On the eve of peace talks between Israelis and the Palestinian Authority, Hamas has claimed responsibility for a terror attack that took 4 Israeli lives (one woman reportedly pregnant) in the West Bank. This is the well known pattern of Islamist opposition to any attempt to negotiate peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Not that there is much hope of any positive results from negotiations, but for sure the talks will produce an uptick in terrorist events against Israelis.
Keep the leaders in prayer – including those in the military and police protecting the lives of innocents. Pray for God’s protection over the public and the soldiers, for terror events to be thwarted, for reality to set into Washington and for the LORD to put a lid on what this costs Israel to participate in.

Praise God for the opportunity of a Messianic Jew to preach the gospel to Muslims via the al Hayat Christian TV station in the Middle East. Dispelling some popular myths of Islam that has been ‘borrowed” from the Hebrew scriptures, this ministry seeks to decimate jihadist indoctrination with the truth of God’s Word. Pray for him and for the Truth to make multitudes free!
Pray for Arab evangelists who are risking their lives to share the good news with their people throughout the Middle East . The LORD is doing mighty deliverances under the radar – pray in agreement for these men and women that mighty signs and wonders would accompany their sharing of the gospel.
This is a critical hour the world over for the heart of Muslims to be won to the LORD Messiah. Even as we rise up to fight radical Islam we must be vigil to keep a tender heart for Muslim whom the Yeshua/Jesus also gave His life for. Call Muslims out to the Truth and to the love, ending the grip of the cult of hate.
Thank God for the great diversity of ministries in Israel – those that minister to street people, to broken familes. Thank God for those who minister in pro-Life clinics, in media, in art districts and in humanitarian aid. Every type of ministry is represented in Israel by citizens who know Yeshua. Pray for them all to be blessed with vision and provision.
Thank God that the man responsible for the terror bombing of Ami Ortiz was found fit to stand trial – but justice is not a lock, so please continue to pray for the court proceedings and for the Messianic Ortiz family as they will be reliving that terrible event …unsure of the will to hold the bomber accountable.
Pray also for Ami as he continues to heal from 20+ operations repairing his damaged body. Pray the Lord will light Ami’s path. In his last year of high school, the young man will not be able to follow in the footsteps of four older brothers who fulfilled their IDF service after graduation. Pray God will reveal the path He has for Ami.
Thank God for the women’s conference which drew 200 women from the congregations in the Land recently. Pray for the ladies who ministered and those that were ministered to, for God to continue His work in them for wholeness and holiness.
One to one discipling of the most badly damaged souls among us is a work that requires a willingness to put ourselves out for another person. It is way past our comfort zones – but an offering that sends up a sweet savor into the Lord’s nostrils. Pray for those who are doing these works, for encouragement of heart and abundant grace to carry through.
Pray for the Israeli ministries who are stretching forth their tents – even amidst lack there are those who are reaching to do more in the service of the kingdom of the LORD. Speak blessing on these, an eye for opportunities – vision and provision to do all God has put in their hearts.
Pray for all the children of all the ministries in Israel – from the congregational leaders to the smaller, single focus ministries. Pray for their children to be taught of the Lord, for the fear of the Lord to be in their hearts, with compassion, grace and zeal. For those that need healing, Be healed! For prodigal sons and daughters to come their senses and RETURN!
Pray for the hearts of the fathers to be towards the children, and the hearts of the children to be towards the fathers – for the generation gap to be bridged by the love of Yeshua and for Yeshua in families. For the young people to be instilled with vision for using their unique gifting for Him.
As the High Holy Days approach, pray for the many events and ministry opportunities that will be in abundance throughout the Land. For there to be a “Reason for the season” of joy and spiritual new beginnings starting with Rosh HaShana, the Jewish New Year. Pray for an awakening of Jewish spirits and hearts to their One true Messiah.

Dialogue: The Messianic movement

Hold it right there! Christians reading this article may say, well that sounds perfectly reasonable. It isn’t. Allow me to make a few comments on this:
Rabbi Riskin says he is opening a dialogue on the Messianic movement, but it is more a seduction of Christians to throw the Israeli believers under the bus. Riskin’s article which was run in the Jerusalem Post a few days ago is nothing but an attempt to alleviate pressures he has come under from anti-missionary groups in Israel over his alliance with Christians building the Christian resort in the Galilee. The Christians who accept this false accusation Riskin makes about the most effective ministries in the land of Israel are compromising the gospel to do so. I have more comments inside, and a link to Riskin’s article which is writer to sound reasonable….too bad it is not.
Rabbi Riskin has been taking heat for supporting the building of a Christian resort on the Galilee & consorting with Christians. His answer to that is this article which seeks to turn Israel-loving Christians against the Israeli Jewish believers in Jesus. The really bad part is that many Christians are going to be willing to throw them under the bus to keep their "special" relationship with Israel Deception.
Get this: Rabbi Riskin is not against the Israeli Messianic Jews who keep their head down and never share their faith, it is those pesky ones that want to tell others about Yeshua that are the problem. It may sound okay to some of you Christians, but it is not okay and it targets some of the most effective ministries in Israel. DO NOT SIDE WITH THIS OR YOU WILL BE COMPROMISING THE GOSPEL AND SELLING OUT OUR BROTHERS& SISTERS IN THE FAITH OF YESHUA/JESUS.
I should also mention that it is NOT against the law in Israel to share your faith as an Israeli citizen. Jews believe in everything under the sun from New Age to ancient Eastern religions. Others believe in nothing and all of it is okay - JUST NOT FAITH in YESHUA/JESUS.
This article by Rabbi Riskin comes from pressure from the anti-missionaries in Israel - the same spirit that stalked the believers in the Acts of the Apostles is stalking the believers and making trouble for them today in Israel. Wake up, Church! Don't fall for this!
Rabbi Riskin's public statement in this article as raising the stakes even higher than the past. He is inviting the Christian Israel supporters to reject ANY JEWISH BELIEVER in YESHUA who shares the gospel as using "deceptive proselytizing practices to win Jewish converts." That is a false accusation and will be a compromise of the faith to any Christian who believes it. It would be as if you walked into an opium den and someone told you that to share the gospel with anyone in that room would be out of line and against the sanctity of their religion. Yeshua is the ONLY DOOR to salvation – even for the Jews.
Also, Riskin denies the persecution of believers in Israel. I know there is a lot of persecution denial going on even in the Messianic community, but I'll tell you what, I sure don't hear that tripe from the victims of religious persecution in Israel including the Ortiz family who nearly lost their son Ami after being bombed by a Yad L'Achim anti-missionary. Or the believers who have been firebombed in various parts of the country.
Now anyone who denies this is persecution will have to stand up and tell me that the historic Jewish pogroms were also not persecution - because they are the same thing. I see very little in this article that is positive and what is positive, it just setting up Christians to take the bait.
Someone asked: Who are the Christians Riskin is working with? Maybe we should email them.
The sad answer is: They have been contacted many times over the years but refuse dialogue with anyone from the Messianic Jewish community, or any Christian advocating for the Israeli Messianic believers. Willful ignorance is what that is called....and it is a compromise of the gospel and the faith.
The rapture is no excuse for deserting our spiritual family in Israel – the Jewish believers in Yeshua. Don’t let Rabbi Riskin or anyone else fool you into thinking it is okay to turn your back on them in any way. - Donna Diorio

So true. Some situations seem so messy from our perspective but God sees the end from the beginning. What looks like things rolling wildly out of control to us, from His perspective are just the lining up of circumstances to bring about His desired ends. So we pray for deeper trust in the LORD to enter His rest for all of the messy circumstances we are dealing with – sometimes on behalf of others.
“The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the Potter!” Lamentations 4:2

Thank God for favorable Hebrew media coverage of the Messianic believers last week, and for the opportunity for an Israeli Messianic Jew to present the love of Yeshua to Arab viewers on Al Hayat Christian TV in the Middle East. Pray for the seeds that were planted to produce a glorious harvest.
Pray for wisdom in the Israeli government to deal with the Iranian threat, as well as the announced resumption of negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.
In Kings and Chronicles several times when Israel was surrounded – down for the count to all appearances – God would send out circumstances that turned the enemy back without a battle. Perhaps God will remove the threat of Iran through a civil war. However He desires to thwart the evil plots, we pray into agreement that the threat be removed in Yeshua’s name!
There are many great things happening in Israel – at the same time there are many weary saints because the pressure cooker that the Land is. Lift up the arms of the weary, speak refreshing flow of grace would fill their spirits. Pray for vision from on High, where hopes are being suffocated by circumstances.
Pray especially for the young people – even the young believers. It is not the same environment they are dealing with as teens or as believers in the U.S. Hope is the word to speak over their lives – and vision from the Lord for their place in His plans.
Many parents of this generation of Messianic young people made conscious decisions to live sacrificial lives for the Lord’s harvest in Israel. Pray for the Lord to grant vision, grace and heart to the generation stepping into these days. Pray for their hearts to be covered by the shield of faith.
As the High Holy days are soon upon us so are the opportunities of the believers to be a blessing and a testimony to their family, friends and neighbors. There will be many family get-togethers and opportunities to bless the needy. Pray for all these outreaches that people who carry the spirit of Yeshua in their hearts to be a blessing and revelation of His love to Israelis.
Pray for unity in the congregations and families. It seems the strategy of the moment is bringing tension in our close relationships – a divide and conquer mode. Pray for the more mature to ‘make up for’ what the weaker in faith are not equipped to do in making and keeping peace, & forgiving in relationships.
Bless all those Christians who are connected with the Israeli Messianic community during tours to Israel, short term missions, or through exposure to these ministries touring through the nations. Pray for Christians to really catch a vision for the work of the harvest, and not to be simply sidelined into a fascination for Jewishness. The SPIRITUAL vision to be imparted.
Pray for those ministry leaders who are in continuing education – whether for Masters Degree or intensive Hebrew courses – an anointing on their minds to absorb the material.
Pray also for the ministries who are stretching themselves in terms of various new technologies, that God will give them everything they need to tap into every potential avenue for reaching both the unsaved with the gospel and also the support base needed for the ministries.
Many of the ministries in Israel come from nations all over the world where Jews were scattered – Argentina, the former USSR nations, Africa, the nations ‘down under’. Pray for the works they are doing among Israeli citizens from all these nations and for Christians with a burden for that nation of people to awaken to those ministries going on in the Israeli “melting pot” of Jews from the nations.
As summer draws to a close and many of the summer tours of Israeli ministries beginning to wrap up, pray for each of them to return home revived and blessed, ready to begin anew. Whatever it ‘felt like’ on the road, pray that surprising and welcome fruit will come forth in each ministry.
Pray for congregations in transition, for the God appointed leaders to arrive at the right time. Pray for newcomers to be welcomed among family and relationships to gel in the congregational families.
Pray for those in advanced years who have enjoyed the companionship of the believers in their communities, but who have not yet take the step to receive the Lord into their hearts. Pray for God to give them a vulnerable heart, to let down the walls of their heart and welcome Yeshua in.
Life for the Arab Christians in the West Bank and Gaza continues to be dangerous – life is cheap. Pray for the Lord to cover them, protect them, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and that He will hide them under His wings from those breathing out evil against them.
Pray for strong hearts among those that God has appointed to fulfill even more in their elder years. Thank God for His people who even in elder years still move with a heart to be at work in building His kingdom. This is a blessing and we bless you, Ruth Nessim, for being such a role model of a woman of faith.

Praise God for the report that the name of Yeshua and the Messianic Jewish community is increasingly becoming a part of Israeli life. And for the Israeli newspaper article that marks a breakthrough in “our battle to be acknowledged and accepted as a legitimate part of the Israeli community.”
Please pray that the truth of who we are (as represented in Monday’s article) would be a mighty weapon against the powerful and carefully planned attack being waged by the ultra-religious community to delegitimize us as Jews.
The enemies of the gospel in Israel are stirred up but the good news is not only going forth, but those who carry the good news are being recognized for the Light which shines brightly from their lives. This is something to rejoice, thank God for and ask Him for MORE, MORE, MORE!
“Although we know that the end is victorious, the daily struggle can still be difficult, especially for those are victims of violent attacks, who illegally lose their jobs, are harassed in their businesses, are denied housing, have passports taken away, or are denied citizenship.” Please pray for all of us who live here in Israel and are open and public about our faith.
Pray that in the near future the "gates" of Israel would be open to receive all Jews, even those who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel. Please pray specifically for the Messianic attornies who are in the forefront of the battle to portray us positively in Israel's national media and to use the court system to render just verdicts in our favor.
Pray for a new young believer whose parents have turned her out of their home because she has chosen faith in Yeshua. Pray the LORD to be to her everything she needs to stand in her new found faith and to radiate His life back to her family. As she is about to enter the IDF pray for Divine connections with strong believers to draw near to her.
Pray for the many needs in the congregations – everything from additional financial resources, to additional ministry staff and volunteers, from bonds to form between congregational teens to more employment opportunities that will keep young people in the towns of their youth.
Pray for not only vision for ministry to be birthed in congregants, but also resources – provisions to carry the visions. Pray for the youth retreats and other summer ministry events going on throughout the Land. Pray for those who are meeting in the land and also those now meeting in Germany.
Thank God for effective ministry of Israelis as they travel among the nations – north, south, east and west – Israeli ministries are carrying good news to the nations of the great things our God is doing among the Jewish people. It is a message that startles many, and inspires faith in His faithfulness.

For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor the dust thereof. So the heathen shall fear the Name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. When the LORD shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory. He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise their Lord.”
The time to favor Zion – the appointed time – is come. The time for Your servants in the nations to take pleasure in her LIVING stones – the believers of Israel – and not only to favor the dust thereof.

There are many good reasons to visit Israel, but the very best Israel visit Christians and Messianics of the nations can make is a personal investment in the Body of Messiah in the Land who are laboring in the harvest. Pray for an increase of those willing to come to Israel (1) to connect with our Spiritual Family in Yeshua Messiah, and to volunteer in short term ministry opportunities. Sow to the Spirit!
Akko is a crusader stronghold port north of Haifa and one of the top 2 poorest towns in Israel – but it is rich in faith, and the Spirit is quietly doing something in bonding Arab & Jewish believers together. Pray for an expansion of brotherly love to continue to increase and strength as a testimony to the power of Yeshua.
Pray for the many smaller Arab Christian and Messianic ministries throughout the biblical borders of Israel. The most important issue is not which parts of the Land are Jewish and which are Arab, but which of the Arabs and which of the Jews are part of Zion – brothers in the Messiah Yeshua.
Pray for increased support to fund the visions that the Holy Spirit has placed in even the smallest of congregations and ministries in Israel – when one source of support bows out, pray that two new equal sources will step in to help. This is a “Samaritan Call” in reverse: Now it is the Israeli Body that needs our help!
Today a news report carried news of Gaza become increasingly a police state with more and more bodies turning up tortured and assassinated; more Taliban-type sharia oppressions against women and other Gazans. Pray for the angelic protection over the bold Christian Arab ministries in Gaza & the West Bank…..and Lebanon.
Many of the Christian Arab evangelists work strictly underground and survive on support that is channeled through Israeli Messianic Jewish ministries. These are unknown names to the outside world but several ministries supply the need. Pray for increase of material blessings for MORE, MORE, MORE!
A multi-congregational children’s camp is currently underway (Aug 9-13). Pray for the 70+ 2nd-6th graders to be blessed with a lasting spiritual impact. Thank God for the volunteers from an Abilene, Texas church who are helping out in the camp. Ask God to multiple the vision for this kind of thing & bless participants richly.
Speak blessings of unity and brotherly love over all the congregations – within themselves and among themselves. Speak spiritual discernment over the leaders, humility, yet boldness to lead. Just about now we could all use a major refreshing, Cry out Grace! over the Israel Body in the midst of heat wave.
Pray for significant coverage of Messianic Jews in the Israeli media which is scheduled – that it will be reported honestly and touch hearts among viewers. The strategy is a paradigm shift in thinking – that the Israeli public recognize Messianics as a legitimate – even if controversial – stream within the Israeli experience.
As long as I have been following Israel-related news, one thing that continually shocks and appalls me is the outrageously huge lies that are spoken about Israel in the news. The more preposterous the lie, the more it is lapped up. Pray for Israel’s battle against lies because it is unrelenting & must be countered.
Within Israel, it is clear that radical religious elements are being protected from legal accountability by the courts and law enforcement. This is a dangerous situation for Israel spiritually – because of the law of sowing and reaping.
Pray for an awakening to real justice in Israel to prevail over unsanctified mercy within the tribe. Left unaccountable, ugly extremist religious radicalism only grows more arrogant and more punishing of everyone outside their belief construct.
Thank God that Ami Ortiz continues to be repaired – his ear operation looks good 3 weeks out, but 3 weeks to go until final verdict is in on the success. Thank God for putting Ami back together again, a basketball playing, living miracle and testimony.
Congregations in the north continue to hold special watch on the northern border with Lebanon – pray with them as some incidents have begun to heat up the belligerence level coming from the north. Protection over all the IDF soldiers, as one was killed in a shooting attack last week.
A volley of “Grad” missiles were shot into Israel from the Sinai desert near Eilat. It overshot coming down in Jordan and killed 4. Another Grad was shot from Gaza landing near Ashkelon. Though no one was hurt, raining rockets are a terror. Pray for the LORD’s continued protection of the people – No weapon formed against them shall prosper.
Many Israelis live without air conditioning and Israel is also under a withering heat wave right now. Pray for the believers – and also for the elderly and children who are especially vulnerable to heat-related deaths.
As the congregations continue summer activities with the young people and begin preparations for the Fall Feasts of the Lord, we pray that the LORD will prepare hearts to receive the good news of Israel’s Hope in Yeshua. It is not too early, even in the heat wave to begin to ask God for abundant latter rains.
Pray the Lord continue to strengthen the inner man of all those standing in ministry positions before Him – asking also for encouragement on those who have been laboring in confining circumstances for a long while. These shall reap in due season, if we do not faint.
It takes an Israeli to reach an Israeli. Pray for the generation who has immigrated to Israel to be able to master the language so they may “Preach in Hebrew, live in Hebrew, disciple in Hebrew, pray in Hebrew, read in Hebrew and even to dream in Hebrew.” And pray for the generation of their children who are authentically “Israeli” to catch the Moses-to-Joshua vision of entering into their full spiritual promise.
Ramadan begins Aug 11 through Sep 10. Some ministries in the settlements have been called to spiritually watch over the Arab villages surrounding them, many Hamas stronghold cities, to pray for the salvation of the Palestinian Arabs. You may also be prompted to join with them for release of the captives.
Pray for the staffs of the ministries – for every position to be filled with qualified, dedicated people and for finances to cover so many ministries who also have need of staff.
Speak blessing, wisdom, clarity and penetrating insight upon all those who are delivering news related to Israel to the Christian community. Many Christians (and Messianics!) in the nations depend on the unredeemed news sources for Israel news. Even unredeemed religious Israeli news sources do not hold a candle to Israeli believers offering news bulletins to the Christian world. HEAR THEM!

Praying in Agreement with the Israeli Body of Messiah
Strategically Aimed for the Lord’s Harvest in Israel

What has our attention? The heatwave or the fields white unto harvest? It may be a challenge to keep our focus when the heat of the enemy is licking at our heels. But if we press in at this time, not being turned aside, we are on the brink of the harvest.
Two strategies we are seeing in this season from the enemy are outbreaks of division between brothers and within families, and the attempt to discourage and disillusion through self-doubts. We are who the Word of God says we are – not more and also not less!
“For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise.” 2 Cor 10:12
“For as we have many members in One Body, and all members have not the same office” Romans 12:4

Arrows from Zion
Praise God for the many reports of salvations that are being reported from the various ministries. It is as one ministry put is last week, “not yet a flood” but the truth is we are seeing more new salvation reports from more ministries each week. It is exciting and a privilege to pray into.
Throughout the Middle East the Holy Spirit is moving under the radar of the news media and even under the radar of the believers in the different nations. Every once in a while a report goes out and we are astounded how many are coming to the Lord. This will stand up like lighthouses in the ME in the days ahead. Rejoice and thank God for pouring out His Spirit on all flesh in Israel and her neighbors.
In the past 24 hours there has been action on the Lebanon border. Speak as Yeshua did to calm the storm: “Peace! Be Still!” Pray for wisdom on all Israel’s military and government leaders.
With the arrest of three more religious settlers in connection with extremist activities like those perpetrated by the bomber of Ami Ortiz, pray for the Lord to open eyes to contrast darkness from light, wrong from right among the Israeli people. Multitudes are brought into the valley of decision through these incidents.
Pray for the believers in Israel and also those in the West Bank and Gaza, who are boldly ministering to their own brothers in the flesh. Speak the protection of the Lord upon them, abundant grace, provision for needs – spiritual and physical protection from those that would cause harm.
Thank God for the prayer event with the born-again congregations of Akko as Jew and Arab believers came together to pray for the first time as one. Pray for the brotherly connections to deepen and grow, and for this strategic unity to come into the hearts of other cities at the Lord’s leading.
Pray for the believers in all the congregations in Israel and in the West Bank and Gaza. We do not quite relate to the hardness of life or the level of lack that many face, but it is pervasive. The Lord is able to provide for the need and to give grace to everyone that needs. Encouraged believers encourage their leaders.
Bless the new ministry project in Akko to teach women from their women’s shelter how to maintain a home. Those who have not been mothered, do not know how to mother, nor to know how to even take care of themselves.
Pray for the short term ministry opportunities that exist for believers to connect with the indigenous ministries in Israel. Pray that there would be an increase in this activity and especially that the Church would transition from seeing Israel as only a sight-seeing opportunity to a hands-on ministry opportunity and family reunion.
We bless the focus that Christian groups have placed on Israel, but pray that eyes and hearts be opened to a great degree to the SPIRITUAL FAMILY in Israel. (What family ignores only some of its children that is not also glaringly dysfunctional as a family?)

God is raising up believers in the all nations to stand beside the believers in Israel. It is not enough to support Israel, but we are about supporting Yeshua’s Israel first, that His kingdom rule in the nation will grow and deepen. Speak blessing on all the Israeli ministries participating in awakening the Church to the Body in Israel.
Pray for all in ministry positions for greater discernment – to know when a matter is more than difference of opinions which are tolerable and deviation from the Truth which departs from our faith. In the world we see a humanistic pressure for “religious toleration” that renders us vulnerable to the Islamist agenda. The spiritual parallel may be that we are now afraid to call real deviations from the Truth of the Gospel.
Pray for Maoz to fill key spots in their media team and speak blessing on their communications which is blessing the entire believing community in Israel.
Pray for a release of passion for communion with the Lord, the hearing of His Voice of direction in our lives, the intimacy we keep ourselves too busy to have with Him. Pray for grace to be upon each of us to seek His face in this season….that we might become all that He envisions for us.
As the enemy continues to be stirred against us, we lift up our eyes to the Lord, who is watching over us and never turns away from us unconcerned as some. Pray that we go out with boldness to all we are called to do.
Pray for the believers in Israel who are also experiencing a heatwave this summer – but many of them without the benefit of air conditioners! Especially those in the Negev desert – pray for relief, refreshing, and a cool-down from suffocating heat that can make one sick being in it too long. Pray for a breaking of this heatwave!
Speak blessing upon the Beer Sheva outreach center that is such a blessing to all the congregations in southern Israel – a gathering place and a resource center. Pray blessings upon the family who run it, they, like so many other smaller ministries in Israel, live by faith each month in the Lord’s provision.
Brookie is a lady believer in northern Israel hospitalized with a serious bowel situation. The doctors want to operate & remove much bowel, Brookie is believing the Lord for healing. Pray for the Lord to do a miracle of healing for this much beloved lady.

In the world we see a humanistic pressure for “religious toleration” that renders us vulnerable to the Islamist agenda. The spiritual parallel may be that we are now afraid to call real deviations from the Truth of the Gospel.
Pray for Maoz to fill key spots in their media team and speak blessing on their communications which is blessing the entire believing community in Israel.
Pray for a release of passion for communion with the Lord, the hearing of His Voice of direction in our lives, the intimacy we keep ourselves too busy to have with Him. Pray for grace to be upon each of us to seek His face in this season….that we might become all that He envisions for us.
As the enemy continues to be stirred against us, we lift up our eyes to the Lord, who is watching over us and never turns away from us unconcerned as some. Pray that we go out with boldness to all we are called to do.
Pray for the believers in Israel who are also experiencing a heatwave this summer – but many of them without the benefit of air conditioners! Especially those in the Negev desert – pray for relief, refreshing, and a cool-down from suffocating heat that can make one sick being in it too long. Pray for a breaking of this heatwave!
Speak blessing upon the Beer Sheva outreach center that is such a blessing to all the congregations in southern Israel – a gathering place and a resource center. Pray blessings upon the family who run it, they, like so many other smaller ministries in Israel, live by faith each month in the Lord’s provision.
Brookie is a lady believer in northern Israel hospitalized with a serious bowel situation. The doctors want to operate & remove much bowel, Brookie is believing the Lord for healing. Pray for the Lord to do a miracle of healing for this much beloved lady.

It is pretty hard to ignore the plain meaning of these verses that speak of a spiritual duty to minister to the material lack within the believing community in Israel – Romans 15:26-27
For it pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. It pleased them truly; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in material things.
We Christians like to think we have no duties, but this clearly says we do – and it is a duty to a specific group in Israel.
The churches in Macedonia and Achaia were taught by the apostle Paul that their new spiritual wealth also produced a spiritual debt to the Jewish believers in Israel who labor in the gospel under a most taxing material environment. The debt was then – and still is today – toward the “ptochos hagios” or, the poor saints. Poor/ptochos: “destitute of wealth, influence, position, honor” and saint/hagios: “most holy thing, a saint”
This is a duty that has not “passed away” with the passage of time – and those who realize that we have been made partakers/koinoneo of the Jews’ spiritual things, that we have come into communion or fellowship with, become a sharer or made a partner with – will honor that which is due.
Then all the blessings that are released when we honor our debts will be released from Heaven. Pray for revelation of this to break in the Church.
A Foreword On Supporting Israeli Ministries
Israelprayer: Most of the Israeli ministries I have dealt with over the past 9 years of summarizing the prayer requests of Israeli ministries have struggles with appealing for donations. Many of them consistently send out prayer letters that do not even contain information on how to donate to the ministry, much less to they ask for donations!
For many, even to make the information readily available on their mailings feels like begging to them. It isn’t, and that is why I include each ministry’s donation information in the summary. It was always my desire to provide that information but only recently came into the position carry through.
I understand aversions to ministries we have all been exposed to who shamelessly appeal for donations like a bum on a bologna sandwich. It is off-putting, but even Yeshua said, ‘You have not, because you ask not.’ Personally, I believe that is a natural principle too - that He was not just talking about asking God in prayer, but we also have to learn how to ask our supporters when we need material support. It is not shameful for ministries to need material support.
Recently I saw something when a small Israeli ministry was making an appeal for supporters in a rather large Israel-supporting congregation. I had the sense that as he looked out over that audience he was like a under-fed child from Haiti being set down in the middle of a lavish banquet staring at excesses of food lying around on tables as far as the eye could see.
I don’t mean to embarrass or speak of the Israeli ministries as if they are third world, but frankly, the failure of the Israel supporting Church to support believer ministries in Israel – because we are too busy supporting un-believing Israelis – is a major reason why I started Israelprayer.com in the first place.
Around 1992 I had a revelation of the “duty” Paul told the Romans that Christians had to minister to the material needs of their brothers in Israel. (Romans 15:27) That revelation has never lessened over the years, but instead my eyes have been opened more and more to the significance Paul gave it in his many letters to the churches.
We are supposed to be supporting the work of the Body in Israel – not everyone EXCEPT the Body of Messiah in Israel.
Recently Asher Intrater wrote an article urging Israeli ministries to be a blessing to the Church, to not try and manipulate supporters using Romans 11. I agree, that is a good word – but the apostle Paul made it a major focus of his ministry to raise care and material support for the believers in Israel. Since he was the “apostle to the gentiles,” I believe Paul made it a major focus to set a precedent that is valid today when at long last Jews are coming to the knowledge of Yeshua, their Messiah.
If there ever was a time for Christians – and I also mean Messianic congregations – to support the work of the ministry in Israel, it is this day when the beginnings of “all Israel shall be saved” is upon us.

Pray for Israeli ministries who are trusting God through Yeshua to meet their ministry budgets, to be in a position to grow in ministry to the Body and outreach to their communities, to provide for their families and hire much needed staff, and to give in humanitarian outreach in the name of Yeshua, Israel’s Messiah.
Pray for those who are just stepping out of the boat, as Peter did, trusting the Lord for provisions for their ministries. Pray also for the ministries who are continuing to trust God in the midst of a worldwide economic crunch. Pray for every need to be met and for expectant faith to rise even in the face of lack.
Pray that God will give wisdom, direction and PEACE to all who are seeking Him for the direction for provisions and to meet the needs, some which are at a desperate level of need. Bless them with partners who desire to share in the fruit of the Israeli ministries.
Thank God for the many spiritual opportunities to build up the youthful Body of Messiah in the Land that are going on in these summer months. We pray for lasting fruit and more resources to continue in the ministry and outreach. Blessings upon all the young psalmists and worshippers in Zion!
Pray for the music and the teachings from the recent Elav and Katzir youth gatherings to continue to bear fruit and inspire supporters in the nations to greater support. Pray that DVDs and CDs to go out around the world as a testimony to the marvelous things God is doing in Israel.
It is illegal to evangelize anyone under the age of 18 in Israel under penalty of imprisonment. Yet the young people are spiritually hungry. Support One for Israel with $1 per month and help these indigenous believers reach Israelis online.
The Yad b’Yad (Hand in Hand) group – Israeli youth and German youth is getting underway: first stop Krakow, then 2 days in Auschwitz/Birkenau camps. Pray for these teens who are breaking through spiritual curses to become one in the Messiah. Pray for their leaders, too.
Palestinian and Israeli believers are flying out for 2-weeks together in the mountains of the U.S. Pray for this group – for forgiveness, brotherly bonds and grace to be upon them. Protection in these most difficult of reconciliation efforts.
Pray for the ministry who are publishing great Christian books into Hebrew for the benefit of the Body in Israel. Pray that no weapon formed against their employees to prosper and for the books to be as arrows in the hands of a mighty man to the readers in Israel.
Pray for the plans of Hezballah to be thwarted, their troops and leaders confused and that Israel would be protected from her enemies on all sides – over land, sea or air!
Pray for the lies of anti-missionaries to be exposed in full public view in Israel, for duplicity in dealing with these matters in police forces and courts to begin to dry up.
Pray for the events sponsored by the Israeli Ministries – tours, conference and other gatherings when the believers from the nations are drawn to Israel together with the Israeli Body. Pray for full tour groups and for the facilities of the believing community to also be blessed through these visitors.
As the U. S. State Department has cleared the way to more formal recognition of the PLO/Palestinian Authority, pray that the critical word “RECIPROCITY” return to the diplomatic language of those riding herd over negotiations between Israel and the PA .

Most of the words I’ve been getting from the LORD over the past several weeks come directly from the Gospel passages about water – like Peter walking on the water, or Yeshua sleeping in a boat crossing a threatening storm-tossed Galilee.
So as a priority prayer focus this week, Mark 4: 38-40: "The disciples woke Him and said to Him, 'Teacher, don’t You care if we perish?'
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Peace! Be still!' Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to His disciples, 'Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
Also, when Peter stepped out of the boat to walk on the water, there was nothing solid under his feet until every time he put his foot down to take a step forward in the calling of Yeshua.
These days our paths of our feet may seem like nothing solid is going to be there when we step out, but as we step out in faith in Him who is calling us forward, our foot will come down on a solid step.

Thank God for the “explosive grace” of the Katzir/Harvest youth gathering that has been taking place in Israel. Pray for the lasting impact on all the young people and for great family and congregational support and involvement in what the LORD has being doing among them.
Thank God that the young lives were touched with an impartation of the life of Yeshua that can carry them with spiritual strength as they return to their normal lives that is inhabited by few fellow believers their age in school, neighborhoods, etc. Pray for the flames of passion for God to abide in them.
Thank God for the many, many children’s camps going on throughout Israel right now – some including both Jewish and Arab believers together. Pray for God’s grace to be on all the ministry to the children that they will see the life of a believer exciting, fun and full-filling – not religious and confining!
Speak blessing on all the volunteers who are ministering to the children, teens and young adults over the summer holidays. These are not mostly paid ministry staff, but they are people with a calling from God who minister a labor of love. Pray for their needs to be met – for spiritual & material blessing.
There has been some misinterpretation – especially in Christian media – of the motives behind the lawsuit that the Beersheva congregation brought against Yad L’Achim and Rabbi Deri. Pray that this misinformation would be countered, and pray about being pro-active to be one who speaks up.
Asher Intrater is in the final stages of long awaited book on the pre-incarnate appearances of Yeshua throughout the New Testament. It is a powerful witness to religious Jews so pray for the final editing, publishing and distribution to be given a express path by the LORD.
Another extremist religious settler has been arrested in Israel with too many similarities to the Jewish terrorist arrested for the bombing of Ami Ortiz. The Ortiz family notes: “All we know is that there is always more than what meets the eye, and we are questioning more each day why Teitel has been hidden away in a mental institution for the past six months, with postponement after postponement by the district court psychiatrist, and why we haven't had the full cooperation or information sharing of any government legal or security service since the bomb went off in our house on March 20, 2008, critically wounding Ami.”
Pray with them: "We pray that what needs to be brought out into the light will be revealed, because we believe that the Lord wants to do something bigger than what we can see at this time."
Another Israeli ministry steps out of the boat of the familiar (security) of a business for provision into full time ministry. Pray for every step to be solid beneath her feet, and the feet of all others heeding the call of Yeshua to do so.
Pray for Israel as those who reject the truth are demonstrating the prophecy of 2 Thess 2 where God promises "to send the deceived a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness."
Please keep praying for Israel. In the natural, the opposition to Israel looks like an unassailable mountain but we serve a God who throws mountains into the sea.
Maybe you have never considered supporting this ministry - so let me encourage you to consider it now. Pray about it! We do valuable work for the indigenous ministries of Israel - that is not bragging, it is just the honest truth of the matter.
