"And I also say to you that you are Kefa/Peter, and on this rock I will build My kehilat/congregation, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed* in heaven." Matthew 16:18-19

No matter how dire the straits, nor overwhelming the odds, nor pressing the times, Yeshua stated point blank that He was handing us the keys to the kingdom of heaven and the gates of hell could not prevail against the congregation He was assembling to Himself.

Pray that all of our eyes remain fixed on Him and not on the boisterous seas and rising waves. ________________________________________

Arrows from Zion
Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

The final cases against Eddie Beckford has been ruled upon by the judge
who said that because of the provocation of the orthodox, she was being lenient toward Eddie with no jail, no community service, and end to the house 2 ½ year arrest and only a 5000 shekel fine for the two court cases. We join Lura and Eddie in rejoicing!

It may only be hasbara – propaganda – but we are also seeing a Debkafile report as we prepare to mail that PA leader Abbas is backing off the UN Security Council statehood bid
and is considering watering down his application to the UN General Assembly by possibly dropping the “state with 1967 borders.” Needless to say, these events are this week – and for the last several – the highest priority on each of the Israeli Ministry prayer letters we receive. Keep praying!

Guy C, who was born in Akko, Israel and now leads a growing congregation there called the Harvest of Asher, provides an overview of the Feasts of the Lord that begin in the month of Tishrei and are prophetic times of Israel to meet before God. Read by opening the Weekly Summary (by subscription only), and be in prayer for those Israelis God is calling to meet His Messiah during the 2011 high holy days.

Pray about supporting Israeli ministries with funds for their many outreaches in their communities during these holidays.
Also pray about supporting the needs of the congregations. Unemployment and inflation are hitting the believers of Israel too. Your help makes such a difference and is a testimony of Yeshua’s provision.

Eitan S wrote, “I’m convinced that we make “evangelism” too complicated. We know that Yeshua was a “friend to sinners.” That sounds pretty do-able to me. … I do like making friends with people and showing them that I genuinely care, through simple acts of kindness. “ Many Israelis are being won to the LORD in precisely this way – in contrast to their treatment by the ultra-pious.

This message of being the gospel not just speaking the gospel was also underscored in a story told by Ruth from Nahariya, whose taxi driver remembered her from blessing him with Arabic DVD about Jesus 3 months earlier. He was excited to see her again and gratefully accepted another Arabic DVD, this time the Jesus film.

With the fall Feasts of the Lord, a new season starts in the congregational life. Pray for the shepherds of Israel
as they go about building up strong families, equipping leaders, raising up prayer over their young soldiers reporting to duty in perilous times. Pray for God’s grace to be abundant toward them and wisdom and favor doubled.

Also asked, “For the breakthroughs in the life of depressed and bound people.”

In asking for prayer over the safety of Israeli soldiers and cities, one pastor asks also for intercession to be made for Islamic extremists to get saved. None is beyond the reach of the salvation of Yeshua, and the pastor noted meeting an Iranian ex-Muslim recently in the States “filled with God’s Spirit and (who) loved me, as a Jew.”

The call to prayer for Israel is being sounded strongly by many of the Israeli ministries this week and much great background information is spelled out in several of them, including,

1. A ministry in the Samarian Hills discuss the angle of how the Arab populations inside and outside Israel proper are impacting how Israel is preparing for the aftermath of the UN statehood bid; also of concern the hot potential for confrontations between Palestinian Arabs and Jewish-Israeli settlers.

2. A ministry near the Lebanon border speaks of the unease in their congregation “we are all conscious that hostilities could break out again from the North.” This goes with the report circulating that many expect the UN statehood bid to be followed with Israel’s Arab neighbors bum-rushing the borders again.

3. A Jerusalem ministry also notes the UN vote for Palestinian statehood could “cause a major shake up in this part of the world” as PA and Hamas have promised violent demonstrations and “day of rage” after the resolution receives its probably affirmation.

4. The same ministry goes on to underscore how serious the situation in Egypt is when the police stood by and let a 10-hour hate-fest riot break through a cement wall into the Israeli embassy. The staff barely escaped with their lives. Turkey is also a trouble spot, with the Turkish President continuing the verbal attack of Israel.

5. A ministry in Kfar Saba asks prayer that many Arab people with turn to the true God of Love as the Middle East is going through deep changes. (What the emeny has meant for evil God can turn to good through the breaking through of Messiah in many hearts) Pray the gospel will be proclaimed freely in the Arab states and in Israel.

6. Prayer is asked to be made against violence and the shedding of blood

7. A Beer Sheva pastor asks for prayer for Israelis to make Jacob’s prayer of Gen 32:9-12 their own. It is a prayer of repentance and asking God’s deliverance from Jacob’s fear of his brother Esau. The pastor notes this family history is still playing out today in fuller fruition.

8. The witness of reconciliation in Yeshua is also on the mind of many of the ministries who participate regularly events with Christian Arabs in the Land. Uplift all these to be more like Yeshua than ever before – which is what it takes to rise above the kind of conflicts that exist in the natural, even between spiritual brothers.

9. Another Israeli prophet and pastor in Meveseret Zion writes (see Praying the Headlines) about the mob attack in Egypt and the rescue of the Israeli Embassy staff including the efforts of Netanyahu to press the Egyptian government to divert an international disaster by rescuing the last 6 security personnel left in the embassy.

10. He also brings key facts out on the increasing belligerence of Turkish PM Erdogan, citing an excerpt from Hurriyet Daily columnist (asking prayer of protection for the courageous journalist) who wrote a detailing of Muslim-on-Muslim death tolls in various nations that tallies in the multiplied millions. (The numbers are astounding and profoundly undermine the idea that Muslim violence is limited to a small fringe).

11. A 24/7 prayer ministry from Jerusalem issues this video prayer alert urging Christians throughout the world to stand strongly during the next three crucial weeks for Israel and the region.

12. Finally, we do urge subscribers to go beyond the Arrows from Zion brief points this week, and go into the more in-depth coverage of these issues in the Weekly Summary for Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries. Better than reading online newspapers, the Israeli ministries cut to chase of the most important issues to focus your attention on and prayers toward.

Back to the prayers for the needs of the harvest
– please pray for those Israeli ministries who are traveling and speaking at this time, for fruitfulness and protection. Pray the Holy Spirit would prepare even the soil of hearts that are hardened against seeing God’s plan continues to include Israel & the Jews. Pray that everywhere the seeds are being planted that water and sun will follow to produce good fruit.

Pray for the health of each of the leaders who are traveling
, or have just come from travels, which wears even the young and fit down. Pray for a supernatural infusion of health, strength, vigor and well being for each of the ministries.

Toward Jerusalem Council II is taking place in Israel this week
, convening major Church denominational leaders, particularly from Europe and Africa this year. Pray for their dialogue that is designed to bring official Church support and understanding to the Messianic movement in Israel and around the world.

Prayer is asked for “For the raising of more servant leaders in our midst. For men to take their place of shepherds and priests in their homes and spheres of influence.”

Many new marriages and babies among the congregations are creating pressing needs for facilities to be enlarged or even new facilities sought. The expense of living and ministering in Israel is really quite beyond imagination.
Please pray for God to stir up the believers of the nations to step into the gap and honor the debt Paul spoke of in Romans 15:27

It is natural to see much spiritual investment in the young people in Israel and everywhere, but it is also nice to see the investment of a Beer Sheva congregation in enriching the older folk on a recent Christian history tour in the Galilee. Young people are the future, but the elders still have the ability to grow and also to continue to make a valuable contribution to a the spiritual family.

Pray for the Christian leaders from the nations who were mentioned in the past week of prayer letters from Israeli Ministries – including the leaders from China, Korea, Scotland, Iran, Turkey, Great Britain, Lebanon, Germany and the United States
. In all of these nations God has stirred up Christians to respond to His heart toward the Body of Messiah in Israel. Pray that their influence in their own nations with expand and break down many barriers that have been erected to resist the move of God in this hour.

The World Needs Love

by Daniel C. Juster Director Tikkun International

Most of us understand that love involves compassion for others. In the world outside the conservative Christian and Messianic Jewish communities, there are some who believe compassion should move us to allow homosexuals to marry and to serve openly in the military. (The last has now been approved in the United States). In addition, they encourage tolerance for people to have no-fault divorces. Love, they say, compels us to have generous welfare and free high-tech medical services. Love seems to be bankrupting our country. The world also tells us that we should seek justice. Usually justice is defined as equality. If men and women are not treated in the same way, or if income distribution is not exactly equal, then society is unjust and unloving. Read in full here
