Priority Prayer Focus Nov 12, 2014

The Priority Prayer Focus remains on the Temple Mount and what many Israelis fear may be the emerging of a third intifada.  You will find specific prayer points from the Israeli believers below, and expanded comments on the situation inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary.

Arrows from Zion
Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

The Temple Mount continues to be a focal point of prayer focus for Israel as it is the pretext for the latest terror attacks against Israeli citizens – stabbing attacks and individuals using vehicles to mow down targets of opportunity on the streets. As I begin to glean the Weekly Summary prayer letters down to this Arrows from Zion digest, I’m seeing a Twitter notice from the Jerusalem Post that Palestinian Authority leader Bargoughti who has been in Israeli prison for many years has called for Palestinians to begin armed resistance.  He has since been moved into solitary confinement – but this is an indication that the terrorists have sniffed the fear of Israelis for a new phase of public warfare.  Intifada means uprising, this is the fear of many Israelis because danger lurks on every street in the case it advances to this.  Many innocent citizens could die in unexpected, opportunistic attacks by Palestinian terrorists.  Please continue to make this a high priority prayer – that God will suppress the wave of terror currently threatening Israel.

Eddie Santoro, who is the pastor of the Jerusalem Love of Yeshua congregation, writes about the situation in his prayer letter this week under the title of Exploding Violence.  “It's an all too familiar pattern. Hate crazed Islamic terrorists who love killing Israelis more than they love their lives, doing everything and anything to terrorize the residents of Jerusalem. Over the years of our sojourn in Israel, we have lived through many waves of satanic hatred.”

Santoro also discusses the ongoing violence surrounding the Temple Mount and writes, “the entire Arab world is in an uproar. Jordan has recalled its ambassador from Israel and is calling for a special hearing at the UN to investigate Israel's alleged ‘atrocities against the innocent Palestinian victims’.  This current unrest is being proclaimed by Jihadists as the final battle for Islam's all important and holy city of Jerusalem. In truth, the city of Jerusalem is mentioned 622 times in the Hebrew scripture but never mentioned in the Koran.  Truly, we are living in the days when the lie is exalted as truth and evil is seen as good.”

Some of the prayer points Santoro offers are these:  “In all of this, we ask you to pray that God would protect Israel and show his wrath against those who seek to destroy his beloved nation and people.
Pray that this wave of violence would be stopped and not escalate into a third intifada.
Pray that the government would have wisdom on how to respond and stop the murder of innocent people.
Pray that the power of the lie would be broken and that leaders, particularly those in the West would see and proclaim the truth.
Pray against the spirit of jihadist Islam that is raising such havoc and darkness upon the entire planet.
Pray for the salvation of the Palestinian people and the multitudes of Moslems around the world who have been swept up in its satanic wave of hatred and darkness.”

Israel Pochtar of the Beit Hallel and Voice of Judah Israel Ministries in Ashdod gives a good report on the evangelistic outreach event they participated in with Sid Roth in Jerusalem.  They were able to bring 550 unbelievers from their area to the event where many received healing and responded to the altar call.  The congregation has also launched is second ALPHA course the is a 7 week new believers course.  Pochtar asks, “Please pray for God's protection, for security and safety, so there is no hindrance for God's work through this course and for full provision for the needs of the course. “

Howard Bass of the Beer Sheva, Yeshua’s Inheritance congregation files an upbeat report on the state of their always busy congregational life.  He writes that the teen ministry is prospering and that they have the largest number of participants that they have had in several years.  The congregation also will host a Shabbat school seminar put on by the Caspari center (who do an excellent media review each week of articles in the Hebrew press of interest to believers – a very valuable resource).   They also received a congregational banner that was made for them by an Australian artist – quite beautiful and based on Isaiah 41:17-20.

Howard writes about the closing ceremony for one of their son’s first command completion of duty training new recruits.  Tal was recognized as the Outstanding Officer, Howard writes, “We were very proud parents, I must admit, and there were tears as well listening to everyone commend him:  his officers over him, those alongside him, those under him, soldiers trained by him, and their families who came up to us, too, when they knew that Randi and I were the mama and the papa!  He is known as a believer in Jesus, so His name is honored here as well.  Isn't that what we are chosen for, to be His witnesses and give glory to Him?”

There is lots of news from this congregation which you can read inside the attached PDF Weekly Summary including the body-wide Joshua Fund conference going on it Netanya next week.  An article Howard wrote for a conference a few years ago on suffering as believers; and a book recommendation if you are “interested in coming to a better understanding of jihadi Islam and its impact upon everyone, to get a copy of Mark Durie's book, The Third Choice.  It is very enlightening.”

David Davis of the Carmel Assembly on Mt Carmel writes during the midst of their November School Of Ministry with participants from 11 nations.  They are also receiving an increasing number of visiting prayer groups from all over the world.

Davis writes about the recent major hail storm that hit northern Israel during the first week of November.  He relates this to the threats of the leader of the Hizballah terrorist army in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah, at the same time:  “Thousands of his black-clad followers cheered in the streets of South Beirut, where many of the long-range Iranian-made missiles are embedded in major population centers.  Hizballah (“the army of Allah”) was renewing their covenant of death to Israel.  Nazrallah threatened to destroy our major cities, ports (including Haifa) and Ben Gurion airport.”

Davis writes about the first mention of hailstones in the Bible which was during the 7th plague visited on Egypt as a sign to let His people go.  When the heavy hail fell of Egypt, it brought destruction, but not to God’s people in the land of Goshen.  Davis writes, “God will surely be a hiding place for His remnant when we are attacked by our enemies.”  Then he asks, “Will the promised revival break forth during a war here in the North?”

Pray into these things. Israel is surrounded by enemies within and without…BUT GOD & the prayers of the saints. As it is written, “The gates of hell shall not prevail”  Read more from this dynamic ministry

They also ask prayer for their ministries of the House of Victory addiction rehab and the Or HaCarmel Women’s Shelter.  Also for faithful workers at Elijah Cloak and Raven’s Basket food and clothing ministries. Every month we distribute close to 6 tons of food and well over 1 ton of clothing.  Food goes to 450 families, including at least 260 children, or not less than 1000 people in total!

Shira Sorko-Ram of Maoz Ministries talks about the staggering refugee problems in the world that “has exceeded 50,000,000 for the first time since World War II.”  Shira writes about the place of UN Humanitarian Aid, and how UN HUMANITARIAN AID It is NOT all the same

I know I already shared this last week, but it bears repeating:  The article by Dr. Daniel Juster Islamic Extremism & the Anti-Christ takes on Christian confusion over Hamas terrorism, and in general, the failure of many Christians to recognize the truth about Islamist terrorists.  These groups are not “freedom fighters” in any honest, factual assessment. Juster correctly identifies the spirit behind the terrorists as Anti-Christ.

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:

Marc C. in Haifa reports that his wife Leah is steadily improving and doctors continue to evaluate her health issues.  Keep praying for this pioneer of Messianic music.

Praying the Headlines

by David Lazarus, Beit Immanuel

The most popular religious group in America is the Jews. Jews, however, do not particularly care for their Evangelical admirers.

That is the conclusion of a massive survey published this summer by the Pew Research Center. The study asked Americans of every race, religion and political persuasion how they felt about a variety of religious groups. Of all the different groups, Jews ranked highest (63 degrees on the warm survey meter)and second were Catholics (62). Muslims finished dead last (a cold 40).

Of the people who like the Jews, Evangelicals warm the most to the tribe (a hot 69). Those warm fuzzy feelings, however, are not mutual. American Jews scored white Anglo-Saxon Evangelicals a frigid 34 degrees. Only atheists disliked the Evangelicals more than the Jews (29)!

These chilly Jewish attitudes towards Evangelicals should be a wake up call for those trying so hard to win the Jews over with Christian love and support.
