No matter what is going on in the world, whether it is good times or whether it is hard times, we can know for sure that we are being swept with the force of history into the times of Yeshua’s kingdom. It is easy to become distressed over what is happening on the world stage, which is all the more reason for us to keep ourselves focused on our Father’s business. We keeping working while it is day.

An Apology is Due
Last week I ran an excerpt from an Israeli ministry, David Silver, which I mostly agree with about Replacement theology and the problems of that in the Christian world. However, when it came to naming names, I will admit that I did not follow my better instincts to edit out those names. The reason I did not edit the names was because the action Silver called for was non-condemning: it was a call to pray for those named and to send them positive articles about Israel.
However, just being lumped into the same group as if there were no difference in how the various leaders viewed the issues I certainly failed to take into account. It is no excuse for having failed to make the right edit call, but I am not heavily informed in the various movements within Palestinian Christian circles to be able to immediately recognize which persons are involved in genuine reconciliation efforts with their Messianic brothers and which are merely siding with the anti-Israel/Jewish propaganda that figures like Rev Stephen Sizer put out.
So I owe these men a public apology which I hope they will accept: Salim Munyar, Jack Sara and Alex Awad. These brothers did not deserve to be lumped together with Rev. Sizer, or Ateek and the Sabeel followers.
I would like everyone to know that I stand fully behind the reconciliation efforts between the Messianic Jews and Palestinian Christians in Israel. I believe reconciliation of these two groups is one of the greatest testimonies of the power of Yeshua in our lives. But it is not easy to bridge these gaps, it is hard work and not the slam dunk that many pro-Israel Christians and some Messianics not involved in the effort seem to think it is. have a new project called The Whole Story Project that is a series of short
films addressing key issues involving Israel and the Middle East. Watch

Reports from the many gatherings during the High Holy
Days continue to come in, this one from David and Karen Davis of the Carmel
Assembly in Haifa. During the worship watch on the last day of the Feast of
Tabernacles gathering, “The presence of
the Lord was so strong in the sanctuary that one Israeli visitor had a vision
of an open heaven and asked to pray to receive Yeshua!”
The Davis’ ask: Please stand with us in prayer that as we
continue to be “built together [Jews and Gentiles] for a dwelling place of God
in the Spirit” (Eph. 2:22) He will open the hearts of many more Israelis to
recognize and receive their Messiah in the coming months.
Their congregation has also been involved with hosting hundreds of Chinese believers during the Holy Days. They report: “For those of us in the body of Messiah here in the Land, this is a wonderful encouragement, particularly in light of the prevalence of replacement theology and rising Christian anti-Semitism in much of the Western church. Many Chinese believers travel here sacrificially, even selling their furniture to raise money for their plane tickets!” Read more inside the attached Weekly Summary where there are also other specific prayer points for this ministry.

This week we also have an annual overview of
the Beit Immanuel Congregation in Jaffa which is led by David & Michaella
Lazarus. These are the types of
overviews that can help the international church understand why it is so
important to support the Israeli ministries because these are where individuals
and families are equipped for the ministry of living a life that is a great
testimony to Israel of Yeshua’s followers.
Please read how family-oriented Beit Immanuel is in its vision and what
it is doing to strength its members in sound biblical living. You will also find the areas of outreach Beit
Immanuel does, which are great prayer points, too.
From the Beer Sheva and Tel Aviv ministries of
Dov Bikas, Aviv Ministry, are reports on their outreach work to addicts and the
homeless, and also evangelism. Bikas
shares how a few weeks ago their 25-year old rehab manager in Beer Sheva,
himself a former addict, preached a full sermon for the Shabbat service. Bikas says Igor’s message was “with very
important and profound ideas. We praise God for this young leader who is so
gifted and fervent in his faith and ministry.”
This is what ministry is all about! Taken the broken lives, restoring
them in Messiah and seeing them become ministers seeking the lost and broken
for Yeshua.
Dov writes, “We feel, however, like the widow
Elisha the prophet was helping in 2 Kings 4 − the more jars we put under the
running oil – the more of them will be filled. The more we work and the more
centers we open – the more people will come to Jesus and will become living
testimonies of His love and glory. Please pray for our work and also for our
future plans (that may become a reality if we have sufficient funding). Pray
for the moving of Aviv Center to a larger place and opening a rehab for women,
one more rehab for men, a culturally-oriented rehab for Arabs and maybe even a
shelter for abused women and children. Each of these projects would cost
approximately $5,000 a month.”
In Netanya, Brian Slater of Yeshua’s Fresh
Bread in Israel, continues to do outreach to Holocaust survivors and other
needy citizens in the area. The soup
kitchen the operate has openings for volunteers who come from the nations –
many through Chosen People Ministries, which Brian is associated with. Slater also heads up the food and clothing
distribution centers. They do have a
need for a person or couple (volunteer) to take over managing their Volunteer
Ministry House. See inside the attached

Carolyn Hyde shares several encouraging
testimonies of the LORD’s provision in their lives and ministry. One is concerning the Prodigals Banner and
prayer for the return of the prodigal sons and daughters they have been doing
for some time. If you have ever had a
child that wandered away from the paths of the LORD, you will be encouraged to
know how this is a priority prayer vision the Hyde’s are carrying.
Richard and Carolyn will be returning to
Germany in December where they have an open door to minister in the public
school system. This has been a fruitful
area of ministry that is so worth praying over.
If you are coming to Israel, you and your group may have a lovely
evening in the Hyde’s home with a meal and time of worship, Israeli dancing and

Orna Greenman has a nice video explanation of her
ministry among Israeli widows and orphans as she walks them through the
Tabernacle to healing. Orna also sent a lengthy
teaching which I wish I had room enough to share, but since I don’t I encourage
you to email Orna asking for a
copy. Give her a little time to get back
to you since she is in the U.S. doing meetings over the next two weeks. Pray for this lady who is doing deep ministry
to the ‘widow’ and ‘orphan’ that many of us carry in our lives.
Howard Bass writes this week about a trek into
the Western Negev the Beer Sheva congregation took last Shabbat to visit two archeological
sites with Nabatean and Byzantine Christian histories. “These sites are Shivta (a surprisingly large
and well-excavated site) and Nizzana, situated on a hill overlooking a wide
expanse, serving as a community and as a fortress. Pau Figueras, the father of Yo-Yakim in Arad,
specializes in Christian archeology in the Negev, and still writing books, served
as our historian and guide.” Even
Israelis tour the sites in Israel – so rich is the history of the Land.
Howard also reminds of the national call to
prayer of the Messianic pro-Life movement in Israel. The acceptance and ease of abortion in Israel
is truly mind-boggling to many who expect it would be quite different from the
reality. The Nachalat Yeshua (Yeshua’s
Inheritance) congregation will be joining congregations from all over Israel as
they meet in Acco, on Friday, October 18th to cry out for the
unborn.
The prayer even is being organized by Be’ad
Chaim the pro-Life organization that is headed by Sandy Shoshani (www.beadchaim.com). Howard asks prayers for the many believers in
Israel who have had or have condoned abortion, that they will repent and
receive forgiveness and healing. Also
for the prophetic voice with the Messianic community that will call Israelis
back to their God, and to His will, that they may have a holy and righteous
impact that changes lives and wrong thinking.
Although the spiritual condition of the nation of
Israel is not good join with their faith to believe that there will be a
turning, and that the bitterness will be made sweet as good declarations are
made from northern Israel by the Remnant of Yeshua’s Body in Israel. Throughout history the enemies of Israel have
attacked from the North. It is no different today as recent news reports showed
that Hizballah has chemical weapons aimed at Israel from the north. So as the believers gather at this strategic
NW Gateway into Israel, we ask for your prayers of protection.
Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the
tongue

believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

Harvest
of Asher asks prayer for Elena who is now been moved to
another hospital-hospice and continues to receive treatment. Please pray for
Elena and her daughter. They also ask
prayer for M. who had surgery not
long ago and his system is going through many changes causing the need for
various health issues to be addressed on a continuing basis. Please keep him in
your prayers.
- Please pray for the wife of Ariel Ben David, who leads an Eilat Congregation, and also for his worship leader, both of whom were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Please continue to intercede for Katya Morrison at Tents of Mercy. She has the good report of no leukemia in her latest extensive testing. Prayers for her full recovery and victory over this disease is still needed.
- Tom Bender Please pray for the tumor in his lymph node to shrink and disappear; for his Achilles tendons and ankles to be healed from a goutish condition, so he can walk more freely. Both ankles have greatly improved in their mobility since our last report; and for no pain in the area of the enlarged lymph node..
- Keep Baby Netaley’s full recovery in your prayers.
- Pray for Ami Ortiz for ongoing issues from the 2008 bomb blast – and that he would win the appeal for government recognition that he is a terror victim. It would mean benefits for the continuing surgeries and legal expenses.
