There is never a shortage of critical issues to pray over Israel between the tension of what the LORD wants to do over His people and what the enemy is attempting to do. We have that good pleasure of entering into agreement with the LORD’s heart for Israel as He is sharing those visions among Yeshua’s faithful servants living in the Land. During this busiest of seasons among the families of the LORD in Israel, let us join in with their rejoicing over one lamb that was lost among the 99 that has been recovered and restored to the fold. Let us pray on behalf of the Gilad Shalit family that the LORD will not only retore him physically and heal the wounds of his soul, but that Gilad and his family will also be granted a revelation of Messiah Yeshua unto salvation. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

On
Monday an Israeli journalist/TV & radio personality contacted David and
Leah Ortiz for their response to a petition in the Knesset to release Jewish “Price
Tag” terrorists and confessed Yad L’Achim zealot Jack Teitel whose package bomb
left at their door nearly took the life of their 15 year old son. Their lawyer advised no comment – but between
brothers in the Lord, the Ortiz family asks for prayers and action from those
able to encourage Knesset members to throw the petition out.
The Ortiz family also discuss how Christian tourists are being warned not to talk to anyone about Yeshua/Jesus, not to have contact with the congregation of David Ortiz in Ariel, and in general not to have contact with the Messianic congregations of Israel. They note that ex-believers in Yeshua are responsible for leading some of these efforts. Pray for those that have fallen away – and for all of those tempted to trade desire for Israel over their faith in Yeshua.
We urge you to keep up your prayers for the entire Ortiz family. Because of the religious-terrorist bombing of this Messianic family’s home in Ariel, and the continued battle to bring the confessed perpetrator to account in the Israeli courts, the entire Ortiz family remain a potent symbol of the Messianic community in Israel. They are therefore a special focus of hatred in some religious zealot circles. No weapon formed against them shall prosper!
Last week we sent an urgent prayer request for Carolyn Hyde who suffered a stroke and we are happy to report the good news of her recovery. After being stabilized by doctors and an 11 hour sleep, husband Richard and their children gathered for worship at God’s word it would bring healing. Carolyn’s ability to speak “increased exponentially”. Later after more worship with the Shishkoff’s, her speaking ability was almost normal. There are a lot of people saying a lot of harsh things about Israel’s deal to secure the soldier’s return. As both evil and righteousness are coming to full maturity, pray for the glaring differences in the response of Israelis to Shalit’s release and that of evil delight expressed over the terrorists release will be understood by the all people who are honest and care for the truth. Pray this not only for people in the nations, but also for Arab peoples whom the LORD desires to bring to the knowledge of the Son of God.
Inside the Weekly Summary, the Jerusalem Institute of Justice shares how their organization has participated in raising awareness about Gilad Shalit’s plight and shaming the double standards of supposed humanitarian groups like the Red Cross, UNCIE and others. Pray for the work of this Messianic human rights organization which is the only pro-Zionist human rights org in Israel.
Pray that the hundreds of terrorists that have been set at liberty, some exiled to other Arab nations, will be foiled by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in any weapon they form against Israel, the Jews or Jewish interests. While Hamas claimed these prisoners would be returned to terrorism service, we pray that the LORD would intervene with a mighty salvation.
The internationally touted and aided “Arab Spring” has placed Christians in those lands in extreme danger, meanwhile in Washington the Senate has been quietly moving to kill the U.S. Commission on International Freedom which issues independent reports on religious persecution of minority groups. Pray that instead of LESS accountability that the LORD would orchestrate MORE accountability!
Probably one of the busiest seasons of the year for evangelical Christian
tourism, even with anti-missionary groups trying to breath down the necks of
tourists to keep the gospel from being spread, there is no way to hide the
light of love as believers took to the streets in an annual parade through
Jerusalem. Pray for the witness that is
given and every outreach, every seed to find good soil that faith in Yeshua may
take hold and blossom.
The unity of the faith was on display at the
annual ICEJ Feast of Tabernacles celebration from Jerusalem which people all
over the world were able to watch streaming live on the web. A subscriber in South Africa sent a photo of Messianic
Jewish brother Howard Bass and Arab Christian brother Stephen Khoury blessing
the communion wine and bread. A few days
later Howard supplied his report of the blessing, which you may read about

Howard asks prayer over the upcoming Negev Conference in Beer Sheva to minister to all the congregations of the Negev region. Speakers will be Yoyakim Figueras of Arad and Labib Madanat, an Arab brother who served many years as the director of the Palestinian Bible Society. Pray for open heavens over this conference.
Dear Ruth from Nahariya is a great inspiration with every report she files on her life reaching out to old friends – literally! from 85 to their 90’s – neighbors and even to her Arab taxi drivers who she makes a strong impression on as she travels to visit Jewish and Arab friends. Pray for this lady who is such an honest light to the people she meets. Pray also for their congregation in Nahariya, that it may grow and prosper, materially and spiritually.
Eddie Santoro has once again given a powerful account of the impact upon the nation as all Israel watched the release of Gilad Shalit over many hours yesterday. You can read it inside the attached Weekly Summary and we encourage you to do that. Santoro writes, “We encourage you to pray for Gilad Schalit and his family. His transformation from being a prisoner held in isolation for five years to being a free man will not be easy.”
The Santoros also write, “Please keep praying for our congregation and the unity between all of the believers in Jerusalem. These times of unity whether they be between leaders or the members of different congregations represent a significant advance for God's Kingdom in this city.”

Like at small but mighty Gideon’s army, the Beckford’s from Arad made an appearance at the Knesset October 11th in a Lift Up Yeshua awareness campaign. Eleven people gathered outside the entrance to the Knesset holding signs that proclaimed, "Jesus is the only hope for Israel" "Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, our redeemer, and he is coming soon" and "Messianic Jews support Israel!". Pray for the light of Yeshua to radiate from His people in the sight of all Israel.
