or sub-communities; and that these sects are requiring ever
more extreme measures concerning separation between men and women from an early
age--in schools, synagogues and the marketplace.
Is it possible that the separation of men and women,
the mourning, and the last minute repentance could be applicable to the
different sects of ultra-Orthodox Judaism, living around Jerusalem today?

Praying the Headlines
The Caspari Media Review features a Jerusalem Report article about Josh Reinstein, the organizer of the Israeli Knesset Christian Allies Caucas. While the article speaks to how Reinstein has developed a strong pro-Israel Christian political alliance, Israelprayer would like to point out that statements over the years about the KCAC bars any affiliation with Christian groups that support evangelizing Jews and in Reinstein’s own words, KCAC “refuses to work with the messianic Jewish community on the grounds that it actively seeks to convert Jews. ‘We believe they work against the interests of the State of Israel.”
For many years these Christian groups connected with the Caucus have held back the criticism that it was acceptable because they were doing so much good for Christian and Israeli relations.
Last week however, when the uproar ignited over former President George W. Bush being the keynote speaker at the annual Dallas fundraiser of the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute, a local reporter covering the story reported that pro-Israel Christian groups were voicing their opposition. If that is so – and I’m still trying to get the news station or reporter to name names if accurate – then the compromise of the faith of Messianic Jews by pro-Israel Christians has sunk to a new low and must be addressed.
