The high holy days are the latter harvest “Feasts of
the Lord” which were commanded by God for Israel as “moed” or appointed times
for Israel to appear before him. These
Feasts have huge significance as prophetic pictures in God’s plan of salvation
for the Jewish people. Therefore, each of
these holidays are pregnant with the potential of spiritual rebirth for Jews
the world over. So, our prayer focus in
this special season is for many eyes to awaken to Yeshua as the prophesied
Messiah throughout the land of Israel and among Jews in all the lands where
they are still scattered.
Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be you lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Psalm 24:7

Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

Pray
for the Messianic Jews of Israel to be full of the Spirit to proclaim the
gospel of the kingdom of Yeshua in Israel – not only in word, but in powerful
releasing of Heaven’s will into the earthly realm to break every curse and send
healing to the people.
On Friday at sundown, the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)begins. It is a solemn assembly of complete fasting that is broken at sundown on Saturday. The week following is the celebration of Sukkot, or the Feast of Tabernacles. Continue in prayer throughout this special season when there are so many opportunities for the Light of Yeshua to shine through His disciples drawing family, friends and neighbors into relationship with Messiah.
Isaiah 60:2 describes the opposite extremes of the days we have been entering: For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you. In this contrast the difference between good and evil becomes clearer. Pray for those who are in the valley of decision this week, that they will choose good and come to the Light of Yeshua.
Since the garden of Eden, there has been a satanic war on the Truth and the devil’s ultimate weapon is nothing more than a lie dressed up as a fact. In the 63 year old Palestinian-Israeli conflict there have been many wars, skirmishes and violent events, but the most unrelenting battle has been the battle for the truth. Narratives may sound right, but there is a real, factual truth and those that love the truth will ultimately find their way to it. Pray for the truth as GOD sees it to penetrate in the hearts and minds of His people – that none of us be found on the wrong side of the truth, fighting against God’s will.
Pray for the truth to prevail in the current international wrestling over Palestinian statehood. Although it is true that eventually all the nation-states will abandon Israel, we are not to adopt a fatalistic attitude but we are to endeavor in the spirit and in the natural to resist lies and darkness. Pray for clear words of truth to counter lying narratives .
Please continue to pray for Iranian Christian past Nadarkhani who has refused to renounce his faith and is under a death sentence that would also mark his family for death. Pray for a release and protection over this young man. Pray for the persecuted believers throughout the region in gospel hostile states.
Inside the Weekly Summary, Arni Klein writes of Signs in the Heavens – according to the NASA website we are in store for “blood moons” (total lunar eclipses) during Passover and Sukkot of both 2014 and 2015. Arni focuses us on why this may have a connection to Yeshua’s words in Matthew 24:19 about the “tribulation of those days”. There is also an interesting timing in the appearance of other blood moons in history.
In the midst of tribulations across the globe, Netanya pastor Evan Thomas notes the month of Elul, which gave way to Rosh Hashana “is the month when the grapes are crushed for new wine, the olives are pressed for new season’s oil and the figs are picked, dried and stored.” Clearly the spiritual symbolism is that all picking, the pressing and crushing going on are meant to bring forth good for us in the long run. Pray for the oil and the wine to come forth in the Israeli Body.

God for signs He gives – we don’t need to seek after signs because He willing
gives us plenty. One sign that has even the Israeli media buzzing about is the
sign of abundant rain coming by the appearance of a wild native plant called
the Common Squill. If it appears early
and in significant quantities the winter ahead will be abundant and early,
report the Lotans in Samaria. Several
ministries have reported rain in their areas already.
Pray for all the young people from the Body in Israel who are reporting for their mandatory term of service in the military. Some of the believing IDF soldiers were involved in stopping the the terrorists in the attack last month near Eilat. Pray for the protection of these soldiers and for the LORD to guide their thoughts and decisions in these challenging times.
It is a good complaint to have – several of the congregations are growing so much they are bursting at the seams – but it is not so easy to remedy due to their faith not being welcomed in all available facilities, and obviously funding issues. Please join in prayer agreement for every need to be met for these congregations. Even answers like multiple services is not going to work in situation where there are 3 to 5 different translations being made each service. God has the answer, agree for His provision.
Ye’shi Reinhardt of the Hands of Mercy humanitarian aid ministry sent an aerial photograph this week that is startling for those of us who cannot imagine how close the rocket barraged city of Sderot is to where the rockets are being fired from in Gaza City. Please open the attached Weekly Summary and prepare to be shocked!
Hands of Mercy is not allowed to minister the gospel to the terror victims, wounded soldiers or shell shocked people of Sderot and Ashkelon because it would amount to a bribery to convert in the eyes of Israeli law. We should still prefer our humanitarian aid be distributed through believers in Yeshua. Also, most humanitarian aid groups will not offer any aid to Messianic Jews…but Hands of Mercy does.
The bi-annual Sitting At Yeshua’s Feet national ministry leadership retreat was held over Sept 20-22, during the event so much was happening at the UN. It is a praise-worthy report from Howard Bass that there was great participation from the Arab brothers, as the gathering was held in the Galilee where it is easier for them to attend. It is also praise worthy that despite the events at the UN, the brothers were able to enter in a deeper level of relationship with each other and the focus on their common salvation.
Later in Beer Sheva the ‘Old House’ where Yeshua’s Inheritance congregation meets, there was a CAMA celebration of 100-years in the city. Three of the Arab brothers from the SAYF retreat were also part of the celebration of CAMA. One, Jack Sara, the pastor for many years of the Jerusalem Alliance (Arab) Church , is not the VP of the Bethlehem Bible College, transitioning to become its President next year.
The involvement and interaction between the Messianic Jewish and Christian Arab brothers is not a light thing – it is also often not an easy thing as there are many places which are not eye-to-eye. It is a GOD thing though, so please pray for these men and women who are putting pleasing the LORD first, ahead of all other things that might stop this shining example of the God’s handiwork in human flesh.
From the Galilee region we also received a report of much summer fruit as many young people gave their lives to Yeshua over the summer. Pray for those that opened their hearts to Him, but now must stand for in situations where they have few – if any - spiritual peers.
One of the congregations in the north is asking for prayer for protection from the enemies of the Gospel, that the work not be hindered. We also note a headline we saw over the past week that Yad L’Achim may be shifting its efforts from Arad to Meveserret. I don’t know how true a shift might be since they have plenty of recruits in the Negev and in Jerusalem, but we do note that the enemies of the gospel are still very much pressing into their mission – as evidenced in the Caspari Media Review excerpt included in the Weekly Summary. All prayers welcome on this matter at all times.
Pray for Ken Crowell, the Messianic founders of Galtronics, who has provided work for man locals over the past 30 years. Ken is in the hospital and very weak. Pray for his recovery, and for his wife Margie dealing with this challenging life situation.
